Beautiful restaurant with a nice atmosphere. I was seated by the fireplace which was very nice. I was by myself and I usually like to sit at the bar when I am dining alone but the restaurant does not have a bar. A bit of a bummer but it was okay sitting by the fireplace. My service and food were excellent! I had the pear purse pockets, a favorite of mine that I have not seen on a menu in years. I was very excited to see them on this menu!! The chef came out and spoke to me which was a nice gesture and much appreciated. They only serve wine and beer. They have a nice selection of wines and I don't know about the beer choices because I don't normally drink beer. I would offer a suggestion for the music. Spend the extra money and have the commercial free streaming. The ambience was great until the commercial interrupted the mood. Also, get rid of the dead green plant and pot to the left of the fireplace; it's a terrible eyesore. Overall I will definitely be back for some more purse pockets! read more

Wow! What a great experience. The Hubbs established a great rapport with Executive Chef Imi Kun, who visited us several times during our meal. Here's a man who knows his food and cares about his customers! We were visiting with friends whom we hadn't seen in a while and appreciated not being rushed. We started with wine and burrata, then shared escargot, and the cream of asparagus soup. I opted for the mushroom ravioli, which was very good. The sauce was rich, so I had plenty to take home and still be full. The Hubbs had the lamb special and it was cooked perfectly. We tried the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Very filling and plenty to share. Not only is the restaurant a beautiful setting, the presentations are next level. The plates are works of art and the food is picture-worthy. This restaurant is a matter of taste. It was not for me, but I can appreciate that it is small and family owned. I personally thought the food was ok at best and the decor is incredibly outdated. It would be an excellent place to visit with grandparents or family, but was not appropriate for a business dinner. I appreciate the chef coming by each table. They only serve wine, which was also a huge disappointment. I don't think I'll be back. read more

Stopped in on my way through St George based on other Yelp reviews. What a winner. Amazing menu, attentive, knowledgeable service that knows the menu and not afraid to make recommendations. AND they set up a table just for me out on their patio as I had a K9 with me. Wow. The food kept building in excellence from start to finish. HIGHLY recommend everything I had (in pictures below), but lots of other yummy things on menu. I'll be back! We visited St George and searched for the best restaurants in town. ARAGOSTA came up as the highest rated. This doesn't always mean great but we wanted to give it a try and we are glad we did. We started with escagot. They were very large and extremely tender. So many times a place will smother them with cheese and broil them to rubber. Not here. The garlic was fresh and not overpowering. The snails were definitely the star. One nice touch was the spoon they provided to scoop the garlic and butter onto the provided crustini. My wife ordered the Hungarian Tenderloin Goulash with Goat Cheese Spatzel. She describes the meal as "traditionally clean. All the flavors hit the right notes." I was between several choices. One was the Squid Ink Fruti De Mar. This dish restored my faith in the excellence Squid Ink pasta can be. Having traveled extensively globally, I can truly say I have never had better. The depth of flavor of the pasta grew with each additional bite. Then the seafood - it was evident that each type was cooked separately resulting in each being cooked tonight their optimum perfection. No over or undercooked here. Then the sauce. Not overpowering or over indulgent. Perfect. There is only one thing I will ding this restaurant on - its the wine list and wine prices. The list is lacking and could be much better to compliment to food. The prices for the wine don't match the value. Overall 9.8 out of 10. We will recommend ARAGOSTA and we will return. read more

First night in St George and went here. The place wasn't crowded at all. Plenty of parking right outside the place. No bar area. No televisions. They had a buffet going on for Easter but for $60 I didn't see the value in that. I tried the mushroom ravioli which was pretty good. The other two I went with had the chateau for two. It was also good but a tad over priced for what you got. Lots of wine choices. Overall probably a nice place to try once in awhile. read more

