What a hidden gem! The espresso flavor is outstanding. I came for the first time a couple of days ago and had to come back again today. I've had the brown sugar iced latte and the monkey business iced specialty drink with a warmed Almond croissant. Absolutely delicious. The croissant is nice and crisp and flaky on the outside and soft and flavorful on the inside. While ai was there, a staff member offered a sample taste of a ham and cheese croissant dish they were testing out. That also was delicious! I hope they bring it to the menu. The location itself is a smaller interior with seating outside on a covered portico outside the shop. There is a little refrigerated section for grab and go options as well as some yummy sounding food items on the lunch menu. The staff was very friendly both times I went. Highly recommend checking them out!
Service was great and we found seating right away. However, there's not a ton of seats available. Just 4 tables I believe. I got a matcha latte and an egg sandwich. The matcha latte was made with ceremonial matcha, whole milk, and had a banana cream top. Very good drink. The sandwich was good but I wouldn't go out of my way to order it again. Overall, I would be back for the drinks and maybe to try a pastry.
Went to ace hardware and I saw ape coffee in the shopping mall, but I'd go in and try it. I ordered a hot latte with half-and-half. Their service girls were very friendly and took my order promptly. It is a very small place with no seating inside only outside the latte was very good. I'll be back.
Ape coffee is something I crave on a regular basis and it's because of their Monkey Business drink. This location is small, with to-go ordering only. Parking is much easier and the wait is shorter compared to their Orange location. The inside is sleek and tiny with really friendly service. Monkey Business 10/10 - perhaps one of the best banana coffees I've tried. The banana foam complements the coffee so well, with real banana flavor and a nice drizzle of caramel. This drink is pretty sweet but you can still taste the espresso. Highly recommend checking out Ape Coffee. Their matcha is also great as well. Overall great beverages all around.
First time trying Ape Coffee after following them for a long time, and I honestly didn't even know about this Placentia location -- a perfect grab-and-go spot. I ordered the Incredible Ape Matcha with oat milk, and it did not disappoint. Taste-wise: very banana-forward, super fresh, and not overly sweet -- just the right amount. Balanced, smooth, and easy to drink without feeling heavy or sugary. The space itself is very small, so it's definitely more of a to-go location. They do have three tables outside with six chairs total (two per table) if you want to enjoy your drink there. Service was super friendly and accommodating, especially as a first-time customer. I placed my order and had my drink in about 6 minutes, which is perfect if you're on the move. Overall, great vibes, quick service, and a solid stop if you're in the area for quality matcha or coffee. Will definitely be back.
Christine helped us we both ordered the banana matcha, the matcha is smooth and light. Christine helped us choose since we didn't know what to get today. But my bestie has never tried this place so we finally got to go together yay. Love this cute coffee shop, the vibe is nice the employee's are friendly. They have a lot of items to choose from, pastries, food and delicious coffee and banana matcha. Thank you for helping us choose this delicious matcha we got it with oat milk. Seriously never was interested in banana coffee until I had it at Ape Coffee. I have been here a few times now. Their Monkey Business ALWAYS consistent. There was one time when I returned a 2nd time on the same day for more. My nephew kept praising the strawberry matcha. He really liked it. Recently, he even asked me to return to get it. So of course I took him lol They had cute merch for sale as well. I wanted to get it, but they only had shorts. I wanted sweatpants...boohoo. There was a discount as well. Very cozy and clean coffee shop with outdoor seating only. Customer service was excellent! Their menu is displayed on a tablet that you have to scroll to see the items, which makes it a bit different than other coffee shops where the menu is up in a wall or next to the register. I ordered the banana latte (can't remember the exact name) but that latte was so delicious!! I would not mind coming back here for this drink and try other drinks! I was left impressed!!
Friendly staff and creative drinks! I ordered the Tiramisu Latte and Monkey Business -- both were delicious. The Tiramisu Latte was sweet, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Monkey Business is a latte topped with banana cream foam, which added a fresh and unique twist that I really enjoyed. The shop is very small, so there's no indoor seating, but they do have a couple of tables right outside. We didn't have to wait long for our drinks, which was a plus. I'm excited to come back and try more from their fun and unique menu!
This coffee shop is in a relatively large plaza surrounded by other businesses. They have some outdoor seating, no indoor seating as the shop is pretty quaint. The tiramisu latte with almond milk has been by favorite thus far, but you really can't go wrong with the drinks. I've also had the snow monkey, cookie butter latte, chai and a simple vanilla iced latte. Their avocado toast was not the best, likely would not get again. The staff has been polite every visit, but the service does take a bit longer than expected most of the time.
It is a small coffee shop w/ no seating/tables. Great for a quick grab and go! They have huge pastries available and can be toasted upon request. I enjoyed their Incredible Ape Matcha! It was so creamy and the banana cream was a fun topping. The guy working the register was so friendly and asking everyone how their day has been.
Intimate dark gray moody coffee spot with no seating inside, but 4 cafe tables outside on their "patio" (which is basically a wide concrete sidewalk by the parking lot). You can order at the register, at a kiosk inside, or online. I ordered a basic hot vanilla with an extra double shot. I'd give it a 3 out of 5. It's a Friday morning and there's a constant flow of customers going in and out. I obviously didn't order the right beverage, because I can only give this coffee shop 3 stars. I'll need to come back and get one of their fun espresso drinks.
If you haven't tried the monkey business latte you are missing out. The banana cream is not syrup-y but tastes like actual bananas and it mixes perfectly with the honey latte. The cinnamon isn't too strong and the drink is not too sweet. Both of their locations are delicious. read more
I've been dreaming about this monkey business latte and banana brûlée matcha since I've had it!! I saw this business pop up on my FYP on IG but it was for the orange location. With a little research I found they had one about 5 minutes away from my house! The matcha was flavorful without being super grassy and overpowering the drink. It was smooth and perfectly sweetened. Topped with the banana creme, and the brûléed sugar, and that fresh banana slice, the drink had depth, flavor, freshness and comfort. The monkey business latte was the same concept except delicious espresso, a bit of cinnamon, honey and a banana chip. DELICIOUS! I loved these drinks because they weren't overly milky, and not overly sweet either. The customer service was also great, the guys helping me greeted me with a smile, and were very helpful with their suggestions. It's a small but cute place and there's ample seating outside. All across EXCELLENT! From the pastries, sandwiches, and drinks. This place is worth going ape for. Came in for a mom-date with my bestie and we both ordered the tuna crunch. It was a bigger size than I expected which is a great thing because I saved the second half for dinner. I'm hooked on the banana cream matcha and will keep coming back. I'm cold foam/cream obsessed so I had to give their Monkey Business a try. I'm not a banana flavor person at all so I was surprised that I really enjoyed the drink. The banana flavor wasn't overpowering and did not taste artificial! I see why it's at the top of their list! read more

