We were looking forward to eating at a top restaurant in Albuquerque the last day of our vacation. We left feeling disappointed. I don't mind buying an expensive meal. However, the quality of food was certainly not worth the price or the hype. This is a 2 star restaurant in my opinion, not 5 star. The appetizers and meals were not worth the price charged. The food was so mediocre that the prices should have been half. It was such a bad experience that we started reading the terrible reviews while waiting for our check, to see if anyone else had the same complaints. I have to agree with what the others were saying, in general. If you want your vacation to end on a high note, eat somewhere else. I will never eat here again. read more

I went to this restaurant with a business colleague from out of town. I wanted to really showcase the unique spirit of Albuquerque and Antiquity hit the nail on the head. I love the location in Old Town, the beautiful and truly unique Southwest architecture, and this time of year it was decorated for the holidays. The Duke City shines this time of year right? Antiquity is such a darling place, I love the huge ovens when you walk in and that you immediately see the food prep area. For a fancy place this it's is rustic as all get out. The painted wood on the walls, small booths, and brick flooring really make this a special experience. I do recommend reservations, and the price makes this a special occasion place only, but the feeling is very casual. Like just about anywhere else, jeans are appropriate here. The food here is delicious. It's a thoughtful menu, not huge, of foods that taste amazing grilled. They offer nightly specials that I have never been disappointed in and the portion sizes are enormous. I've never left without leftovers. I would say the food is American grill with a French influence? Again, it's something that just plain works. The real treat about Antiquity is the service. Everyone here is trained in excellent customer service. It's a strange mix of super casual and formal dining room service that delights me. I think it's something that you'd really only experience in this atmosphere. The servers are friendly, share tips and info about Albuquerque, joke and laugh, but still attend to your every dining need. My wine and water glasses were always filled, the food was served beautifully and served in a traditional fine dining course tempo, and we were treated to a taste of dessert to finish the meal. Truly exceptional. I'll be back and bring the hubs for our next date night for sure! Next time I'll try to arrive early enough to stroll through the rest of old town before dinner. read more

I like their antique interior designs and unique looks. Servers were very kind and nice. Food overall was fun and delicious. I ordered tenderloin with mushrooms. I liked the sauce which was flavorable go well with the steak. The sides include mash potatoes which was also good. I also tried Henry IV which restaurant's recommendation. The display was pretty. We had a wonderful dining experience at Antiquity this evening. We enjoyed being there from the moment we entered the restaurant until the moment we left. The service was impeccable. Steve served us with friendly professionalism. He guided us through the menu, giving suggestions to ensure that all our needs were met. My husband had the French Onion Soup that was very delicious (I did have a taste or two!) My husband had the Henry IV. I had a seafood special. Both came with salads, vegetables and rice pilaf/ mashed potatoes. Everything was SO GOOD! We shared a half bottle of wine that was recommended by Steve. Would have loved to have had the Creme Brûlée, but are bellies were happily full of goodness. I can recommend Antiquity without any hesitation! read more

I have ate here for years on a regular basis and never had a bad experience. Food is excellent. Service is excellent. Great steaks and seafood. Everything on the menu is good. I recommend that you make reservations as they are always busy. Parking is often a problem as the area is busy and congested. They do not have a private lot. I read some reviews and took a taxi over from my hotel. Even the taxi driver said that I wouldn't be disappointed. I'm not. From the moment I walked in to this unique restaurant, I felt welcomed and was impressed with its unique charm! My waiter Gabriel was very helpful, attentive and friendly. I didn't have a reservation but they accommodated me in a very cute and cozy booth. I ordered one of their special for the evening, seafood crepes. The dinner salad was delicious and the fresh baked rolls were irresistible. I still couldn't help myself and had to order dessert, even though I was so full already! The key lime pie was decadent, light and tasty. I highly recommend coming here if you are in town. It's not a place for kids really, but a wonderful dining experience for couples, individuals and groups wanting a charming restaurant with amazing food. read more

