One of the worst meals I've had lately. They serve no name soft drinks, but charge almost $3. Most of the wait staff and busboys look like they share the same probation officer. Service was very slow. Everything on the place has more advertising on it than a NASCAR racecar. I had a cheeseburger and fries. The fries were cooked about 5 minutes too long, the burger was dry, and the bun was toasted stale. My wife had a julie bacon hash brown omelette that was horrible and the grits were instant and terrible. The "Remodel" isn't a remodel. They yanked the big bar, and left linoleum or vinyl tiles in place. Basic overflow is this place is trying to squeeze every nickle till the buffalo farts. Ordered country fried steak with gravy, grits, white toast and two eggs over easy with coffee. The eggs were alright, but the rest of the order was less than so-so. The steak, if you want to call it that was overcooked. The gravy had the consistency of mashed potatoes. The grits were a lumpy watery goo and the toast was soggy and cold. Coffee was alright, but $2.79 is a little expensive for a cup. I was not happy my bacon came out limp cold and greasy to start with.. Then seeing that I was charged $44 bucks for two pancakes and crappy bacon milk and my friend had eggs benedict with a tea. Now I will never eat or recommend this place to anyone.. one thing to serve crap food its another to outright steal from your customers...... read more

Definitely have to say I'm impressed today with Apollo Diner! We placed an Uber Eats order and after delivery delays (close to 2 hrs) I called the diner to see if Uber Eats picked it up. Nope! Uber Eats had an issue getting drivers so the diner delivered it for us - wow! The breakfast was delicious - loved the crispy hash browns - and it was nicely packaged. Apollo Diner has a mixed menu featuring pancake breakfasts and omelets, burgers, Greek salads and other Greek taste treats, sandwiches, and dinner options. They do have beer including Florida Lager along with soft drinks, coffee and tea. We didn't try any of the wonderful dessert offerings like apple pie, brownies and the like. My husband's patty melt came rare and my boring burger was cooked well done, both were tasty and filling. Our waiter was a mind reader, quick and efficient. Bathrooms were clean. read more

Warning for those ordering to-go: As far as "greasy spoon" diners go, Apollo's is what you'd expect in fare and price. Nothing mind-blowing, but the food is filling, with decently-sized portions that are affordable. These reasons, as well as their close location to our work, are why my co-workers and I have been ordering here on-and-off for several years. We look forward to "diner Sundays" on our weekend shifts. But for the past few months, the quality and execution of our food has been inexcusably bad. For the past four weeks alone we have never had a pick-up order be correct, no matter how many times we have our orders read-back, nor whom we talk to, or who we send to pick up our food. We use our lunch breaks early to pick up our food and it's never ready within the time-frame given; this results in a mad-dash from the kitchen staff to throw together our food haphazardly. If we try to prevent this, we're left with freezing cold, runny food that was prepared too early. We started cutting back on how many people were ordering and even with one or two basic orders, side dishes are missing, orders are completely wrong, or the food is soggy and cold. For the most part, all staff I have spoken to have been friendly and apologetic -- but it just doesn't excuse the poor quality of food that we're paying for and going out of our way to obtain. Something that us healthcare workers used to look forward to once a week is becoming a chore. I cannot speak for the in-house dining experience (it just isn't an option for us), but that might be the better way to go. read more

A great place for breakfast. Today I had a nice cup of coffee and OJ. Corned beef hash, eggs over medium, hash browns and white toast. All were very tasty and delivered super fast. Our server was friendly and checked on us a couple times to make dure we were hapoy with our orders. Breakfast for two under $20. Good deal! read more

Its been almost a year sence I ate at Apollo Dinner. I was in the area and thought what the heck. I would try it out with the new owners. I was greeted warmly by the wait staff as I entered, the service was quick. The food and the atmosphere are still mediocre at best. I even splurged on a piece of pie. I think the pie was borderline, probably kept in the fridge a few days to long. The staff was better, but my score doesn't change. Apollo is average at best. read more

