Grilled pork banh mi + fried egg . Lemongrass orange drink was spot on as well.

Hot food, fast service. Bread had a decent crunch. Flavoring of pickled daikon and carrots was well seasoned. This is a nice and comfortable study spot.

Arome Cafe is a family-owned business located in a crowded and busy shopping plaza on San Felipe Rd and Yerba Buena Rd. The parking is challenging during morning to lunch hours. This Cafe offers Vietnamese coffee drinks, milkteas, sandwiches, salads, and pasta dishes. Order via kiosks. It's a relaxing Cafe with natural lighting and tables to sit and work or study at. It's nestled close to Evergreen Junior College so you can see spacious fields and hills of trees with lush greenery. The service was friendly and nice. Lavender Butterfly Lemonade: "A stunning floral twist on a classic - thos lemonade features floral lavender notes blended with a zesty lemon and a touch of sweetness, then finished with butteryfly pea flower for a naturally vibrant purple hue." Tuscany Italiano and Grilled Pork Banh Mi!

What a great little sandwich and tea spot! We stopped in for a quick lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The staff was chill and I liked that you can order either at the counter or through the kiosk. We tried the Tuscany Italiano and the Grilled Pork Banh Mi, and both were fire. The bread was fresh, the Italiano was loaded, and the grilled pork banh mi had really good flavor. Definitely top notch sandwiches. We noticed they have a nice selection of boba drinks and teas that we didn't get to try this time, but they looked tempting and they are on my list for the next visit. We'll be back fasho! See you next time, Arome Cafe!

IMHO Came upon Arome while cruising the neighborhood for a place to eat lunch after some Christmas craft fair shopping. We figured we'd go in, check out the menu and decide whether we stayed or went in search of something else. After perusing the kiosk touchscreen menus, we decided to give Arome a try. Menu offerings range from Sandwiches, salads, pasta, coffee, boba, tea lattes, and a few savory pastries. We ordered the Roast Beef banh mi sandwich $10, the Shimeji Mushroom sandwich $12, and the Tuna Club sandwich $13.99, and one sweet tea (I don't remember which one, but it was really sweet!) It took a while for our sandwiches to make an appearance at our table, maybe 15 minutes or longer, but they were definitely worth the wait. These sandwiches were big and stuffed with yummy goodness. You definitely got bang-for-your-buck. The interior of the restaurant is spacious, clean, bright and welcoming. The beautiful cherry tree adds a peaceful element to the surroundings. Service was friendly, polite and helpful. Will I return? You bet!

I've been very satisfied with the service and drink consistency and quality at Arome. Arome is located in a moderately busy plaza in Evergreen with sufficient parking. It has a spacious interior, which is quite rare for boba shops nowadays. I've ordered their Green Thai Milk Tea and their Duo Thai Milk Tea at times. They both had authentic flavors, and although you can't make many modifications to those drinks, the sweetness was fine. What also draws me to Arome is the affordability of their drinks and the ample seating space. I love to stop by here when I need to relax and grab a quick sweet pick me up.

Took my mom for a quick bite last weekend. We pleasantly surprised with our delicious sandwiches. It look awhile to get our order but it was worth the wait. The sandwiches were packed with meat and the bread was warm. I didn't care for places that use a kiosk but the 2 young gentlemen that were making the sandwiches were polite. We will be back!

Very spacious cafe with lots of parking. They have wifi and seatings inside. I got the $8 banh mi and it was yummy and freshly toasted. The portion was pretty good too. The service was fast and their bathroom was clean.

Boba!!! Four stars instead of five because I tasted more of the mango purée than the Matcha. Other than that, I saw their menu and they have some delicious bowls that I'm interested in trying on my next trip. One of them included salmon! Super happy that this place is walking distance so we'll be coming here again. Not much service besides the gentleman in the back making the drinks being nice and saying hi. They didn't have a problem with engaging with customers, even if this restaurant has an ordering kiosk. Love the decorations by the way! Before walking into the restaurant, I noticed that the open sign wasn't turned on, so I didn't know for sure if the restaurant was open before attempting to open the door, but yeah... Just a little nitpick here, but it might matter.

