My ARS saga...found them on the web, tried to set up an appointment, that feature crashed. Their chat is a bot that only understands a limited set of choices, I called and left a message, they never called back, I called again and scheduled an appointment, which they called to reschedule hours before they were due, then they called to reschedule THAT, to which I said nevermind. Have them literally every possible chance and dropped it each and every time. Worst service experience I've ever had. 12/6/19 UPDATE: I recieved a reply from "The owner" of ARS on another review site, his reply seemed to be stating they wanted to make things right. I send an email to the person he suggested, that Monday before lunch. I called to follow up Wednesday morning and was told that the person is on leave indefinitely. They took my info and told me I would hear from someone in 48 hours - which seems pretty ridiculous. the industry standard is 24 - It's been 48 hours and I've not been contacted. So, I've wasted 2 weeks of time, and gone without a guest bathroom through the holidays. The "the owner": either you have no idea how inept your back office is, or you were doing damage control by seeming like ARS cares. Clearly, they don't. read more

This company did a "bait and switch" on me. I called for service and confirmed that the special to clean the drain was $69. When the service tech got here at 5pm on a Friday, he told me it was $88.00. I talked to the manager and he would not honor the $69.00 special. Beware. Get a name of the person quoting you the price for one drain. Ask if this is a call center or the company talking. Finally, as for a copy of the "coupon." Worst experience ever. Set up an appointment to get a bid. They said they'd be here between 10 and 12. At 12:45 I got a call from ARS stating it would be another 1 to 2 hours. No problem. I was home anyway. At 3:45, still no technician and no call. So, I called them. She said she wasn't sure when she would get somebody out here but was hopeful she could in the next 1 to 2 hours. It's now 7:30 PM I have not received a call and nobody has shown up. How do they expect to tp do buswith me if they don't even show up all day long to give me a bid. Got a call back the next day. The caller didn't bother to say she was sorry or offer any explanation as to why they stood me up all day long the day before. She just said my advisor was on his way out. Great Drain Service! After leaving 6 messages and getting only a few call backs, I called ARS. I googled '$69 drain cleaning near me' I knew I could get the bathroom sink done for $69 and didn't want to pay $88 or $99 as I was quoted by others. They had same day availability and I had my choice of 2 hour time slots the following day. I received a call 2.5 hours prior to my scheduled 12-2 slot asking if someone could come earlier at 11 which was fine by me. The two call center reps I spoke with were both pleasant and professional. Gabriel showed up on time in mask and gloves and shoe covers. He looked at my kitchen sink and said since it wasn't currently backing up he would recommend a hydro-jet service ($649) to clear the line from build up that was likely causing an occasional odor. I declined that since it costs much more than a drain cleaning and will budget, SHOP AROUND and schedule another time and keep using my Plink deodorizes for now. Set up a pad in the bathroom and was done in 20 minutes. It literally took him longer to do the paperwork in the truck than the service itself. Drains well now and I'm very happy with their COVID compliance with the exception of having to touch the tablet to sign my name. I had planned to pay by check and reconsidered in case I have an issue down the road. The bad reviews almost scared me off. Yet, I knew what the issue was and figured I would have asked him to leave prior to the service starting if I wasn't comfortable. I am a real estate broker and have experience with home systems and continue to learn new things about home repairs. My two cents is any repair over a few hundred dollars deserve multiple estimates. Emergency situations are certainly handled differently. When it comes to maintenance, putting things off often leads to a more costly repairs when it is done especially with plumbing. I had a great experience with ARS for this simple drain clog. They offer discounts to Seniors Military and AAA plus have online coupons. read more

