And with all the other options in Hayes I'll probably leave it next time out, though I'd like to visit again to see how the patio looks at night time. We came here Saturday around 4pm. It was a nice day out so we wanted to check out the patio. They have a neighboring/connected wine bottle shop so we grabbed a bottle and ordered some food. Get this - if you buy a bottle from their bottle shop, they still charge you a $10 corkage fee???? I'm not sure if it's a completely separate business or what but it doesn't seem like it. Seems like even if it was a separate business they should've worked something out to avoid this. The cheapest rose we could find was $18 but turned into a $30 bottle of crappy wine. Definitely opt for glasses. We ordered food as well - I got the smash burger, and boyfriend & brother in law the fried chicken sandwich, sister got the falafel bowl. Mine was super meh. Very very smashed and crispy but a little over down - the cheese was no longer cheese but dried out cheese crisp. They didn't love the chicken sandwich either, but The big winner was the curly fry. This used to be Arlequin. Now rebranded as Arbor and offering slightly different foods. Interior seems cleaner, more spacious, and they still have the lovely patio in the back for outdoor seating. Food is pretty good. And pairs well with the wine shop next door (same restaurant group) if you like some wine with your food. I have personally never tried their wines during lunch because I always come here on days while I'm working in the area, but this would be lovely as an after work treat. DO NOT COME HERE FOR BIG EVENTS I don't usually write reviews often, but this was a horrible experience. We're usually regulars of Arbor but after this, we've realized they've succumbed to a capitalist agenda. We had a 10-12 person party and 2 of us came early to reserve some seats. After finding out that we had a big party, they told us because we didn't reserve a the spot for $1500 so we would have to move to a tiny little area in the corner of the dining area instead. This was also after we already ordered food and set up for a birthday. So it was a humiliating experience having to move all of our items and food to another area. After all of our party came, we saw that that the area we originally set up in was not even reserved and they just moved us out because of their greediness. It's honestly so sad because we would go to arbor for most of our special occasions, but after this, we will never come back. They made a special birthday occasion much less fun and squeezed us into a tight space. And to be honest, the food had gotten worse and more expensive after the pandemic. Vibes might seem good from the outside, but BEWARE. I'm fully taking this off my recommended list for friends and I'll remind you.... DO NOT COME HERE FOR LARGE PARTIES. read more

The outdoor patio area in the back is to die for! I went this summer for my birthday lunch and it was sooooo adorable! Here's an overview of the items I've ordered: - Double smash burger (3/5): This burger was okay but unfortunately a bit too soggy and difficult to pick up to eat. The others in my party had the same reaction as well. Enchanting. Came here for lunch and was absolutely happy and satisfied. The service wad quick - which for weekday lunch is a big plus! The fact that you can eat peacefully at an easy pace with an appropriate amount of time for the lunch is really nice for a sit down lunch hour. I had a chicken ceasar there yesterday and opted for the grilled chicken, instead of fried. It came out immediately telling me that they did not cook the chicken to order but seems to me tossed some cold chicken thigh meat that had sitting around in it. It was not grilled chicken, it had the consistency of boiled chicken. For the amount of money I paid for this chicken caesar and mimosa a whooping $36.50 plus tip, I expected much better. From the outside, Arbor looks very unsuspecting, but upon walking in, you're greeted by a great outdoor space in the back where you can enjoy your meal! We came on a Sunday night and it was fairly busy but we were able to find a table outside very easily. We ordered the Cobb Salad, cheeseburger, and curly fries. The salad was decent (6/10) but probably wouldn't get again since it's something I could make at home and I didn't feel as if the product justified the price. The cheeseburger was really good (8/10) and juicy and I would definitely recommend! All the ingredients taste really fresh and the meat was a nice medium well. The curly fries stole the show and would come back just for those! The total came out to a little over $50 for these 3 items so it's definitely a little pricey, but that's to be expected in San Francisco. The fish was good, the batter not great. The bun looked nothing like it does with any of the photos shown. It was a basic hamburger bun from a grocery store. When I arrived here I was confused on how the ordering worked. There are signs saying to order from the table, but there is also an iPad register at the front to order from, so we ended up ordering inside. The restaurant is fast-casual (which I love!) and the food came out super fast. I tried the chicken sandwich and it was good, but almost too crispy. The curly fries tasted like they had been sitting out a while, and they definitely weren't warm, but they still tasted pretty good. The meal was only about $15 which isn't bad for the area, and the seating area is sooooo nice. We sat in the back patio area, which blocked most of the wind and it was nice not hearing the cars roar by on Hayes like in the parklets. They also had heat lamps which kept it nice and warm. This place is maybe the best spot to be in Hayes. We came on a Sunday, plenty of outside seating, and had some drinks! It's the best price in town from what I researched. We all know how much cheaper it is to drink at home now, but everyone needs some outside time and to just be served! We ordered an IPA ($5), sparkling rose, still rose, and garlic fries. The French rose ($8/9) was great. Garlic fries ($6) are amazing! I was a bit bummed to be drinking out of plastic ware. I get why, but I hate drinking wine out of compost/plastic. I need my stem- feel me? When it started to get dark, the staff rolled plenty of heat lamps and I was very warm! Also, the SF opera had four orchestra artists play. That was such a highlight! I can't wait for things to open back and see and listen to the orchestra again. They are affiliated with absinthe, so you can also order from them if they are open. I went next door to Arlequin to buy some wine to go. All are sister properties. Walk away with the Hayden Fig Pinot noir ($26) from Oregon. One of our go-to spots during this social distancing, outdoor dining era, Arbor has such a cute and serene back garden patio. We love that it's off the street and quieter than most parklets and other outdoor scenarios in the city these days. We placed and paid for our first order at the walk up window and were directed around the building to the back garden, where we were greeted, informed of the dining process and given our drinks. Our food came out shortly after (everything is served in to-go containers for ease and limited contact). Of course we would have preferred plates, but such is life during COVID times. No issue at all. The curly fries are soooo tasty and perfectly seasoned / crisp, the happy hour deals are solid and they have vegan options throughout the menu!
