While passing through Cedar City to do some snowboarding at Brianhead I decided to stop here. I chose a seat at the bar. The bar was not to busy, but the restaurant was. Only one bartender, after 8 mins I got the bartenders attention. Had to grab my own menu. Any the bartender was not very attentive. Finally ordered my entree, Burbon Street Chicken (no onions) received it very dry, had to get the bartenders attention again for ranch dressing. Explains why I wanted ranch for the dry chicken and tasteless, not Bourbon for sure. Offered another but didn't want to wait, waited to long for beverages.. Came here on a thursday night. Mistake. Took a little over 5 mins alone at the bar to finally have someone greet me. No bartender. She was busy doing everyone else's job. Understaffed i guess. Well unless you count the employees who just stand around and stare at you while you wait for another 15 mins for someone to ask if you need a drink. This right here is a real top notch establishment. I have been here over 10 times and have enjoyed every visit. The burgers are cooked excellently and they have a 5.99 burger and fry deal on Sundays and Mondays. May I recommend the quesadilla burger if you enjoy burgers. Run, run as fast as you can! Get in your car and go anywhere else. We have stopped a few times here on our way to Vegas or Cali. Not anymore. Two trips ago we tried it and the food was overcooked and dried out like yesterday's leftovers. This last time I got blackened chicken and my wife got shrimp Alfredo. My chicken was so dried out and hard, it was inedible. My wife's shrimp we rubbery and raw. We told manager no way! He offered to redo it and we just opted for the safer bet and went to Cafe Rio. The Brewhouse Chicken was really good. The service was normal. I have been eating here since it opened. The food was good in the beginning. Then the quality dropped. So I stopped eating here for several years. Now the food is excellent again. Don't know if it was the cook. But the hamburgers are worth the stop. First off, I have never written a review for a restaurant but I felt like one was deserved. My friends and I went out for the night to celebrate my sisters 21st birthday. Our waitress was nice enough but you could tell she was having a rough night. Not her fault. She was doing her best. She informed us right away that they were out of a few things. We said that's ok, we just want some margaritas and some appetizers. She got us our drinks but kept disappearing and we had been there about 25 minutes and we still hasn't ordered. So we sent our order on the kiosks. We just wanted nachos. Several minutes later she came back and let us know that they were out of chips....yes they were out of chips. No nachos, no chips and salsa. Nada. By the way, they are right next door to a Wal-mart so I'm not sure why they couldn't just go grab some bags of chips that would suffice for the night. Coincidently, we knew the people at the table right next to us who were leaving and they heard what happened so they offered us the rest of their chips. How sweet. After awhile they finally brought out the waters we ordered when we first sat down. A few minutes after receiving her water but friend noticed floating around in her glass. YUP. It was a little black bug. They replaced her water luckily but by that time our appetite was killed. So needless to say it was not the best experience at Applebee's. The manager neglected to come out and talk to our tables. He was there too. They didn't offer to discount our meal since we had to substitute a lot on our meals. When we got the bill we were actually overcharged because they neglected to take off the appetizers we had previously ordered that they were out of. When we pointed this out we asked if we could have a discount because technically appetizers were supposed to be half off that night anyway. We were offered a slight discount which was nice, but they whole situation was not handled well at all. The management at this Applebee's is terrible. Just offering good customer when you are having a rough night cause usually help make this experience not so bad. Unfortunately, that was not even offered. So, we decided to forego desert here and opted to go down the street to Chilis where we had a wonderful time and great service. Chilis managed to salvage our night. As Applebee's slogan says "Eatin' Good in the Neighborhood", I would have to agree. I was greeted at the door with a smile from the over enthusiastic hostess. and was seated in a booth with some of my friends. We sat at our booth for about five minutes before a server came to our table to get our drinks, but when he finally came he was extremely apologetic and made us laugh with his quirky personality. Applebee's has quite the selection to choose from and can be hard to choose just one, but choosing something healthy on the other hand is quite simple. One of their goals is to produce yummy yet healthy food options, and the menu is designed to tell you what is healthy and what is not. They put a section filled with about ten items that are for "Weight Watchers". These items are promised to be under 550 calories, so not only can you enjoy a delicious meal, but you can also enjoy a healthy meal that is real food. I finally decided to do the 2 for $20 deal that they offer. This is a great deal that allows you and another guest to share an appetizer, and you each get to choose from a list of entrée's. My friend and I got the spinach and artichoke dip and then the 4-Cheese Mac and Cheese with honey peppered chicken tenders. The appetizer came within five minutes which was quite impressive and unexpected. The dip was the best Spinach and Artichoke dip I've ever eaten. And the Mac and cheese had a delicious flavor with the moist honey chicken on top. My experience over-all at Applebee's was a five star, and I will definitely be going back to experience and try new things that they have to offer. read more

