It was a great experience. We sat at the bar on a Sunday afternoon. Seth was an awesome and attentive bar/beer tender. He knew his about his beer and the beers on the menu. I would normally have a picture of my gorgeous beer too; but, I just forgot, maybe it was because the had a stout was good?!? What I thought was the cat's pajamas was this exquisite donut. It maybe only available on Sunday's, I am not entirely sure. Also from my understanding they change is donut up every Sunday too. Back to the donut, this week's was an Orange Creamsicle. I thought it tasted like a "push-up" (remember those orange push-ups in the polka dot cardboard tube?). This donut was so awesome, a little crunch from the frying. The sweetness is in the, creamy filling you could lick off the plate but, I used restraint and didn't. The frosting covering the top of the donut, OMG...Tangy and had orange zest in the frosting...And the candied blood orange topping the frosting.... Completely delicious! read more

I have never left a review for a restaurant before but after tonight I felt necessary! Had a group of 15-16 which we made reservations for at 4 pm. The place was not busy. Ordered drinks and appetizers first drinks came out fairly quickly. After we finished those drink we waited and we waited for the waitress to even come check on us. By the way we haven't ordered our food yet. Finally she comes back. Order food and some more drinks. 20 min late still no drinks. Go up to bar to figure out what's going on. Finally 1 at a time they start coming out. First table of food comes out. We had two different tables not seated all together (that's ok) 15 -20 min later next tables food comes out. I get we have 15 people the but the difference in times the food came out unacceptable. Oh did I forget one of our people never even got his food. What did they do nothing actually never even apologized. We got there at 4 left at 545. Had to change out reservations at cannonsburg from 530-6 and we still barely made the 6. The worst part we got charged 22% tipping for having a group which would be fine and acceptable if we all got our food at the same time and a reasonable time. Service. Our dinners however, the Cuban and ramen were very good and large portions. My husband got a couple beers and enjoyed them. They have a nice outdoor area and we would definitely go back. read more

After attending a fruited sour beer release at another local brewery, my wife and I were feeling a little peckish and were cool with delaying our return to pick up our toddler son for a little while longer, so decided to stop by Archival for a little food and a beer that didn't taste like fruit juice. The interior of the space is really cool and inviting and it's obvious that a lot of care went into the revocation and decoration of the space. The staff shortage was evident with several open tables but still having a 20 minute wait. No worries! We were happy to hang out and enjoy the air conditioning. After being seated outside, service was friendly and efficient. The beer menu is unique and interesting as it focuses on historic beers, and lacks the "sexy" new styles, which I found refreshing. I got the English IPA and my wife enjoyed the schwarzbier and we were both happy with our choices. However, it was the food that stole the show for us. We split the tempura veggies appetizer (amazing!) and the curry veggie tacos. They were both very fresh and vibrant and it was clear that everything is made with care and quality ingredients. We will certainly be back to order a couple flights and 100 orders of the tempura veggies. read more

Made a late dinner stop yesterday with my wife. The very young hostess was clearly not well trained and made a very passing nod in the direction of the stairs to take down to the outdoor seating. Finding our way down, we were greeted relatively quickly by a server who then took some time to return for our order. There seemed to be several servers around but most were cleaning up, sweeping, putting chairs on tables for the impending closing (they had well over and hour before closing) and not intent on serving. I witnessed virtually ever table but ours having to ask for utensils which seemed odd. All in all the service was pretty poor and the food mediocre. read more

The building and site are beautiful. The drinks are ok and they have mead which sets them apart from others in the area. The food menu seemed a little skim and we opted for the charcuterie board and the potatoes to hold us over until we hit up another place for dinner. While the food was good, there wasn't anything too special or unique about either of our choices. That said, some of the food we did see others enjoy looked delicious. Will definitely check back to see where they are a couple months after their opening. Best of luck and we will return! read more

This place has a lot of potential with the amazing building/patio and grounds however the food is very mediocre. Ordered the poutine and it had too much gravy and came out ice cold. I was excited to come back here cause the food and drinks were good last time. Sadly this disappointed in almost every way. Wait time was said to be 15-20 minutes and took 35 minutes to be seated for a party of 3. Once seated we were told the kitchen was behind 45 minutes.. This should have been upfront front initial check in with hostess. Drink for our child never came so had to go to bar after another 15 minutes. The food was good and hot once arrived. After we were done had to wait a long time for bill where I eventually had to go to bar to be acknowledged to pay. Sadly I don't think we will beck unless things drastically change. read more

This was our fourth trip to Archival Brewing. Previously we had enjoyed dining there but we webt this past Friday for a family members birthday. THe food quality was not what we had experienced in the past. Not only did our food take 50 minutes to arrive at our table. Another table next to us arrived after us and paid their bill before our food even came out to our table. We were told it would be a few more minutes and it was at least 30 more minutes. Then when the food arrived it tasted like it was sitting somewhere for dat least 25 minutes. THe fires were cold and we had to ask for new fries. We are just so disappointed the quality of food at this restayrant has changed so much. read more

