One of my favorite places to eat! I'm usually not the person to venture out from my normal dishes in fear of having a disappointing meal, BUT I have never been disappointed with anything from Arario! It's so incredibly yummy! My faves are the kimchi fries for appetizer and the galbi ribs, pork bulgogi, and beef bibimbop for mains. Who would have thought fries and kimchi could be a good combo!? Definitely don't skip trying those fries. You won't be disappointed! The service at Arario is also great, since it's a small place you're able to get top notch service. The only downfall is since it's a small place, it can get very loud and having a convo can be difficult. Other than that, don't be afraid to try this fusion restaurant! Do friends count towards good ratings because we always go to Arario with some of our good friends and we always have a great time. But in this review I am going to do my best in hitting all the points because Arario seems to be a top contender in most lists these days. Dating, food, creativity and a place to be seen on the Reno level. We always make reservations because I don't like getting psyched up for a meal and then finding out that we just can't be fit in. So reservations here are a must in my opinion. It's always busy when we go during the dinner hour. Lunch and shoulder hours aren't as difficult, but the dinner can be slammed. When I first went into Arario it reminded me of a few places that I have been into in Honolulu. Not insanely fancy but deliberately designed with style and utility both in mind. People are packed in just a little tighter than your intimate date location, but it is definitely not just a cattle call cram them in restaurant. The older I get the less that I like having televisions in anything but a sports bar. My attention span, especially after covid reduced human interactions is so easily distracted by a big flickering screen, especially with amazing looking food being cooked on it. I get it, I really do. I just find it too distracting unless I am eating completely alone. I know, that is a me problem so no official ding to the business, but it is something that people probably would like to know about. They have some TV screens that can be distracting. Friendly staff that engages with you and is clearly working hard to make your evening enjoyable. It's not white glove stand next to your table fantastic. But a really good blend of friendly restaurant and elevated service. In fact it is some of the best traditional service I have had this year. What is a restaurant but a place to eat! And when we go...eat we do. The coolest thing about the menu at Arario is that I never ever run out of options that look good enough to try. From the Hot Pot to the Tofu Stew to the Kimchi Fried Rice to the ever popular Kimchee Fries they have something for every food mood I have been in when I go. The bar selection is also very impressive, whiskeys and hand crafted cocktails as well as some house made soju. Arario is truly a full package restaurant. read more

I'd give this place a 3.5. The service is good, everyone is really friendly, but they get pretty busy and it can take a while to get a table. I mostly come here to watch the food making show on the TV above the bar and to eat Bibimbap. I've tried a couple other things on the menu and they were not my favorite, but the bibimbap is decent. Delish! Ordered the Porky Pops as a starter and Bulgogi Bowl and Beef Bulgogi for our entrees. All were absolutely phenomenal and presented very beautifully. It was a quiet Saturday when we walked in at 4pm but as we left around 5pm it started to get bumpin. We were greeted warmly and Kaylee was our server who was wonderful. Finished the meal off with the lava Bundt cake with green tea ice cream. Honestly, could have ordered 100 of those it was the highlight. When we first walked in to this place it was PACKED, we had reservations because I had heard good things about this place. Our host and servers were very nice . The ambiance of this place is romantic. But also family friendly , it's a great place the staff was attentive . We ordered Two plates both had pork in them , and the pork dumplings/gioza. I can say that I have never tried anything like this place . You can tell they put love into their food, the flavors all molded together really well. It seems a popular place, we came for dinner around 6pm Thursday, seated outside without having to wait, a little bit chilly in the early November evening. The music from the downstairs restaurant was very loud, hard to have a conversation over the dinner table. Still an amazing option and a treat for the tastebuds. This past visit I dined with a few friends. We enjoyed several drink and meal options. We did a cold, unfiltered sake as well as water. Then we did a few appetizers and entrees. Everything was great but the highlights were the pork pops and japchea. The glass noodles are so yummy and the sauce is delicious. The glaze on the pork pops is delicious and pairs nice with the crunch of the pork pop. The service was top notch and I am a huge fan of the large booth in the front left corner near the bar. You can be in all the action but also set back to enjoy good company and conversation. We plan to move closer to this area in the future and that will definitely make this a more frequent weeknight dining spot. read more

