I was in the mood for Mediterranean/Persian food and glad my trusted Yelp App led me to Aria while I was in the area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I walked into a spacious cozy restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was seated right away by the hostess. And from there, I enjoyed the service from the super friendly waitresses. I knew exactly what I wanted to eat....Beef and Chicken Combo. My dinner was wonderfully deeelicious...sooo fresssh-n-flavorful. I'll definitely be back to try the other dishes. I highly recommend this hidden gem to the Yelp Community :-)

What a hidden gem! We were craving some good kebabs and found this nearby so decided to come try. We were greeted warmly and sat right away with our server providing lots of recommendations. We decided to start with the Falafel appetizer and lentil soup followed by the beef koobideh and chicken koobideh kebabs which also came with a big salad. Everything was so fresh and delicious- enjoyed the food and service!

A hidden gem for great authentic Persian food! Absolutely love their kabob plate and it's a good portion of food and always consistently taste great. They also have beer and wine, really good traditional and authentic Iranian food and desserts. I've been here with family at least a dozen times and it's always so good! I made this account just to post this review. It was my first time trying Mediterranean food, and I ate everything on that plate. You will never catch me eating a grilled whole tomato or onion but I ate those up too. Whatever they did to it was magic, I ate it with the meat, I ate it with the bread, shit it was yummy just by its self. The meat was tender and literally melts in your mouth. I've never had that happen before. The rice was just yummy and whatever that sauce is, I drank it. I'm not from the area but I crave this place all the time. I have high standards because of this place. I don't want to go anywhere else. I'll see you at my wedding.

This place is really delicious and consistent with what you receive. My friends ordered the gyro plate, a kabob koobideh plate and I got a Greek salad. Portions are really large, definitely large enough to share. My salad was yummy with lots of feta but I thought it could have used more toppings. Service is friendly and attentive. Aria is one of the BEST restaurants in San Marcos. Authentic, huge portions, their own parking lot, great service, amazing quality. Highly recommend the faloodeh! It's my fav ice cream ever!!

This was a nice Persian restaurant. The workers were friendly and attentive. I enjoyed my meal. The koobideh was delicious! You will love their desserts if you like the taste of rose water. There are multiple stalls in the bathroom.

I ordered the combo beef Kubide and chicken $24.99 plus a side of grilled veggies $5.00+ a soda $+ The kubide was short and thinner. The chicken were small and few pieces. The veggies were barely grilled for few under grilled veggies costs me $5+ The price went up but the portion became smaller. That is when I stop going back to places like this. The plate I received and paid for is no where near the pictures posted on Yelp by others portion-wise and not what it was like before. I'm so disappointed and dissatisfied. Total cost of food for one person $45 tip included. I don't mind spending $ if I know I will be satisfied. I don't think I will ever come back and I do not recommend.

Aria is a great restaurant. They have delicious kabobs, and fresh salad. Their rice is steamed and fluffy, with a wonderful flavor. We have a company close by and we order Aria's kabobs for all of our company gatherings and our employees look forward to having their food. The owners are gracious and very helpful in bringing the food over to our office. I highly recommend eating at Aria restaurant. read more

I am a "white washed" FULL blooded Iranian girl who LOVES me some Persian comfort food! Up until now, my options for Kabob were when Mom felt up to feeding it to me, or hitting a couple of "meh" take out Kabob places in Oceanside that got the job done but that's about it. My Mom introduced me to this little gem and we both decided to give it a try together for lunch. Let me tell you... I was BLOWN away. First off, the place is very classy and clean! Nice table settings when you enter and elegant music. Many authentic Persian meals to choose from and excellent deals and lunch specials as well. The service was exquisite, warm, and friendly. The food was stellar, served HOT sizzling just the way I like it. The portions were extremely generous! This will be be GO TO place when that craving kicks in for some childhood comfort! read more

Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! My first and last time I will eat this food. I grew up in Iran and I know what is Persian food. What I got, tasted so weird I was about to puke. I don't know why there are so many good reviews. Maybe because these people don't know what is the real Persian food. The Gheimehs were absolutely awful. Even the deserts. Spices were weird. Tasted nothing like Persian food. I still have the taste of that Gheimeh in my mouth and trying to forget it. If you grew up in Iran, stay away from this place and save your money. There are other places with authentic Persian foods. read more

I get the Greek Salad with Gyro meat. So much salad and gyro that 2 can share but it's so good that you wouldn't allow it. It's my go ti when I want to eat light but feel full and satisfied. read more

What a pleasant surprise. This place is just a few minutes away from work, and my wife picked me up to have lunch together. A cute sit-down Persian restaurant in a somewhat industrial part of town. Service was fast and friendly, the salad was crispy fresh, and the lamb koobideh kabob was well made and very tasty. The only downside is the $2 charge for some tzatziki on the side. read more

Enjoyed food here before COVID pandemic (may have been unde a different name). For dinner we wanted something easy and healthy, though we would try again since it was sooo good before. Order $100 takeout, 4 Combo plate orders. Went to eat dinner, NO TZATZIKI OR HUMMUS OR PITA, super disappointed family dinner. I called them and asked if they forgot, they told me you have to request it and it doesn't come with the combo. So.... If ordering take-out make sure you request it. Also ordered Greek salad with gyro and it came with 2 small "quarter" sized cups of dressing.... When I spoke to 2 different people they said "we understand, next time ask for tzatziki". Sorry there will be no next time. read more

