I came here to try their famous vegan bacon and cheese burger and I left super satisfied. I think what really hit the spot was asking a side of chipotle mayo because that just takes the burger to another level. I'm not vegan but I enjoy vegan food. I took my friends who are vegetarian here and they loved it! The burger really resembles a regular bacon cheese burger but only better. The patty was soft and tender with a nice crisp on the edges. It also had some spiciness to it due to pickled jalapenos inside (or outside) the party. So you'll get a little kick. But this is coming from a person who can't really do hot Cheeto spicy though. The portion is big and filling just with one patty but I mean, feel free to enjoy the delicious-ness in double right?! Tator tots was nice and crisp, so it's super delicious! And extra points for the owner/worker for giving all three of us a generous side of chipotle mayo! Thank you! We were actually able to sit inside spider house which was nice since it was a cold night out. I will definitely come back and take my vegetarian/vegan friends here! First of all, the burger was not crispy or warm. When I had it the first time, the patty and bacon were so crispy and warm on a cold day out. Tonight was not even that cold and when I bite into the patty, it was like he just pulled it out from the fridge or like heated it up in the microwave for 10 secs. The BBQ burger was delicious! The patty was moist and had the texture of a real meat patty. The sweet potato fries had the perfect crunchy texture and were a good compliment to the burger. There's only one burger that I've enjoyed better than Arlo's since going vegan, and it's not worth bringing to the table since they're two different types of burgers. Arlo's being your fast-food comfort burger, coming from a fun food truck. Bac'n Cheese Burger with a side of extra crispy t-tots for 10 bucks, but you get a guilt-free meal out of it and then some. Some friends of ours have been raving about Arlo's for a while now. Living north of Lake Travis, we rarely get to central Austin, unless we are meeting our daughter in San Marcos. We decided to try Arlo's today and were very impressed! My wife and I have been on plant-based diets since October 2018 and have been surprised with the number of restaurants serving plant-based meals in Austin, Cedar Park and Leander. Our latest discovery: Arlo's! (Absolutely worth the drive!) The bacon cheeseburger with mac and cheese on the side is fantastic! I have never had "grilled" mac and cheese - what a great idea. The grilled burger patty, bacon and cheese each had great flavor. My wife had the tacos, which looked right out of a foodie magazine and, I assume, were as good as my burger (she finished them without offering me a bite). None of our three kids are vegan and usually have mixed feelings joining us for meals. Our youngest daughter (15) loved the mac and cheese, although we did not tell her is was plant-based until she was several bites in. She could not believe it was plant-based! Our two older kids (16 and 19) also liked their burger orders. Arlo's will certainly be added to our list of places to go. I definitely want to try the Frito Pie and add-on the jalapenos (with an order of tacos) next time we visit. How about moving up to Cedar Park or Leander for your next location? If I could give this place is zero Stars I would. The whole place is a joke. The food is god awful, the only thing edible is the tater tots. Delicious! Just moving here from Chicago the Vegan scene is insane and huge! One of my first nights here I wanted a Vegan burger so my mother and I went to Arlo's. First, I love the location. I don't really party but it's right next to Spider House and that place looks really cool. There's also two more Vegan food trucks right by Arlo's. One is Tacos and one is Ice Cream. I love the neighborhood. We both got Bacon Cheeseburgers. I got Tots and my mom got Sweet Potato Fries. The price was super reasonable and I had another meal. The sides are REALLY huge. I actually suggest sharing a side. And I really loved my mom's Sweet Potato Fries over my Tots. I will definitely be coming back to Arlo's :) read more