Purchased new HVAC system from ARS/RT via Home Depot 11 months ago for ~13k. Furnace stopped working last night. Called for an appt that they scheduled for today from 8-11am. By 11am when noone showed up, I called and was told by a very rude dispatch person named "Jerri" that they don't have an HVAC person even working today!! We were freezing thinking it would only be one night. Get it together!!! This is NOT the service that the salesperson promised me last year!! UPDATE-- They redeemed themselves!! When the technician arrived he didn't have a ladder tall enough to reach my roof (I informed them it was a 2 story condo and the unit was on the roof) had to reschedule... again. The day before the next scheduled appointment they called to reschedule because they only had one technician and evidently needed 2 because of the ladder situation (I guess) rescheduled yet again. Today they call and postpone the next appointment because someone called out sick... again. If you don't actually need anything done and just want the run around because you have all the time in the world, this company is perfect for you. However, if you actually need service... We had an appointment window from 8-10am this morning. At 9:30 I got a text saying they are running a few minutes late and will let me know when they were on their way. I texted back at 12:30 asking for an estimate of when they would be coming and got no reply. My husband later called and they said about an hour around 1:30. My husband called again when that window passed and they said we were the next job. Then when my husband called a third time at 6:15pm they tried to schedule us for an appointment tomorrow after having waited all day for them to show. It took four appointments to have somebody actually show up, and a fifth for them to be ready to do my services. I am not sure why they make appointments if they do not have plumbers to send out, but it is what it is. The plumber, Miguel, did a great job on the plumbing itself, but I was not granted all of the services originally promised. The person who did my quote (John, who also was a professional) apparently did not write down everything down that we talked about, which left me needing to still have work done after this whole ordeal. I had the quality assurance person that I talked to after Miguel finished the work promise that someone would contact me to get me a discount, but the office did not have any record of this, nor seem to be interested in helping me figure out who told me this, and the only thing that I was provided with after multiple phone calls with their management was a pair of $100 off coupons for a plumbing company that I don't have any intention of using again. The whole situation was very frustrating, tested my patience heavily, and made me feel like the stereotypical angry customer. read more

Incompetent sewer clog repair - had to dig it up (and my patio) again due to another clog after they repaired it - only to find they had poked a hole in the pipe when they backfilled the hole. Obviously their fault and they would not compensate me for the full repair. P.S. note thier "customer R" comment appears to be an automated response as I called them, left a message, and they have not responded. (I had already had many conversations with them about this, so their automated response looks like more evidence of poor customer service and incompetence.) read more

We had a problem with installing a value that was bent. Eduard came out on a Sunday to help fix the problem. There were two ways that the job could have gone, less expensive or more if he needed to weld the parts. He was able to fix it without welding. Eduard was very knowledgeable and had great suggestions on how to protect our greatest asset, our home. I highly recommend him. read more

I can't give them any stars, (I only had to in order for me to post this) as I have never seen how they work. I called ARS on the night of 10/10/21 to schedule an appointment for my shower that is clogged. They scheduled me for the following morning 10/11/21 that someone will come between 10a-12noon. At 1130am on 10/11/21, they called me that they are running behind and won't get to my house til after 12. I was fine with that. No one came. At 1:20pm, their office called again saying that they still don't have anyone available to come to me and they will call me back once someone is available. I asked if they have at least an estimated time, they said they can not give me an estimate time as to what time they will be coming. I didn't hear back from them Until 4pm! By this time I have found someone already who would be willing to fix my clogged shower. I told the caller that I don't need their services anymore. They are very unreliable. They could've told me when I made my appt or the first time they called me that I will have to wait all day for a plumber because that's exactly what I did! I will never be using this company in any future plumbing needs because again, they are unreliable. I might have paid more from what ARS was quoted me for this job, but I got a faster service from another company. This is a very disappointing experience. We had a main line stoppage that ARS came to assess. They said they could not use our washout to router/hydro jet the stoppage; instead they used a camera through our toilet to quote us $23,500 to fix the stoppage via excavation and re-line the existing pipe. We got a second opinion, and paid $195 to have a plumber hydro jet through our washout and fix the problem in 20 minutes. We still had to pay ARS $300 for their use of the camera, even though they did not roto root anything or even attempt to clear the blockage. I would not recommend this company by any means. read more

