I'm very happy with Aranda Air for timeliness, service, and for being easy to work with. My 2-part review will explain... We called Aranda about our non-functional AC around noon on a Saturday and they were able to get someone out later that afternoon! (I contacted several other AC repair shops who had Wed-Thurs appointment slots at the earliest.) Aranda was also able to trouble shoot a seemingly complicated issue involving a short and failed transformer. The short was most concerning since the wiring routes through sealed walls. Fortunately Aranda was able to find a solution using the existing wiring while saving us $$ from having to open walls to find the short. However, after some time having the AC on we weren't feeling much drop in temperature so we asked Aranda to come out again to determine what other issues our system contained. Again, they were able to come on little notice, went though AC functional checks, and concluded the system was functioning correctly. Seems the first time they came was such a hot day that our AC did not have capacity to cool our interior (never had AC prior, having lived by the coast). He provided a few pointers on usage and concluded the visit without billing us! And yes, we've used the AC since then and it works fine! read more

I did not want to write this review. This company was assigned by a home warranty to replace a A/C. I was told at the time they needed to replace both the A/C and the furnance. This was less than 2 years ago and so far the furnance sounds like a rocket taking off, They sent out a tech to adjust the unit so now it just sounds like a highway next to our bedroom. It really needs a new blower unit. Now the A/C not working past 11am and by 2-3pm the interior of the house is nearly 90 degrees at the thermometer but significantly over in the rooms. The office manager is suprised at my frustration and anger. She never quiet got past the "home warranty bought the unit", to who I was supposed to call to have the work done. Now they are sending me many copies of the invoicing...which brings up the emails with how many times I had to reach out to get the original work finished. They also say they never touched the ducts even thought they replaced the entire unit including adapting the space to fit. I keep getting a different story as to why Aranda doesn't have to follow through on the work they did. I wish they would just message me about how to resolve the current issue. A second HVAC company has come out and states the coolant is low and needs to have several hundred dollars to recharge the unit. Most likely the installers did not flush the unit completely at install. The unit is below industry standard of separation at the current temp (78) and the A/C issue will continue to degrade with air in the lines. This is an installation issue. read more

My home warranty sent 3 companies and nobody could figure out the problem. The fourth company they assigned was Aranda Air and I had kept my expectations very low. But this time Louis the owner saved my family from frying. He came over and diagnosed the issue. He had all the parts required to get my AC working the same day. He even waited with me until the house completely cooled down. He cared. He was professional and he knew what he was doing. Just plain terrible. If you don't want to be treated like garbage, please don't even call this company! First call: they scheduled me a week after calling to set up appointment in hot scorching summer. The person on the phone explains I am not the only one waiting. I let it go and waited for a week. They came after a week and diagnosed nothing and claimed they fixed the A/C. After a week the A/C stopped working. I called again and had to wait three weeks in line this time. I again scheduled with them. After waiting three weeks, the technician did NOT show up (I had to take day off from work BTW). I called the same day and asked if the technician is coming (our phone call was about 45 seconds). The person on the phone (Leslie) said the following: "YOU ARE NOT THAT IMPORTANT NOW, I HAVE OTHER MORE IMPORTANT CLIENTS" and then she hung up on me. I put it in capital letters because she raised her voice at me and it really hit me emotionally. What a rude person. She never called me back. I have never encountered this type of terrible customer service. I urge you to not waste your time with this company. There are plenty others that schedule within a day of calling. read more

