My wife did not like the syrup in her brown sugar milk tea, had an odd flavor to it. Maybe we should have picked different drinks that would have impressed more. I didn't see whether they made her drink order in the tumbler or they made it first then poured it into her tumbler. Anyway, good to know if you like to reduce waste.

DO NOT EAT HERE!!! The food here is mediocre no different than any other neighborhood sub shop however, the woman who runs the register is a straight up criminal. She overcharges people intentionally on each item without hesitation and has no shame or conscious. I ordered a sub, soda and slice of pizza and watched her overcharge me ($1.99 for the soda when the sign said $1.69, $2.99 for the pizza when the sign said $250 etc). She said $14.76 at first then when I laughed and said I saw what you did she did it again with me hovering over her like a helicopter and she came up with $12.12. I asked her why it was less if she did nothing wrong and she said tax and then stormed off and the other person rang up the order. You might think I'm a "cheapo" or petty for writing this but how many times a day do you think she does this and gets away with it? If you want to give your money to scumbags go ahead but if I were you I'd stay away. read more

Sometimes we'd pack snacks, and sometimes we'd head into Dorchester for Vietnamese food, which was always a nice break, but sometimes you just want food and you want it without going to far. Enter VFC Eats. I'll be honest: you don't come here for the ambiance. Sure, it's gotten better over time, but it's still a little gray and industrial, with some funny meme signs trying to brighten things up. That's okay, because you come here for one thing: filling, satisfying comfort food. The menu is encyclopedic. Burgers? They got that. Pizza by the slice? Yep. Pasta? Like eight different kinds. Dinner combos? YURP. Chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, jalapeño poppers, rice plates...if you're hungry, they probably have something you'll want. The burgers are the real stars. They're hot, juicy, and SO satisfying. My favorite is the pizza burger with pepperoni. I tried being vegetarian for a year, and tbh, this is the kind of burger that would have un-converted me. If you're in a hurry, though, I'd actually recommend the pizza. The burgers take a little while (good things take time, as they say), and I suspect they're just a bit understaffed. The buffalo chicken pizza is consistently delicious, and reheats beautifully. One small gripe is that they don't always seem to have the little things fully stocked. Today they had run out of paper menus, the TV menu boards were turned off, and the napkin station was empty. That's admittedly a little frustrating when your buffalo chicken pizza is gloriously greasy and you're desperately looking for a napkin. On the other hand...it was July 4, they were open, and they seemed to be working hard, so I'm inclined to give them some grace. (Bless their hearts for working on a holiday when we were all hungry!) Oh, and somehow they also have what feels like 30+ flavors of boba. I usually get the ginger milk tea with boba but no sugar, which is exactly how I like it. (When I need more sugar, I get the yumcha brown sugar + boba.) Today, the woman behind the counter asked if the ginger milk tea was good because she'd never tried it herself. I offered her some of mine, but she politely declined and said she'd have to try it another time. It was such a funny, wholesome interaction. ^_^ Is it HEYTEA? No. Is it Ten One Tea? Also no. But you're also not paying HEYTEA prices, and after wandering around Moakley Park for hours on a scorching hot day, their boba absolutely hits the spot. Service can be a little slow, but if you're hanging out with friends and are just chilling out, you won't mind -- just don't come if you're in a rush. Come if you're hungry. There isn't much seating inside, so be prepared to wait for a chair to open up or take your food over to Moakley Park if the weather is nice. Personally, I think the burger is worth every minute of the wait.