The one bite I tried it one was not as good as without it. The French onion soup was great and the salads fresh. Highly recommend trying to get reservations here if you're in town. I had the pork chop with the bone in it and it was great. There were a lot of flavors in the meal which made it even all the more interesting. My favorite restaurant in Albuquerque. Very quaint romantic feel with some amazing dishes. The Henry IV is my go to steak that always pleases. The cashew chicken is probably my second favorite. They always have some great specials that usually include some great seafood selections. Amy is the main chef & always makes sure every meal is just right. Make reservations early as they book up fast & don't have a ton of tables. My grandmother used to run a restaurant here in the 50's called La Cocina so there's some great history here!!! Came here with a reservation, but we still had to wait about 30 mins. It was my girlfriends birthday, so we were on a tight schedule. They ended up bringing some wine while we waited and then got as seated as soon as they could. Once seated, they really made up for it. Food was amazing. Service was perfect. Food and atmosphere is very good. Not many tabletops, so getting a convenient reservation time is challenging. I have tried to make having Christmas Eve dinner there a tradition, but each year it becomes a bigger challenge due to poor management. I started in early October this year and I was told to wait until after Balloon Fiesta. The day after the Fiesta, I called and was told to leave a message, which I did. After several days no one called me back, so I called them and was told they didn't have anything available until after 8:00 pm, which is out of the question due to having kids. I explained that I was trying to get reservations for weeks, but he was entirely unsympathetic. He didn't attempt to rectify it at all. I will never dine here again. If I'm being honest, the food is not the greatest. Seasons down the street is much better. read more

I have been an avid lover of Restaurant Antiquity. I have been going there for many years. I went last Friday night with my son for his Birthday. There appetizer Salad with incredible fruits and nuts, greens and a delicious piece of baked Brie. I was actually pretty full after finishing the salad. Even though Antiquity is known for it's steaks, I rarely eat red meat. I ordered a special fish from New Zealand , which was incredibly well prepared. It also is served with some shrimp, rice and delicious veggies. They brought a dessert plate which had a small amount of three different desserts. There was delicious Creme Brûlée, and Chocolate Mousse. In addition, there was a Devine piece of Key Lime Pie. My son and I shared the desserts. I simply adored seeing the owner Steve, whom I adore, and the chief server Steve Martinez. In all, we had a marvelous dinner. read more

Whenever we go on vacation we look for one dining experience that will make the vacation memorable. Antiquity did that for us. We were told that the building has been used as a restaurant for over 100 years. It is divided into several smaller rooms containing three-four tables each, creating a warm intimate ambiance. The food was incredible. For starters, my wife and I shared oysters Rockefeller and mushrooms stuffed with escargots. Both dishes were enhanced with incredible sauces. The escargots were exquisite--plump and perfectly cooked. As good as they were they were put to shame by the oysters, which were the best we ever had. I had the upgraded salad, which contained a variety of lettuces, dried fruits, mandarin oranges, raspberries and blackberries. My wife enjoyed a watermelon gazpacho for the soup, which was perfect for the hot Albuquerque day. For the main course, my wife had sea scallops, which were perfectly cooked and swimming in a most delicious sauce, and fresh steamed vegetables. I had a rib eye steak, cooked medium rare. Like everything else we had , it was perfectly cooked, not loaded down with seasoning and not loaded with grizzle or fat. It was truly prime meat, and the flavors were magnificent. The wine/beer list was small, consisting mostly of excellent California/Napa Valley varietals, but also included some New Mexico wines, and some affordable house wines. . I have been to a lot of fine restaurants in my 66 years, and one of the things I have found to be true is that you can have the best food in the world, but if you do not have service to match the food, the dining experience becomes very unpleasant. Good food is one thing. Good service puts it over the top. The service at Antiquity was as good as the food. Our main server was Eric. He was dignified, friendly but neither too chummy nor priggish. He was there when you needed him and in the background when you didn't. He was assisted by others who exhibited the same degree of friendly professionalism. The owner/manager came by before the meal was over to welcome us and ask how the food was. Everyone made us feel as if we were long time regular customers and not just "one-off" tourists. We showed up an hour early in Old Town and wanted to have a cocktail before dinner. Arrived at Antiquity only to find they do not have a bar inside. No problem. I step inside and inform them of our arrival, and the very helpful gentleman steps outside with me and directs me to another establishment that does have a bar. We walk over to this other restaurant, have our drinks, and walk back for dinner. The food was outstanding. I had the Henry IV which is a filet wrapped in bacon with artichoke leaves and a heart drizzled with a bearnaise sauce which was absolutely divine. The crab cakes were done perfectly. It is a departure from the tourist traps and chain restaurants that are everywhere in Albuquerque. The owner is up front and engaged. The coal fired grill is the centerpiece of the open kitchen. The wine list is one of the better ones in town, and the food is fantastic. Even though you are in a landlocked state the seafood is superb. The steak is probably the best I enjoyed while in Albuquerque. Antiquity is a great choice for special occasions, business dinners. Quiet, intimate, and with the money. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was here! Although the atmosphere is a bit pretentious, the food made up for it. I ordered the spiced shrimp which had an extremely tasty sauce and 5 or 6 large shrimp. My entree came with the vegetable of the day and roasted potatoes, both of which were good but nothing to write home about. My fiancé got the cashew chicken which I also thought was very good. It seems as if the chef here has perfected the art of delicious, creative sauces. Be prepared to pay for it though as the entrees start at the low twenties. We came to New Albuquerque to visit for a couple days, and are so happy we made the decision to eat here. My boyfriend and I ordered the bacon wrapped filet mignon dish and were completely blown away! The filet was the most tender meat we have ever had! We have eaten at several 5-star steak restaurants in California, and no steak compares to the tenderness of this filet. It was topped with a scallop and the BEST bearnaise I have ever had, and rested on a bed of artichoke. It also included the best potatoes au gratin we have ever had, as well as vegetables - carrots, cucumber, broccolini. Absolutely delicious. Wonderful service, nice atmosphere, reasonably priced for a quality steak. If I ever return to Albuquerque, I will be eating here as often as I can! read more