Came here on their soft opening and looking forward to see what it looks like when they're done. Inside was on the smaller side and I am curious how they're going to utilize the space. There are seats set up for the patio area and it's nice that there is a lot of shade in the shopping center. The coffee was good and I really like their logo. The drinks were very good but it look a long time to make since there was only 1-2 workers in the store. The store is small with no indoor seating but a few tables outside. Also, they warm the pastries up for you. I ordered my coffee with light ice and only a single shot instead of a double and it was perfect for me since I don't like super strong coffee. I would recommend this coffee shop! read more

**FOOD & DRINK (Allergic to Milk)** 1. "SNOW MONKEY (ICED ONLY): A brown sugar latte topped w/ signature sweet cream, brown sugar, & cinnamon powder." DISCLAIMER: I understand that changing the recipe to accommodate for my allergies will change the intended flavor of the drink and so I genuinely do not intend on being mean to the nice workers there. Because the sweet cream topping is made using heavy cream & can't be substituted, I had to order without it from the SNOW MONKEY. Upon taking my first few sips, I was disappointed; The drink didn't taste of brown sugar or cinnamon, and barely of coffee. It mostly tasted like really watered-down, iced oat milk. I figured maybe more of the drink would become stronger as I got to the bottom but it never did. I'm willing to give it another try in the future because of the good service & communication with the baristas but I don't think this drink was worth the $6.73. **SERVICE** The barista wearing the black USC hoodie at the register was actually very kind! I asked him if I could have anything on the signature menu and he informed me that there wasn't anything to accommodate for my dairy allergies on it. I told him I'd need a moment to see if there was something other than the signature drinks and he let me know they have milk alternatives like oat milk. When I found the SNOW MONKEY drink, he made sure to write in the notes for me, "Allergic to dairy!!". It was unfortunate that there were only two baristas that day because a line queued up shortly after I ordered (08:45 AM) and couples wanted their pre-ordered bouquets of flowers. **AMBIANCE** It's just small and it was rainy the week I rolled through, so I'm assuming seating wasn't organized as it normally is. amazing service, coffee, and food. genuinely 10/10 experience, i got the monkey business (banana + honey) latte and not only was it beautiful but delicious as well. the cashier was knowledgeable, made great recommendations, and even comped a kouign amann for me since my bagel took a little long. haven't tried their matcha but it also looked super green and i will absolutely be coming back here :) love u ape coffee read more