We chose this spot for my first meal after a bodybuilding competition. I'm so glad this is where we landed. The service and staff here were absolutely phenomenal. They were very accommodating and pleasant. It was a bustling time of night as there was a street fair going on at the same time. I'm not sure how it's like every other night, but I'm glad we made reservations. The ambiance is hip and trendy but not tacky. Dimly lit at night and a great place to have a romantic dinner or have plans for world domination. Do yourself a favor and order the kimchi fries. Omg absolutely amazing. Not sure if it was because I had been on zero carbs for a few days or the fact that my diet the day consisted of a bag of lace potato chips and rice krispy treats that day but the first bite sent me to heaven. I had the galbi burger which was epic. Really nice cheese pull and the meat was flavorful. The only part of our meal that didn't hit our mark was the pork chop. Arario is our favorite spot in Reno! We've been coming back every year to celebrate both of our birthdays for years now. The Korean-fusion dishes are outstanding -- the Shrimp Tempura, Bulgogi Bowl (add an egg), Beef Short Rib Galbi, Tofu Stew with Pork, and Yuk Su Hot Pot Beef Bulgogi are all must-tries. The staff is friendly, the vibe is lively and modern, and there are great gluten-free and vegan options, too. Food was amazing, when looking at the reviews everyone said to get the Kimchee Fries and it was definitely worth it. It was so good that my partner and I enjoyed it. We got the Beef Bulgogi and the Bulgogi Bowl and it was very enjoyable and give the food a 5 Star But I give it a 3 star because of the service, I'm not one to care a lot about service and I understand that each waiter has their busy tables and workflow but the service was a bit off putting and unsettling. I understand that my waiter might not always be present and I can always rely on other passerby ones for a small box togo. However when I made eye contact with another waiter it was purely upsetting when I made eye contact AND waved and he looked at me for another two seconds and walked away like nothing happened. Then another issue was with the bill, to be honest it was an easy mistake to make but a big loss for me if I didn't catch it. My bill came out to 71$ and I handed a 50$ bill and my card asking if they can use the bill and use the rest on my card. They said yes and took the card and the cash, then when I got my receipt they charged me 50$ instead of 21$. If I didn't catch this myself I would've lost 30$ but they fixed it right away. Overall, the food was amazing, possibly the best Korean food/fusion in Reno. I just wish the service was better but pretty sure that can be easily fixed. But will definitely come back if I want to treat myself to more good food. read more

This is a good "go-to" Korean fusion restaurant for food and drink. The kimchi fries are a must-have, and you can go with classic Korean or fusion. It's always crowded, even on weekdays. Parking is not an issue if you are okay parking in an open lot which is close by. The only downside is that you have to go outside and downstairs to use the restroom. Hands down one of the best places to eat in Midtown! Also the owner TJ is a wonderful guy who's also there most of the time which is rare for an owner to be at his place. We knew it had been a while since we'd visited Arario...we knew it was pre-pandemic but I just saw our date night visit was in 2018! Wow! Well, the great news is that Arario is still KILLING IT! We recently returned for a business-y dinner meeting with some friends, and as I looked back at my 2018 review, I realized we ordered pretty much exactly the same items again! I'm not even sure how we did that, but I guess we have our favorites! The drinks were great, service was lovely, and the food was fantastic. One of he people we dined with used to be a server there, and to me it says a great volume about quality, service and how they treat staff that you'd continue to return there for a nice meal after you no longer work there! Arario is a solid date night or casual business dinner location. The deck is open for glorious summer evening seating, too! First Korean fusion joint I wanted to try in Reno and