Plenty of food but overpriced. Poached eggs cooked perfectly but the hashbrowns and sausage were very greasy. To go to the bathroom, one has to go outside, literally go around the back of the building, up stairs and then into the bathroom... With a key. My disinterested server helpfully told me there's an inside bathroom at their sister place. Really? Not helpful at that moment. It was a while since I came to Antoine's I used to come all the time with my mom for breakfast. I was on my way to San Diego zoo so decided to stop by for old times sake. They sat us right away and service was very friendly. They have some outdoor tables but we decided to sit inside which was nice and cozy. The food wasn't as good as I remembered it to be, the hash browns lacked flavor just taste like I was eating flavorless potatoes. We ordered eggs and bacon plate and a ham, egg and cheese croissant but everything just lacked in flavor and we ordered things you can't really go wrong with. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? Came with my husband and daughter this morning for the first time, what a great little spot! I ordered the omelette with spinach, avocado and cheese with potatoes, sooo good! My daughter and husband also ordered omelette and were completely satisfied as well. Coffee was good, so was the Cafe Au lait, but in that case it could have been hotter and stronger. I also wasn't fond of the cup, I prefer to have a handle on my cup, it's much easier to hold but that's me. Service was excellent and the servers were very nice . Love this place! read more

Just had brunch at Antoine's for the first time and it was great! We stopped here on our way from Long Beach to San Diego on a recommendation from a friend who eats there every time he surfs San Onofre and he was SO RIGHT! I had a tuna melt, an Arnold Palmer, and a Bellini; all were top notch. Handsome husband had steak and eggs and said it was perfectly cooked. They even had treats for our fur baby & brought him a plain burger patty because "he deserved it" according to our super sweet server. We have decided to stop here every time we trek down to SD to visit our son. It's only 2 blocks off the freeway so is also super convenient, and there's a big parking lot behind the restaurant so no hassle with finding a spot. Perfecto! I chose, one egg, bacon, cottage cheese and sliced tomatoes I also chose a mixture of orange and grapefruit juice that was fresh squeezed and it was so incredible. This restaurant had plenty of tables and booths indoors but it is a rather large area outdoors for the outdoor seating. I love the vibe of the restaurant but I especially loved these two people, Adriana and David. So pleasant, fun, big smiles and carried a lot of warmth in their personalities. First of all, Antoine's is a cute little spot in the middle of San Clemente, so I just knew I had to try it. There was a little wait, but they moved efficiently. Once we got inside, it was a lovely little diner, with a hip yet old school feel. Everyone there was nice and the food came out quickly as well. I had the Eggs Benedict Florentine and it did just the trick. The tomatoes, spinach, and hollandaise mixed nicely, and the meal filled me up. Next time I would definitely try the crepes though because they were definitely catching my eye as I walked by other tables. Loved Antoine's! Everyone is so friendly and the portions are big. Adriana took the time to help me order the best gluten free breakfast, and then chatted with us about living in San Clemente. The menu shows several GF options, for breakfast and lunch. I got the breakfast tacos with egg and sausage. The plate came out with three tacos and each had a big slice of avocado on it. Hubby got the breakfast burrito (he loved it) and I ate some of his hash browns. Ask for the homemade salsa if you want extra spice. There's cholula sauce on the table.