    Hair from Sandwich

Food was great, service friendly, and it was late in the afternoon so speed of service was not an issue. My only complaint is a piece of hair was found inside our sandwich. I don't think any of the food prep crew wore hats or had their hair tied back hence the possibility of this happening. This is our first visit here, and we ordered to go so couldn't bring it to their attention on the spot. I'm willing to give this place another try because their food was actually quite good, but this type of mishap could've been easily avoided if appropriate hair restraints were used.

Enter and order at one of the two touchscreen kiosks. I like this style, but it can be a little slower your first time because there are a lot of items to choose from. And because it's a kiosk, I didn't capture any menu photos. I ordered the croissant sandwich with ham and egg. It took a solid 15 minutes to prepare it, which seemed a little long since I was the only customer. Anyway, when it came out, the first thing I noticed was the sandwich was BIG. Which of course I like. I asked if it was a warm sandwich and he said yes, but it wasn't really warm. In fact, it was bold except for the fried egg. I guess that's alright. Another lesson learned for me is to ask for without the dressing. It's a little too much on the sweet side. For drink I had the classic milk tea and added boba. Pretty good, not the best I've had but good. I say that because the boba weren't all the way soft and I didn't see a location to change the sweetness level. But it's possible I missed it. The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated. They have faux cherry blossom trees and other similar plants. It's nice and bright and very clean. I'll give them another try soon.

Final Thoughts: 3.49/5 A little in between stars here. The food and experience wasn't bad...but it's just not to my preferences. Simple brunch day with my friends before some shopping. Honestly, nothing extravagant at all. Overall, so-so experience here today. Food: Brisket Phở Dip Bánh Mì: 3.4/5 Starting with the pros, I actually really enjoyed the flavors of the filling of this item. Very nice marinade and balance of umami, saltiness, and sweetness was good. This item does need the dipping sauce broth item on the side because it just adds another flavor component. The meat texture itself is alright. It felt a little dry because of how thin it is. It does tear apart upon biting, but that seems likely related to how thin its sliced. For the vegetables, they were nicely pickled and leaned more on the sweet side. Not too much acidity or saltiness from it at all. Not actually a complaint because it adds this freshness to the overall taste. For the bread, I'm not impressed. It was big, but it was too much bread for me in general. Yes, it does present as a larger portion size, but the ratio is slightllyoff for me. Flavor and smell of the bread are subpar. By far, my favorite is the bread from Bánh Mì Đức Hương and this is where my standard is. There's a lack of this nice yeasted bread smell and crunch from the bread. For something that took around 20 minutes to come out, I would expect the bread crispy and hot, but it was not. It was warm at best. Bread also seemed quite dry and somewhat stale because the inside part of the bread kind of fell apart as I carved it away from the crust. Asian Chicken Schnitzel: 3.6/5 Starting with the bread this time, I actually thought it was really good. They use a ciabatta bread and I thought that it was going to be dry, but this one seemed quite fresh. The crust has a nice crunch to it while the inside is quite soft and soaked up a lot of the flavor from the sauce. For the aroma of the bread, there was this mild wheat and tangy smell, which I liked. The chicken schnizel was something I also really enjoyed. Quite the thick piece of flattened chicken. The inside was juicy and not dry. When I made a cross-section of it, it was nicely cooked and still retained that juice. Crust was lovely. Very crunchy breading that just still remained that way even after soaking in some of the sauce. Speaking of sauce, while I did enjoy a lot of it, the sauce felt a little bit too acidic for me. There seems to be a drizzle of teriyaki sauce or a soy sauce based sauce in there too which added another flavor component. I wished the flavors were more balanced though because the red sauce (maybe marinara sauce) was so acidic and overpowering, that it overwhelmed the other flavors involved. -------- Quality: Alright Quality was alright. The bánh mì was actually just warm, which is interesting because it took around 20 minutes to come out. Perhaps it was just sitting there while the other item was being made. The bread was not crispy though, which is unfortunate. It felt more stale and hard if anything. For the meats and sauces, those were actually quite good. The meat is fully cooked through and is a very lean meat. The sauce was a nice flavor. For the veggies, they looked quite fresh in general, which is nice. Price: Expensive For the item that's provided, the price does lean more on the American sandwich pricing, which means that it is more expensive. For the two items that we got, it was around $30. At other Vietnamese bread places, the prices haven't reached $10 yet, so for these items to exceed $10, is a bit excessive for me. While the item that is provided is slightly bigger, I personally don't think it's worth it. Service: Limited; not too significant Limited interactions for today's visit. We ordered on a kiosk at the front and then they just called out our number to get our food once it was ready. My one note is that the food takes quite a long time to come out. For bread items, I would expect the wait to be more within 10 minutes, but the food came out within around 20 minutes. There were only three parties (mine included) at the café too. One party of 1, one party of 2, and my party of 3. Quite the long wait time though. Ambiance: Calm and Tranquil The interior was very calm and tranquil. There looks to be a peach blossom or cherry blossom tree built inside of the café. I can only imagine how nicely decorated that tree will be during the Lunar New Year. Very soft and tranquil area to be in though. Would definitely go here to study and work. Location/Parking: Aight This spot is located in the plaza on San Felipe Road and Yerba Buena Road. It's right on the corner too. There are a few other food places within this area. There seems to be optimal parking, but the parking spaces appear to all be for a compact car or a sedan. SUVs might have a more difficult time. I can't see an issue with finding parking though since this place doesn't look like one that gets oversaturated with people.