Awful new owners/managers plus declining food quality plus inattentive new serving staff equals a seriously disappointing experience. My family has been eating at Apollo for 20 years. This place used to be awesome. New owners came in a few months ago and are wrecking havoc on food quality and service. Our server Saturday, April 28, 2018, told the owner, Maria, that the egg whites in my over medium eggs weren't cooked. Maria said, "tell them if they want the whites cooked they should go to McDonald's". Maria also walks around the restaurant refilling patrons' coffee and loudly badmouthing only the original servers (making sure she never complains about the new servers she has hired). The photo was the vegetable of the day on April 5; "broccoli mix." To be fair there was broccoli in it, but the mix was in this onion flavored jelly that was thick and gross and the consistency of gelatin. The other vegetable that same day was green beans that were canned beans with shredded carrots and onions in an onion sauce. Previous to the new owners, the broccoli mix was steamed veggies; nothing special but at least felt a little more healthy and you could taste something other than onion. Bottom line, don't waste your money or your time at Apollo. The once diamond in the rough is again just a crappy and disrespectful chunk of carbon. read more

This is one of the more difficult reviews I've had to write. I've been here once for breakfast and once for lunch. I got an omelet for breakfast and a turkey club for lunch. Both meals were reasonably priced and pretty good. Why the three stars then? Well, though it's a typical diner atmosphere the "decor" isn't much of anything. The tables and seats weren't disgustingly dirty or anything but they weren't cleaned recently. But the main reason I'm giving three stars is the attitude. Generally, I don't mind not being given smiles at every turn but it seems like just your presence in the establishment annoys the employees. In my two visits I actually did not see one employee smile, whether at my table or any other table. There's a difference between a restaurant that doesn't have the over-friendly servers found at a chain and a restaurant whose employees seem put off by your very existence. Today was my birthday, and with the new baby, I wasn't expecting to get too much celebrating in, but I was really looking forward to a relaxing day at home with the wife and kiddo. When I woke up, my wife really surprised me by running out to grab us breakfast. She came home with food from Apollo. While we hadn't been in a little while, I quickly remembered my torrid love affair with their Eggs Benedict. Even packaged for take-out, the eggs barely suffered in their to-go container, arriving to my plate (a full 10 minutes away) still runny. Perhaps it is just the chef in me, but there is something a little sensual about watching the deep gold yolk running over and into the pale yellow ocean of the (obviously) homemade Hollandaise sauce. A little over the top? Perhaps, but they really are that good. The home fries were, well home fries, tasty, and crisp in all the right places. It being my b-day, the wife also ordered me a side of blueberry pancakes, my other Apollo fave. To be honest, I was way too full to put away more than a couple bites, but they were fluffy and delicious as usual. We have been to Apollo to eat-in several times as well. The food is always super fast, regardless of how busy they are and coffee cups are always well tended. We've always been very well taken care of, happy with the service, and really happy with the food. On one occasion, we stopped-in late morning-early afternoon not realizing that it was a weekday and we'd be too late for breakfast. We decided to stay and try the lunch. While okay, It was not on par with their breakfast, and needless to say, we have not shown up too late for breakfast since. read more

I had a business meeting at the Apollo Diner this week. Service was all over the place. I think there were only two folks working the entire room. Coffee was weak, although the refills were fairly speedy. I ordered an eggs benedict flo with hashbrowns. The spinach was obviously the frozen kind, and the whole thing was swimming in hollandaise sauce. The hashbrowns were crispy, but one of the few redeeming qualities of the dining experience. Prices are cheap, but the axiom of "you get what you pay for" holds true. TLDR: Not sure why everyone is over the moon on this below average greasy spoon. read more

The Apollo Diner follows the spirit of most diners in keeping things simple. Whether it was the menu or the daily specials, I understood everything. The service is great. The server check on you on a regular basis, ensuring your drink is topped off or if you have any questions. I tend to go into diners with low expectations. But I'll admit, their selection is pretty broad, and that was only what was on the menu. Overall I'd recommend eating here, but I found the fries to be over fried, so I'd avoid those on my next visit. read more

Ordered breakfast on a Sunday from DoorDash and was very pleased with the food. We ordered a few different things to try as much as possible. The country skillet was great, French toast was delicious, pancake order was huge, biscuits and gravy, homefries and bacon was enjoyed by all. We went there for breakfast today snd Wow! What a surprise!! I had scrambled eggs with jalapenos added, keilbasa, home fries and rye toast. It was absolutely delicious!! Perfectly cooked to order. The iced tea was great. My wife had 2 eggs over medium, corned beef hash, home fries and rye toast. Cooked perfectly also. Our waitress was so friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We appreciated her very much. The whole meal was delicious and very reasonably priced. The restaurant was wuaint and cleaned. Good crowd too. Highly recommend Apollo Diner to everyone.