Folks, Aranda Air was our original installer for our heat and AC and they did a fabulous job then and I highly recommend. Fast forward to the crazy October heatwave. We had a sharp power outage and a lot of device failures including the A/C. I am really heat sensitive so it was trouble for us beyond the usual. As many Bay Area folks know, it was pretty scorching hot this pass Memorial Day weekend. That said, this is where we get to put our AC units/systems to test! Unfortunately, something was preventing my system from efficiently cooling my house down. Although it wasn't warm inside my house, it wasn't cool/cold as it usually is when my AC is running. Before the night ended, I knew that I'd have to get someone to come out to troubleshoot. Since Louis and his crew at Aranda Air installed my entire system, they have been my go-to heating & air specialists since 2012! On my first attempt in calling Louis, we were able to connect and discuss the situation. He explained that he is booked a couple of weeks out, but would try his very best to move things around and squeeze me in. Although that sounded very promising, I called 3 other businesses with stellar ratings, to see if ANYONE could confirm an appointment with me this week (*Desperation Mode*). Since this is peak season for these folks, I received ZERO calls back from the detailed voice mail messages that I left. That alone tells you how busy they are. Louis requested that I reach out to him later in the day for a status update on my appointment. I figured I'd press my luck and call him right after lunch. It was indeed my lucky day! He was able to adjust his first appointment of the following day, and confirmed that he'd be at my residence around 9:00AM. That is the epitome of EXCELLENT customer service! Louis came to service my heater at a time when I could not get anyone out to look at it. (It was a home warranty claim and everyone kept saying it was out of their service area.) I knew this business is far away from my home, but they were kind enough to come out and look at it anyway. This was SUCH a difficult problem to diagnose, because it was intermittent. So any time someone came to look at it, of course, it would start working again. But Louis was SUPER patient. I'm sure he spent far more hours than he should have. He waited until he was able to reproduce the problem and come up with some possible solutions. He came back out here a few times (he had to buy parts in between--stuff like that). On the third try, he did what no one else had been able to do (because I had actually had a heating contractor out before this and they couldn't identify a problem). He diagnosed it! He discovered a wire that should have been connected in a thermostat that he did not install. He instinctively traced the problem back, opened it up, and fixed it. And the first heating contractor had already looked at that wiring, so it apparently took someone more competent to figure it out. That person was Louis. Louis is polite, kind, patient, and prompt, all things that are hard to come by these days. He takes a lot of pride in his work. He even called me after hours a few times to communicate the information from the home warranty company. The bottom line is that he's the best. Shortly after moving in we discovered our a/c was creating enough condensation to generate a river above my home office ceiling. The home warranty company connected us with Aranda Air who was efficient in scheduling to come out and diagnosing the issue (ultimately the 25 year old unit needed replaced and items brought to code due to a long lost original internal filter that looked like a cement brick upon removal). They worked through the needed steps with the home warranty to make the case for the replacement and code repairs and navigated the furnace replacement at a good value knowing we were on the hook for it . While supply chain held up delivery of the unit, upon arrival they scheduled us quickly. The crew showed up promptly, drop cloths were placed everywhere, and even in our super tiny attic space had the old equipment out and new items install within a day catching other issues such as only half of our ducts had been connected and other elements. Externally they quickly yanked the unit and had to redo the slab and lines because they were in poor condition. I do commend the team for their knowledge as they took time to explain fully what they found and what we could expect. Also their clean up was on point! Before the drop cloths were picked up it looked like they had wrestled a muppet and the muppet lost, but at the end of day 1 our floors were spotless because of the care they showed. They returned to complete the job in half a day the next day arriving on time and working with us to ensure we could navigate our pets outside before the initial turn on of the furnace and providing great details of things to watch for as the system works through the first few days. Even with the exciting discoveries they made during the replacement process the cost remained exactly as quoted. Great people and highly recommend them! read more

We were looking to replace a gas furnace and A/C system with a hybrid heat pump with backup gas furnace to utilize excess solar capacity and lower our overall heating bills. Our problem was that the current system was undersized for the house after an addition was added on. We were limited in closet space where the old furnace was located and not able to increase the system size without moving the furnace into the attic. We wanted to keep the furnace in the original closet for convenience and avoid the added cost to relocate the system into the attic. Out of five contractors, Louis (Owner) was the only one to come up with a solution to increase the system size to match the house and keep the furnace in the closet by utilizing a higher efficiency furnace for a modest additional cost. He listened to our problem, asked questions, analyzed the situation and customized a system that met all of our requirements at a fair price. The other contractors approached the problem with "Cookie Cutter" solutions, some at a much higher price. The work was performed on-time and in a very professional manner. The whole crew was polite and addressed all of our questions and concerns with patience and humor. Louis's experience and HVAC knowledge are second to none. This vendor came to my property to fix a broken wall furnace heater. The heater is a rather old unit, but was functioning. According to my tenant, the technician didn't do an inspection and spent about a couple of minutes and determined that I need to get a new heater which couldn't be covered by the home warranty company. I called another HVAC specialist and it was fixed less than a hour with a new thermostat. Do not go use this vendor if you really want to have an expert fix your old furnace. They're just a business amateur who simply wants to make money. Even one star is not deserved. read more