Mango Matcha Latte Thai Tea Matcha
    Amie N.

cute mini cafe, hardly busy, peaceful study spot. the owner insisted i try the matcha in store. had i disliked it, he would've REMADE IT ON THE SPOT. love a small business that prioritizes customer satisfaction appreciated the option of oat, almond milk (i got almond). if ur looking for a deep, slightly bitter, earthy matcha then this isn't it. i got more creamy notes. once i got 2/3 of the way done, the heavy cream started overpowering. i'd rec less sugar bc the mango bottom is pre sweetened, REAL MANGO YESS!! this was like a hybrid milkshake/latte so idk if refreshing is the right word. the thai matcha was solid. both flavors came through equally and more places need to offer this OH MY GOSH !!

I love this spot in the neighborhood. The best grilled pork banh mi for $8.50. You cannot get better value. The fluffy Pate Chaud is huge and so good. Give this place a try.

It was around 2PM, and we wanted some quick snack bites. This felt like a perfect place. Super cute cafe kind of ambiance. It has books, games etc to chill and my daughter & I had fun exploring it together. The menu didn't feel super huge, which is good because it makes me feel the items must be really good. I ended up ordering the paneer sandwich for myself and the veg panini for my 5 year old. 1) The paneer sandwich was my fav - it had a subtle hint of sweetness. The flavors really talked to me. The paneer portion was generous in my sandwich, a good protein-packed sandwich. 2) My daughter attacked the Veg panini and finished it in just a few mins. She told me it was super tasty, and didn't even let me try it. All sandwiches comes with fries - they were super yummy too, however, they were a tad bit salty and it would have been the best if they would tone down the salt a bit. Overall, I would rate the food at 5/5. My spouse joined us a little later, and I ordered the paneer sandwich one more time for him to eat. He also agreed that it was a 5 on 5. He loved the place too and told me he will definitely try the chai there next time he drops our kid to the gymnastics class. Service was surprisingly a little slow. They took 15 mins to get us the sandwiches, which in my opinion was a bit long considering it was just us in the cafe at that time. However, I had a feeling that they probably made it fresh, so it might take longer due to that. Took off 1 star for slow service. Definitely coming back again to try out more options from the menu!

