This is an amazing breakfast spot! The wait on Saturday morning was around 30 minutes so be prepared to walk around or sit and have something to drink. We chose to wait longer for an outside spot since the weather was perfect. I ordered the eggs Benedict with spinach. It came with a side of wonderful hash browns. Food is OK, but the manager fawning over my wife while completely ignoring me, asking her 10 times how her food is and not even glancing at me, for example, when I've been in the place well over a dozen times with her, is just weird. Even my wife was uncomfortable enough to ask him if he didn't recognize me as the person always in there. He just said "I think I saw him in here once with you" and went back to the smiling with her. Plenty of other places to eat around here without being made to feel like I'm a third wheel by the people I'm paying to at least be hospitable. My parents, hubby, and I took a trip down to the San Diego area and stopped in San Clemente for lunch along the way. We fell across this place and although they were busy, we were lucky to find a socially distant table outside. Nothing about this spot blew me away and we were left with an expensive bill. I enjoyed an iced coffee but even service was mediocre. A lot of guests were not wearing masks, but I appreciated that there was plenty of seating outside. I would likely not return unless all other local spots were too packed. I'm sure this is an unpopular opinion, but I just can't recall anything spectacular about this restaurant that made it memorable. read more

Wide selection of menu options including great selection of vegetarian meals. Great coffee, fresh ground, and brewed or espresso specialty drinks available. Great beach atmosphere with superb service. Kitchen nailed all our special requests with no issues or up-charges. Make sure to ask for Adriana as her friendly smile and cheerful demeanor are just as great as the food. The owner is on site to make sure everyone and everything is excellent. The entire time we were there sitting at the counter, never heard a single complaint from anyone, nor saw anything sent back to the kitchen for issues. I loved Antoine's! Super local, a legit espresso machine, and the food is fabulous. Only downside is the place is small and there's alway a wait. Started with a cappuccino, i was more than impressed with the espresso quality. i then had the breakfast tacos which just blew me away. We have eaten here many, many times...every time we visit Orange County. We drive out of our way to have breakfast here, it's so good. The food this morning was, as usual, amazing. We recommend this restaurant whole-heartedly. What made our experience here this morning quite bad was our server, who I believe was named Travis. He hardly visited our table, leaving his two colleagues to do the main work of refilling our coffees, bringing us our food, and just being friendly and helpful. When he did actually stop by our table, he hardly had a word to say and was even outright rude. I usually leave at minimum a 20% tip even for mediocre service since I've worked in a restaurant before and know what's it's like, but this morning I felt my $1 tip was quite generous. read more

Service: Our server took our drinks quickly but took a while (15m) to take our orders. Once we ordered, we took other 30 mins to receive our food which was a bummer.... Location: The restaurant hosted its customers outside with plenty of space between people. On the other hand, there were flys everywhere which made our eating experience a bit annoying and frustrating. Stopped for breakfast @ Antoines in San Clemente this morning and was quickly seated in a booth which was perfect for a party of 3. We were greeted by our server Dani immediately, she took our drink order and gave us a couple of minutes to look over the menu. Dani returned with perfect timing and explained the menu, we placed our order the she made sure that our drinks were topped off without us asking ! There is a reason this restaurant gets crowded on the weekends and has a line. This place was recommended by a local and I can see why. A hidden gem in San Clemente... from the food to the service. Place gets packed pretty quickly so try to come early. We ordered the crepes and benedicts... and it is all delish...benedicts have the good hollandaise sauce and eggs are perfectly poached. The hashbrowns are pretty good as well, not soggy or oily. Cannot say enough about this (not so hidden) jewel. I went on a rainy day and the hostess immediately got me a hot cup of coffee while I waited for my table. As I sat at the counter I was welcomed by almost every member of the staff. I was then told about the specials which included a barbacoa scramble and I immediately bit. The staff were all very friendly and they have this really cool back-window to the bar next door (Red Fox) where the customers over there can order breakfast thru a door at the bar that leads straight to the kitchen here at Antoine's. I used to live in San Clemente back 20 years ago. Aintoine's was always a breakfast spot I thought very fondly of. In coming back to California on business, I had a chance to come back to this spot to see if it lived up to the hype in my mind. It did not disappoint!!! This is an amazing breakfast spot with very friendly staff!!The croissant sandwich I had was amazing! One of the staff told me they bake them every day in house and it shows. It was incredible! The coffee is also something judge in a restaurant. As I drink coffee black, quality matters. Again, great coffee!!!! Inside is also very inviting in this small restaurant. The outside dining is always appreciated in SoCal. I highly recommend this spot for anyone in the area. Well worth the visit!! read more