I went to the ballroom last night to watch my friends play and the owner happened to notice my wife and I were vegan and recommended we try a burger before we leave. He spoke about his food so passionately, telling us how healthy the burger was. How they make it from scratch and all the goodness that goes into it. How they won best vegan burger in America twice. Arlo's is the envy of every vegan, vegetarian, and meat eater alike. It's truly unlike any veggie burger you've ever had and meat eaters can't even tell it's not meat. I've never met someone who doesn't like an Arlo's burger, and it draws us like a moth to flame. Their cheesy, melty, crispy "Bac'n Cheeze Burger" is perfect exactly as is, every time. The sweet potato fries were absolutely perfect, too, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. A whole basket is only a $2 add on to the burger. Located next to the Spider House ballroom. I visited in the middle of the day and the sitting area could've smelled better, so I would recommend getting your order to go. If there's a substantial line at all, keep in mind that Arlo's is slow. For anyone who has tasted an Arlo's burger, though, you know it is worth the wait. read more

I don't necessarily blame the staff as I heard it's a tough company to work for, so I'll assume the incredible rudeness my last two experiences were overwhelmed by are a result of low morale. This place is absolutely brilliant! The staff was super friendly and the menu was nice and simple to order from. If you get a chance, get the bacon cheeseburger. I ordered a double and it was a huge meal. The jalapenos are fresh, not pickled (a good thing) and the "bacon" was so realistic, that I thought it squealed when I took a bite. We tried Arlo's for the first time on Saturday when we were at Spider House. We got the frito pie burger, the chik'n street tacos, fries, and the mac-n-cheeze. The burger was great--packed with flavor and toppings, you wouldn't even know it was vegan. Our only complaint is that it was extremely difficult to eat and crumbled apart pretty easily. The tacos were also good, albeit nothing super special. Fries left a lot to be desired since they didn't have much crisp or salt to them and were a bit sad overall. The mac-n-cheeze bears no resemblance to its name and was more just a pasta with a vegan Indian sauce kind of thing. It was fine, but when you think you're getting a version of mac-n-cheeze and you don't, it's a bit disappointing. Even though we're giving this place three stars, we did like it, and would absolutely come again. Prices are good and we enjoyed most of what we ate. read more

Honestly I hesitated to write this review only because it might be a bit redundant. Everyone knows this place is good, right? I've been to 3 locations: this one at Spiderhouse, the one at Cheer Up Charlie's, and the newly opened one at Hole In the Wall and what I have to say applies to all of them. Arlo's is really mcfreakin' good. I always recommend this place to visitors, whether vegan or not. Their BBQ burger is one of, if not the best vegan BBQ sandwiches I've had. I say this having traveled and sampled many a vegan burger. With that said though, I admit the Chipotle Chik'n burger was not my favorite (it was a bit dry) but who really cares when the BBQ Burger is right there?? Definitely order that. With tots. The tater tots run a little salty, but there is much beer to be had nearby and the two pair nicely. Overall, Arlo's is a gem and I HIGHLY recommend it to vegans who have tired of veggies as well as anyone who craves a burger without the murder. Or like, anyone with an appetite really. Hands down best vegan eatery I have come across till now. The menu names could a bit misleading , but rest assured the server/ cook is the only non-plant being on the truck ! So this place was tucked away in the corner but you could smell the greatness from the car. I had seen the reviews on yelp beforehand so I was dying to give it a try. I got the famous bacon double cheeseburger and my omnivore boyfriend got the street tacos. The burger was amazing. From the fake bacon to the texture of the meat. I revisited them to try their burger for the 6th time to make sure of my disappointing finding and sure enough it has come true. They changed their patty. It's so spicy now that I can't enjoy it anymore. I asked the guy who was working the truck and he said nothing has changed. That was last year. Then I returned and asked the girl who was working on another day. I told her that I couldn't finish my burger due to the level of spice once again. All of their answers were the same which were either they don't know or that nothing has changed. They took my info down and told me they would ask the owner and get back to me but nothing since. I used to bring friends and family here from out of town but now I just take them somewhere else. The most recent and possibly final visit here was during SXSW 2017 and sure enough we all agreed that the burger has changed and as always it was not acknowledged. The service is always SUPER SLOW but it was all forgiven and forgotten once our delicious burgers came out but since that has changed, there is simply no reason to come back here anymore.
