Food is average. Salad bar isn't fresh. There are good alternative options in Astoria

AROMA BRAZIL it's been my favorite restaurant in Jackson Heights . If you eat healthy or not , you will always have options , and the BBQ in the window next at the end of the buffet is Amazing . Lots of meats . I recommend this place , super clean and the staff is super friendly .

How far they have come from the first time I came here. The variety is much better and the flavor of the food is a lot bette than last I been there. the staff is friendly and they make sure you get all you need for your meal. there is no parking lot here so it is a street parking kind of deal. it is located at a busy street so parking can get to be challenging around here. the food here is a buffet by weight so you pick your choices and weight to pay what is on your plate. the have a great variety of Brazilian sodas and deserts as well. I will be coming back here more often since the place is perfect when I am hungry so do not have to wait for short order cooking and I can just go ahead and serve myself and start eating right away. the only down thing here is that I find the prices a little too expensive but overall it is a good deal for a nice BBQ Brazilian restaurant.

In Jackson Heights, where the world meets Queens, there are numerous ethnic options spanning from Tibetan to Colombian to Korean to Indian. Aroma Brazil is by all accounts, the only Brazilian establishment in the hood, and easily one of the finest in the borough for featuring simple, delicious food. While they've only been around for under 2 years, they've managed to strike a chord within the community and become one of my favorite go-tos in the area. Buffets of the Brazilian kind are certainly nothing new, not even the pay-by-the-pound ones that seem to only exist in Astoria, LIC, and western Queens. The latter has managed to get by in offering a tasty array of meats, whereas Aroma Brazil has presented options for the health conscious through their abundant variety and quality offerings. On the outside, the place is reminiscent of a small cafe. Inside, it feels even smaller with the semi-cramped seating, along with the people traffic of folks going in and out. Stick around and seating will eventually present itself. First timers ought to know that the buffet is all the way in the back, which admittedly feels a bit awkward from a layout perspective. My favorite seat is near the big window, where one can enjoy the food while people watching along the busy Roosevelt Avenue. Everything seems to be made with love. Their feijoada is delicious and tastes even better when combined with any of their multiple varieties of rice/quinoa. Starch lovers will find solace in their variety of potatoes, pasta, or cold salads, and veggie heads will appreciate the varieties of kale, tofu, corn salads, and raw fruits/vegetables. Where they really excel is their stewed meats, particularly the beef brisket, chicken, and or tilapia, all of which I can't seem to get enough of. Typically there is a drop off in quality at most buffets, but being this one is smaller, the portions are manageable and little goes to waste. At only $5.49 a pound, their breakfast (7:30-10:30am) is a solid deal. For all other times, it's $9.95, with an additional $1.00 per pound for anything with salmon on it. The salmon is tasty, but then again, so is everything else. Grab a plate and enjoy a meal like you're sitting in someone's home when eating in, or grab a container for to-go and pack it up for a reasonably priced and even tastier lunch. I hope Aroma Brazil sticks around for a long time. In a hood where diversity is preached along with variety, Jackson Heights only feels more well rounded with places like Aroma Brazil in it.

I received this threat from restaurant.

I am disappointed to post this review, but I believe it is worthy of documenting my experience here. I visited with my family, and observed a small neighborhood self serve eats offering food by the pound. My family took turns going to the stations, and was rudely advised to refrain from video recording the premises. The cashier was worried about restaurant copy -cats from video which I politely explained trying to get a good angle via panorama to post on yelp. 3 servers approached me at once and I found the overall encounter upsetting and disturbing. 2 others strictly spoke in a different language to me. Cringe worthy. Discriminating. Disturbing. There are certain approaches to express concerns and these guys were rude and displayed gang mentality by way of bullying. The food stations were typical buffet islands of random ethnic foods and nothing spectacular or worthy of replicating. You toss out plastic plates upon finishing and you discard the trash in an outdoor garbage can on your way out the door. I will not be sharing the photos I took and 2 of my family members refused to even plate food deciding instead to not eat. To address the food, well it's a given when you leave without finishing what you paid for and prefer to throw it in the garbage instead of packing it away. Dry flaky salmon, rubbery chunks of steak, brown rice, beans, spaghetti & meatballs were among the food my family selected. None were fresh. If you somehow mess up rice/beans/spaghetti you should not be in the business of food preparation. Salmon was bland and they did not like it. Most ended up being shown to the trash. The petty rectangular stale chocolates the cashier came by and dropped off to my kids interrupted our meal- my oldest tried it and politely spit it out in her napkin. Rest were placed on the plastic plates and thrown into the garbage. As customers we kept our area clean, did not disrupt nor cause a scene, cleaned up after ourselves, paid for the food, and remained calm until our family finished their meals. We left our table clean. Unlike some of the other tables I observed where customers just left. This is not the best Brazilian restaurant in Queens or anywhere. With terrible basic customer service skills and the dummy account to counter my honest review, I begin to question the validity of the rest of their reviews. This place is not good, the people are not good and the visit was not good. Aside from quality of food at an establishment, the ambiance, attitude and service is important. I generously received a ONE star experience here for all of the above and will not be returning. Not one thing was good. After posting this review, I received a message from the restaurant. Image attached. Shameless!! Further, the owner Sidney continue to harass, send threats and has now resorted to lying. Video surveillance will be welcomed, as that will build my case and demonstrate us being compliant customers and prove how horrendous you and your staff are. This behavior is unacceptable and quite elementary. I refrained to escalate based on consideration to their establishment but due to Sidney's continued harassment, proper notices to appropriate authorities have been notified. I will no longer engage in communication with this fast food joint. Not worth my while. Beware upon entering this establishment. You have been fairly warned. Note: The review posted by Sidney C. (The owner) has since been removed. Thank you to the Yelp team for remaining fair in careful assessment. I am very glad to be part of a supporting team.

