I've been ordering from Arlo's for years and I have never been disappointed. Their Frito pie and sweet potato fries are amazing! I love that I get to enjoy the flavors of some of my favorite food without feeling heavy after; I'm not vegan but I do love that about this place. Anyone I've ever introduced to Arlo's loved it and was amazed that none of it had real meat in it. I'm at the point where I get excited seeing the Arlo's truck open when I'm downtown; I definitely have recommended this to most of everyone I know. read more

I can't eat beef or pork due to a medical condition (...and yes, that sucks.) Most of the time, I'm ok with that, but every once in a while, I just want a really good sloppy burger. Arlo's has the most flavorful, decadently greasy ones I've found. I've taken several vegan and non-vegan friends here, and most of them said they wouldn't have noticed that it wasn't an actual beef burger if they hadn't known. The ones who could tell said that they didn't care because it was straight up delicious. I usually go for the bacon cheeseburger and sometimes their crispy tots as well--the tacos are alright, but the burgers are fabulous. (If you're concerned about covid safety, their online ordering process is really easy, and all the staff seemed to be taking care to follow precautions as well.) Chill vibe. Outdoor seating next to spider house. My husband and I have started frequenting this place. He's not a vegetarian or vegan but he said it's one of the best burgers he's had! We walk across the street to the convenient store to get drinks and then walk back across before they call our names for our food. They give you a lot, their fries and tots are top notch. My favorite is the bac n cheese burger WITH Mac & cheese added. Do yourself a favor and get it, you definitely won't regret spending the extra $2. If you have vegan friends in town. You should take them. Theres something exciting about seeing there face when they can order a vegan bacon cheese burger. There are at least 3 locations. That being said, it doesn't stand on its own. Ive tasted the cheese burger. Personally, i think the impossible burger is better. Ive also had the mac n cheese. Also good, but its very oily. Eating the whole thing felt like eating too many wendy's French fries. Its also a little expensive and the wait times are long. Ive seen people wait an hour at the location by cheer up Charlie's. I'm a sucker for good tater tots and this place makes me want to shout their tot praises to the heavens. I'm a transplanted Midwesterner who resides in LA, and LA does not understand or attempt to understand the power of a well-made, still kind of rice-textured, thick-skinned, crunchy, salty tot. But Arlo's does! I'm not a vegan but not a frequent beef-eater either, so when I crave burgers I often get the plant-based ones. But I only get the plant-based ones that are hand-crafted - I'm not trying to pay marked-up restaurant prices for Beyond and Impossible burgers. Arlo's are handcrafted, but in my opinion they're a little too much like soggy falafel in texture. Where they shine is the toppings. My bac'n cheezburger and BBQ burger (shared between two people - not being a total glutton here) were both satisfying 'til the last bite because of the great ingredient balance, and in the case of the BBQ burger, the delicious sauce combo. You get two dipping sauces with the order but are able to get two additional ones for an added charge. My review will not be able to do this food justice. Let me start by stating, I am not a vegan. Arlo's is a vegan food truck and I just can't get enough. Every time I go to Austin I have to make a stop at Arlo's. I have eaten the vegan tacos and the vegan bacon cheeseburger​. The food here is delicious. Pro tip: Get the Arlo's sauce. Not typically impressed by Austin's food scene (as it it mostly hype mixed with long waits). But WOW what a surprise here. Really really flavorful and filling. My partner and I ordered the BBQ burger, bacon cheeseburger, tots, and mac. All of it was delicious and didn't have to wait too long for it; I can imagine it getting busier, though and having to wait. Reasonably priced at about $20. We couldn't even finish it all in one sitting. Off-street parking was nice. Location was easy. Dudes were friendly. Some of the best vegetarian I've had recently. Not too far of a walk from campus, and since it's a bit hidden, it's never crowded. Takes around 10 minutes for the burgers to come out after order if there's no wait. I always order their Bacn Cheezeburger. These burgers are amazing, and you get such a large burger, you'll definitely be full every time. The bread is gluten-free, and a bit on the dry side, but still tastes great. You can hardly tell that the meat is all plant based; it's incredibly juicy, and seasoned perfectly. All sandwiches are plant/soy based. Upgrade your sandwhich to include fries, tots or sweet potato fries. They do not skimp on those sides! You get your full $2 worth and then some!! There's a couple picnic tables to sit and eat, or you can get your food to go. Better yet, call in your order and have take away ready to go when you get there! Arlos is the best veggie burger in town! Arlo's serves plant-based comfort food from a food trailer. I visited the one on the grounds of the Spider House after dancing the day away. I love the fresh bread and ingredients. You won't miss meat at all. The patty is soy and gluten free and just the right consistency. You can also order some tater tots and veggie "chicken" tacos. Not 5 stars because I didn't think the service was that friendly. I had the "bacon" and "cheese" burger. Update: I tried to get this place again and experienced bad customer service yet again. The people here just aren't friendly. Many others have already raved about the Arlo's cheeseburger, so let me share a short story with you instead... The first time I took my meat-eating husband to Arlo's, I casually mentioned "BTW, they don't have meat" as we walked up to the food truck. I strategically withheld this critical piece of information until this moment, as I was planning on him feeling too committed by then to refuse eating here. Husband was understandably feeling deceived and also very skeptical, but I assured him that the burgers are very good and encouraged him to give it a try. Since that first visit, my husband asks to go to Arlo's every few weeks because he's CRAVED the Bac'n Cheezeburger. A few tips based on my experiences: The truck is frequently understaffed. Orders will take a long time, so order online in advance if you don't want to wait. And even then, expect it to be ready later than estimated. Since you'll be waiting a while, you can pop into the Spider House Ballroom to grab a drink from the bar. Drinks can be taken outside to the picnic tables. The side of tots is huge and could easily be shared between two people. read more