Our A/C broke last summer (in the middle of an epic heat wave!) and we opened a ticket with our home warranty company. The first company they offered was a 1 star on Yelp; the second company was Aranda Air and I was attracted to their high Yelp ratings. Louis came out for the initial inspection and I really appreciated his transparency on what needed to be fixed/replaced as well as his conciliatory approach. Ultimately we needed to replace our entire HVAC (our furnace was 30 years old and incompatible with newer AC hookups). We did hit some delays due to COVID and supply chain but ultimately when the furnace and AC were in stock, the Aranda staff were extremely professional and installed without issue. Overall I was impressed with Aranda Air, and love supporting small businesses that differentiate with customer service. read more

I was hoping I can avoid having to leave such a bad review, but I gave them multiple chances. They would not call back or respond my calls or American Home Shield's calls about my work order. They got assigned to my by AHS, and came to look at the AC. They said they would call in a day or 2 with a follow up, it has been 10 days and I called and left mutiple messages, and AHS associates did they same. The measure of a good business can be taken when in a time of challenges, professionalism drives the company to do their best. Aranda Air is not that company. Aranda's owner came by to do work on my ten year old Carrier but was unable to pull up the malfunction codes on my control pad. I had seen it done before, and knew there was a combination of button pushes to find all the information needed. Not wanting to insult or press the matter, breaking his flow and annoying the gentleman since I was lucky to have service come during a pandemic, I let him move on to his diagnostic process at the unit outside. In the end, he was unable to determine or fix the problem. No more than an hour later the malfunction recurred and a miss activation of something called the "contactor" came up as the malfunction code. I made the call to Aranda for help, since the gentleman was unable to access the codes on my controller - I was able to provide the codes for the malfunction and the button combo to access all the malfunction codes. Apparently, with a very gentle mention of this to the "executive administrator" Leslie, the evidence of all mentioned above and evidence sent to her through IM at her request - she was insulted and vindictively held off on my job for over a month - would not answer my calls and left me high and dry. Through this whole process, I was nothing but polite and supportive making at least 5 calls to the company (through Leslie) award of her animus toward me I knew she was not responding to my job. She refused to understand where her technician's (husband's) inability to access a pretty obvious function on this Carrier system and her bias kept her from doing the right thing. She took my money and refused to complete my job, not to mention the waste of my human capital and personal time making several calls to her company and my warranty company (with ultra high wait times). The sad thing is the power she had in placing me and my family in a holding pattern for a month is an obvious corruption of small business ethics.... sad. If a job needs to be done - look elsewhere. read more

Aranda Air Technician Jaime and his assistant arrived on time and were wearing face coverings. Our heater had died 2 days ago and their arrival truly saved Christmas! The other providers I contacted were scheduling 5-10 days out. They promptly diagnosed the problem and installed a new thermostat. They were both very friendly and knowledgeable about our system. They told me I needed to replace our filters and even offered to install them. They reminded me to call anytime if I have any issues at all with the heater. I will definitely use them if I have any heating or AC problems. read more

DIAGNOSTIC/TECHNICAL EXPERTISE Based on my experience, Aranda's work was poor. My furnace was shutting off, and after paying Aranda to diagnose it a cause was not found. Aranda advised that if the unit continued to act up he could install a replacement motherboard kit. After the visit, the furnace continued to shut off randomly. With no experience in furnace repair, I inspected the unit AND FOUND THAT THE FLAME SENSOR WAS LOOSE, AND WORSE, THAT IT WAS BADLY WORN. I replaced it for $24, and the furnace has never failed in the 2 months since. The flame sensor is a basic wear item and that should have been caught, especially since it is a known cause for furnace ignition failure. PRICE Mixed. Aranda's labor rate is good, and in line with other companies I've dealt with. His part price was high. I paid $200 for a Honeywell Vision Pro 8000 thermostat, which can be bought at any number of retail stores for far less. To be sure, any dealer may not compete with a retail store. The lesson learned is that I should have checked to see if it's an easy DIY component (it was). I could have done the job myself and burned money to heat the house and still come out ahead. CUSTOMER SERVICE/COMMUNICATION I agree with some of the other Yelpers, Aranda (in my experience) can be worse than other companies where follow-up is concerned. In fact, before writing this review, I contacted him 3 times concerning required follow-up and after weeks, he has not responded. Otherwise, at least in person, his communication was clear. Aranda committed to submit a thermostat for warranty, took my existing unit but never returned it or submitted the claim, despite being reminded. Aranda also provided advice (that was appreciated) concerning changing motherboard settings - over the phone. When those settings produced an unexpected result, Aranda disappeared and did not respond to a follow-up question. OVERALL ASSESSMENT Overall, Aranda is capable of doing good work (I think), but my experience was that his work and follow-up was fair, if not poor. read more

