Had Gio, Miza, and Efren come to help me with my recent move within the city. Originally Around the House Movers gave me a first appointment slot of 9am, but I needed to get out sooner. They made an 8am slot available, and then on the day of the guys actually came early! The crew did a quick walkthrough of the place and then got to work, wrapping stuff and bringing in wardrobe boxes. I had mostly packed boxes myself already, but moving from a 2-bedroom place still means I had a lot of stuff. The guys moved fast and filled up their box truck leaving only a couple feet in the back unused. They were very efficient and got everything loaded in about 2.5 hours. Would use them again. We used Around The House movers this weekend and they were amazing! Jeremy and Stanley took the best care of our furniture and treated it like it was there own. Excellent service. This was my first experience using movers and they exceeded my expectations. I was initially skeptical of all the all star reviews but there's a reason this company has 5 Stars. I was able to make a reservation for a Sunday morning move with just a few days notice (pretty awesome considering I left a message with one other company who didn't even bother to return my call). I reserved 2 movers for their minimum time of 3 hours (truck included) for my one bedroom apartment. Hourly rate seemed pretty standard for the research I did. The movers arrived about 10 mins early. I gave them a quick rundown of what I had and they got to work. These guys were machines. Never once did I feel like they were wasting time (it actually made me feel a little guilty watching them!). My living room was full of boxes and they powered through the majority of them in 20 mins. The appliances, furniture, odd shaped items took a little longer since they had to be wrapped and taken out carefully. Side note: both the former and new residence are on the second floor so lots of stairs were involved. My advice for future customers is to get as many things in boxes as you can (versus bags or leaving things out, which I did with some last minute stuff) because those are moved significantly faster. The guys finished about 10 mins after my scheduled end time and I just paid a prorated amount of the hourly rate for that excess. I have no regrets about hiring these guys. If I could give Around The House Movers 10 stars I would! Fast, on-time, reasonably priced and the two most important factors for the 5 stars are HONESTY AND CAREFULNESS. Coordinating with Joel was easy and for our movers we had Bernard and Noah. Took 4 hours from start to finish which was amazing time. We were moving from an apartment on the 3rd floor with no elevator into a brand new home and best believe we were nervous about damage to our floors or walls. Bernard and Noah were very careful and we had NO damage! Bernard was very friendly and if we had any special requests he totally took care of them. As for a testament of honesty, we had an envelope with cash inside fall out from one of our bags during the move (our own fault of poor packing) and Noah gave us the envelope when he found it. We had an office relocation that needed to be done in one day and got a great quote from Byron that was much more reasonable than the other moving companies. After scheduling an early morning move with Byron the crew arrived early and were ready to go without any delay. Every one of the members of the moving team were given instructions and once they received their instructions they performed their duties as best as they could despite the narrow passageway in the office. Every piece of office furniture that had to be moved was carefully placed in their truck and anything that needed to be wrapped was done with ease. I have dealt with moving companies before and this crew was the fastest and also the most accommodating. Our office decided at the last minute to take all the office chairs to the new office instead of leaving them in storage. The moving crew made another trip back and made sure to place each and every chair in their truck carefully and did not damage any of the chairs. Once we were done with the move the office management decided to reward the crew with gift cards. The office team responsible for organizing the move was so happy with Around The House Movers that they had me call them back another day to help us organize the office furniture. The guys they sent were part of the original crew that helped us the first day and were happy to see us again, they were also punctual and able to get things organized in a timely manner. We have moved several times over the last 10 years and never experienced anything like this company. Honestly, I am not sure how people are giving them 5 stars. We hired a 3 man crew. They showed up on time but were very slow and bumped the furniture into walls a few times leaving dents. I expressed my concern and one of the mover immediately called his boss who then called me and said they are going to leave and stop servicing me because "I can see this is not going to end well." Imagine, you have taken a day off, planned your move, started paying rent somewhere else and your moving company threatens to leave you in the middle of a move. I have never ever experienced anything like this. They are very unprofessional and rude. I had to stay silent to just get the move going. Otherwise, what other choice do I have? Postpone move by 2-3 weeks and find another company? At the end, they showed me a bill with 5% credit card service fee without disclosing it beforehand. They also charged me tip stating it was mandatory for long moves. I will never ever hire them again and I suggest you stay away from them too. The movers showed up on time and didn't cause any visible damage to my furniture; however, I can't give them more than 3 stars since they appeared