I liked having local hot sauce and malt vinegar on the table without having to ask. Cool little place where you pick your own drink from a cooler and order at the counter before sitting. Crowd was reasonable when we stopped in on Labor Day to eat away our hangover from a friend's wedding the night before. A local resident suggested this restaurant when we asked for a non-tourist location. What a great choice. It was 1/2 Market and 1/2 restaurant. Food was really good. I had the salmon fillet, garlic mash & corn on the cob. I'm usually a picky eater, but I had no complaints; just added some salt and pepper to the salmon. I also, tried some of the shrimp my family ordered and they were very good. My family loved the fact that they were tail-less. (the outdoor seating is not overlooking anything but a parking lot, so i would say sit inside with the hustle and bustle) this place is the bomb for chowder. they have a portugese one (with chorizo + cream based), rhode island (clear) and new england (cream based). they are all REALLY good they have other options (of course) lots of fried seafood and lobster but i really come just for the chowder. i could drink a pint no problem. read more

have eaten there quite a few times went yesterday got the fishermans platter and some other meals. the platter was $40. it no longer had coleslaw i guess you have to pay extra for that now. it had 4 clams, about 3 scallops cut into tiny discs so i think they cut each into 3 pieces, a small piece of cod so tough you could not cut parts of it with a knife and fork, some calamari and shrimp. super disappointing. also, everything was served in a take out container very unappetizing and wasteful....not a good experience, very expensive for very mediocre food. will definitely not go back. not enough for 2 people either , it was advertised for two. read more

I wouldn't really call it a restaurant per se, but if you are looking for straight seafood on Aquidneck Island, this is the place to get it. Last night we ordered a bowl of New England clam chowder, 2 hot "stuffies" (spicy stuffed clams), and the New England mega meal (1 3/4 pound Maine lobster on a bed of steamed mussels and little necks). With a couple of beers, the total price tag was a touch over $50. Not a bad deal, to say the least. Between the two of us (two large stomach'd foodies), we left completely stuffed. The food itself was no frills, but of the utmost quality. As anyone knows, a little lobster with butter is all you need to put a smile on your face. Anthony's seconds as a market, so you don't need to sit inside and eat if you don't want to. Personally, I think it would be a good idea for them to start a delivery service. Imagine, the meal above delivered to your home with that price? :) Of course, no reason to fix a good thing, right? Anthony's lives up to the reviews below. Very good seafood, always fresh but the service, advertisement, and marketing ruin what the seafood could give you. Service, when they are open can be slow. Servers are not the most sincere our accommodating considering the price of their food. However, their worse aspect is hours of operation. Supposedly, they are open starting at lunch; however, I have attempted to take visiting friends and family there on multiple occasions and they are closed...no explanation and worst yet, no posted hour change on their website, Yelp, FB or any other place they advertise. Great place to come to no matter who you are or age! There was a 30 min wait for seating and another 30 min to get your food and we were all hungry when we got there so we ordered take out. They said 20-30 min and came out in 40 no big deal. I have fish and chips and friends had lobster rolls. They were all very good and it was worth the wait and coming here. If I'm in the area ever again ide definitely bring a friend. Only negative is that it's far from town and if your drunk you won't want to drive all the way there :) read more

Customer Services could have been better towards me. Guessing it could have something to do with me being African American. Placed a call in order totaling $45 and when I came in wasn't greeted. They just stood there for awhile to see who was going to help. Ask for condiments was told it was in the bag and when I checked there was nothing. Made me not won't the food. We went here yesterday after reading great reviews and were pretty disappointed. The NE chowder was meh- a little too thick and the flavor was just ok. Fish and chips was nice but not very flavorful. The Buffalo chicken sandwich was ok but was supposed to have blue cheese on it and when we asked the server about it she brought back blue cheese salad dressing... Not quite the same. Garlic mashed potatoes were a little watery and just ok. The fresh corn on the cob was perfect and the best part of the meal. Got the fish and chips (cod) and it came with fries (so good and crisp) and coleslaw. It was so delicious, the fish was perfectly flaky, it was not oily and the batter was nicely thin and crisp. I felt healthy eating it :) My friends got the salmon sandwich, which may have been a couple steps too healthy-tasting to me. Our favorite place for the freshest seafood. We have been going to this restaurant for many years. Recommend that you go on the off peak hours or be prepared for a long wait. The wait will be worth it. On our recent visit, the fish and chips were excellent, the mussels in marinara were tasty and the Portuguese chowder is memorable. OMG the best seafood I had while I was in Newport. It was absolutely amazing. The calamari was superb. It had a Thai kick to it and it's nothing like I have ever tried before. They do a good job of directing the traffic but it still gets crowded and people end up standing around watching you eat praying that you get up soon.
