For our first visit to Key West, this place was a treat. The food was awesome. We are vegetarians and there were more than enough options to leave us satisfied. The gnocchi was the best entree in our opinion. Many of those around us would get the Bread Service with butter instead of olive oil--huge mistake. Their olive oil blend is very tasty, and we found ourselves putting it with all of our food. We got the goat cheese soufflé as well--highly recommend. Very well done. The ambiance was delicate and refined but still fun and modern. The table lighting was unique. And the service was able to keep up with my compulsive water drinking habit. This was the fourth Christmas Eve dinner that we have enjoyed in this fabulous restaurant, but this year's dinner was above and beyond! The food was spectacular! The lobster Caesar was delicious, the calamari was zesty and on point, we also devoured the chef's app special, an eggplant, mozzarella, red pepper concoction. Yum. Our entree's were just as fantastic, we covered all the bases with a good to the last bite plate of fettuccine mushroom, a yellow tail snapper that was out of this world and a classic filet that was cooked perfectly. We were saddened that our favorite bartender wasn't behind the bar, but our tears turned to joy with the arrival of Dwayne to our table. Hands down the best waiter we've ever had in any restaurant in Key West. He was (is) perfect. And his knowledge, expertise, professionalism, kindness and joyful spirit, was the cherry on top of a perfect meal. Thank you Dwayne for making our holiday special. In mayvi thought this was my new favorite Italian restaurant. Then in January the $18 old fashioned has twice as much simple syrup than bourbon. I had seafood pasta the first time with sherry cream sauce excellent. 2nd visit service was off drinks were way off an we ordered seafood pasta w vodka sauce which was bland. Change of pace from the usual mediocre Keys meals. Place was cozy. Great vibe. Service was excellent. They definitely worked as a team. Servers flying around taking great care of patrons. Food was great. We ordered tuna ceviche, meatballs, bread service, puff pastry, and French Onion soup. The soup was in my top 3 all time for taste and presentation. Beer was cold and wine was tasty. Delicious food and outstanding service. It is an interesting menu and filled with surprising items...do not overlook the steak tartare.....so very good. As for service, please ask for Dwayne. He is attentive and so very aware of food, recipes and how they are served. He was quick to tell us about the coconut cake. Their most requested, now we know why. Dining alone. The host, bartender, and waiter made multiple actions that made me feel unwanted. My reservation was for one. They said the bar was full of reservations at the time it was empty. When I left 1+ hour later it was still over 50% empty. I would have expected they would ask how long I planned to stay to possibly accommodate me at the bar before the reservations arrived. Next, the host set me at a table for 2. And preceded to set down 2 menus, 2 water glasses, and after many minutes the serving staff asked if I was waiting for the other person. The waiter visited the 2 tables around me more than 4x as many times as mine. Yes I counted. He did not ask about my food, did not say thank you when brought my check, and said nothing when he delivered the final bill. Food was good as it has always been but that does not make up for the attempt at humiliation. I won't be back. read more

Excellent place to dine. The food was amazing. For starters I had the goat cheese soufflés and my husband had the calamari. They were both excellent but the sauce the calamari was in was absolutely amazing. For the main course I had hogfish francese and my husband had the veal. Both excellent choices! I have to say that besides the food being amazing our server Brandon was the best! I will definitely request him when we go again. The bartender (and I'm so sorry I didn't get his name) was also amazing. We ordered Sangrias and he made them exactly the way we like them! Wow. The best restaurant in Key West if you are a fan of Italian kitchen . They make their own pasta from scratch and their home made marinara was excellent. Escargot was the best i have tried and i have tried that appetizer in 3 different continents of the world. Drinks are excellent as well. The atmosphere is calm and quiet, a welcome change from the noise and chaos just outside on Duvall. Our server, Stephani, was friendly and attentive, and the meal was delicious overall. Do yourself a favor and get the burrata, it's the best I've had! The gnocchi in gorgonzola sauce was exquisite as well. My only complaint is small and petty, but it would have been nice if more bread was included in the bread basket. Considering you have to purchase it, the basket came with two small ciabatta rolls and four pieces of flatbread. They were delicious, but more would have been appreciated. Overall, still a wonderful experience, I would definitely come back next time I'm in Key West. read more

The restaurant is lovely. You don't feel like you are in Key West until you look around and see people in shorts and flip flops in a fine dining place with white tablecloths! Service was nonexistent when we were seated except for the water girl who filled our glasses. Once the waiter took our drink order, service really improved! Great menu, decent prices, and nice location on Duval Street. The shrimp scampi appetizer was epic! My bolognese was very nicely done and hubby enjoyed his lasagne and found the coconut cake too rich to finish. Good place to have something more than fried fish! I ran into the owners of Santiago's Bodega on my way to Little Pearl. ;) I told them I've tried most of the popular restaurants during my first visit, such as Lola, Latitude, Backyard, 915, Little Pearl, Blue Heaven, the opposite crepe place etc. They then recommended Antonia's since I love Italian food. Skimming over Antonia's menu, I can see the restaurant deserves its reputation of the town's Italian establishment. The dish options, names, and ingredients looked safe and classy, but seemed short on creativity. I was not too hungry tonight, so ordered two starters: an endive salad special and a burrata cheese salad. Both are classics and were done in perfection. Antonia's has a limited dessert menu that includes only 3 items: a coconut pie (which I went for), a key lime pie and a warm chocolate brownie. The coconut pie was like the Napoleon dessert without the crispy chips. It tasted heavy and dense with all the coconut cream and coconut flakes pressed together - sans sugar, it can be a good Keto dessert. It's not overly sweet but lacked depth of flavor in each bite - the "consistency" made it boring. read more

