Ari, I heart you. I'm sorry for saying "Ari is mid" 5 years ago lmao. One of my go-to (not AYCE) kbbq place in Dallas. Eugene (the owner) and all the servers we've had have been so nice and accommodating. I love that they cook your meat for you coz your girl needs to relax and enjoy the food at kbbq places some times :') Love the ambiance here, you can see everybody here just has a good time - bonus for the music not being too loud. Their cold noodle is the best I've had in the area. I ALWAYS get it and could finish the whole thing by myself (unfortunately my fiancé likes it too and j have to share :'( ). Their soy bean soup and banchan are so tasty too. My fav meats to get are the seasoned short rib & pork jowl. I looove eating the egg, meat, rice and kimchi all in one bite. When i first walked in, Immediately felt how nice the atmosphere was .the steak was so delicious that i asked the friendly server about it, and they told me it was Angus beef, They are also said they have aged steak.so I'll definitely try that next time. read more

This review is from a visit in March 2023~ Solid Korean BBQ spot, likely the best in Texas. On par with classic KBBQ in LA like Baekjeong or Quarters. Solid quality meat, especially beef. We were VERY impressed with the beef and service. The samgyupsal for some reason was not that good when we went (a bit hard and not chewy), but we will have to come back to check it again. Tenjangjjigae was really solid, and side dishes were good. Only thing was they're not serving corn cheese right now as apparently they are undergoing some legal issue about popping kernels right now that prevents them from serving it. Either way, we had an amazing experience here and will be returning to try out other meats when we come back in July. But overall-- good to see a quality KBBQ spot in Carrolton. The food: the food was delicious we got the "beef combo for 3" ($120) and it was very well portioned. The sides were all the typical ones. Both the beef and sides were of good quality, flavor, portions, and variety. They offer beer, soju, and wine, but they also have a bar on the top floor with amazing cocktails. Came on a Wednesday night and it was packed! I believe I waited almost an hour! Recently I went to Ari with my boyfriend because I heard great things about Ari and really wanted to try it. The food at Ari is solid. I normally eat at Ari with family, and every type of meat is delicious. I also love that you get a bottomless serving of side salad consisting of spring mix lettuce, as well as the usual side dishes (banchan) that are typically served at Korean restaurants. A cool feature here is the space on the borders of the grill for cooking eggs and cheese with corn. The kids especially seem to love them. I'm finally writing this review because, after frequenting the Plano location of Ari countless times, we recently came to the Carrollton location, and I could not help but notice the impeccable service. Our server made sure we always had eggs and cheese with corn cooking on the side, and we never had to ask for more water. In fact, I don't recall having to ask the server for refills or extras of anything. Kudos to the staff at the Carrollton Ari. I've been to this restaurant twice and loved it both times. The first time I came it was with a friend who is very familiar with Korean BBQ so she helped us make great food recommendations, told us what food to eat together and she cooked the meats for us. I loved the salad and soup that we were served - absolutely delicious! We ordered the pork belly which was separate and just okay. I am a big fan of pork belly, but probably wouldn't order it again. They give you unlimited cheese corn, egg and sides for the meal. I don't eat cheese corn, but my friends told me it was very good. I enjoyed the eggs with the sticky rice and meats. They also give you four different kind of sauces to try so you're bound to find something that suits your fancy. The second time I went it was with another couple, who had never been to a Korean BBQ before, so I let the waiters explain how everything worked. There were three servers who rotated coming back and making sure the meat was cooked perfectly. Lee, Joon and Jenny were both very friendly and provided great recommendations. Because there were 4 of us we decided to do the beef and pork combo and it was amazing! Plenty of food for the 4 of us, especially when you consider the sides and salad. Oh, and because the sides are unlimited, they will let you take any leftovers home, which I think is also a great plus. So, a few tips - #1 Make a reservation. This place gets SUPER packed and you can wait 30-45 mins for a table during peak times. Open Table told me a table wasn't available during the time I wanted so I emailed them and they responded quickly and reserved our table. #2 (and why they only got 4 stars) The servers won't bring alcoholic beverages to your table. There is a lounge upstairs which is very cozy (I recommend you try it) and it has AMAZING drinks! Yuri and Christian put it down up there, but if you want another drink once you start eating you have to go back up to the lounge to get it. If you're in cute heels, make sure you use the handrail to balance yourself as you walk downstairs with your drink. The meat quality at Ari is slightly better than the nearby AYCE spots, but for a much higher price. The banchan was good, but I wasn't a huge fan of the corn and egg being attached to the grill, I thought it felt messy and the cheese corn hardly had any cheese in it. The servers do grill the meat for you, and the tables are set up with the grill closer to the end so the server doesn't have to get super in your space which I appreciated. We got the Beef and Pork Combination Large, which comes with four different meats, several sides, and