Located in a small shopping center with plenty of parking, so running in and out to grab your coffee is super easy! There is outside seating, a few two person tables. Inside is small so you'll just want to order and head out. The staff is super friendly and greets you as soon as you walk in. They had a few pastry items on display that look great and a small menu if you want to grab a bite. The drinks were good, but cant say anything amazing that other coffee shops don't provide. read more

I was in the Placentia area and decided to give this Ape location a try. It's definitely a much smaller spot, but they were quick! I ordered the Incredible Ape Matcha from the kiosk, and the drink came out fast. It was good and had a solid flavor but I have to say, the Orange location still hits the spot for me every time. There are a few tables outside if you want to sit, and the workers were friendly and welcoming. ape is pretty solid but is a different kind of matcha from what i'm used to... it's hard to describe but their matcha is really refreshing? i can't tell if i like it or not lol i got their banana matcha latte and the banana cream was yummy, pretty solid but i will say they put way too much honey at the top so when i mixed it the drink was too sweet and tasted too much like honey for me i also had their tuna melt because they do a little lunch deal where you can get a sandwich (tuna melt or egg salad) and drink which was nice! as a student, its a really good deal so i'd come back for that :) the sandwich itself, was just okay but i still enjoyed it -- i personally preferred the egg salad over the tuna melt study wise, they don't have any seats inside because the shop itself is small but they do offer seating outside so i would only study here on a day with nice weather read more

I tried 3 of their drink drinks here and they were all delicious - Cloud Ape, Snow Monkey and Money Business. The banana cream top is super yummy with the matcha and latte. I highly recc trying that first since it's more unique. The storefront is small with a few tables outside. Inside vibe is dark with a giant logo for taking pictures. read more

Finally came around to checking this place out and I'm so glad I did... I ran into the barista, Carmen, outside and she right away gave off friendly and chill vibes. When I finally went in, it took me a while to decide what I wanted to try. I have my favorites but I'm also a fan of trying new things. Not being able to decide (despite Carmen's helpful input), I tried both the Monkey Business and the Snow Monkey specialty coffees. Neither drink disappointed and still not entirely sure which I liked better! Probably the Snow Monkey, but still a tough decision to make. Although the shop is a little small, they make up for it with an inviting atmosphere. Definitely recommending this place to my coffee-lover friends! read more
Stopped by earlier today to check out the new ape location. I ordered the monkey business latte with oat milk and also the yogurt lemon blueberry loaf. I loved that the loaf wasn't too sweet. The mb latte was also delish - I also love the name of the drink because it reminds me of my 20's when I was forced to entertain a lot of monkey business that was a total waste of my time and energy. I'm so glad to see Ape coffee open a second location closer to me! While their first location is in Orange, I never went to try. They are still in soft opening and offering 10% off. We ordered the monkey business latte, matcha monkey business, and black sesame almond croissant. There aren't any tables inside but a good amount of seating outside. The drinks were solid! I don't even like banana, but I enjoyed the banana cream foam that complemented the matcha well. The black sesame almond croissant was warmed up and delicious as well. Came in after a shopping day desperate for coffee. I've never been there before but the two girls working were incredibly helpful. They were telling me their recommendations and showing me their new winter menu. I was debating between the tiramisu latte or the cookie butter latte. one girl said that the tiramisu was better. good thing i listened! this coffee was SO good. not too sweet! perfect amount of creaminess and the coffee flavor was divine. not bitter or burnt tasting at all. i will definitely be back! i think i found my new coffee place. read more

This is a really clever coffee place. The name says it all with cool menu items to match like the ape tuna crunch melt. I had the cappuccino which was really good!The girl taking orders was super nice and offered pastries that would tast good with cappuccino. It has alot of seating outside. None inside presently. We love this spot! It has my favorite banana coffees. My go to is the Monkey Business and my bf loves the snow ape. The baristas are so kind and helpful. Today we got to try their bacon chive pastry and a strawberry croissant. So yummy! The interior is well fitted to their monkey theme. read more

Stopped by for the first time 03/26 because our friend recommended them having great tasting coffee. My fiancé and I both ordered the "Monkey business" and my goodness. The taste was exquisite and rich. Definitely a treat worth trying !! The shop is small and cozy which makes it even better! Service was friendly and quick considering the baristas making everything from scratch. Can't wait to be back! read more

We ordered the Monkey Business (oatmilk sub), and it was one of the best cream tops I've ever had! The authentic banana flavor with a dash of cinnamon was buttah. I don't like sweet drinks, and I felt mine was perfectly balanced. Most importantly, it gave me the jolt I needed to make it through a long night. The cafe is tiny with zero indoor seating, but there are bistro tables outside. The baristas were friendly and welcoming, and I felt $6.50 for a fantastic coffee was reasonable. read more
