I've been coming here for a few years and have always had good service. Cleanings seem thorough and Dr. Safa checks my teeth out to make sure everything looks good. She and the other staff have always been friendly and efficient. Had a bump on my tongue that they advised me to get checked out, so they do look out to catch possible trouble issues early. Today was my first visit as a Medicare patient so I didn't have any expectations. That being said, for anyone that does, this office will blow you away! My first top was with Azadeh (Ozi) for Xray's and cleaning. She was so professional and informative, but also so pleasant and personable. I am a people person so I always enjoy meeting people that have great personalities, and Ozi doesn't disappoint. Next was my short but pleasant meeting with Dr. Safra, who again was so professional and pleasant. Now it was time to speak to the office manager Angela. She was so great at explaining the cost of everything and how much my part would be. She is the perfect type of person that you want when it comes down to that type of job. I had a great experience at Apple! First, I love how they open extra early on Fridays - helps us folks that work a 9-5. Next, the cleaning was done quickly and thoroughly. I appreciated the honest feedback about how to improve. Also, I like how they also offer orthodontics. I do wish they were also open on Saturdays or gave a giftbag (mini-toothpaste, mini-floss, etc.), but those are minor in the grand scheme of things. read more

I had severe wisdom tooth pain, looking like inflammation, sores and possible infection - so, I was desperate to find help the same day. Generally, I had a good experience with reception, they staff picked up the phone quickly and were efficient with getting an appointment scheduled the same morning. Unfortunately my hopes were not communicated to the general dentist nor the surgeon, who kept me waiting from 10:30 to 12:15, and only saw me for a few minutes in which they took one xray and the surgeon forcefully felt around my gums causing lots of pain. I was then given the prescribed treatment by the reception staff, which was an upcharge of $4.5k post in network insurance because they recommended two gum grafts, gum irrigation, and some kind of gum regeneration all without saying a word about what my condition was or why they recommended grafts for a simple extraction. The one plus is I got antibiotics, and the staff tried their best to assure me that they could relay the referral to another dentistry. And on top of that I was then informed that the surgeon was leaving at 1pm so by the time they upsold me I was told I wouldnt even be treated that day. I believe this was Dr Eric Osmolinski. I don't have anything good to say about him. read more

More cons than pros for me. This place strikes me as a money grab, and I will not be returning. My teeth feel worse after visiting this establishment. Pros: Great technology, camera, big screen TV to zoom in on X-rays/photos. the Dentist did a great job showing potential issues. The dentist and hygienist didn't hesitate to point out any minor defect/imperfection, it's great to be aware of current or potential issues. Cons: From the moment I walked in, I felt I was caught in a dental money grabbing situation. They asked if I want a fluoride treatment before they even saw my teeth, which I declined after I found out it wasn't covered by my insurance. Cleaning: This was the quickest cleaning I've ever had; It felt rushed and my gums were barely touched. The hygienist was rudely persistent in convincing me to do a deep cleaning. She also didn't offer to have me rinse out after the cleaning. The dentist said most of my fillings are old and need to be replaced. When I saw the quote for next steps i was shocked to find all the work they quoted and the price. She also admitted much of the work isn't urgent. I also felt my old fillings were being excessively picked at. Before coming here I had no issues with pain/discomfort in my teeth. Now months after my visit, one of my old fillings cracked. My other tooth is sensitive to temperature and potentially has a crack in the filling. read more

