We drove 30 minutes just to eat here! We were very impressed with this small, authentic and absolutely delicious Korean restaurant. Service was friendly and attentive, what more can you ask for?! We tried the Octopus bibimbab ($12.99), which was amazing, very flavorful with just enough octopus which was not at all chewy and delicious. The rice cake and dumpling soup($10) was yummy and very rich, the dumpling filling was a little too mushy for my liking but the kids ate it up. This place is pretty small but their goat stew is really good. I got the bi bim bap too but what really shines is the goat stew. I think it is pretty overlooked as it is in a big plaza. I have gone twice. The first time, there was only two other patrons. The service was really good. The Korean woman working there kept helping me ladle more stew into my bowl. The second time was today, we were the only patrons. They accompany the goat stew with bowls of rice and some mixture of sauces. I'm not quite sure what is the sauce made put but before I mixed it together, I did see wasabi. This place is a nice restaurant, overshadowed by the more popular Jubei which is almost next door. In fact, Jubei was the reason why I went here. I originally wanted to try Jubei and according to yelp, it was open but when I got there, it was closed despite the sign on the window with the store hours. A-Bum's goat stew is especially nice for cold nights like the ones that have been appearing in the LA area lately. It is small and cozy. The service pretty good. The side dishes were pretty good. Just came here with a friend today. We got food for take-out. We got the #11 (bulgogi hot stone pot bimimbap) and #26 (grilled pancake with seafood and green onion). It's my first time trying the seafood pancake and I liked it. The bulgogi was good too. After we ordered, we went to get some drinks from Sunright Tea Studio just right across. When we went back to pick up the order, the person who took our order didn't bother to help us or ask what we needed help with. Even though she was getting orders for another party, she went back and forth several times and pretty much ignored us.... I mean it's okay if she didn't remember our faces even though we placed the order like half an hour ago but she could have asked why we were right in front of there door instead of ignoring us?? We had to tell the lady after while since she would've ignored us until we don't know when to get our order. It seems to be a small family-owned restaurant. Anyways, I will still give four stars because the food was decent and the pancake was pretty good for my first time. It's also good that they had a tent set up for outside dining. read more

Took my baby cousin here for a birthday lunch. We ordered a few items and those few items were delicious! Got the seafood pancake, gamjatang, and dubu kimchi. It was all delicious! I loved the gamjatang. We got the smaller portion so it was only 1 potato. The kimchi dubu pork was soo good. It's been a while since I've had really good kimchi dubu pork. Their seafood pancake is packed with a variety of seafood and fried perfectly. She wasn't adventurous enough to try the soondae. I would've gotten it, but I wouldn't have been able to finish it. I'll have to come back another time to try the soondae and bossam. The prices were just right for the portions. The banchan variety was good as well. They refilled whichever one we asked for. We came here after lunchtime so there were no customers. It's a tiny spot, not that many tables. Plenty of parking at the time, but it can probably get busy because it shares the lot with BBQ Spot. read more

This restaurant is quite small (about 30-35 people max) but that just means the waiters/waitresses can be more attentive, friendly, personal and allows for a quiet environment when you just want to eat and relax. I went here with two other friends and ordered the Napa Cabbage Pork Wrap, spicy chicken pot+seafood pancake+beer combo (they allowed us to substitute beer to soju) Everything tasted great. We ordered a second soju and the waitress noticed we were drinking a lot and gave us another (third) soju on the house! So nice of them. We couldn't quite finish the pot so we asked them to convert the sauces of the pot with fried rice/seaweed and it made for a nice finisher to soak up the rest of the soju. 10/10 would recommend. Authentic in look, atmosphere and ambiance for a small, quaint, no-frills Korean restaurant - definitely not where you want to take a 1st, 2nd or even 3rd date on. It comes complete with old Asian men sitting around, talking and drinking - eventually what I aspire to be in some day... Food is good and plentiful, but the menu is difficult to read being the captions in English are in fine print. For the uninitiated in Korean dining and if you don't bring somebody that is and speaks Korean, then it's a hit & a miss on what you think you're ordering but actually really get. Plates are flavorful and you definitely can smell the aroma of each dish served. There are plenty of Korean restaurants around D Bar and there are probably 4 other restaurants in this shopping center alone. This one doesn't stand out nor would I not go back, but it's the nice and friendly service that I would say deserves a try. read more

Coming to this area we try to find a nice place to eat so we came to Ap Gu Jung with my mom to have a nice lunch together. the ONLY reason why I gave it a bad rating was because my mom ordered the pan fried octupus rice I believe. She was mixing the food and took a bite into it. To our surprise a weird folded paper came out and my mom described it as a weird laundry detergent smell and taste. The waiter took it and said it was just folded napkin and nothing else and kept denying anything else. Eventually the waiter sniffed the paper and admitted it does smell minty.... and then try to move on by just saying sorry and try to give the money back and act like nothing happened... never coming back again after that.. Omg AMAZING!! Their cold noodles?!? LEGIT!! I'm picky w my cold noodles . And while there were "good ones" and "ok ones" and even in Korea I was the same, this place by far has hands down the best cold noodles in town imo... well from the ones I e tried anyways. It's different . Their red sauce is much different. And the other dishes were soo good too. Their soondae duk was bomb too. I've been to places where they serve you old ones that taste questionable . This soondae was exact opposite of what I've tasted previously and I was told this was how it IS suppose to taste. All in all, thumbs up, amazing service. Amazing food. read more

I ordered the bulgogi here, and while it was pretty good, I prefer the one at Ham Hung (which is in the exact same strip mall). However, the two friends I went with preferred the bulgogi here, so you know, different strokes for different folks. They gave us 6 different side dishes, which is also less than Ham Hung, which I think gives you 8, but the sizes were bigger here, so I guess it's a toss-up. I suppose it sounds like I'm complaining, but there wasn't really anything to complain about - service was good/friendly, food was good, and the prices were very reasonable.