I was asked if I had a clean out within 75 feet of the sink and re-assured her that it was. I then continuously questioned her about the price and was told that was the only criterion I needed to meet. After multiple re-phrasing on my part, I felt confident there were no loopholes I might not be aware of. They were booked for the day so I agreed to their next morning window of 10 am-noon. Next morning, I received a text informing me that it would be closer to noon. Near noon, I received another text informing me it would be another 90 minutes to 2 hours. About 2 pm the technician arrived. She looked under the sink and told me there was no clean out there and that the job would cost me $279.00! I told her what I had been assured of numerous times over the phone only to be told that the person who took my original call was uninformed and incorrect. I immediately escorted her to my front door. Now curious, I started scanning their website. On another page I found a disclaimer in very small, italicized print stating the following........ I should have learned my lesson from my last review of this company, but here we go again. I figured I would give them another try, because after my last review of their company (I had given them a poor rating), the manger tried to resolve the issue. The manager blamed his overpricing on new technology that his company started using to compute billing quotes and he assured me it was being fixed. I recently called ARS to have them come inspect my kitchen sink for a leak. They came to my residence on Monday February 4 over two hours after the scheduled time frame (once again they are still late on appointment times). The guy who came to my residence stated, I probably had a drain leak and I needed a leak inspection to really know for sure. He said that will cost me $250.00. I thought that was kind of high but I figured let me see where this goes. I scheduled a visual water leak detection for Wednesday February 6 between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM. They did not show up on Wednesday until 5:30 PM. When the guy showed up, he stated the visual water leak detection would cost $450.00 and the repair of the drain leak would cost at least $1,500.00. I knew right there that this company has not changed. They are overpriced and never on time. Read other reviews, it's the same issues with this company. I would recommend to use another company. What's funny about this is that the plumber who came to my residence on Wednesday night, agreed with me that ARS is overpriced. read more

This review is from a recent transaction. I had them come and fix a leaking faucet in my shower. The technician was polite and respectful, however, they left the drain undone and now I can see exposed pipe. I have tried to schedule to have them come fix our other shower faucet and to repair the drain they left undone. However, they have RESCHEDULED MY JOB 3 TIMES and refuse to commit to a new time, letting me know in advance that they may cancel AGAIN. I talked to a supervisor, Jerry, but he repeated response is that she is sorry for the inconvenience, they can reschedule me, blah, blah, blah. Dispatch told me that they had their Christmas party this afternoon and that's why they didn't show up. Mind you, i took half a day off work to be home in time. At about 6pm the technician called me telling me that he hasn't even left yet and he probably doesn't have the items that he needs to fix the problem and would need to check his truck first for inventory. My mom spent $15K on this tankless water heater/Flovent water system for the whole house that this company swindled her on buying. Gave her all the promises of how great & long lasting this system would be. 1 year after the 5 year warranty not only do parts fail, the plumber couldn't get the part for a month. Meaning no hot water in a house of 3 elderly people (2 of which are disabled), a 15 month old baby & myself & 18 year old. The plumber refused to give me confirmation on the part that I could purchase for a fraction of the price & would've arrived in less than a week. Not only are there very few plumbers who can work on this system, parts are hard to come by. Of course he said I could've replaced the entire tankless water heater for another $7K!! I can't believe he would even suggest that. I would NEVER recommend this company nor their suggested products! Been without hot water since 2/20/23. The part is expected to arrive 3/17/23 after being told initially 2-3 weeks. We'll see if the plumber shows up that day or not. I'll call again on Monday. Horrible experience. read more

VERBALLY ABUSIVE DISPATCH If you need a new water heater (wh) avoid this company! After a call with Anthony (dispatch) we had to cancel our service to remove our old wh and install a new wh. I was on the phone with ARS requesting they disconnect the wh so that the abatement team (whom they connected us with!) could work on our damaged floor and walls. Once I got connected to their dispatch, Anthony, it was like a nightmare. Anthony was EXTREMELY rude, unhelpful and started YELLING at me on the phone accusing me of not wanting to pay them. I was simply asking if they could send out the plumber (who drained our water heater) to help us disconnect the water heater so that we could move forward with the service and have ARS install our new water heater. I have never once experienced this type of treatment before from any person or company, and found Anthony to be extremely unprofessional and verbally abusive. read more

These people will give you an expensive snow job. The wouldn't just snake 2 clogged drains. They said I have to repipe my whole house because the pipes aren't level. $4,000! I refused to let them in and they took a $500 deposit from me. Then just last year wrote on my credit report that I owe them $900 from last March. I moved out of the house long before that.
