If I could give Ark Moving Co more than 5 stars for this review I would! They. Were. AMAZING!! I researched 50+ movers & called approx. 10 others & finally settled on Ark Moving Co after speaking with Jason. (His phone voice doesn't truly showcase how wonderful & warm he is in person). We had a slight miscommunication at the beginning after what I thought was a reservation & securing the needed date, but when I called back we totally worked it out with everything that I wanted & needed & at the rates we discussed. For those that don't know - overall pricing is pretty standard. Each company sets their per hour rate (some are definitely a lot more than others). They all have a cash price (Zelle/Venmo/cash) & a credit card price, and they typically differ at $10 more per hr if you pay by credit card vs cash. Ark Moving had one of the best prices, if not the best, out of all the moving companies I researched. ALL movers charge a stairs fee if you have a lot of stairs. Ark Movers had the best price out of them all. (And side note - don't lie about the number of stairs you have, even if you think it's not a lot, because you will have to pay it at the end & that's on you. Don't be pissed because you weren't honest). They also ALL charge a heavy item fee. So again, be up front, discuss all items you need moved. (ex - Peloton treadmill - heavy item - expect to pay this added fee). ALL movers charge for the CPUC fee. It's a CA law & it's a mandatory fee, so don't be shocked or upset when you start calling around & they tell you about it. They aren't ripping you off, again, it's CA law. It's where you pay double time for their drive time. So if you move from Riverside for example to Westminster - that's one hour of drive time from pick up to drop off. The moving company will then charge you 2 hours total for drive time. (You typically don't pay for them to get to the pick up location, or to get home from the drop off location). We moved from a 3 bed/4ba home to a 3 bed/2ba home. We downsized prior to the move. A lot. We felt we didn't have as much "stuff" as most people. But once moving day hit - it was incredible to see how much stuff there was. And that's after making a few car runs on our own prior to our actual moving day. We thought for SURE they'd end up having to make 2 trips. Something no one wants when moving for obvious reasons - time, lots of extra money, extra drive time fees, etc. But WOW....WOW. Jason, Roman & Tim were AMAZING!! They fit 1.5 truckloads into ONE truck!! They were masters at Tetris getting everything to fit! AND they were very respectful & careful of our items. (We rented crates to help facilitate the move, & we feel that helped a lot). They carefully wrapped our items that needed it with blankets, bubble wrap, etc. They also unwrapped those same items on the back end & took care of the trash that went along with it. We were ready to go on moving day with everything packed - but if that was a part of the equation that was needed, they would have helped with that as well. Once at the new location the crew was amazing getting everything up and down the stairs - and there were a LOT!! On BOTH ends. Three stories coming and going. They EARNED that stairs fee & then some! We made sure to keep them hydrated with drinks & fed them lunch & dinner as they were working NON-STOP to take care of our moving needs. They didn't even want to take breaks so they could try & finish faster, but we insisted they stop & eat. These men worked their tails off!! And they were SO NICE. All 3 of them were a pleasure to be around ALL DAY! I have no idea how they can do this job on a regular basis & keep up that pace & great attitude. Jason was MORE than fair with their pricing, and we happily gave them a bonus & cash tip for EVERYTHING. But most of all - we wanted to be sure and give them the BEST REVIEW POSSIBLE - so that everyone knows what a great experience we had, what professionals they were, how much we appreciated their hard work & efforts after what was a nightmare of a real estate experience & we want them to succeed and prosper. Jason and Tim were excellent during our move. They were friendly and worked hard to get our furniture moved safely to our new home. Of special note is their moving of our couch. It was heavy and impossible to get through the stairwell. They ended using a manual pulley system to get it down from the 4th floor!
