This was a terrific crew to work with on Labor Day They arrived promptly at my Cottage at 9 AM and proceeded to Load a 26' ft truck to Capacity. They really needed no Direction from Me as they were very experienced. Everything was boxed but they shrink wrapped every piece of furniture we had. We proceeded to my Storage unit where they unloaded into a 10x20 space. It was like a puzzle to get all that into the Unit, but it was placed and stacked very carefully. Recently purchased an under the counter fridge for our game room but had no idea how heavy it would be. Most of my friends are older than me so hard these days to find help. I called several movers and they wanted 3 hour minimum charge. Around the House had minimum too but reasonable in comparison. Two courteous guys showed up and moved the fridge up a flight of wood covered stairs, were carefully and efficient. They also took my old broken fridge out to my side yard to store until disposal. Biggest scammers out there. More details and believe me there is tons, will come soon. Avoid these guys there is plenty of moving companies and I thought because of the "4+ stars review" that this was the best choice while I was shopping around but don't let the stars fool you. There is many ways to keep a good rating (friends, family, neighbors, customers given discounts, deals etc to write good reviews). I immediately regretted going with this company over others, they quoted me 3-4 hours max and a cost of $400-$600 maximum with detailed description of all the material, furniture, size and distance of the two houses and every bit of detail about the entire move and need. And I even told them on the phone that I was shopping around and even though they may not be able to give me the exact price I do need a max amount that they wouldn't go over having heard all of the info. But still at the end I ended up being charged $1200 for a move? Have you ever heard of anyone paying that much. They worked super slow, had a problem with their truck battery not turning on which killed 20 minutes and another 15 at the gas station getting energy drinks and they drove the 10 minute drive so slow it took them 20 minutes or more. Literally doing everything they could to make sure it took them longer so they can charge the outrageous amount they finally charged, total nightmare of a experience and ended up paying way more than I intended to. Not good at all please save yourself the trouble of being tricked into paying twice or three times as much as other moving companies. They saran wrapped every single little thing 3-4 rounds around, literally doing every unnecessary thing to kill time. So terrible experience Response to Joel: Its interesting that every time someone has written a poor review your tone and words used have been rude, aggressive, threatening and unprofessional specially coming from a business owner. "Don't type behind the keyboard and say it to my face?" Lol Didn't charge me full price? So when I explained in details for 18 minutes on the phone the exact amount of items to your employee three different times and phone calls and he gave me the range of minimum $300 to maximum $600 I guess I received a discount with the reasonable and cheap price of $1100 for moving a two bedroom condo. Lol Also I guess if by moving two places you mean the fact that we packed everything in the house in boxes and the entire month prior I took all of the boxes to the garage in front of your truck so your guys don't have to walk back and forth to get them and burn time and energy and the only things left in the house were furniture and appliances total of 8 big pieces then yeah great job you're right. Also I didn't complain about them taking a break thats silly but you saying I didn't pay for their breaks to get drinks or for the battery on a truck which your company rents apparently from enterprise breaking as if you did me a favor is hilarious. of course I didn't pay Im only supposed to pay for the work done the employer pays the breaks and equipment issues. And lastly don't disrespect my family ever again by saying "parents rudeness" what rudeness? Them telling your grown men to stop picking their nose and throwing it around the house? Or them stressing because the house is supposed to be turned over at 7 pm and had I guess what you call "late afternoon" appointment at 2 pm which your guys had to show up late to and called me the day of and said is it okay if we show up 30 minutes late which ended up being an hour which you failed to mention because the job before apparently ran over and late as well, shocking! So from 3 pm to 7 pm they weren't done which caused my parents to stress and say okay its okay we don't have to saran wrap everything and go slow to kill time to make more money we need to get a move on. Thanks again for the rude and threatening response you provided a month later after getting my first review removed and now instead of trying to amend you made it worse. We used Around the House Movers for our local move last week and I was very happy with the team and our move. Gio, Noe, Fernando, and Mario were all incredibly nice and helpful. It was ridiculously hot and they took our difficult move (lots of stairs!) in stride and got it all done in one very long day. They packed things as well as did the move. As nice as the 2 men were who moved my things, I cannot recommend them to anyone. I was quoted the price of $465.00 from Byron for the minimum service. I had it on speaker phone and my husband heard the quote, gave me the "go ahead" nod and I also wrote it down. Once the move was over...which came in UNDER their minimum time - Byron increased the price he had told me by $100.00 - really without explanation. Just tellilng me that he didnt say that to me (he did) and speaking to me rather condescendingly. I have heard of this "bait and switch" tactic..... If you get a quote - get it in writing! EDIT to address the reply: I called on Saturday to get a quote - it was Byron who said "we can do it tomorrow". Frankly, until he offered, that was not my intention at all. To get an accurate quote, I told him I had 6 items in a storage unit to be moved to my home and gave him the addresses. I told him the big item was an upright piano on wheels. He said that is no problem and DID NOT mention an extra fee. He did mention the 3 hour minimum and gas fee, so I asked him to tell me what the total would be and he said "$465.00". I had the phone on speaker and my husband heard it. Only then did I decide to proceed - this was NOT a last minute job until Byron offered to do it on Sunday. I did receive your message AND called you back, leaving a message that I 'Wanted to discuss it with you", and you NEVER CALLED ME BACK. I even tried right now to call you and it went to voice mail. To warp the facts to suit your narrative is only more deceiving and confirms my suspicions. read more

So between my work, my personal needs and taking care of my aunties move they were so easy and straight forward and made the move seem less. These guys were awesome. I contacted the first five moving companies that showed up on Yelp in my area. This company not only responded first, but also gave me the lowest quote - $285 for two guys, three hours including truck, gas, moving blankets, plastic, etc. Some of the other companies talked about extra charges for mileage or had four hour minimums, but not these guys. Joel, the person I corresponded with, said the guys would arrive around 1 or 2pm. Moving day came, the guys called about 20 min to 1pm to double check our address and let us know they were on their way. They arrived promptly around 1:10pm (bonus points for arriving right on time!) and loaded our one bedroom second floor apartment into the truck in under an hour and a half. I felt bad we were on the second floor with no elevator, but they were so careful with our stuff going through the hallway and down the stairs. I was so impressed they didn't once bump anything (we definitely had some dings when we moved in...) They also wrapped all the bigger furniture in moving blankets and plastic to secure it. Once we got to our new place, they literally unloaded the truck in like 30 min. They even took the time to make sure each box ended up in the correct room because I had them all labeled, as well as remove all the plastic from the furniture and throw it away. So thoughtful!