Every once in a while, you come across a restaurant that is just so far elevated above its peers, that you just have to sit back and take stock of what you just experienced. This is one of those places. Chef sources all of his vegetables and carbohydrates and proteins from the highest quality providers. The food is presented beautifully, and the ambience in the restaurant is romantic and refined. This is by far the best restaurant in St. George. We came by here on a whim, and gladly (accidentally) spent hundreds more than we thought we were going to. Every penny well spent. If you knew what a curmudgeon I am, then you would know what a compliment this is. We will be back, and I will be providing photos and a better review. We had an enjoyable evening here but in a usual way. Beautiful place - great server - welcoming owner. Started with salad and red pepper soup which were very good although the salad was a bit heavily dressed. Entrees were Alaskan salmon and mine was beef short ribs. My wife's fish was great my short ribs were underwhelming. I was going to just deal with it but decided to bring it up. The manner in which both the server and the owner felt with the situation was perfect. I did not really want another entree after the main dish sides and eating 1/3 of the beef. They offered to make anything else - which I passed on. All was good (places are not perfect) but then we were presented with a 2nd desert along with the shared desert we had ordered. It was spectacular- warm and delicious. With an off entree possibly making the evening a downer the manner in which the owner and staff made it right was impressive. Aragosta is a beautiful restaurant in St George, Utah. I heard about this place a while ago from someone who knows the owner/chef who happens to be Hungarian. I wanted to go there long ago and bookmarked it in Yelp to make sure I don't miss it again when I am in St George. Went there on Saturday. Luckily I got a table quickly. Unfortunately the item I wanted to order was not available, although on their website it says that Duck Liver is the specialty of the restaurant. Due to being by myself, I really didn't want to spend long time in the restaurant. I have decided to order dessert and maybe return another time to enjoy dinner with my friends. I ordered Sacher Cake, and I was very excited about it. Sadly it wasn't a Sacher Cake what I expected. Not much relation to the original Sacher Cake from Austria! And for $17/slice! This place came highly recommended. It was pretty quiet when we arrive at 6:00. There was a party starting in their private dining room. I took a peek - it was a lovely room. I'd love to host a dinner party there. Service was very attentive without being intrusive. Even the chef came out to check on us, and every table while we were there. Every dish was flawless in presentation and taste. Perfectly cooked scallops and medium rare beef fillet. Delicious lobster bisque and burrata starter. The lemon sorbet palate cleanser was a lovely touch. I really appreciate little extras like that. Do order dessert. They have a wonderful sticky toffee cake. There is live music (electric piano. If you have a hard time hearing, ask to be seated further away. This is an upscale place, so dress accordingly. Shorts and tees are definitely out of place here. Dog friendly patio! We were visiting from Minnesota and picked this restaurant because we were shocked to find a fancier restaurant that had a dog friendly patio. We had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The restaurant has an old world European vibe. After being seated, the owner came out and share information with us about the food. We had 3 guests that cannot eat gluten and 1 that cannot eat dairy and they were very accommodating. Our server Rhett was very knowledgeable about the menu and provided us with excellent service. They all were so kind to our golden retriever as well-- treated him like part of the family. My favorite thing I ate was the filet mignon. The meat was perfectly cooked and had an incredible flavor from the bernaise. Highly recommend! read more

We are on a tour of the national parks. One of our tour mates found this fabulous restaurant. Its not inexpensive. The service was impeccable. The dinners were just delicious. I had the risotto and prawns. Oh my word... was that a tasty plate. My husband had lobster ravioli and said it was also delicious. We were a party of six all very happy with the restaurant. What a beautiful place. Too bad we all live in Florida. But if we were to come back here for a visit we would most definitely eat here again. read more

