I definitely understand the hype about Apocalypse BBQ!!! I've been wanting to try this place for years and finally got around to it a couple weeks ago! The evening we stopped by, Yelp was down and people were not able to join their waitlist virtually which caused the line to be even longer. But the staff were kind and passed out fries to those some of the people who were waiting outside. After a nearly 2 hour wait, we were seated and our server was great. The other servers and staff came to check on our table and the other tables around us multiple times as well, so overall I would say the restaurant gives really good service. They did well with making the decor fit the theme of the restaurant, even down to the faucets and knobs of the bathroom sinks. We were a little confused about the very loud electronic music that was playing throughout, but it didn't take away from our experience. My cousin and I ordered a half rack of cafecito ribs, the prime brisket, pulled pork, cowboy link, corn bread, coleslaw, French fries, mac & cheese and a chocolate chip cookie for dessert. The food was served within a matter of minutes which was great as we were very hungry after waiting a couple of hours, but it was also confusing because you would think the wait times wouldn't be so long if the service is so fast. Our favorite bites were definitely the cowboy link, pulled pork, coleslaw, cornbread & chocolate chip cookie, so you should definitely give those a try, but you can't go wrong because everything we ordered was delicious. The only thing I probably wouldn't reorder was the mac and cheese because it was just okay. Overall a great experience and if you're craving BBQ food, don't mind a little wait, and are in the area, I highly recommend giving Apocalypse a try! (Pro-tip if you use the Yelp waitlist it'll be much faster)
THIS DEFINES MIAMI BBQ! Everything was perfect! I was lucky enough to sample most items. The ribs were my favorite, perfect taste and texture! The Brisket and chicken were done to perfection! Brisket and cheese empanada was an amazing starter. Service made me feel like I was in a 5 star restaurant. Absolutely the Best BBQ in Miami!
Although this place is a drive from where I live, it was so worth it. Arrive early as they don't take reservations. We got there right before they opened so we were seated fast and as we were walking in, we got greeted by every single staff person. Our server was super friendly and explained the dishes and made some recommendations. This is a bbq place with a twist. The twist is that they combine Latin flavors so the bbq is different. Very very tasty!! The cafecito ribs are rubbed in cafecito for example. The brisket bacon (starter) is pork belly that is seasoned like a brisket but fried like bacon! The corn bread is shaped as a skull which was super cool and unique. The place looks more like a dinner and plays loud music but it all works! Food is brought out in a timely manner as well. Definitely recommend!!
Solid place; get here early. Parking near it next to mall sucks. Most of your party has to be there. Brisket not bad; ribs, wings, bacon and sausage banger. Sweet and crispy side vs Texan smoke and spice side l. Would return. Only in South Fl would they have coffee coated ribs and skull shaped corn bread. Good waitstaff; nothing to complain about
After participating in a Yelp event last year for its sister restaurant, LaLa's, I finally had the full Apocalypse experience. And what better way to do your first run than to have your homies invite you out for your birthday! Pulled up on a Friday night at 8pm, no resy. There was a minimal wait (literally all of 10 mins total) and was offered a free beer while I waited, an Outlaw light from Colorado, which was actually pretty good. Got sat in the booth right in middle of joint and it was off to the races lol. This spot offers cocktails to get your appetite going, and make most ingredients that are going into your drinks in-house. All of the cocktails we had were good, which everyone was happy about. I started with an Atomic Passion, which was Mezcal and Passionfruit, followed by the Flamed Guava (also Mezcal). My friends had the Smoked Ember OF, and the Lavender Lady. For the chowdown, here's what we ordered: - Smoked Wings - Cafecito Ribs (Half-Rack) - 1lb Brisket - Cornbread Skullz (3) - Elote - Potato Salad - Baked Beans - Coleslaw - Kids burger con papitas Mac & Cheese was sold out unfortunately, but that just means we'll have to come back for it. Brisket and the potato salad were my favorite things out of the order. On a solo mission I would definitely order those two things again. Cornbread was as good as I had heard, also enjoyed the ribs. The "cafecito" touch was nice, don't recall seeing that anywhere else. The pickles get an honorable mention because they was PICKLING! They low-key tasted like cucumbers but sweet-ish. Slap a few on the Brisket and whoaaa Nelly! My homies' son enjoyed his burger and didn't let anyone take it or box it, he simply took his time enjoying. Nearing the end of our meal, I got caught off guard with a LOUD A$$ Happy Birthday Song and got properly embarrassed lol my friend joked that they turned the music off randomly and boom! Our server, Mikey, arranged everything seamlessly and we were graciously offered a shot by the management team. Big thanks to everyone for making it a fire first experience. Excited to come back for what didn't get in belly this time!
Look to be honest this place is a 6.5 out of 10. I loved the empanadas, the pull pork was finger licking good. No the corn bread was meh, I would prefer they put the honey on the side. The bacon brisket wasn't ny fav either and the mac and cheese was good but make sure you eat it fast because if ir gets cold it isn't as good. I will probably be back just for the empanadas and the margaritas but other than that it was meh! Service was great I believe my waiter was named Chris and he was amazing very talkative and detailed. The atmosphere was great loved the music.
First things first HOLY MOLY! The staff is incredible, treating you like family, making sure you're happy with everything and attending to you pretty often. The inside is cozy giving old school diner vibes but with a modern twist. The food is divine, there wasn't a single item I wouldn't recommend. I'm also not a coffee guy and let me tell you, their cafecito rub and sauces are INSANE! Everything is tender, full of flavor. Cornbread is amazing, beans were amazing, Mac and cheese was amazing, def recommend the loaded one. But the wings, my goodness, we ended up ordering a second serving of them. To end it all with the cookies, let's just say well worth.
We came back and the service as always was spectacular! The restaurant was a little loud but it was a good time. And the food delicious. But the desserts omg they were amazing! The chocolate chip cookie was already delicious but now they added ice cream to it and it just hits the spot. They also added a new dessert churro cornbread topped with ice cream and it was just mouthwatering! As soon as I saw it I had to ask the gentleman bringing out what it was
We finally decided to brave the lines and try this very popular place. The good thing is that although they don't take reservations, they allowed us to get on the wait list online. But, we still had to wait an hour. They're very nice, they have free water and you're able to order drinks while you wait. But, as expected, the food (although very good) was not worth the wait. We ordered the platter and the meat was dry. The corn was delicious and so was the mac & cheese. The service was very friendly, and the food actually came out pretty quickly once we finally sat down. If you can go with little or no wait, definitely worth a try but don't expect spectacular food!
First time here a little hiccup with the table but quickly resolved. Apocalypse BBQ doesn't disappoint. The BRISKET out of this world. The cafecito RIBS from the moon EXCELLENT. Mac and Cheese so cheesy yummy. Cole slaw a bit dissatisfied needs a bit more flavor. They have a good selection of beers and cocktails. Overall magnificent. We recommend.
Amazing experience. Having had such a great experience in a very long time. I forgot I was in Miami Service was superb. Tati went above and beyond. She was super sweet. Honestly, Everyone was super polite., happy and attentive. Great casual and friendly atmosphere. Food was outstanding. The hype is real! Meats were just juicy and delicious. Mac and cheese was also very tasty. Everything was served warm and perfectly cooked. Friday specials were a great deal with $10 sandwiches and $1 PBR beer. Will visit again!