I had an AMAZING experience at Apple Dental. I highly recommend them. I went there seeking a second opinion because the first dentist I saw made me feel like they were trying to scam me and didn't take the time to explain anything. My experience at Apple Dental was the complete opposite. Every single staff member I interacted with was incredibly kind and helpful. The front desk workers were patient and understanding when I had complications getting information from my previous dentist. They helped me problem-solve and even assisted in avoiding additional charges. The dental hygienist was wonderful--she clearly explained everything to me and shared information that no one had ever told me before. I honestly wish I had known some of it years ago! The dentist was also very kind and explained potentially scary things in a calm, reassuring way. I felt safe and informed the entire time. The insurance coordinator was amazing as well. She helped me create a plan for my upcoming dental care and took the time to walk me through different options. She also helped me navigate an upcoming change in my insurance. She made sure I thoroughly understood everything and offered genuine advice based on what she would do in my situation. I am so incredibly appreciative of everyone's kindness, thoroughness, and patience. It truly felt like they cared about my experience and treated me as more than just another patient. First they are thief! They try to take an advantage from you! My copay is $45 but they charged me $50. That's the first red flag how much they care the money instead of patient health( I don't know they call the people even patient. I think they call us "CUSTOMER". They quoted $8000 for my gum problem! Can you imagine? It is f... $8000 even if have an insurance. I asked her ( I don't know her name) I have an insurance why this is extremely expensive. She said " she said oh yes you have but it is based on negotiation! Excuse me! What you mean negotiation? She showed me from the treatment list they quoted. There is only one is actually $1000 but we give you for $250 since you have an insurance. She did not bother herself to explain the other treatments! That's the front desk part! The doctor part is another ridiculous story! I am a 35 years old man and I only had a chance to get a braces at this age and I think that's none of them business to ask " WHY I AM GETTING BRACES AT THIS AGE? This is the first question the doctor asked me even before says "Hello". I am sorry but that's not your freaking business to ask me! The all stuff and the doctor was extremely rude and dishonest! They only want your money not your health to get better! Just be careful folks. If you have a change to find different doctor please do that. Went here because my new insurance wouldn't cover my old dentist, and this was the best option. I was told that the $51 fluoride treatment was optional, and not covered by my insurance, so I opted out. The standard cleaning was extremely brusque and quick, felt like 10 minutes, and very shallow. There was a lack of bedside manners; I wasn't offered to rinse my mouth afterwards, or how to indicate if I was in pain. Afterwards, they recommend I get a deep cleaning and fillings, which amounted to $1435. I have never been quoted so much by any dentist. I've seen other reviews that warn of being charged high prices for unnecessary procedures, or being told that a deep cleaning was unnecessary after getting a second opinion. read more

Slightly Disappointed with Apple Dental's I recently visited Apple Dental, hoping for a straightforward experience to get a tooth extracted. Initially, I called to schedule an appointment, and they were efficient in getting me set up. Once I arrived, though it felt a bit odd having to pay a $5 waiting fee just to sit and wait for my appointment. When the staff finally called me back, I was hopeful. I explained that I needed a tooth pulled, and they promptly took X-rays. However, when the doctor came back, the quoted price for the extraction and bone graft shocked me--$2,400! I mean, I understand the costs associated with dental work, but that felt excessive, especially when I was looking for a simple extraction. When I inquired about options to reduce costs--such as removing the bone graft--I was met with a firm response that the doctor wouldn't consider it. It felt like there wasn't much flexibility in their approach, which added to my frustration. I left with the unsatisfactory suggestion that I could finance the procedure, which honestly felt more discouraging than reassuring. While I appreciated their professionalism, I expected a bit more empathy when discussing treatment options and costs. I believe there's room for improvement in how they communicate with patients, especially regarding understanding different budgets and providing transparent alternatives. Overall, I wish I had a more positive experience at Apple Dental. Hopefully, they can work on their patient engagement in the future! Update !!! I'm so over dental practices that try to scare you into believing that you need thousands of dollars of dental work. I have been a faithful 2x/year dental patient with good teeth. My dentist retired last year and I had to find someone new. A friend told me about Apple Dental and so I thought I'd try them. The first issues I had were administrative. I had a hard time communicating with them to upload the records from my previous dentist and there was one snafu after another with trying to fill out and upload the new patient forms. I went to the appointment, was seen by the dentist for the initial exam and beginning of the cleaning process. The dentist left and then the fun began. The first thing was the sales person that came in to tell me that I need a night guard for several hundred dollars and that I needed a deep cleaning that was going to be $1800. I was stunned. How is it that the dentist I'd been seeing regularly for 10 years never mentioned either of these things to me? I declined the unnecessary services and just wanted to finish my cleaning. The hygenist came in and did the polishing and then said I was going to be given a flouride treatment. I never asked for a fluoride treatment so had no idea why I was being given one, but it appeared to be standard with a cleaning at this practice. The next thing I knew, the hygienist was painting my teeth with this sticky white substance. It was everywhere! On my teeth, my gums, the roof of my mouth, my tongue, my lips, etc. It was gross and was making my mouth dry and sticky. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, the hygenist tells me that I need to leave it on for 30 minutes (I'm due at work in fifteen) and then brush it out. WTF!!! I was very upset at this because no one asked or explained what they were going to do or what it involved. While still at the dentist's office I tried rinsing it out, brushing it out, scrubbing it off my teeth with paper towel, rubbing my lips and cheeks raw and it still wasn't coming off. I was livid. They weren't even able to get it off with their tools when I insisted that they remove this crap from my mouth. To add insult to injury, I discovered that the price they quoted me for cleaning included this "fluoride treatment" for $51 that I was never given a choice about. They did refund my $51. Instead of going straight to work, I had to go home and scrub my teeth, gums, tongue, and roof of my mouth with my electric toothbrush and triple floss to get the bulk of the "fluoride treatment" out of my mouth and off my face. I was 30 minutes late for work. I will never darken their doors again and I hope this tale of caution prevents you from having my experience. read more

