This is such a cute little place to grab breakfast and coffee-- they have bottomless mimosas and the staff is so friendly. They were busy but the servers were hustling, which I 100% appreciate. They kept thanking us for waiting and were very accommodating when we asked for a sunny table out on the patio. I would definitely eat here again!! read more

I was passing time before a shop opened and went in. The were so accommodating and let me come in early and served me before they were even open! The decor is so cute and clever I don't know the style but it all comes together wonderful for a great feel. I ordered biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was from fast food joint. Tasted like Popeyes and like it was microwaved. I enjoyed the food here but screw you guys like really Screw you. my fiancé and her friend were there just having a good brunch having a few mimosas and they announced the engagement and the staff began giving happy engagement drinks to my woman. the gesture is nice but as someone in the Culinary industry I know they are supposed to be aware of situations and not over serving. she was completely plastered when I got home and more than when ive been with her at or picked her up from the bar. this is not acceptable business. read more

Was excited to try this spot since Sweet Dixie went out but was wildly underwhelmed. French press for two came out not hot. Table next to us sent their food back. Waited 40 minutes for our food to come out luke warm. Asked for the gravy we had previously ordered and it came out stone cold. We were one of 5 tables, so we ended up leaving and going to Berlin instead. Won't be back to this spot. read more

However, unfortunately I was denied service even though the sign said open and there was a couple eating outside and people taking picture of food inside. I was recommended this spot because it was suppose to be good and affordable but it wasn't. I thought I was paying 4.50 for an ORANGE JUICE come to find out that the original price that was not stated on the menu. I ended up paying 5.50 for an orange juice. Furthermore, I also ordered a coffee that cost 4.50 and was stated on menu and turned out to be 2.75. The prices on the menu are false advertisement and doesn't allow you calculated the true balance you'll be paying. Lastly, the plates have an abundance of eggs and little to no sides. This was my first time here since the ownership changed from Sweet Dixie Kitchen. The positives: the take credit card now and the service was mostly good. They were mostly attentive and obviously interested in meeting our needs. The negatives: the quality of food is much worse. It seems like they are trying to blend the southern food from SDK with an Asian flavor. I ordered biscuits and gravy which came out mostly cold or lukewarm. My friend ordered a curry egg dish which was not very good either. Overall, seems like our quiet little neighborhood breakfast place has taken a step back with the new owners. read more

I live on the same block as this restaurant. Me and my girlfriend were waiting to eat here for their advertised 50% off night. (I hope they do it occasionally just to reward their loyal customers). The food was excellent! Customer service couldn't have been better, everyone seemed like their biggest priority was pleasing us. I'm usually a water person, I rarely ever order anything but water. This time I decided to switch it up and grab a lemonade, as did my girlfriend. WOW. if you come here, you have to order one of the lemonades. They are unlike anything you've ever drank. I highly recommend this new restaurant in Long Beach. Walking past it several times when they were closed (evenings), I finally found them open and of course decided to give them a try. From the first moment I was greeted with a smile. The decor was cozy, creative warm and inviting, sunny in front and warm lighting in back with comfy sofa seating, pillows or padded chairs, outside cafe' style seating if you want, and the Jazz music was a nice background but not overwhelming. As for the food........EXCELLENT. I sat inside and looked over the menu and it was hard to decide what to order, lots of choices. I will be back soon to try several more items, they all sounded really yummy. I tried 3 things and all were top drawer in freshness, taste and presentation. The mushroom soup was divine, and a very generous portion, served in a warm hand thrown pottery bowl. Water was served in a full carafe with ice and 4 kinds of fruit floating in, nice touch. The chicken Asian salad was delicious (loved the dressing) and the taco trio was spectacular with each one a different flavor (curry chicken, pulled pork and beef brisket) and a nice size also, and tasty sauces on each one. The Chutney is home made and delicious, not too spicy, just right. The menu has a really nice variety for Vegans, Vegetarians and Meat eaters. These folks know how to prepare food, make it taste great and present it with flair. And the price point was very good, you can eat a great soup and salad for only $9 and there are small plates and larger meals. The breakfast menu loiks SO good I will be back this weekend with friends as I want to try the waffle sandwich and an omelette. I sat and took a long time to eat, reading a book, and felt like I was welcome to stay as long as I wanted. Felt like a real neighborhood place. Service was excellent too. And they have cocktails, wine and beer and nice tea and coffee menu too. I am really happy to have a new place to walk to that is priced well, has a great varied selection and is a lovely place to just be. But go for the food! It is great. I will be going back many times.