I started working with these guys on September 10th. Its 11 days and the air-conditioner is still not working., The said it was a faulty board and replaced it! Now they are siting rodent issue as the problem.I had called them atleast 10 times to follow-up , they are highly unresponsive! Fortunately the home warranty company I worked with called for a second opinion. The problem was in the thermostat, replaced the thermostat and everything worked great. Louis, Jaimie and their team did a great job installing an AC unit to work with our current furnace. The only challenge was to finalize the initial quote as we had many moving pieces and things to decide on, it was a relatively slow response process, but once we sealed the deal they came when they promised and finished the work, including taking care of all the permits. Word took a little longer then expected but it's completely understandable as things happen when you need to plug things to existing infrastructure. The main thing is that they came back Monday morning and made sure they finished the work. Staff was friendly, professional and really mindful of keeping our hose neat and clean, they even cleaned after themselves. We're very happy with our new AC. I'll update this review in a year or so... just to verify that we're still happy. read more

We are through America Shield and it took us 7 days to get an appointment. Jamie who came out to house to look at it was super nice and said 2 parts were needed. A circuit board and capacitor. The part of circuit board is 2 weeks out. 1 star due to my grievances below. a) Picked Aranda Air because it had good reviews on Yelp. But insurance customers are supposedly lower in priority and it tooks us 7 weeks to get an appointment. I thought okay let me wait since they had a good rating on yelp. b) Jamie who came out to look at it was super nice, he found that 2 parts needed a capacitor and circuit. It is possible that it;s just the capacitor is out. Jamie said they would call next day, c) Had to call in as there was no call back even almost 48 hours since the visit to the house, Leslie the owner was the one helping. She says the part is 2 weeks aways. I was wondering if I can look elsewhere for the board. I am not sure if this is an insurance thing, but I would think it would be reasonable to look for the part elsewhere. But Aranda air says we can't look for it any where else and as per policy can't let me know what the part number is. d) There were a few red flags she mentions. Supposedly there are folks waiting 6 months out for parts. I said I was going to put in a Yelp review and she said she was going to cancel the order if I was going to do an Yelp review. I think her opinion was I was having too high expectations and I shouldn't because insurance customers are not top priority. read more

If you decide to use Aranda Air. At least do yourself a favor and get a second quote. My furnace stopped working on a Tuesday. On Wednesday, I found Aranda Air here and ask Louis (the owner) to come by and take a look. After examining my furnace for about 5 minutes, Louis confidently told me that the transformer and logic board need to be replaced. A short call later, he returned and told me that the manufacturer no longer make logic board. I need to upgrade to a new board that comes with the ignition. He was quick to show me the math. Parts and labor, the repair would cost $840. If I want to get the furnace repaired before the weekend, he said, I have to make a decision ASAP because he has to call another company you ship him the parts. Even though I dreaded over the possibility of not having heat for 2 days plus the weekend, I resisted the pressure and decided to get a second quote. I paid Louis $89 for his inspection. A technician of another HVAC company in the area came over, looked at my furnace, replaced the transformer and got it working again in 45 minutes. I paid a fraction of Aranda Air's quote. I leave it to you to decided what this means. If you have absolutely no choice but to use Aranda Air. Get a second quote. read more

This review was definitely long over due. About 1.5 years ago, I purchased Trane's high efficient furnace and dual fuel system from Louis. He was very prompt and provided a very detailed and competitive quote. His crew did a great job and the work was done thoroughly. Because it was a new and high efficient system, he paid very close attention to fine tune it to our needs and also came a few times afterwards to troubleshoot a few minor issues. I was very impressed with his knowledge, experience and customer service. Recently during our kitchen remodel, the wire to the 2nd floor thermostat was damaged. Louis came back and spend half a day troubleshooting and trying to fish out the wire. I was very relieved that he was able to get it fixed at the end of the day (for something that he was not responsible for). We have been very satisfied with Louis's service.