RANG Final…read moreThoughts: 4.50/5 Review for Rang. They have weekly matcha pop ups at Rose Tea Lounge. Original location is in Elk Grove, but they are here in San Jose area. Kind of hard to see and find them? given that there aren't really any signs posted outside. I perhaps wouldn't have known about it if my friend didn't tell me about it. Drink: Guava Matcha Einspanner: 4.5/5 This is their matcha with house-made guava puree at the bottom and topped with silky guava foam. Their foam is so nice and creamy. Felt very light and just thick enough. Silky consistency that mixed well with the drink. My friend noted that they make it fairly sweet, so I opted for the 25%. This was still quite sweet for me. Each component is sweet itself, so when you combine it, its mostly just sweet. No tartness to cut any of it. Perhaps the guava has something to do with that. Guava is a sweet fruit in general, so I seemed to expect as much. The matcha itself had a nice color to it. Very vibrant. Light bitterness. Lovely consistency overall. I like each component separately and I like them together when it's fully combined. Strawberry Matcha Einspanner: 4.5/5 This was my friends drink and I also really liked it. Had to try it for my review purposes. Per their Door Dash description, this is their matcha latte with their home-made strawberry puree and topped with velvety strawberry foam. There really wasn't much of a difference with this one and mine besides the fruit. His was slightly more tart than mine, which is something I like. Again, the drink itself leans more on the sweet side, so any sort of tartness would be nice to cut some of that. Matcha color is amazing. Nice and vibrant. Lovely silky consistency. I like the ratio of fruit flavor and matcha. Some places will make it just taste like milk, others have an imbalance of flavors. This one was just right for me. --------- Quality: Ceremonial Matcha and whisked to order We saw them whisk the matcha to order. Not really a display cooking kind of counter, but they do do all of that in the front where the cashiers are. You are able to watch if you so choose. I do like the matcha that they use, so it seems like a high quality one. That or it's because they aren't batching their matcha like other places. I understand that batching doesn't make it lower quality, but something about whisking it fresh is always better. Price: Average Will depend on the drink, but the prices are around $7 to $9. For our drinks, average around $8.25 per drink. Quite a common price range for a cup of matcha. This one was made well, so no complaints here. There was no upcharge for the oatmilk, which is always a plus for us. Service: Whisked matcha fresh No interactions today. We ordered directly on the kiosk and then just waited for our drinks to come out. Something that I like is that they whisk and make the matcha in front of us. Kind of hard to see, given my height and spot that we were standing, but they do whisk it in the front for us. Of note, they use this hand towel or cloth to wipe the bowls. Not sure how sanitation does with that, but I digress. Just an observation for today. Ambiance: Quaint Flower Café Vibes This place is giving very quaint flower café vibes. I would totally work here if I could work from home or if I needed to study. Space is incredibly spacious on the inside contrary to how the outside and plaza area is looking. Little dim lit inside, but that might be from the little lighting that's hitting through the windows given the angle and evening sun. Location/Parking: Small Plaza This place is like a pop-up/collaboration with Rose Tea Lounge. There's really no label for it outside of the storefront, but when you go into the café and on the kiosk, you can directly order from them. Kind of interesting how it works and I probably would have never seen it if my friend didn't bring me here. Location is not the best as it is right in a smaller plaza on the side of Story Road near the 101 freeway. At least they chose an area that is slightly less saturated. Vietnam Town is really close by and they really do have too much going on over there sometimes. Parking lot is also small, but it seems to work well with the smaller plaza size.

The menu is clear and visible. Everything looked clean and well-kept. The staff was friendly and helpful. I ordered the "Famous Philly" - my friend ordered the "Club Supreme." We both got chips and soft drinks. Here's the thing about Jersey Mike's, if you haven't been there. They have a slicer, and the meat and cheese are sliced fresh for each order. The bread is baked fresh on the premises. The sandwiches were really tasty. Honestly, if I were going just for a cheesesteak, I'd probably go to Amato's, but for a nice selection of sandwiches, this is a great option. For a fast, tasty meal with fresh ingredients, I highly recommend this location.

It's…read moreclose to me in the South SJ area so no complains in the location or the parking because there's lots of spaces. It has a clean interior and was somewhat busy with 3-4 people in line, but I did an online order and was able to skip the line. I placed the order at 3:30 pm but I had to wait about 5 minutes for it to be complete. My family mostly eats subway so this was an interesting take since it wasn't as long as a foot long but a lot thicker. The prices for the size of the sandwich are somewhat steep for $12 per sandwich. The doubled size is $20... Anyways, I ordered a BLT extra bacon mikes way with cherry pepper relish, banana peppers, onions, honey mustard & pickles on rosemary bread. The rosemary bread was quite dense but had a great taste. The sandwich itself had a good amount of sauce and had lots of acidic and slight sour but also spiciness. It was filling since the entire protein was bacon, and it was a lot of bacon. I was so stuffed right after and happy with my order. I would come here every few months if I had a craving.

Everyone was professional, friendly, and worked with a great sense of urgency. I ordered the Tostilocos and asked if they could put the sauces on the side because I don't like it too saucy, and they were happy to accommodate my request. I really appreciated that! We also had the cafe de olla on ice, that was refreshing. But our favorite was the horchata frappe!! It was so good it didn't make the photo album because we devoured it. Overall, we will return for not only sugar cravings but maybe a juice, torta or panini sandwich. The menu really has a large selection to choose from. Clean establishment with a good vibe.