I've been here four times already and it never disappoints. Everything is seasoned so well.The staff is also amazing and so friendly, great customer hospitality. I can absolutely say this is the best bbq restaurant in miami. Fair warning, you might be waiting in line for a bit and they don't do online orders but the wait is so worth it! read more

When we got to apocalypse there was a 3 hour wait. They wrote our name and we could check our place in line we ended up waiting for about 1 hours and 45 min do not let the long line discourage you because the food is AMAZING! It's so wonderful seeing Local Miami people succeed! I don't have anything negative to say at all! My top pics were the loaded Mac and cheese, the empanada and the Brisket. But honestly can't go wrong with anything I also love their chocolate chip cookies! Once you are seated the service is quick and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The owner even came and gave us an explanation on the cooking process of the brisket and ribs. Would recommend over and over! read more
We arrived for the grand opening at 5pm and the wait was quoted at two hours, but we were called in for a table after waiting an hour and it was worth it. The food and service remained top tier and the place was beautiful; absolutely loved the upgraded ambiance (bougie Kendall) . Justin was our server but the entire team helped out and the owner even passed by to say hello. This was my friend's first time there and loved it! We can't wait to go back and you check it out to. Apocalypse BBQ absolutely lived up to the hype--and let me tell you, it was worth every minute of the hour-and-a-half wait. The moment your party is finally called inside, you're welcomed with genuine warmth by some of the friendliest staff around (Taty was great!). You know a place is special when the servers describe each platter with pure enthusiasm, smacking their lips as they share their personal favorites. The new, larger space has a cool yet simple vibe, but the real star is the intoxicating aroma wafting from the smokers outside--it sets the tone for the feast ahead. We were a party of six on a Wednesday afternoon, and we didn't hold back. We ordered nearly everything on the menu, and the highlights were unforgettable: the Cafecito-rubbed ribs, the smoky, flavorful Cafecito-rubbed wings (a steal at just $1 each on Wednesdays), the sweet-and-savory pineapple piggies, the indulgent smoked loaded mac and cheese, and the perfectly caramelized smoked plantains. But the true showstopper? The brisket--hands down the best you'll find in Dade County. The cut, the flavor, the melt-in-your-mouth texture--it was pure butter. We over-ordered (no regrets) and had plenty left for a second dinner and next-day lunch. And whatever you do, don't skip the empanadas or the cornbread--they're must-tries! Delicious BBQ in Kendall? Say no more. The drinks are delicious and made to perfection. The ribs fall off the bone, the burgers are juicy and cheesy. The cornbread is to die for. I'm so picky about my BBQ and this was a 10/10 experience. I came from North Miami Beach and waited 45 mins for the first available option. It is a small space so seats are limited, thus the long wait periods. The food comes out quickly so don't worry lol. They are operating in a busy golf community and while there is plenty parking available, there is lots of foot traffic from the nearby courses. While you wait, they offer complimentary miller high life and water which is thoughtful. They have a few folding chairs and even a Domino table to pass the time. Our names were called and we sat at the bar and while it's a busy atmosphere, they are blasting Latin tunes like salsa, bachata, reggaeton etc. It was such a vibe! I was dancing in my chair the entire time. Ofcourse, we started with drinks, the smoked ember old fashion and the inferno margarita. Fire and definitely potent. Our bartender Freddy and the other gentleman (totally forgot his name - sorry!) took care of us. We ordered the bacon brisket and fyi, the portions are huge! I got the Wild Boar 2.0 and baked beans and my friend ordered the corn and cafecito ribs. The wild boar was huge and my eyes were bigger than my stomach so I ordered a double lol. It came stacked with the perfect savory sweet elements like melted cheese, crispy onions and even jalapeños that married so well together. It wasn't too spicy if you're concerned with the jalapeños but you can always order without. The cafecito ribs!?! Omg you must try. Perfectly smoked with this sauce that is finger licking good. We took food to go because we were so stuffed but you definitely get your money's worth. For my next trip, I gotta try those wings and cornbread! I brought my niece here as she told me she craving a delicious burger. I automatically thought of Apocalypse BBQ. We came on Saturday around 4 pm, so naturally there was an hour wait time. I told my niece it was worth the wait. Once we were at the table, we ordered the Wild Boar, french fries, corn bread with Lavender and Lemon Spritzer Mocktails. We got everything relatively quickly and loved every single thing. The Wild Boar was so tasteful. It had so many ingredients but it went so well together. The french fries were crispy and paired perfectly with the sauces and the corn bread is a must have. The mocktail was very refreshing. The attention here is always amazing. When I asked one of the staff what sauces do they have, they offered to bring me a flight. This small gesture made the experience so much better. All five sauces I tried were so good, I still do not know which one I liked the most. We also got the chocolate chip cookie, which is finger licking good. We got the cookie on the house. This small gesture made our day. My niece thought I was exaggerating when I described how delicious the food here was, but when she tried it, she shared the same opinion. I keep hearing good things about this place, so I decided to pass by and check it out. Wow the brisket was delicious and I like the combination with the mustard and pickle together it brings out the flavor of the sandwich. The brisket empanada was really good and there was a good crunch from each bite and the skull cornbread was wow. It was very delicious. I was surprised the wait wasn't that long when I ordered to go. Was able to try apocalypse on the 4th of July and they were absolutely packed but the hour wait was worth it. We started with the wings which had a very unique sweet smokey sauce. The food came out fairly quick. The brisket was amazingly soft and tender and the pulled pork sandwich was stacked and delicious. The sides were also all worth it with the corn bread and beans being my favorite. Definitely worth the hype and I'm excited to return to try more menu items read more