You can tell a good Italian restaurant from a bad one by there red sauce seasoning or in my case, their Bolognese since I like making it at home. Their food was better than most but it came with such high reviews and we could only find a late dinner reservation at 9pm that we all expected more. You don't a plethora of different pastas to choose from. Nope. Here it's more fettuccine or Linguini. I like simple spaghetti. Not too thin or thick but they didn't have it. I got the waitress's favorite dish: Fettuccini Bolognese with 4 different meats of which I'll never order again because my tummy did not like it the next day at all. There server was very friendly though and the restaurant had a dimmed romantic feel perfect for date night but I expected more out of this Italian spot. read more

Made a Thanksgiving reservation months ago and called to confirm that they are dog-friendly. Fast forward to Thanksgiving - called us an hour before and told us they are not dog-friendly. When I explained that we were told they are dog-friendly, the guy on the phone smugly said "yea we have had a bunch of people bring their dogs in and pretend they are service dogs", even though we've never claimed that our dog is a service dog. It was completely disrespectful and they never even offered an apology. However, we were fortunately able to secure a last-minute reservation at Bagatelle, which is honestly a much nicer restaurant! read more

One of my FAVORITE restaurants of all time! Had moderate Italian expectations and was fully blown away. Our server Robert was hilarious and helpful. We had: - Goat Cheese Soufle: First time having this anywhere. Was OUTSTANDING! Get the bread to go with it - Seafood pasta: Get it with Sherry sauce instead of vodka. PERFECT dish. Seafood tender as can be, sauce perfectly salted and creamy, pasta was perfect - Grouper special: delicious cream sauce over gnocci and mushrooms. We decided to try this restaurant after reading good reviews and having seafood all week long. I would give this restaurant 3 1/2 stars. I made a reservation for 5PM and we arrived exactly at 5 with the door being locked. We hung outside for a few minutes until a guy (bartender) came to unlock the door. Being the only ones in the restaurant at this time, we did not have our masks on but he told us we needed to put it on to walk to our table LOL. Our server, Nicole, came right over was friendly, told us the specials and got our drinks. I was surprised we were not offered complementary bread; I feel all Italian restaurants should give you bread especially at the price for dinner here. We did decide to pay the $3 charge for bread service; I was not impressed when we received three pieces of bread and two crunchy flatbread sticks. I decided to have Gnocchi for dinner with the cheese sauce. The portion was good however the cheese was a tad bit strong for me. Overall it seems like a good restaurant but they need to give the customers complimentary bread. read more

I would not suggest the antipasto - it says it comes with imported cheese but that really means 2 small slices of the same type of cheese. It came with 4 different meats and pickled vegetables but these were highly disproportionate to the cheese we received which made it not as good. The potato gnocchi was delicious and the sauce they make is heavenly. Also a must try is the lasagna, it's really a soup. It sounds interesting but it is amazing. read more

Great service and great food! Everyone from the minute we walked in was very friendly. Robin was our waiter and he was so kind and gave us his favorites on the menu. We ended up ordering his top two recommendations. We love coming here, it's very cozy, warm and festive. When you find a place that has great service and food, you definitely want to come back! Also, their cocktails and wine are also very good! We all ordred an espresso martini and so far they have the best one on the island, It's not as sugary and syrupy as other places. We made reservations here for a Saturday night at 7, we arrived about 6:40 and was seated right away. There were many tables open but around 7:30 started to pick up but still had some tables open, never went on wait. Restaurant is kind of small, dark romantic ambiance. No outside seating available which was fine, it was so hot anyway and started raining. We shared a bottle of Pinot Noir ($18/glass/$70/bottle). We got the bread service ($4) and the goat cheese app. The bread was unique but I'm not sure I'd get it again. The goat cheese was great, I wish we had tried some others. I had the special/feature of the night which was a scallops fettuccine. It came with 3 scallops that were rather large and SO GOOD!!!!!!!! Like perfectly cooked! My dish did come with mushrooms and I had asked them to take those out but that's like my only complaint was they didn't leave them out. This was probably our most expensive dinner out on our trip. My wife and Ihad the pleasure of dining at Antonia's on Wednesday night. This has to be the best Italian food in all the keys and maybe even south Florida. Our Server Robbin was so professional. We asked Robbin for a few suggestions. Well he was spot on. We started with 2 escargots, flavortown. We then had a Shrimp scampi app., so delicious. We also had grilled calamari app. Perfectly cooked. After that we had a half orderof Gnocchi gorgonzola, the best we have ever eaten.. For our main courses we had the veal scallolpini and yellow tail snapper francese, these two were absolutely delicious. We will return to this great restaurant when we return to Key West in January. Food is excellent and our party of 11 was served efficiently in very reasonable time. But our waiter was not very good. He disappeared after food was served, never asked if we wanted dessert, and took a long time bringing the bill. We sat at a bare table for what seemed like a half hour waiting for the bill. He refused to give us 5 separate checks and did not tell us how the bill could be divided, leaving it to us to figure it out. Why should we do his job for him? The tip was built into the $756.00 tab, so we couldn't deduct that. There was space for "additional tip" on the bill, but we obviously didn't leave any. We just ended up dividing the bill 5 ways & gave him 5 credit cards, which made things easier for him but did not accurately reflect each couple's real bill. I've been to far less expensive restaurants with larger groups than this where waiters had no problem giving each of us separate checks. read more