What a delight! Great food and beer. Our server, Dan, provided good information and suggestions for our beer selections which were spot on and good choices. Our food was fantastic. Absolutely horrible with large groups. It took 2.5 hours for our entire group to get their food. People that came after us, ordered after us, had eaten and were gone an hour before we had food. No one ever came to apologize or explain, the waitress hid from us, no explanations or discounts were given, and then they automatically charged us 22% for the tip! read more

We have given this brewery 4 or 5 chances but each time we have had issues. Most recently we stopped in Friday right around 5 intending to have dinner. Through no fault of the brewery there was a private party off to one side of about 50 people. The hostess seated us right next to this huge group even though there were several other tables available away from this loud get together. After speaking to her we chose to move over to the bar where we waited far too long for anyone to acknowledge us or even give us water. With a party that size there was not nearly enough staff to meet the needs of the other patrons. The bartender was very busy just getting drinks ready for them which meant the people at the bar had to wait. It was so loud that we decided to just finish our beers and go elsewhere for dinner. There's really only one beer we like and the food is mediocre at best and they are often out of various ingredients. What stops us from going back again is that each time we've been there we have intestinal distress the following day even on days when we only have the beer. The location and atmosphere seemed really great here, but we had to leave without ever being served. After ten minutes of no service I approached the host table to let them know, and asked to make sure they had someone assigned to our table. They apologized me and assured someone would be over. After another ten minutes with no service, we left. We had a toddler and unfortunately couldn't wait any longer for food and drinks. I was excited to finally try this place and was very disappointed and have no reason to return. I have extra patience and grace to offer knowing restaurants are short staffed, but they seemed to have plenty of wait staff and it wasn't terribly busy on a Saturday night. To start, not a person in the place could tell me if any of their beers were lower carb so I had to stick with water (I'm diabetic, so this is important). I ordered the french dip with no bun and a side caesar salad. The meat was good, but was missing the horseradish sauce. I started on the salad while I waited for the waitress to return so that I could ask for the sauce. The caesar was an upcharge of $1 (no biggie) but the dressing had absolutely NO flavor. It was like putting straight up flavorless mayo on the salad and it was as thick as mayo as well. So I sit waiting for the waitress to ask for a different dressing. Another guest of ours also had the caesar as her main dish and agreed that it was terrible. The main dish cost $15 for a plate of romaine and mayo! Want to add chicken, then you get a $20 plate of romaine and mayo. The rest of my guests are about done with their dinner and I had not even seen our waitress in the dining room this entire time to even flag her down. She never came to check on our meals. I ate the french dip meat because I was now starving and it was cold. My guests still haven't gotten their beers that they ordered before the food arrived. When she finally came to the table and I explained the problems, she offered me a different dressing and said she would just tell the kitchen about the missing sauce. She returned to let me know that they were now out of the balsamic dressing I asked for a came with the only other option that they had. It was called something I had never heard of before and tasted like plain runny yogurt. She said she would see what she could do about taking it off of my bill. I had promised my daughter the rootbeer float for dessert, but we opted to swing by the grocery store and make our own at home because I didn't have faith at this point that they could even do that right. Waitress returns with the bill (our guests never got their beers and had to ask her to remove them from their bill) and nothing was taken off of mine for the bad salad. I'm over it at this point and just want to leave. She then charges the wrong bill on our card causing us to have to wait for her to now fix this. I left hangry and annoyed. WIth so many other better options around, I have no reason to return. read more

My family and I heard about this brewery opening and wanted to give it a try. The building and inside was very pretty. Though it didn't seem that there was much of an atmosphere. The food was alright, but unfortunately, we were not impressed by the menu. The brewery had only been open for about a month, so I understand starting out with a small menu. However, the few items on the menu were very unique and disappointing, especially when expecting typical items such as a burger or a wrap. They also seemed overpriced, such as the chicken thigh for $18. I had the blueberry salad and it was good. It had cornbread croutons (which was my favorite part) and was topped with a lemon dressing. Though the menu said it had feta, there was no feta on my salad. I feel that it would have been better with feta. I would love to come back and support this new business, so I hope they add some more items to their menu! read more

We've been a couple times but stopped again on a Sunday. Discovered kids eat free on Sundays. This was such a great kids meal. Our beers were great as was both my husband and my meals. The service personnel were great, atmosphere was very nice, everything was clean, and organized. The drink selection is interesting, unusual, and might fit what some people are interested in trying. Based on a previous visit, the beer seemed to have an off-taste, but might still be acceptable to some. The artichoke dip with in-house chips was great along with the deep-fried cod provided for the fish & chips entree. However, the bacon cheddar smash-burger was dried-out and lukewarm (actually it was just terrible), also the fries provided with both the fish & chips and the smash-burger were cold when they arrived at our table, and there was an obvious attempt to warm them because they had clearly been re-fried based on the rubbery grease-soaked texture, (they were also terrible). If stopping to try an unusual beer, and you get hungry, I would recommend the artichoke dip for an appetizer, but I would not recommend either a smash-burger or the fish & chips. Unfortunately, overall I would have to recommend getting your food elsewhere because for us, after 2-failed visits, we will not be returning. read more