Wonderful! Our second bottle of wine (we were 4) was unfortunately a bad bottle but the waiter promptly replaced it with an equally good wine as he didn't have another one of our choice chilled and even though it was a more expensive wine he did not change more than our first choice. I had a very pleasant experience at Antiquity. It's a cosy little place with a charcoal grill for the steak right when you come in the door, which hits you with great smells. I got the salad special which had a chunk of fried brie that was fantastic, not to mention the yummy salad with pears, raspberries, walnuts, cranberries, and a pear vinaigrette. I got the salmon special which was crusted in cashews and served with rice and a pineapple/fruit salsa-ish thing. The dish as a whole was a bit dry, but the salmon itself was very good. Took some clients to dinner last night in this charming restaurant in Old Town. The food/atmosphere were excellent. I ordered the Alaskan King Crab legs special and, dare I say, it was the best I've had. The legs were huge, the meat tender and juicy. Food and service were 5 stars. The reason why I didn't give an overall 5 star rating is because the ventilation isn't the best. The smoke and kitchen smell permeated throughout the front waiting area and into the restaurant. On a recent trip to Albuquerque and Santa Fe where we ate out for every meal over the course of 7 days, Antiquity was by far and away the best meal we had. The inside is kind of like being at your grandma's house, if your grandma lives in an adobe house with low lighting. We both had pork - he had a panko-crusted pork special, and I had Pork Normande, which kind of sounds like the opposite of the thing you'd want when it's 90 degrees outside but you would be wrong. My husband and I had the pleasure of visiting Antiquity while we were in town. Gorgeous restaurant in an old building, and you can smell the aroma of the food from the street. It's a nice greeting. We started off with the Oysters Rockafeller, which I highly recommend. They were definitely some of the best I've had. Perfectly cooked, and were topped with a bernaise sause which was what I particularly enjoyed. I moved on to the Jalepeno Shrimp, which were the perfect amount of spicy. They were served with mashed potatoes, which were pretty good in flavor, but a little on the dry side. Steamed veggies also came as a side, and were topped with an orange hollandaise sauce. I had never had hollandaise made with orange juice (vs lemon), but it was surprisingly yummy and tasted almost a little like honey butter. I'll have to try that at home some time... The wine selection is extensive and the desserts are also very tasty. We had the Creme Brulee, and it was just as divine as our entrees. Another thing that I liked about this place, is that although I would consider it a "fancy" restaurant, we felt comfortable wandering in the door in shorts and flip flops. It is located right in Old Town, and like so many others in the restaurant, we had been spending the day sight-seeing. We heard that ANTIQUITY Restaurant was an exceptional dining experience, so we decided to try it - and we concluded that it is indeed Very Special. For starters, we ordered the French Onion Soup and the Stuffed Mushrooms - both were very delicious. For entrees, my wife ordered the Scallops Jalapeno in Cream Sauce with Orzo and Vegetables; she also ordered a Special Salad: Brie en Croute over Butter Leaf Lettuce, with a Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing and Assorted Berries and Apples. I ordered a daily special Veal Picatta with a Mushroom-Caper Wine Sauce over Pasta, which came with the House Garden Salad. Both entrees and salads were mouth-watering delicious, cooked to perfection and plated beautifully. Service was exceptional, with our waiter Chaim constantly checking on us - aided by other staff as well. The restaurant has a warmly engaging romantic atmosphere - especially the almost-private booths which invite intimate conversations. Prices are very reasonable for such high quality dining. And, there's a great wine selection! This is definitely a superb eating experience, and we will certainly come back. read more

