The food is good but do not go here with a group. We went in on a slow day with a group and they brought the pizzas/meals out one by one over the course of about 45 minutes. It was very disappointing and embarrassing as I had guests from out of town with small children. The restaurant was only about half full so I'm guessing they were just short handed. Great pizzas! Their wings and ribs are really good too! They are marinated the same way. Tangy and savory, not breaded. Every time we go is packed!. They also have a nice bar, tvs everywhere and different days of the week with specials on drinks. No complaints on the service. Overall a nice to place to hang out and eat! read more

Always been kind of curious about the hype behind Anthony's - I love pizza!! And whenever I get a pie, I ask for it well done. A pizza box from Anthony's literally says "Pizza well done", so I figured it'd be pretty bomb. Unfortunately, I wasn't that impressed. Although certainly not BAD, I think I'll stick to my regular pizzeria's from now on. For those of you that like thin crust, well done pizza, I think you'll enjoy this for sure. I think my main issue was that it was just a little too thin for me? Border line just crunchy pizza. I wouldn't NOT go to Anthony's again if somebody really wanted to, but it wouldn't be my first pick if that make sense. Anthony's coal fire pizza is a good place to go if you're trying to figure out where to go for a last minute dinner. It's quick, easy, and tastes good. They're pizza is good, it's not the best pizza out there but it'll definitely satisfy you. However if you really want to get something good you should order their eggplant parm and their wings. They have the BEST wings, they don't have hot sauce and they aren't made with hot sauce (people will bring their own and they don't mind haha) but they are so flavorful, they are juicy and crispy and tender. The meat falls right off the bone and they're served with caramelized onions, the perfect topping. I could eat a whole order to myself but unfortunately I'm always stuck sharing. Their eggplant parm is also a huge hit, my parents order both the wings and the parm almost every weekend, and they don't order out much, so that means a lot. The eggplant is sliced incredible thin, it almost looks like the crepe cake from Mille-Fueille. They are stacked perfectly and layered with tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil, it is ON POINT! So if you do go, and maybe aren't in the mood for a pizza those two dishes are the best way to go! The most recent time I went with a big group of family and friends about 18 of us, and they were very accommodating. Their salad was very good and the give you different dressing options, and cheese options. And their pumpkin beer with a cinnamon sugar rim is delicious. read more

well today I had ordered a lunch salad from anthony's. it looked wonderful on their website and when I called them to ask the what exactly was in it- it sounded delicious. I am disappointed because it's really just basically lettuce. just spent 12$ on lettuce and 2 slivers of tomato. this place has good pizza and some other additional items off their menu. I love this place! Their pizza is so good from the sauce to the dough. Staff is very nice as well. We come WAY too much these days. Probably twice a week (summer is close by I gotta chill lol) but it's just a nice chill place and the pizzas amazing! There was this one time our pizza's came out like a cracker. The wings are not your ordinary wings, they are coal fired to perfection with grilled onions. Pizza done well, almost as good as Patsy's in Spanish Harlem. To me the mark of a good Italian food establishment is its marinara (red sauce). The marinara here is excellent!! I had the hand-rolled meatballs in Marinara with ricotta and basil. It was wonderful! The weather was great so we asked to dine al fresco and were ushered to a table outside close enough to still feel just a bit of the restaurant's A/C. Any closer might have been too cold. Might want to bring a jacket just in case. Service was also excellent. Our waiter, Ralph, was knowledgeable and accommodating and has been there for years. On his recommendation I ordered the house Chianti which paired very nicely with the food. He also saw to it that we got slightly more than their average pour in our glasses. While I cannot argue with the business model, I must say that one drawback is the limited menu. (They have a chicken sandwich but no chicken parm. Hmm...) Still, if you're going to have limited offerings, make sure you execute well and that they did... right down to the cheesecake and cappuccino, which you have to have!! Great meal, great atmosphere, excellent service and a decent price. Like Arnold said, we'll be back. read more

For a highly hyped up place (got recommendations from locals to try it) I was slightly underwhelmed by their New York "well done" pizza. The pizza was served slightly burnt on the bottom and overall the flavor was just boring. Nothing really made it stand out to deem its name as true NY pizza. Which is sad since it's a pizzeria. However, it is definitely a step up from the typical $1 slices you find every other block. We ordered the lunch size pizza (4 small slices for $8-great option for those who can't finish a whole pie) and the broccoli rabe and sausage. I definitely enjoyed the broccoli rabe and sausage; the sausage was seasoned perfectly: not too salty but very flavorful. The foccacia that came with the dish complemented the broccoli pretty well. If anything, the individual dishes on the bottom right corner of the menu are the way to go, you won't be disappointed! Our waitress was very helpful and friendly, but only when she was around. It was irksome how there were 4+ waitstaff around, but none responded when you try to wave them down. However, Anthony's is not bad; it's just not great. The ambience is perfect for taking a date or for a nice family dinner. I can see myself coming here in the future...if I ever find myself in Commack again lol. read more

Best pizza on Long Island. It's a memorable slice. There are so many mediocre pizzerias on the Island. These places seem more interested in spending their money on the rustic decor vibe. They should be spending their money on fresh, quality ingredients. These places, you see basil on the pizza. However, you don't taste it. Not at Anthony's. Their pizza is better than most places in Manhattan. (IMHO DiFara's has the best pizza in NY.) Anthony's also makes an excellent salad. Place is always busy, even during lunch. Friendly staff. Great neighborhood place! Service is friendly. Atmosphere is somewhat of a sports bar with a nice large bar and plenty of tables. They also have outdoor tables, but too close to the parked cars. Just make sure you like your pizza well done, because that's what they're noted for. Also, the chicken wings are excellent. The meatballs are great, and I'm very picky about eating meatballs out. Usually a reliably good place for a pizza, we ordered a plain pie with 10 chicken wings yesterday and the food was dismal. Pizzas from Anthony's are generally well done, which we like, but when I got it home for dinner and opened the box the damned thing was burnt to hell. The chicken wings were well done but edible. This is the third time this year quality at this store was completely missing. Now everyone has a bad day, but if I order from this Anthony's in Commack again with the same results then they're dead to me. This place has the best pizza in town. It's got the perfect crust, everything has the perfect amount of sauce, and the toppings are always perfection. My favorite is the regular cauliflower pie, it's huge and all of that roasted garlic and cauliflower just melts in your mouth with that cheese. I didn't even notice that it's their only pizza with no sauce and that it's more like a flatbread because it's that good! Eggplant Marino is my second pick here, the sauce and the eggplant are so good on that crunchy coal fire crust. My favorite thing to do is go during the happy hour special on Wednesday's. Drinks are all discounted and there are samples of appetizers circulating around the bar area to try out. We don't go often because it's a little pricy for us, most of time I cook home, but when we want to treat ourselves... while over the weekend we did a take out order ..pizza and wings, wings always the best, the the pizza... I was so upset.. the dough wasn't cooked, the sauce was off flavor and the cheese wasn't even melted, looked like they cut it and placed it on top without putting it in oven..