A friend posted some photos of food from when he stopped here and I bookmarked it knowing I'd be in St. George later in the year. It was an easy drive across town from where I was staying on Bluff Street. I made a reservation for 5 PM. My Apple calendar listed it for 4 PM (the hour's difference between Utah and Nevada?) I left a bit early and got there about 4:40 and I was the first person in the restaurant. The server/hostess was Paisley and she proved to be a wonderful server. She brought a menu with her when seating me and she told me some specials for the night. I then had an opportunity to look over the menu. I ordered red pepper gouda soup for a starter and the colossal sea scallops served on linguini with a choice of sauce (I chose Alfredo). For dessert, I ordered the Italian lemon cream cake. Paisley brought my iced tea quickly. In a short time, the soup was bvrought. It was rich in flavor and something different than French onion or lobster bisque. A good choice especially in this season. After the soup, there was a small intermezzo/palate cleanser sorbet. Then came the scallops--four very large, perfectly cooked gems on a bed of linguini Alfredo. I took my time eating this meal. Everything was very good. I only wish I had a spoon to wind the linguini but I was able to do OK with my fork. For dessert, the Italian lemon cream cake was light and a good ending. I thought it was a bit low on lemon flavor. I love and I would have liked it to be more pronounced. The restaurant is a good sized place and very elegant. The restaurant wasn't busy on this Monday night but I was there for more than an hour. One server for the four tables especially when wine is being uncorked and served took Paisley some time. It didn't matter. I had plenty of time to get back to the hotel and clean up a bit before going to Tuacahn. Chef Imi Kun stopped by during my dinner to check and see how everything was. I'd recommend Aragosta to anyone and would return when in St. George. read more

Dog friendly fine dining. The head chef/Owner greeted us at the door to welcome ourselves and the dogs. We were escorted to a covered patio with lovely mature bushes and trees. Water was immediately brought for the dogs We had lovely tablecloth, napkins flower arrangement and candlelight. We started with a delightful sangria and the burrata fresh and delicious. My husband had the Salmon king, cooked perfectly with vegetables and potato I had the duck special with cabbage braised in champagne. Spectacular. For dessert we had the chocolate mousse cups a delightful assortment of delicious flavors. The chef came out and fussed over the dogs and shared his love of animal. I wanted to like Aragosta more after hearing raving reviews of Chef Imi's food from family. Unfortunately, I think the staffing issues have detracted from a potentially great experience. We made a reservation on a Wednesday night and were seated immediately, despite the restaurant being surprisingly busy. While the interior decor is a bit like a like Victorian castle meets Norwegian cruise ship, the social distancing here is superb. We ordered a couple of glasses of wine to start, and unfortunately the Krug Cabernet Sauvignon I ordered was not available, so I opted for the Petit Syrah. While it was a bit annoying that my wine choice was not available, it was downright frustrating that it took our server almost 25 minutes to serve our beverages. In fact, I received my appetizer, the tomato and burrata salad before I received my wine! Despite the service issues, our food was actually very good. The burrata was very creamy and tomatoes fresh. I ordered the salmon for my entree, which was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Every bite was incredibly tender and flavorful. Overall we had an OK dinner at Aragosta. Our server apologized for the delay in receiving our beverages and said it was "on her and would be removed from our bill," but when we received our bill we were still charged for the wine. We just paid for it anyway because it was taking so long for everything due to their staffing issues. Would I go back? Maybe. It's one of the better, more upscale restaurants in St. George, but the prices are high and I felt like we should have received much better service for such high prices. read more

We celebrated an incredible anniversary dinner here, we love that Chef Imi comes around to each table and says hello. He had many long time visiting patrons stop and say hi by the kitchen. He greeted each as an old friend would. Our new waitress Jene was nervous, but is off to a great start. Each of the waiters had nice things to say about each other and were there to support one another. Not only is this a great restaurant, but a family friendly one too. The kids menu even has drink pairings (non-alcoholic of course). Now for the food, from appetizers to dessert your pallet is hit with great clean flavors. The lobster bisque is the most unique flavor with that hint of sherry at the end, phenomenal. You can never go wrong with burrata. If you're a fan of fish, the Norwegian Smoked Salmon was incredibly moist and went so well with the smear, capers & sliced vegetables. The filet & lobster were great choices, that clarified butter for the lobster is the best I've ever had and I use clarified butter in all of my cooking. This is my favorite dessert menu in town, it has all the classics from Apple Strudel to crepe brûlée to Tiramisu. We had the lemon cake and lava cake, both incredibly well balanced. The whip cream was so light and fluffy. Yum! I was hoping for a little more foam on the cappuccino, but still so good. Hit the spot. Food here is amazing and the service is good. The only thing that I disliked about this place is that it takes for ever to get your food. For us it took a long time to get our appetizers, about an hour more to get our soup and salad and about another hour to get our entries. In all, we spent about three and a half hours dinning at Aragosta. It was hard sitting for so long. read more

