NADC is located inside the Latta Arcade. It was my first time in the Arcade, so I'm not sure if it's usually hot or if the AC wasn't working, but it was stifling in there! Parking is always an issue in Charlotte but we were lucky enough to get street parking a block away. After checking the delivery service app and the online prices, I saw that the delivery app was originally charging double the normal price and the "sale" prices were pretty much them charging the regular price or close to it. The sandwich preparation area was also noticeably dirty, with food debris and an overall lack of cleanliness around the station. In a restaurant where food is prepared directly in front of customers, this is something that should be addressed immediately. As a customer, it was frustrating to stand there waiting while my order was repeatedly interrupted. I understand that businesses can be short-staffed, but customers should be served in the order they arrive and food preparation areas should be kept clean and organized. What was most disappointing was the response when I asked to just checkout instead of continuing to wait questioning the process. Rather than addressing the concern, I was told, "Don't come in here telling me how to do my job, it's just me, I'm trying to be productive." Around 9:20 PM, I received a call from Olivia, the shift lead. She was incredibly calm, professional, and kind while explaining that she wasn't at the store and the employees working that night were fairly new and that they usually appreciate a little advance notice for catering orders. She asked whether I still wanted to move forward with the order. I told her I completely understood the situation and wouldn't be upset if they needed to cancel since it was so late and inconvenient. A little while later, Olivia called me back to let me know the catering had turned out great and that they could still deliver it if I wanted. When the order arrived, I was so impressed! Both catering boxes looked fantastic, and everything was prepared beautifully. I truly appreciate the employees who stayed late and put such care into making our order, and I especially want to thank Olivia for her outstanding customer service. I ordered a hot dog and soda online for pickup so I could sit and wait while the rain passed. To get the basics out of the way, my order was ready promptly and asking for it was no issue. I really want to brag on the kindest woman working behind the register, who saw a ton of rained-out people run in and addressed each of them with kindness and zero sense of a rush (despite probably feeling rushed with the influx of customers). When I got my meal, I had to remind her that I had ordered a small drink. I hope this doesn't get anyone in trouble but she so kindly provided me with a large cup instead of a small. I think she knew I'd be stuck inside for a while. Everyone behind the counter (at the register and in the kitchen) had a really smooth operation going on, great communication and a pleasant vibe you could sense. My hotdog and drink were perfect, as expected, but to run inside all wet and not feel like a burden for sticking around, and to see truly awesome customer service, was a really awesome experience:)

Before, a trip to Ace meant driving over to Belmont. Now there's an Uptown location tucked into the bottom of the One South building with a convenient street-side entrance and walk-up window right off Tryon Street. When a burger craving hits, I can simply walk over instead of getting in the car. The best part? The food is every bit as good as the original locations. The burgers are juicy, flavorful, and consistently executed. Simple menu. High-quality ingredients. Great value. Sometimes the simplest things are the hardest to get right, and Ace continues to nail it. The staff has always been friendly and welcoming, and I appreciate that they've kept pricing reasonable while maintaining quality. The half-price milkshake happy hour is dangerous in the best possible way, and the Burger Bucks loyalty program is a nice bonus for regulars.