Their appetizers are delicious. I love the brew pub pretzels with beer cheese and mozzarella sticks. The pretzels are always cooked thoroughly and the beer cheese is creamy and tangy. To top it off, they sprinkle cracked pepper and coarse salt over everything. The mozzarella sticks are crunchy and perfect with ranch. Oh! And I love to get strawberry lemonade. It's a hit or miss depending on how much syrup you want in your drink...but I've only regretted getting it once! I like to go with my husband but going alone isn't awkward! I sit up at the bar and I'm not shunned because I don't drink. I like to get either all appetizers or one appetizer, the pretzels, and a chicken basket with honey mustard and mayonnaise on the side. I mix the mayonnaise with ketchup and make fry sauce even though they have little packages of fry sauce in the back. Tried the packaged fry sauce and wasn't a fan. I love coming here late with my friends and just having a good time. The service is amazing and I know my favorite servers! Kodiann, Victoria, and Sierra :) Ask for them and you'll never have a bad experience. Remember to tip 20%. Servers make close to nothing and rely on your tips. read more

I usually like Applebee's... But this one is just horrible. Everything about it is ridiculous. My family and I moved here from Southern California recently and we decided to try Applebee's on Super Bowl Sunday since we don't have cable yet. we waited about half an hour for seats (the restaurant was NOT busy AT ALL), then as soon as we were seated, douchebag McGee waiter took our drink order. Husband ordered JACK and coke (but waiter said it would be Pepsi since they don't have coke, fine..) then I ordered a blue moon. A server brought our drinks and they completely gave husband the wrong drink. It was a Rum and coke watered down. The waiter came back and we told him he ordered a jack and "Pepsi", the waiter then smart mouthed us and said, "uh no, you clearly said Rum and coke. But whatever"... Ok, this is why I named him douchebag McGee. Very professional. We then asked if there was any way he can turn the volume on the Tv's up so we can hear the game then tells us, "no, I can't turn off the music either, but I'll find a box for you." Come back with the sound box or whatever it is. It dies on us after 5 minutes. Anywho, we got our food, which was great.. The waiter then loosened up a bit after a while, but he still ruined it for himself in the beginning. Being the nice person that I am, I still tipped him 15%. We eat here quite a bit and have always been pleased. Tonight was a different story. The kids steak was rare. I wouldn't even eat it and I usually eat medium rare. When I asked the waitress what temperature they usually cook a kids steak she said medium. I showed her the steak cut in half and very rare and all we got was a sorry (no offer to take it off our check or anything). Glad my son wasn't too hungry because all he ate was yogurt for his kids meal. The French onion soup, which I almost always order, tasted like they were running out and added a bunch of water to hold them through the night. Surprising find in Cedar City. I don't usually go to Applebee's, but it was late at night and not many places were open. The food was good and the management and server were very attentive. It was a bit odd when we were led by the hostess to a table that had obviously been recently used as food and trash were all around and under the table. We waited for about half an hour or so then we finally got our meal. My fiance cut into his and noticed that his steak was not done how he had ordered it. It was super pink in the middle and still bleeding. Mine was brown on the outside but was completely RAW in the middle! I had already taken a bit when I realized this. Instantly I felt sick! I ran to the bathroom while my fiance had our steaks taken back to be refired! Everything I had eaten prior, our awesome triple play appetizers, came right back up! We then requested to speak to the manager, who looked at us like "what do you want me to do about it?" like as though we had just to settle for having undercooked steaks! Luckily though after my fiance suggested it, the manager waived one of our meals but that was all! He didn't bother doing anything more for us since I got sick! To me this is HORRIBLE customer service! I can say for sure that we will not be frequenting there again!! read more

While eating my chicken salad, I discovered a metal ball, about the size of a pea, mixed in on my plate. Luckily I am not a huge fan of black beans, so i was carefully picking thru my salad. We showed the server and she was concerned and took the metal ball back to show the kitchen staff. She came back to the table and stated, "sorry, the manager doesn't have time to come out and talk to you, so here is a gift certificate for next time." My husband told her we are passing through on our way home to MN and wont be here again. She then shrugged and said there wasn't anything else she could do. The fact that the manager "didnt have time" to come out to speak with us was incredibly poor. We were served a meal with a metal ball in it, and you don't have time? I could have easily broken a tooth. This obviously wasn't the server's fault and is a concerning training opportunity for the manager. Show some integrity and confidence. A metal ball? We would like our $32.80 back, IF YOU CAN FIND THE TIME. read more