Food and service were amazing! The staff really explains everything to you and makes you feel like a regular even if it's your first time. The Wild Boar 2.0 was perhaps one of the best burgers I've ever had and the wins were 10/10. I thought it would go crazy for the cafecito ribs and brisket but I'm sticking to the wings, burgers, and pulled pork next time. read more
Apocalypse bbq is always super packed on the weekends. We tried to get there early to secure a table, and we were a still a little too late. We ended up sitting on the counter they have along the window. A bit uncomfortable for 3 people but we've been dying to try the food so we made it work! I ordered the jefe burger as I've heard really great things about their burgers. First off, I really appreciated the bun the burger was served on. I don't think I've had a burger at a restaurant with this type of bread. I like the cheese and sauce the burger came with. They don't ask how you want it cooked so they're all cooked the same. None of their entrees come with sides, which is kind of a bummer. I ordered a side of corn bread and fries. I love the shape of their corn bread. It's a bit pricey for only one piece. The honey it's served with complements it well. If I'm ever in the mood for a good burger, I'd definitely go back! Hopefully next time we'll be able to sit at an actual table. read more

Let me start with the good. The ribs are meaty and juicy, having said that , the sauces they are made with are way too sweet and it's just not what I'd call good BBQ, if they had a regular sauce then I'd go back for them and only them because the pork belly is just 90% of pure fat and kind of slimy, the Mac and cheese is flavorless and dry. The service is exceptional and the ambiance is pretty nice. It's just not my kind of BBQ. read more

Let me tell you about this extraordinary place. We kept seeing this establishment all over social media and decided to check it out for ourselves. It definitely did not disappoint. There was a line when we arrived but we waited no more than 10 minutes. They have the seating down to a science. From the moment we sat down we were waited on continuously. Not once did we have to ask for refills. We had Jean as our server, and he awesome. Took the time to explain and answer all questions. Once the food arrived it was phenomenal. The presentation and flavors were amazing! It was flavorful and mouth watering. We ordered numerous things off the menu to really get a feel for all they had to offer. Not only was the food great, the portions were very filling. Needless to say we needed to go boxes. The atmosphere itself was super cool. Vinyls and turntable at the bar that play over the speakers. Decided to try something new and this place on my list. Loved the location (not in the middle a busy hustle and bustle area). We arrived and were seated rather quickly. The restaurant is small in size however that was very appealing. Not the typical Miami vibe it was very laid back. Our waitress (Helen) was amazing. She was very attentive as well and checked in on us constantly. The food was better than expected. The brisket empanada was excellent and the side sauce was a perfect touch. The ribs were good. The loaded Mac & Cheese was really good. The corn bread with the side of honey was also good. However the pulled pork was OFF the Chain. Best pulled pork in Miami no contest. The music selection was amazing. Like I said not your typical Miami vibe. The serving staff was amazing and Helen is the bomb. We will defiantly come back to try more things. read more

Least busy days and times?
If I have to guess, I would say right as they open during the week day. I went on a weekday at 6 PM (after work) and we barely had a wait time and got our food right away. It got busier once I left around 8 PM.
Many reviews say the food runs out quickly. Is there a number to call or message to check what's available before heading over to the establishment?
I tried looking for a phone number everywhere with no luck. If you find it please share. Also I believe they dont do takeout on the weekends.

Yes take out is available. Best time to go is before it opens which is 11 am I'd go before that
Came Saturday 7/22 at 5:15pm. Not taking any guest, closed for private event. Came last weekend and they ran out of all smoked meats. We drive from Downtown so it can be disappointing. Since no phone # is listed can you put updates on your website?
