Applebees is always good and there is not much more than what I can expect their food to be. It was solid, I would like a bit more flavor to my food but for a factory chain there is not much more. Not great but not bad. But the one thing you know is that you can't go wrong with applebees and that you will always find something for everyone to eat. read more

My wife and I had't been here for quite awhile. First thing we noticed was music was too loud. We asked to be seated over to the far side of the restaurant to enjoy each other's company and talk. My wife ordered a shrimp dish and I ordered a fajita w/ steak and shrimp. She liked the taste of hers but noted that shrimp were sparse. I had the same issue as I noticed right away there was way too little steak and shrimp I counted 5 really small strips of steak and 5 medIum sized shrimp. Based on surrounding grilled veggies on the plate, I joked that the meal was more of a vegetarian dish. Disappointing for sure.The waitress was nice, but not very interactive. Too busy I guess but a couple of moments of chatting and smiles would have gone a long ways towards her tip. We won't be coming back soon but mainly b/c of the food. Very poor service on 1/31/18 . We sat in the bar around 7:45pm. "B" took our order. We finally received our main dinner after other tables that arrived after us. I let the server that delivered our food know we never received our salads, she offered to bring them, since we already had our dinner we asked for them to go. I got it gift card, so thought if take the family out for dinner. The wait was decent, although there was some confusion between the customers in front of us. We were seated at a huge booth for two adult, child and infant. It was a bit odd, but we managed. The wait for the waitress was less than five minutes, but the good was a bit more. Our waitress clocked out for lunch before our food arrived, two of the meals were correct, and two were not. My ribs were delicious, the kids could care less about theirs, and my wife said her steak tasted burned. We didn't bother to return it. We cut our losses, waited another rather long time for the check (why places wait to get your money is beyond me), left the remainder of the gift card as a tip so as to avoid a return trip. Today we had terrible service at Applebee's. A group of 8 of us went to try on wedding dresses and wanted to have a nice lunch to celebrate and discuss details. It all started when we walked in and they had us (8 people) sit in a really small booth. We asked to move and sit in another location where they could push the tables together. After that we got terrible service. Our waiter threw straws at us, let my mom's beer get hot, brought out the brides food and no one else's. It was ridiculous. While all this was happening the waiters/waitresses just stood and were just chatting with each other. Finally a waiter came over and told us we needed to order on the electronic computer ( that wasn't even on the table.) I will never go to this place again. Inexcusable bad service. place was not busy were seated right away and quashed out 15 min later because nobody would even come get our drink order. half the place was empty, and most tables already eating dinner. it seemed like they were fully staffed, but nobody could comes and wait on us so we left to have dinner elsewhere. Service was attentive, food delicious, and enjoyable. Five stars!, except for slow to get food. The waitress noticed and provided free chips and salsa! I'd easily go there again. Today, Jan 20 th at 10:40 pm we had visited the Apple bees off of Sisk Rd I had ordered the prime rib pasta and found a hair on my pasta I had showed the waitress and she looked and saw the hair and apologized and said she would talk to her manager but minutes had passed and we were waiting then we found the manager and he said if we had showed the waitress and we said yes and he said he will go get a another plate at the time you know mistakes happen we weren't angry about it to the manager but for the manager to roll his eyes and show attitude and just offer to get another plate and that's it when we the found a hair was disgusting and then the manager comes back with the food we had asked him if the waitress had showed him the plate and he said no she threw it and didn't mention that's when we decided to leave these workers are unprofessional and rude and made it seem like we made it up when she saw for herself her name was mariela H the hair looked like a mustache or nose hair on the plate that was very disgusting. Was totally disappointed. Went and stood at the hostess station to get on the waiting list and was ignored. There were no less than 3 servers standing around talking, without even acknowledging our presence. This went on for a couple minutes. The food here is not bad when they serve it hot, but the service really sucks. I have had decent service from a few waiters on rare occasion, but those times are not the norm. My last visit here my waitress must have went on vacation during the time I was there. I even asked other servers to ask my waitress to come to the table and still she was MIA. When she did return, she acted as if we were bothering her. I asked to speak with the manager and he really did not give a damn about the poor service and botched food order. Apple Gilroy Inc should pay better attention to their individual restaurant ratings on Yelp. If they read any of these reviews AT ALL, they would surely be motivated to do a little housekeeping at this location. IT'S INEXCUSABLE to operate a store with such horrible ratings, poor service and bad food. And the worst part is, they really don't do much cooking of their food at all....so how is it possible to get it so wrong? Cold coffee, burnt decaf coffee, ridiculously slow business, dirty tables/booths all over the restaurant, and they ran out of clean spoons....(seriously....the server brought us PLASTIC spoons because they ran out of clean ones at 10pm. How does this happen at a restaurant??) I've eaten at several Applebee's, but rarely in my own hometown. We will NOT be returning here. This is not an Applebee's-quality store and both the Manager and Apple Gilroy Inc should be incredibly embarassed. They should try out their own restaurants once in a while and see what it's like as a patron. Disappointed.... read more

This Applebee's is always consistent. The food is great and the service is excellent. The bar is fully stocked. The prices are very reasonable. Their cedar grilled steak and cedar grilled salmon is super. They do not over cook their vegetable; they are great. read more

Came to Applebee's a few nights ago to catch their late night happy hours. Food and drinks were great. They did NOT enforce masks this night. And I saw many others not wearing masks when away from their table. Went again yesterday and now they are enforcing masks. I spoke to a hostess and asks if they have any masks I could use so I'm able to sit down at my table and they did not allow me to join them. Spoke to a the manager RACHEL and she would not allow me to sit nor provided me with an extra Mask. Stated they need to protect other customers sitting down enjoying their meals and other customers need to Wear a mask when walking up from their table. Then two customers are leave the restaurant WITH NO MASKS ON WALKING PASS US!! I ask if thats their policy, allowing some to walk without a mask when finished, she stated no. She did not try to stop them to enforce the rules then. Mask policy is a joke here. Covid protocol is a joke there. They are picking and closing when to enforce rules. Walked in around 2PM Saturday July 28 and three groups were waiting to be seated. The place was about three quarters full. We were told that we could sit at the bar or be perched at a round table or there would be a fifteen minute wait. We counted eight booths open and, when asked if we could have one we were told in a very snotty way that there are others in front of us waiting to be seated. Absolutely no hurry to seat anyone. We watched the two workers just saunter back and forth not doing anything. We left. Oh, and it smells in there. read more