was not disappointed. My niece and I ordered the fried chicken wings w/sweet & spicy K sauce, which really isn't spicy if you've had real Korean food, but you can request the heat level...these were amazing! You can also choose the garlic soy sauce version, but the server recommended the sweet & spicy, which was a good call. Then we both got the dolsot bibimbap...my niece ordered the beef, and the other listed option was seafood. The server said I can also have spicy pork as well even though that wasn't listed on the menu, which I selected. The doldot dishes came in frying on their iron skillets as expected, complete with a fried egg & veggies. The spicy pork was very flavorful & yummy...even more so than the beef, which was also good, but my niece said she'd order the spicy pork next time. Their house gochujang (red pepper sauce) that you add on top of your bibimbap was also solid...not the best, but not the worst I've had...but I recommend it with your bibimbap. We will definitely come back here again next time we're in town, visiting family. Being from the San Francisco area where there are a lot of great Korean joints, I'm so pleased Arario's Korean fusion didn't water down the classic Korean dishes. Such a great mix of tastes. Get it! Bibimbop w/ Beef: absolutely delicious. The meat is perfectly sweet and the rice can be cooked to your preference with the hot bowl. Took my friend to lunch today for his birthday and he's been wanting to try it out since I told him how great the food was! Took awhile to find parking as it was around lunch hour for downtown but finally did and had a nice walk there. :) Didn't have reservations but they were able to seat us right away and we were greeted and given menus and cold water right away. We sat by the kitchen so we were able to see where the action was. After ordering a cocktail we decided on the Kimchi fries as an appetizer, my friends choice and recommended by our waiter. They came out shortly after our drinks and wow they were good! More then enough to share!! Very cheesy and spicy with the kimchi and beef, definitely have to try! We both ordered the pork Bulgogi bowls and they came fresh and hot and huge portions! ( I took half home!) Our server was super friendly and asked if we were celebrating as I had brought a gift for my friends birthday. Being a solid five-star restaurant, Arario really doesn't need one more vote from me, but here we go. I kept reading good reviews, but I never had a chance to visit, until very recently when my girlfriend took me out for lunch. This restaurant is in the area I don't frequent to, and that may have been one of the reasons I didn't know where exactly it was. Not easy to find, if you didn't know it was upstairs to a quaint pretty spot. It's contemporary, cool looking restaurant, and it's also very comfortable and cozy. It reminds me of several restaurants in San Francisco. They were busy for lunch, and in the very back near the kitchen, the noise level was pretty high. As the customers ebbed away, the noises calmed down as well. I ordered Arario Salad with bulgogi beef on top. Oh my, it's very substantial! Excellent beef, tasty salad. We joked about having seating in the kitchen on the way to our table, and to be honest. It was the best seat in the house. Not only do you get to smell the delicious food, but you watch it go out. NOTHING is better than ordering the food you see based soul-heartedly on the chef's presentation. I will say we have never gone wrong doing so, and this restaurant solidified this experience. The server was AMAZING and was extremely helpful, helping us decide on dinner options and tending to our table like I've never experienced. Make reservations if you can. The restaurant is on the smaller side and stays pretty consistently busy all night. If you don't mind grabbing a drink and hanging at the bar or across the street at Death and Taxes. Came here for a friend's birthday dinner a few weeks ago. I've been wanting to try this restaurant out for a while because everyone says it's really good. We had a big party so we were sat in the back. Although, I don't think the table was big enough for us. The Japchae was really good and had a lot of vegetables! I wasn't a big fan of the udon and I usually love udon so I was really sad about this one. It was just kind of bland for me. Not pictured was the potstickers because we are those as soon as they came out! Also, fair warning, the restroom is downstairs, under the stairs and through a door lol. Overall, it was a good experience and I think I'll come back and try a few other things from the menu that I didn't get to try yet. read more

We enjoyed Miso Salmon Salad, and Beef Bulgobi Bowls and cocktails. All were very excellent, healthy servings and the service was great. I would definitely return.