Me and my siblings took our parents here for their 50th anniversary and absolutely loved it! The service was great, our waitress interacted with us, was quick and very on top of things. Chef also stopped by our table a few times to say congratulations and to make sure everything was up to par. The food was AMAZING! We ordered everything we could possibly consume in 1 evening because we just had to try it. A unique menu with foods you can't find anywhere else. When I called to book our reservation, chef was heavily involved. He gave me his recommendations and send me photos of what options were available. He was willing to accommodate us and our small party completely. I can't say enough good things! Sadly mediocre. Wayyyyy overpriced. With the hype from the locals, we thought we were walking into fine dining in St George, of which we were excited about. We made the reservation weeks in advance. It was empty with only a couple of tables of patrons. The menu seemed mildly interesting; the food though lacked flavor and freshness. I got the surf and turf dish and the lobster was tough and tasteless. I could go in deeper in the palette and food that we ordered, ranging from appetizers, main dishes and desert - exorbitantly ordering and spending to taste the wide range of the menu and it was it all sadly disappointing. We can make better food at home, we concluded. Can we please get some legitimate fine dining in St George? And that doesn't entail the Cheesecake Factory. read more

This is one of the nicest high end restaurants in St George! The interior features a traditional Italian/Turscan theme decore and a second floor dining area for large groups. There was a piano but no accompanist when we went in. The Sea Bass was really good, nice flavor and moderate portions. But the price is up there! Our server was very refined and knew the menu, was able to explain everything and offer specials. The only down side was the Giant Scallops which were underseasoned, a bit undercooked, and the risotto was undercooked as well. read more

Sadly our second experience here was a huge letdown. The new location is okay but lacks the coziness of the original restaurant (even though it was in a strip mall behind a gas station. Seriously). My husband made reservations for his birthday. Online showed no openings, but when he called there was availability. A few tables were empty but all were socially distant for Covid requirements. Most servers and cooks did not wear masks that covered their noses and mouths. The chairs weren't comfortable except for the center table that had huge, padded chairs. There was a live singer with recorded music who performed until 8:00 on a Thursday night. About thirty minutes later they played nice background songs that helped fill the awkward silence in the cavernous space. It was several minutes before we were acknowledged at the entrance and then again before a server arrived to take our drink orders. Then at least ten minutes before bringing water and taking our dinner orders. My husband asked for calamari, a Caesar salad and scallops with risotto. I ordered French onion soup and Hungarian goulash with spaetzel. About ten minutes later four tiny pieces of yummy bread were delivered to our table. Then five minutes later balsamic vinegar and olive oil were brought. The calamari was never served or mentioned. At least we weren't charged for it, but my husband really wanted to try it. It's doubtful there will be a next time here. Our food was delicious except for the bland spaetzle. There was a piece of aluminum foil in my food that I unfortunately bit instead of noticing it on the plate. Yuck. They brought a refreshing scoop of lemon sorbet between appetizers and entrees. The service was terrible and so slow. Our sever said she would bring us more bread and refill our water glasses several times without it happening. She would always apologize for taking so long to help us but she took time to chat with the singer and mess with the stereo system, etc. instead of paying attention to her customers. She forgot which of us ordered what foods. After 90 minutes, we didn't want to wait another 45 minutes for dessert. The owner/chef came out at the end of the evening to greet guests which was nice. Don't sit near the bathrooms--awful odors!! Prices were a bit high for the small portions. It would have been good to have fresh vegetables on the menu. Came here with my dad because the reviews were great! My dad loved the sea bass and the mussels. He said the flavor was good and the meal was not heavy. I had the scallops and they were nice. Atmosphere was very dated. Food was good. There isn't a full bar, only wine. It was a pleasant experience, though our server was new and things moved fairly slowly. We enjoyed our meals, and the highlight was the toffee pudding. The atmosphere was severely lacking. It's like you're at a wedding reception, all of the tables are in the center of a big open room. Faux greenery and florals, dated linens and fixtures, design elements, etc. Could use a good modern update. Would also like to enjoy libations other than wine. read more