Definitely the best Persian food I ever had in a restaurant, the quality is like home made food, not too salty like restaurant food . I will come back here again and again. It is sooo authentic and yummy. The portions were large, took the rest home for another meal. Everything was extremely fresh and clean! You could tell they just made it fresh for us! The meats were perfectly cooked and tender. The rice to die for! Highly recommend it. read more

We finally got the chance to visit Aria and I'm glad we did. The place is off corner and sits right off the freeway but it's a great stop for food and service. The staff was super friendly and fast to ensure we were comfortable. The place was super quiet and clean. The food, we ordered the hummus appetizer along with skewers with rice and salad. This is like the Panda Express of Persian food. The kabob is dry and the Gormeh Sabzi is flavorless. Also the prices are way too high for the quality of food you're getting. Panini Kabob Grill has much better Persian food for around the same or even less money. read more

The owner and the young lady working with him were lovely! You can tell that he really does love his restaurant. This is a hard review to post. I was so sad!! This was terrible! The wine had a slight vinegar taste. The lamb was boiled without salt and a Campbell's soup sort of "gravy" on the bottom of the dish and about 3 cups of dilled rice (the rice was so yummy!)The lamb was very tender though. I had the Veggie plate... uncooked skewered green bell, zucchini, onion (this was the only thing that was ok), and a chunk of red bell. It came with watery hummus and very hard falafel discs.... And probably 2 1/2 cups of rice. This meal also came with a salad.... Terrible Italian dressing from a jug. I left hungry and sad for the owner. read more

This place is in an odd location (not a lot of other restaurants around, right off the freeway in a stand alone parking lot) and when you go in, it doesn't seem like it will be much. But WOW. If you appreciate great middle eastern food, this is the spot. The food is high quality, whether it's appetizers, main dishes or desserts. It's all made from scratch. It's also great if you order for delivery. I think it's the very best in North County. The service is excellent; their staff is warm and genuinely wants to serve their patrons. The young pair behind the counter didn't seem to know what they were serving, as they kept looking at one another for guidance with little ability to give me much relevant info on anything other than what types or protein they had. Once I finally ordered, they started to taking and filling the orders of people behind me. It wasn't until a much older woman came in from the back before my own dinner started being prepared. Seriously, it was a pretty weird setup. The food was served Subway style, where they go down the line asking what you wanted added to your wrap. Shawarma meat is minced, staying warm in a tub, and scooped to order by a spoon resting in a bin of cloudy water. Not only did it feel a bit gross, but it also seemed that the bulk of the juice in the meat came from that watery spoon, as the shawarma I ate was very dry. When it came to my son's Shawarma Plate, the menu stated that it came with two sides. What they don't tell you is that the only choices on the 'sides' menu open to you are Hummus and a Salad. The much more desired sides of Falafel, Baba Ghanoush, or even kid friendly Fries, were not offered. Needless to say, my son ate his chicken and rice, but wouldn't touch his hummus. So, a Shawarma Plate and a Shawarma wrap ... dinner for two, not a ton of food, neither of us were all that impressed ... and it cost us over $40. Needless to say, with how everything tasted and what it took to get ... we won't be coming back. For the price it cost us, I think we'll stick with the far superior Aria up the street. Or, at the very least, try the Kebab Shop down the block.

(Slow and not really scoping out what should be taken care of ie/ customers without drinks and or place settings for appetizers.) It is Important to mention, that we were not the only group seeing and feeling this way. Needless to say, a very HONEST & CLEAR 3.5 stars. 5 Stars - Amazing Persian Food! I went to Aria with my boyfriend, who is Persian, and he was so excited to introduce me to real Persian food. Let me just say--WOW. I had the ghormeh sabzi, and it was so freaking good! The flavors were rich, the herbs were fresh, and the meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender. That outbreak resulted in a lawsuit coming from the parents of one of the children who was gravely ill and hospitalized. All people hospitalized had eaten the Beef Kofka (ground beef). The Kabob Shop's supplier, Olympia Foods was blamed. Now do we currently have a June outbreak, only the meat affected is Shaved Lamb-Beef???? Original review: I'm not sure what was going on in this restaurant the night of Friday, June 26, but I had to report a health issue caused by the food shown in my pic from that night. The disgusting smell from this order was so bad, I had to take it out of the kitchen. It literally smelled like dog poop. The dish in question is the Lamb/Beef Plate, which had a pile of meat, accompanied by enough yellow rice to feed many, and a teensey piece of dry pita bread. There also was a missing salad. All I can say is beware because the reviews here are 95% positive, and our past experiences with The Kebab Shops have been good. It could have been just a one-off that night, but it doesn't seem so. Judging by the extensive questioning that DoorDash did when handling my complaint, I just know something more was going on that night to have made me so sick. When you are transferred to DoorDash's Food Safety Department, they're taking your complaint seriously. And investigating it.

My one suggestion would be to ease up a little on the sauce portions. I'd love to have both hummus and sauce with the platter instead of just one giant bowl of one or the other. The rice and salad were tasty, the pita was fresh, and we'll definitely be back.

I've come here for years and realized I never left them a review. Red, who runs the restaurant is always personable and courteous. I love the chicken shawarma plate and everything I've tried has always been moist and full of flavor. Be sure to ask for the orange sauce...you won't regret it! I'll be back soon Red and team.
