Their meats were cooked decently, I did ask for medium rare cook on the beef but it came more like medium. Probably should have just asked for it be cooked rare. That wasn't the main issue though, unfortunately there were live bugs in the salads and that unfortunately kind of ruined the meal for me. Besides the bugs issue on the salad, their cooked items were fine. If there weren't live bugs in my salad, I'm sure experience would have been little bit better. I'm not sure if I would want to return here because of the live bugs in the salad. My husband and I just found Aria by driving by and were pretty impressed at it's 5 star reviews. So impressed, I gave it 5 stars myself. It's super clean inside (bathrooms included) and the tables are set up so pretty. I love the warm atmosphere and the bountiful light from all the windows. It's such a comfortable place to sit, converse and eat yummy recipes. We started off with the hummus and warm bread. This is the best hummus I've had. It's so tasty, not bland at all. The spices/flavorings are tongue pleasers for sure! I had to stop myself from eating the whole plate so I could eat my entre! I ordered the Gyro sandwich - this was amazing! There's SO much meat and tzatziki sauce. I couldn't finish it. Great price too! My hubby ordered the Chicken Kabob plate. Was recommended coming to Aria. I've lived in Persian community for 12 yrs. We came here for lunch. Was not impressed with this Persian restaurant. The salads we ordered were a joke. Two olives and two cucumbers on each plate, with goat cheese doesn't make salad. We also order 2 combos plates with chicken and beef was only thing that was decent, that gets a star rating. Aria service was mediocre for 1 star, my biggest upset I asked the gentleman for flat bread, herbs and onion's on the side for our meals. He told us no we don't serve that anymore. Which is unusual because every Persian restaurant offers it. So we ordered hummus because they serve bread with it. As we're about leave our table the people behind us that were Persian, they had onion nd bread on the side for their meal. Seeing that put fuel in the fire, being lied to and feeling discriminated. During the time of Covid-19, it's difficult to describe eating at a new restaurant. You can't really sit down, you can't get a good idea of the service, and you're not sure if the food you eat at home would have been just a little bit better if eaten a few minutes fresher at your table. And yet, when you're tired of burgers and chicken, when you're itching for rice and a wrap other a burrito, when you realize that haven't had a good gyro in over a year ... well, you start looking for your San Marcos options on Yelp. Usually, we used to take the family over to Luna Grill, which is kind of a slightly more upscale fast food spot for Mediterranean. Aria is further down that end, a sit-down dining experience that is just out of reach for the time being, doomed to be enjoyed as take-out for the foreseeable future. But, enjoy we do! I'm a solid fan of this place. The food is tasty, the portions are generous, and there's something for everyone in my family to like. So far, I've had the Ground Beef Koobideh, which is nicely spiced and well formed before cooking, giving good sized and tasty rounds of satisfying beef. I've had the Chicken Kebab, which is a bit plain and bland, but still a good amount of protein and all around meal. My wife and son have each had the Gyro Plates, which comes with very thick strips of meat and plenty of pita on the side. And I've had the Falafel Starter, which was extremely delicious, but a bit disappointing as the portions were extremely small (especially when compared with everything else on the menu) for the cost. And it all comes with enough Basmati Rice to cover at least three meals worth of grains. Seriously, as someone who is currently watching their weight and portions they're consuming, Aria has been an impressive ally. Light, salty, and very filling, any entree comes with a mountain of this delicious fluff. Yes, it's just filler, but it's damn tasty filler. Anyway, Aria is definitely going into our take out rotation. Pretty good food, a nice amount of quantity for the cost, and not too bad on the waistline as long as you don't finish off your whole dinner in go. read more

The rice seems not seasoned and dry. The best thing I have ever tried was the eggplant dip!! Amazing! The Feta definitely wasn't the feta I know so it was big dry and tangy. Aria had been my go to place but the quality of their food is taking a turn. Today was the last time I bought food here. I've included photos of the spoiled salads I was provided with my meal. This is unacceptable. When I called to inform the restaurant of this issue they gave me a nonchalant apology and offered to replace the salads (I was long gone by then, I had called in my order for pick up). The man on the phone with me was trying to get off the phone with me as quick as possible and hung up before I was done talking. I had the chicken kabob with basmati rice and salad. The chicken was delicious, tender, flavorful and perfectly cooked too. We had it with tzatziki, and a spicy red sauce for added flavors and heat.