My husband and I enjoyed celebrating our anniversary here. We had stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer and we both had specials for entrees. My husband had the rack of lamp special with pesto and I had the veal special with pasta. Both were absolutely delicious. We shared the dessert sampler which had key lime pie, crème brûlée, and chocolate mousse. Favorite was the chocolate mousse followed closely by the key lime pie. We celebrated our 24th Anniversary last night here. To start the table was decorated in glitter hearts , confetti , ambience was spot on. First, a bread basket that had these Green Chili Cheese Rolls oh so warm and inviting !! My husband ordered the King Henry IV fillet, I opted for the Chicken Madagascar. The Bernaise Sauce on the filet was perfect and went well with the Artichokes. My Chicken was really flavored well with the mushrooms and Green Peppercorns. We paired it with a bottle of wine. Oh I had a salad with a Vinagertte made from Blue Cheese, it was so well balanced! My husband had the Roasted Red Pepper Soup, he let me try it.... so velvety on the palate and complex flavors.Very good! We decided to get dessert to go! The KeyLime Cheesecake was off the chart ! Best I've ever had! The Creme Brûlée was small and more of a tease. Chocolate Mousse not to bad, This was the trio-platter of dessert so you can have a bite or more!All just 11.00, I've paid that for one dessert! One word: YUM! My husband's birthday fell during our roadtrip, so I wanted to go somewhere nice for dinner. We had a wonderful time shopping in Old Town, and this was a great place to unwind and have a relaxing and fulfilling meal. I was a little nervous that it would be a little stuffy, but it was simply not the case. The atmosphere is intimate and dimly lit, but the dress is casual. The waiter picked up on our nerd vibes, and made us feel very comfortable the whole night. We had a bottle of sauvignon blanc, delicious crab cakes for an appetizer, two filet mignons, and the (extremely rich) three creme crepe for dessert. Our favorite restaurant in Albuquerque. It's in Old Town, which is mostly a tourist trap, but Antiquity is anything but. There aren't many table in the restaurant, so a reservation is a must. We were greeted and seated by the owner, who made us feel like we were regulars with his friendliness. The booths are very private and perfect for that special dinner. Shortly after being seated, our server came up and introduced himself and told us he would be back in a minute. About 10 minutes later he returned, saying he had to deliver a bunch of hot food at once. There appeared to be plenty of bussers around to help with that, but OK. Then he rattled off about 5 minutes of in-depth specials. Both of us ordered the fish special, and skipped the appetizers, instead opting to upgrade our salads. The upgraded salad comes with a bunch of extras, including nuts and a toasted piece of brie cheese on top. Let me be clear: UPGRADE YOUR SALAD. We also ordered a bottle of local champagne, that was pretty reasonably priced. Both our champagne glasses and water glasses were kept filled throughout dinner. We ordered the Creme Brulee for dessert, which was good, but nothing special. Listening to other waiters, it sounded like there was a dessert sampler option that we weren't ever offered (I think he neglected to mention the crab special as well at the beginning of the meal). Overall, everything was excellent. My only complaint was our server, who's multiple extended absences left us baffled as to where he disappeared to throughout the meal.