to be more concerned with saving time than with taking care of my furniture. Here are the specific issues I had: 1. They did not take any precautions to keep the carpets clean. They were not wearing any shoe coverings while inside, nor did they place any plastic sheeting or anything else over the newly-cleaned carpet in the apartment to keep dirt on their shoes from getting into the carpet. While moving my stuff into an apartment in the next building, the sidewalks they had to walk through were covered in dirt, so even if their shoes were clean at the start, they certainly weren't by the end of the move. 2. My 12-inch thick, $1,000 mattress is not designed to be rolled up into a cylinder; it's designed to be kept flat, just line the box-spring it sits on. When I asked them why they rolled up my mattress like it was some cheap piece of foam, they said they did it to save time. 3. After I saw what they did with my mattress, I started keeping a closer eye on them. As they were getting ready to move my $1,000 sofa, they placed my wood/metal desk on top of the sofa so they could move both items at once! Again, they were trying to save time, but sofas are not designed to have heavy desks sitting on them! 4. Just because an office chair has wheels on it, doesn't mean you should move it all the way to the next building by pushing it on its wheels over dirty sidewalks and through two parking garages. This was the last item they moved, and while moving it they carried their two dollies (empty) to their truck to save time instead of putting the chair on a dolly. This was their last move of the day and they did indeed save time (theirs not mine). The moved ended up taking less time than the 3-hour minimum I was charged for. I would rather they had taken more time while taking better care of my property. I've moved many times, and found this moving crew to be among the least experienced and least professional I've used. When calling in at the completion of the move, the mover didn't even know his company's phone number, nor was is programmed into his phone. He asked me to read the number off the back of his T-shirt while he dialed it, making me think that they were new-hires or temporary workers, which might explain their inexperience. read more

We asked them because of the high rated reviews, however they did not do great as some reviewer said imo. We have moved around Irvine and around south country many times. Our house hold items did not increse over the years, pretty much the same funitures, same amount of belonggings. We normally pay around 700-800 bucks per moving even when we moved back to Irvine from outside city nearby, takes movers about less than a day to move all our stuffs. This mover had three people. It took them All day long from 9am-7pm. We paid about 1500 bucks for this moving, moved within Irvine to Irvine, and they even broke one of my favorite lighting which I just got for the new place, no refound for that btw... So we are pretty much regretting using this company. read more

We have heard horror stories about other movers, so when it came time for our next cross-country move, we didn't hesitate to call again. And again, they moved us promptly, safely, and reasonably, with friendly service all the way through. We packed ourselves beforehand each time, then they arrived, filled in the gaps, wrapped the furniture, loaded, transported, unloaded, and unwrapped at the new place. It wasn't required, but providing lunch for the crew and tipping the individuals well at the end was much appreciated and felt good to us to show our appreciation for the intense labor of the crew. Planning was stress free and they were fast and clear with communication. The day of moving services, they showed up on time and were ready to start moving. They were impressively quick! Their price is $95 an hour with a minimum of 3 hours, which is a great deal, in my personal opinion. Definitely cheaper than other competitors. Also, there is a deal on Yelp where you can buy a voucher for $30, but it's worth $50! So, you're saving $20! Even better! We just used Around the House Movers four a long distance move. Their service and professionalism were surprisingly good - in fact, they were off the charts! We dealt primarily with Jaye to set up our move, and we dealt primarily with Joel throughout the actual move itself. This was a complicated, multi-truck move, and, please excuse the pun, one with a lot of moving parts. We had already vacated our home in Orange County, and the majority of our belongings were in two large storage units, (at different facilities). When our old house sold, they came to the house and removed all of the furniture we had left to stage it for the sale. We rented another storage unit for this as our others were completely full. Although we had expected to move within a month or two, it took us three months to find and purchase our new home. Around the house loaded all three units into two trucks and delivered everything on time. Although we still have quite a bit to unpack, we have not found even one damaged item. We have A LOT of things. Many are delicate and pretty valuable, including quite a bit of antique glass and artworks. Not only did they care about taking care of our possessions, they worked diligently, and, had excellent attitudes throughout the process. I have had some very unpleasant experiences in the past with smaller moving companies, but not with Around The House. They did absolutely everything they said they would, maintained an extraordinarily high level of communication, did excellent work, and, were surprisingly affordable. I can't say enough good things about Joel, Jaye and all of their staff members who facilitated our move. Although it is unlikely I will need their services again, I will recommend them to as many people as possible.