Hands down the best Brazilian buffet. I love Brazilian food from my trips to Greenfields in Corona in the 90's. The food is incredibly flavorful, veggie and meat forward. Aroma has it all! Lots of fish, veggies were al dente and the roasted Brussels were amazing. The roast pork with skin on was unreal! Cheap, delicious and right next to 75/ Roosevelt my new Queens Franny Fave!

    Keto to the max. Haha

Hands down the best Brazilian fast food I've ever had. The price, the quality, and the variety is unmatched. Father and son who bbq the meat are so nice! They always remember us. So does the owners now since we go so much. Herbert the absolute sweetest! Always very helpful and smiling. They have something for everyone. No matter what you eat you'll find something on the buffet. Meat, veggies, fish, pasta, soups, cheese, salad, they have them all. You can eat there or take it to go. The bbq meats are done very well. My favorite are the beef ribs, top sirloin, hanger, and chicken. They ask you how you like your meat and give it to you accordingly. The food is weighed by the lb and you pay for what you buy. Nothing extra. They go above and beyond for their customer. This is a staple in our family and as long as it stays this way a staple it shall remain.

The location is perfect because it fit's into my route like a glove The menu is not fixed and you get to pick up, weigh in, and go or just sit in and eat away. You have to ask the guy in the back for some fresh meats like the different type of steaks and beef they offer. The great thing about that is that everything is fresh off the roast and rack. I had a little bit of everything just to try it out for the first time and let me tell you, I was not disappointed!!! My plantains were juicy and the linguini was tasty finishing with a slurp. If you are in the neighborhood,i recommend you try this back to basics Brazilian cuisine out. I had just came from another Brazilian theme in midtown and it was over the top and over priced for no reason.

We were greeted pleasantly and requested to sanitize before reaching the buffet bar. The worker was kind in explaining how the weighing system worked and the chef at the grill also informed us right away of the meat selection. The meats from the grill were more expensive per pound, as well as the fish, but food from the buffet is usually $8.99/lb. We got two types of steaks and a beef short rib which were nicely seared. Also notable was the rice and swiss chard, the house spicy sauce, the fried yuca, fried fish, polenta, and really fantastic and creamy potatoes. We went overboard for three people and ended up eating it for two meals. Everything was pretty worth it except maybe the flan (a bit overpriced for the portion size) and our big meal came out to $80.

This relatively new pay-by-pound spot is similar to those in Astoria offering grilled meats and an area with steam table fare and salads. The short rib was the best of the meats. The chicken with bacon was very flavorful and juicy too. One inexplicable disappointment was the top sirloin, which just seemed like low-quality meat with a gritty flavor. On the other hand, the salads were better than expected - a green one (kale?) and a bean salad. I enjoyed the bottled cashew drink.

I saw this place listed on a website for best cheap eats and I can see why. This is an inexpensive Brazilian buffet that charges by the pound. I have been to several of these types of places in Astoria. Like those ones, in addition to the regular buffet offerings, they have a churrascaria option where you can choose cuts of grilled meat that raises the price. However, I found the regular buffet to be excellent as it is. Some of the items being offered were: maduros, fried chicken, beef brisket, rice and beans, seafood rice, fried fish, stewed fish, farofa, oxtail, spaghetti, salads, and much more. I though the brisket and fried chicken meat were especially moist and juicy.

What a nice surprise from the outside looks like a diner but inside a great feast awaits you You are charged by the lb when you chose from the buffet but order your meats from the rear window now that's special all prepared right from the kitchen hot ready to be sliced that's special Oh try the deserts all made right here delicious please try them even if you are full the owner was there so friendly explained the dishes nice to be there 10 pm.

There is also a meat section where they ask you what meat cut you want, rotisserie style. I got a piece of skirt steak, yellow rice, potato salad and a piece of chicken. I honestly didn't like the taste of anything I had on my plate. I thought everything lacked flavor and had a weird after taste. Since the price is measured by weight, I regretted getting so much food since I ended up throwing away most of it.

Who can deliver the most underwhelming plantains and dubious cuts of meat... that are more like a fat delivery system, than part of a main course? It's either that, or both Copacabana and Aroma must have signed a non-compete agreement with their underwhelming offerings. I also get the impression they are trying to broaden their appeal to non-Brazilians. But in their attempt to cater to the broader Latin American palate, they've diluted the vibrancy that Brazilian cuisine is known for. It's like they took a samba dance and turned it into a slow ranchera - it just doesn't have the same energy. Sure, it's a dance, but where's the rhythm, the spirit, the flavor?

The food and cocktail were not commensurate with the prices. The Rotisserie Chicken was moist and tasty, and the portion was huge, but the green sauce was too spicy for me. The chicken stood well on its own. The filet mignon in the Lomo Salteado was not seasoned. It was so bland that not even the extra salt that I added could fix the taste, but the Yucca Fries were outstanding--especially when dipped in some green sauce. The Arroz Chaufa with Shrimp also let me down. It tasted like slightly rancid oil was used to make it. The shrimp did not taste fresh caught, either, and the chicken was pitifully dry. The Pisco Sour left a lot to be desired although the foam on top was decorated nicely! The place is large and well decorated with Peruvian masks on the wall. The waiter provided good service, and the owner was walking around the floor, managing the place, but I AM ONE AND DONE! I will not be back!