They just wanted to get more money out of me. They were measuring my gum pockets, calling out large numbers more often than they measured. I've never had that problem elsewhere. They wanted about $1,000 to do a deep cleaning and even more to replace the crowns that I doubt needed replacing. They super enlarged the x-rays to look like there were issues. As others, the dental hygienist told both me and my wife that we needed extremely expensive "deep cleans". We both had the "standard" cleaning, and were extremely surprised about how quick it was. The dentist seemed fine, although they didn't QA the cleaning, and must know what the hygienist is up to. We immediately returned to our previous dentist, who we'd (reluctantly) left due to a change of insurance, and paid out of pocket for a 45 minute cleaning, plus exam. This was $200 (no insurance). Our old / new dentist laughed at the Apple Dental "deep cleaning" quote, and said that it wasn't necessary, but would be included in their price if it were. We will be paying out of pocket to avoid going back to Apple Dental. read more

I went there for dental cleaning and assumed regular cleaning is covered. When I arrived there, the front desk told me to pay $51 for the fluoride. I paid since I had fluoride before. But when I came back home, I found that fluoride is not a must for dental cleaning. Also, the dental cleaning itself is not comfortable. I got water spread my face and my neck. And the procedure was too rusty. They just cleaned the stain on the teeth and didn't do any thorough cleaning as I had in the other office. read more

I would highly discourage anyone from going to this provider... particularly if you like being charged reasonable prices for dental work. PROs: 1. Consistent high quality of work. 2. Many hygenists available and friendly staff. CONs: 1. Unprofessional with the money--they overcharged me for work. 2. Their charges are significantly higher than any other dental provider that I've been to in California, or ever for that matter. Here's my story: One day I got a bill that looked strange to me, and I decided to look up the procedures in my insurance documentation portal--I could only find 2 procedures--the first time I began going to this provider and the most recent one (after I changed my insurance to one that paid out better--PPO). I decided to ask the person in billing why I wasn't able to see my claims online and they told me that because of my insurance type, they were not strictly required to submit claims--I was told this twice by the way (once over the phone and another time to my face, both times by the same person). I didn't love this answer, so I called my insurance to cross-check this information and also asked Apple Dental to send me itemized receipts with procedure codes for all the work they had billed me for. The representative at my insurance (1) confirmed that the provider is required to submit all claims and (2) some of the work I had been billed for would not have been approved by my insurance at the rates that they charged me for. It was such a strange situation that the representative was genuinely floored by the fact that they weren't submitting claims. So I filed a dispute to get refunded for all the items that the insurer did not approve or cover. For context, my overall bill that I had been charged out of pocket for about 1 year of service was over $3k, $700 of which was refunded due to this dispute. To me, that's a lot of money... Apple Dental never acknowledged that this was an error, nor did they apologize to me for the inconvenience this caused me. They even still routinely send me emails... I've since blocked their emails and forward them to spam and stopped going here for service so that I can resist the urge to call someone out of their name. Lessons that I learned that I'll impart to anyone reading this review: 1. Make sure your provider is actually submitting claims for your procedures. 2. As a litmus test, get them to periodically provide you itemized receipts with procedure codes that you can bring to your insurance to review--to keep them honest and avoid billing errors done in accident or otherwise. 3. Review your bills to make sure the numbers match what's been submitted to your insurer. 4. If you run into issues, do submit a bad review, do file a complaint with your insurance, and do consider filing a formal complaint with the dental board. read more

BUYER BEWARE: I was recently looking for a new dentist. After an exam at Apple, they gave me with a quote for almost $2200 worth of work, including a $800 "deep cleaning". I agreed to an appointment for the next day, then asked me to PREPAY FOR THE WORK NOT COMPLETED. Later that night, I changed my mind and decided to find another dentist to get a second opinion because something didn't seem right to me, from the amount of work, their high costs (with Delta insurance), the staff's actions, or their ask to prepay. I canceled the appointment, got refunded, and Apple emailed me their X-rays. The next dentist used the Apple X-rays, gave me an exam/cleaning, and told me, "we'll keep an eye on some things but overall, your teeth look good." I LEFT PAYING NOTHING out of pocket. Moral of this story: If a new dentist says you need extensive work done, it's worth getting a second opinion. read more
