I let my nails dry for a whole day before putting socks/shoes on and it still did not dry, I ended up removing the polish and painting my toes myself the next day. I love going to Apex to get my beauty on! I typically go for the signature mani/pedi but yesterday (that's right they are open on Sunday) I went for the Shellac mani. If you haven't heard of the Shellac mani, imagine a mani without chips and smudges! The Shellac mani is $35 which is fair compared to other salons around town. I was in Nashville for a girl's weekend with 6 other friends. After calling a few places around town that had no openings for 7 pedicures, we called Apex. The man who answered the phone said they could do pedicures for 7 right away! We showed up and got started. When I told them I read about Apex on Yelp, the man was super nice and brought us complimentary glasses of wine. They were all very friendly and the price was definitely reasonable. Not totally sure why my concierge didn't recommend this spot. I called several of her recommendations, and they were all either closed or unavailable. Apex was super close to my hotel, and I didn't have to wait at all for a pedicure on NYE. David was very friendly and attentive and gave the best hand and foot massages I've had in a while. Stopped by on a whim after a long week of work travel. What started up as a pleasant experience ended with one of the most overpriced experiences. I asked for a Shellac Mani and Spa Pedicure. After Tina finished my pedicure, I noticed that several of nails were cut on diagonal angles, dried paint was on the sides of several toes, and my cuticles still needed attention. I addressed the nails and paint a few times but she did not seem to care and/or understand. I let it go as she began on my manicure. I stated several times what length and shape I wanted my nails using one as an example. I specifically stated round and not to angle the edges. While trying to correct them she kept making them more square. Finally, I filed them myself. After seeing my fingernail cuticles were still going to need attention at home, I asked to stop the manicure and just repair the crooked toe nails. She corrected one quite sloppily leaving polish around my toe, a still crooked nail, and bubbles in the polish. I decided to just pay and leave. She charged me $58 for something I'm going to have now dr be somewhere else and repair my toes and actually do my nails. I would never recommend this place as there was no concern on the technicians part that I was obviously not happy with the service. Especially, being charged for services that were never completed. I walked in for a full set of acrylics so it was cool they could get me in immediately. I hate to speak for the whole salon because of one technician but I was not happy with my nails at all. Unevenly shaped, too thick and not at all the length/shape I asked for (I even brought a photo). Nice, clean and very affordable but I'd def try another person next time. read more

I really dislike giving a negative review to a business. However, obviously, I am making an exception here. I just received a manicure and pedicure (for a male). The service I received was easily the worst and most useless I have ever gotten. I was never offered nor did the manicurist do a buff or polish on either procedure. She spent a couple of minutes snipping the skin. She never touched the cuticles. Her filing was perfunctory leaving the nails with peaks and valleys and even worse, she was completely distracted, often gazing to her right, at other employees and to her left out the window into the parking lot. When she returned her attention, she had no clue where she had left off and would start on another nail, leaving the original one unfinished. I had to go home and get out a nail file and finish each nail myself. I left little better than how I came in but less $40 (and yes, being a softy, plus a $5 tip). I was charged the same as a woman getting nail polish, yet she never touched my nail surfaces. I get the impression she may have been the manager or at least in charge at the moment. I would not recommend that anyone patronize this shop. read more

I wanted to like this place, it's convenient, staff is nice, a little overpriced but not horrendous. However, after trying three different girls, I've concluded that they just don't do a great job. The first time my gel manicure (yes gel) chipped 3 days later. After paying $73 for a gel mani and regular pedi, half of my nails bubbled and peeled right off. I went back to ask them to fix it. They wound up giving me a polish change (got my toes repolished too as those came out uneven the first time) and was charged $40. I don't mind paying but I expect a good product. My toes chipped a few days later and the gel mani just looked old really quick. I gave them one last try and just felt like the same thing happened. Not sure if it's because the products they use are old or if they just don't take their time...either way I'm done trying. This place is too pricey to offer up mediocre results. read more

I come here often because it's convenient. I've been waited on by several people but today I stopped in fir a last minute pedicure. I got someone different, LiLi. I had the best experience. I never had anyone her to ask me if I wanted a design. I said sure. It's not my usual this. I'm pretty basic. I would probably come here for the massage chair alone, but the perfect and inexpensive pedicure doesn't hurt. It's not the most upscale place that you can go to (think your average nail salon, not spa), but I'll happily trade less frou frou details for a smaller price tag. This place was down the street so I decided to try it out. I went once and it was ok. Not terrible but not great. I went back last Sunday and this will probably be my last time. I got there 2 hours before closing for a deluxe mani/pedi. I was finished by 30-45 minutes before they closed. The lady who did my nails rushed throughout the manicure and then only gave me 5 minutes to dry my nails. They messed up in the car so I came back in to get them fixed, but the job wasn't that great to begin with anyways and the manicure only looked decent for about 24 hours before it started to chip and crack. Chose to go here for a gel mani on my lunch break because it's close to my office. They had me in and out in 15 minutes and the manicure is GARBAGE. All of my cuticles are stinging from being cut (and some bled) and the gel itself is all over the skin around my nails. Just had a terrible experience at Apex Nails. Went in to get a simple manicure, salon manager, Anthony was to do it. He was a bit rude, when I asked how they clean and sterilize their tools. He told me they wash them with water and I should be satisfied with that. Well, need less to say, I'm not satisfied with plain water to sterilize. I have no idea why Apex has such bad reviews on here. I just went for the first time and had one of the best experiences ever. I walked in at 9 right when they opened and was immediately attended to. My pedicure was nearly perfect and my cuticles were cut to perfection while done in a timely manner (30 minutes). I then was able to match my exact color on my toes with my gel nail color and was seated directly after my pedicure. My nail technician even carried my shoes and bag to the table for me. She did a test nail to reassure that I liked my color which I loved. My manicure, again, was done within 40 minutes and was nearly perfect. Gel mani and pedi was $65, an extremely reasonable price. Ok if you are looking for a quick mani/pedi. I've mentioned before I get my nails done for the experience- to relax and enjoy some alone time. Basic pedicure is $30, a couple dollars more than my favorite spot in Green Hills (I keep trying to find a place closer with less traffic to battle). While my tech was very kind, the experience was just meh. First thing that stood out- there were limit color and brand Selection in polish- OPI only in non-gel. I found a color I liked and sat done. The chairs were in good condition and everything seemed clean. The second thing that stood out was I was never offered a drink. All other nail salons have offered water, soda or wine. I didn't see a single person with even a water. The pedicure turned out just fine, nothing I couldn't have accomplished on my own at home though. I have read the other reviews and I felt I needed to add my own voice. I've only received one mani here so I can't speak to that, but I've always enjoyed pedicures. I have found the staff to be very friendly, just not talkative. They are super fast, but I have not felt rushed. The polish holds up great. They do not give you drinks and there is no music. It's a salon not spa atmosphere but the prices reflect that fact. They carry OPI, China glaze, and Esse for the non gel polishes. Massage chairs are pleasant. read more
