When I walked in, there seemed to be just one person trying to care of things, so the wait was a bit longer than ideal. However, a second server eventually appeared. They do have awesome happy hour deals which include drinks and food from Monday through Friday, 11am to 7pm. Overall, it has a good spot to grab a beer, sip a cocktail, and snack on some small bites. I tried the Grilled Chicken Sandwich, and the chicken was juicy. I also like all the peppers and the flavorfulness of the aioli.

May have given an extra star if it wasn't for the hair I found in the fish. Bummer!

Seasoned with so much flavor and it was paired with a beautiful sauce. The Rildok was exquisite. In my opinion -- I even told one of the servers, whom I now know is one of the owners, that the flavor profile reminded me of a cheeseburger, and it's my favorite new dish. The Himalayan Rice set was awesome. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The tingmo (like a bread) was soft and delicious, paired well with the chicken. The dal reminded me of my own homeland's dal. We've now been back here multiple times. My goal is to try the entire menu. The vegetable khoty momo was surprisingly my favorite, and I'm someone who loves meat. I've now had all the flavors and preparations of the momos, and you can't go wrong! This place is a gem. This is the second time I'm saying this in the first four sentences, but these were amazing. First of all - they were huge! Way larger than normal tacos, these tortillas stretch across the plate. The outsides are perfectly crisped up - these are kind of a mix between a soft & hard shell taco, but incorporating the best of both worlds. The amount of oil used in the grilling is perfect. What really makes these though, is the fillings. The shrimp is unbelievable - first of all, its the largest shrimp I've ever seen inside a taco. I mentioned how large these tacos are, but the shrimp bursts out of the top like a xenomorph out of a chest; there's little containment to be had here. These shrimp are seasoned astoundingly, turning practically a dark red from the spices used. Oh yeah, and the juiciness is just perfect. They are so well cooked. The other outstanding part is the cheese. The Oaxacan cheese is special - it's some of the best cheese I've ever had on a taco. Hot, soft, and stretchy with a perfect level of melting, it adds a crazy amount of flavor to each bite. The other toppings are solid, but some more onions would've helped I think. Also, the dipping sauce used is around average, and unnecessary. This was kind of expensive for 3 tacos - coming in at $25 before tax and tip. It was a ton of food though. Ah, the famous restaurant that harbored the Upper East Side groper as one of its beloved kitchen staff: http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/08/09/man-quizzed-in-string-of-groping-attacks/ I was a targeted victim of the Upper East Side Groper. This restaurant is 2 blocks from my apartment. The video footage from my encounter at the 77th Street/Lexington subway station led to his capture. It's fascinating that Mr. Antonucci has so little regard for the safety of the women in his own neighborhood that he kept his employee's identity a secret for weeks, allowing 5 additional women to be attacked from late July - early August 2011. I call on residents, tourists, and concerned persons to boycott this establishment, which has wasted weeks of our special forces' time. Mr. Antonucci aided and abetted a sick criminal and has made a grave mistake. We are neighbors in this city, Mr. Antonucci. Why have you failed us? read more

You can go to hundreds of places. -All with good food and great ambience and for some inexplicable reason some places just stand out more. This is one of those places. It sort of reminds me of an old Italian restaurant in Europe --and at the same time I felt like I was going to my favorite Uncle's for dinner. The atmosphere is sweet and the service excellent. The servers seemed experienced and very accommodating. On several occasions we enjoyed a sampling of different appetizers in addition to our entrees. Every item is carefully prepared and every item is delicious. Kind of eclectic mix of people are drawn to this place too which only enhances the experience. I think in general the Prix Fix menu is similar to the normal menu except they reduce the serving size quite a bit. A little quieter than normal as we showed up later in the night and things were winding down. Ordered the burger and the pork chop. 100% recommend the pork chop - very tender, very flavorful, good portion size. Sop up the sauce with some bread! Will be back!

The restaurant had moved everyone seated outside on the patio, indoors, so there were no tables left for those of us who had made indoor reservations. The hostess admitted (out loud!), that she didn't want to seat us at a table the manager (?) suggested, since it was a reservation for her friends?! Still, we tried our best to be understanding and flexible, and eventually ended up getting squeezed into a makeshift table (which we had to request to be wiped down since it was brought in from outside). Servers bumped into us numerous times during our meal as well. Our server thanked us for being amenable as it was a Friday night during Restaurant Week. But, my guest ordered off the regular menu (since she didn't want to contribute to food waste); her sole pasta dish ended up costing $30 (the three-course pre-fixe menu was $45). I was surprised that our drinks, at least, weren't comped for the situation we helped to solve for them!

Everything we ordered was excellent, but some highlights were the prosciutto and burrata, tuna tartare, lobster ravioli, lamb chops, and chicken Milanese. We also shared a beautiful bottle of vintage Barolo, which made the evening even more special. I studied abroad in Rome, and this meal honestly brought back all the best parts of Italian dining -- great food, great wine, and that warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to linger at the table. The staff was incredibly attentive, and our waitress in particular gave us tremendous attention throughout the evening. That level of service really elevates the entire experience. I heard there is live music on Thursdays so I will certainly be back for a post work drink & bite to enjoy the atmosphere. If you're debating going to spiga, I highly recommend.

This was actually fine since the drinks didn't spill on us. However, the biggest issue was with the cacio e pepe. We specifically chose Spiga during our NYC vacation because this dish is advertised with a unique crushed Parmesan bowl, which was one of the main reasons we wanted to try it. However, when the dish arrived, the Parmesan bowl was missing. When I pointed this out, one server told me that the dish didn't come with it and that they had "changed the menu." I then had to get up from our table to find the hostess/server who seated us and took our order. She told me they had simply run out of the Parmesan bowl. The problem is that we were never informed when ordering that a significant, advertised component of the dish was unavailable, yet we were still expected to pay the full price. What was even more confusing was that she initially told me, "It's not on the menu, that's why we didn't mention it." However, the Parmesan bowl was clearly listed on both the online menu and the paper menu she had provided to us. We understand that restaurants can run out of ingredients, but customers should be told before ordering so they can decide whether they still want the dish. We specifically went out of our way to try this dish because of the Parmesan bowl, so receiving something different without being informed was understandably disappointing. What made the experience worse was that nothing was proactively offered to make up for the issue. She apologized and said she would speak to management, but that was it. We had to ask what could be done. She eventually offered to take the pasta away and not charge us for it, and said we could order something else. However, our main dishes had already taken quite a while to arrive despite the restaurant being nearly empty and it being past 9:30pm. We did not want to wait for another entree. I then had to ask if we could simply keep the pasta and not be charged for it if it was otherwise going to be thrown away. This was eventually agreed to, but again, it was something we had to ask for rather than an accommodation that was proactively offered. To make matters worse, the cacio e pepe wasn't even hot when it arrived, although thankfully our other pasta was. Overall, the issue wasn't simply that an ingredient was unavailable. It was the lack of communication, conflicting explanations, slow service, and lack of effort to address the disappointment. A simple heads-up when we ordered, along with a reasonable attempt to make things right, would have made a huge difference.