two soups. Unlike other KBBQ places, you don't need to cook your own food. First of all, be prepared to wait but it's well worth it. Quality of meat is great, if you're used to AYCE kbbq, this will be a game changer for you because quality is so much better. They have meat sets or you can order a la carte. We usually do a la carte because we don't like everything in the preset menus such as marinated meats. There's lots of KBBQ places in Carrollton, and so my friends and I decided to check out Ari. Ari is NOT an AYCE so keep that in mind before you come! The wait is pretty long (about 75 min when we went Friday evening), but luckily, there's a lot of things nearby for us to shop and see while we waited. Right away, one thing that sets Ari apart from other kbbq places is that the servers will grill the meat for you! A pro is they know how to cook the meat well and are super attentive. However, they cook one meat type at a time, and so if you're like me who likes to have a different meat every other bite, this isn't possible here. I really love the banchan here - kimchi was super fresh (one of my favorites actually), but I do prefer Gen's salad over theirs. The egg and corn concept is really neat but the corn was bland. My husband LOVED the egg though. Meat was great quality (beef short rib fingers were my absolute favorite) and the nice thing about the place not being acye is that I really could enjoy every bite without feeling like I had to get my money's worth. I went to Ari by recommendation with 3 friends. The restaurant is an open floor plan, spacious, and filled with delicious smelling grills. The music is great and not too loud. Have to love when you try something different or new and it turns out great. ARI was incredible. We had a 1 hour wait, but walked around shops and stores near by and it went very fast. Love that the cheese corn and steam eggs are unlimited refills here. Their hot chilly dipping sauces are bombs!! The $43 Boneless Prime Short Ribs are definitely worth the price and must try. We also ordered a $90 Medium Size Beef & Pork Combo. The marinated sauce is a bit too sweet to our liking & we also had better pork belly quality somewhere else but meat quality overall was great. We also ordered the Small Intestine $26 but they grilled it in a pan so all the fat stay within the pan like you were deep frying the intestines not grilling, which made it very oily and greasy. Because a staff member told my pregnant (Asian) wife that she had been COLONIZED by the white man. Yes, you read that correctly. My wife wanted to come here to have great quality meat like the one back in Buena Park. It is not an All You Can Eat buffet, but you can tell the meat is better quality. Be prepared to spend quite a bit of money though as a small for two people is $65 dollars and if you ordered more like we did it went up to $130 dollars. Service was outstanding as they do cook the food for you unlike an AYCE buffet and they cook it well. I wasn't going to leave a review since my brother recently left one, but I feel it's important to share my experience. This was the first time in my dining history that I felt truly uncomfortable due to poor service. At first, everything was fine. The server greeted us, asked if we had been there before, took our drink orders, and gave us time to decide. He even made a joke about root beer, which I played along with. However, when I politely asked, 'Is it cool if we cook for ourselves?' his demeanor subtly changed. He initially responded politely, so we didn't think much of it, but looking back, it seemed to offend him. While I don't feel obligated to explain why we wanted to cook for ourselves, management should consider that some customers may feel more comfortable doing so. After that, service declined significantly. For 20-30 minutes, no one checked on us. At first, I assumed our server was giving us space, but it's basic service etiquette to check on guests, offer refills, and see if they need anything else. Despite empty water bottles, side dishes, and drinks, no one asked if we wanted refills. We had intended to order more meat but couldn't because no one came by to take additional orders. When Alex finally returned, it was only to make a passive-aggressive comment: 'Hey, I heard you guys broke the grill!' At the time, my cousin and I thought he was joking, but in hindsight, it seemed pointed. When I asked, 'Does this happen often?' he replied, 'With you, yeah. Us? No.'--which caught us off guard. Even after that interaction, service did not improve. We placed our empty water bottles at the table's edge to make it clear that we needed refills, yet no one came. It felt like we were overlooked, and the staff seemed aware but made no effort to improve the experience. When we left, the hosts at the front didn't acknowledge us or say something along the lines of thank you for coming or have a good night, reinforcing the overall poor service experience. I'm not sure if Alex assumed that us cooking for ourselves meant we wouldn't tip or if our age played a role in the lack of service. Ironically, we thought we were helping by taking some of the workload off since it was a busy Saturday night. Regardless of the reason, this level of service is unprofessional. It reflects poorly on both the staff and management--how can you hire someone who doesn't respect the customers who contribute to their paycheck? I'm not here to argue that 'the customer is always right,' but I do believe every guest deserves basic respect. If cooking for myself is frowned upon, I would have appreciated clear communication instead of passive-aggressive treatment. I still tipped 15% on a $200 tab, but I left disappointed. If you find yourself with Alex as your server, you may want to consider requesting another one. read more
