My experience is RR is charmingly deceptive and the welfare of the customer is not their priority. Did not give any repair options to us, an uneducated homeowner. Case in point, an RR recommendation of urgent main drain fix at approximately $6,800 was adequately remedied by another company for $400. So, best to get estimates from others. RR also did not keep appointments after we were in the process of using them. Did not show up during their "3 hour window" and upon calling them, they didn't call us, they simply said an emergency happened elsewhere and they will be there when they can. Worst company I have ever dealt with. Garbage! I called them the night of June 14,2017 and was given a time for the following day for a plumber to show up at 10 am. I gave them two phone numbers, mine being the primary and my wife's as the secondary. They couldn't even get that right. They bothered my wife at her job with phone calls and they were directed to call me. They were two hours late and again bothered my By calling her at her job. They said they were going to be a few minutes late which resulted in another phone call from me to them. I told them they had until 1230 to be at my house and Freddie said she would make some phone calls to see if she can get a plumber out at my house to keep our business. She called me back and said they could be at my house in another hour, so I told Freddy that they had until 1230 and I was standing firm on that time or I will get another plumber to do business with. PSA! These guys are not looking out for your best interest to save money and I hate so say it, but they will rip you off if you let them. I called ARS to clear a clogged drain for the $88 special. The technician came out and said he cannot bring his snake to the roof as it may damage the roof (understandable). So he ran a camera down my vent pipe as there is no clean out close the blockage. He then tells me that the main sewer line is collapsed and will need to have the area dug up and replaced, but will also add a cleanout when he does the work. I was given an estimate of $5000 for the job, Yikes! I said I wanted a second opinion just to be safe. Well I got a referral from a friend about a Good plumber and he comes out same day, runs a camera down the pipe (just like ARS) and tell me he cant see anything as the water is too murky and wondered how can ARS see you have a collapsed pipe? Great question. So he suggest to try snaking the drain and uses a hand held snake to go through the vent tube and clears the drain within 30 minutes for a cost of $75. That's right $75 and not $5000 like ARS estimated. Watch out for these guys!!! read more

We had used ARS in the past to service our central heating system and they did a good job at what appeared to be a reasonable price. It was for this reason that we thought we would try then for a plumbing project. We needed a gas shutoff valve installed for our dryer. Our first clue should have been that they would not provide a quote over the phone. When the technician arrived, he provided a price from what appeared to be a standard price list. They just provide the "free" house call to get into your house. The technician explained that dealing with natural gas was not something that the average homeowner should try. He then proceeded to violate every safety protocol the book when it relates to working with natural gas. He did not turn off the main supply, or clear the lines before starting. He just pulled the cap off, stuck his finger in the line to stop the gas momentarily, then put the shutoff valve on. The whole procedure took less than five minutes. Had we known that this was all that he was going to do, we never would have agreed to the work. Certainly not at the price they were charging. Even if they had charged $100.00 to come to the house, and $90.00 per hour for the work (which appear to be common costs), the cost of the work would have been less than what we paid. As a result of this, we will never use ARS again and we will certainly not recommend them to our friends and neighbors. We had a suspiciously high water bill from the holidays, we did have a lot of company but still. When I opened the meter cover to check the reading the whole thing was filled to the top with water and it hadn't been raining. The City worker did come out and said yes there was a hole in "our" part of the pipe and it was up to us to repair it. Tony Silva was our lead service technician and on top of being very professional and doing great , clean work he was very kind and explained clearly what he was finding and what our options for fixing the problem were. Long story short , 63 year old house, 63 year old plumbing with the sewer line running through the garden with lots of tree roots. ARS has an agreement with my HOA and since the work they were doing was covered by the HOA, I couldn't shop around. ARS replaced my hot water pipes, running them through the walls and ceiling. There were two separate people that came to do the work. A plumber and someone to replace the drywall and texture/paint. The plumber moved several pieces of insulation to access the work and allow the inspector to see the final product. The drywall guy never replaced the insulation before replacing the drywall, now every time my upstairs neighbor flushes their toilette, it sounds like Niagara Fall is running behind my walls. Also, for some reason, now whenever my upstairs neighbor takes a hot shower, I can hear his hot water pipes popping loudly in the walls for about a half-hour. One of the places that the drywall was replaced can now be easily pushed in and a large crack in the paint is now visible. They also got paint on my toilets, mirrors, sinks, and tile floors. I would not recommend ARS to anyone! read more

And the first thing the serviceman did when he walked in was look under the sink, and say that I have huge Calcium deposit, then proceeded to try to sell me a valve to connect to my water filter for $1800.....He stood in the kitchen for over 25 minutes trying to sell this to me....I said no thanks....then he interrupted my work and wanted to show me the calcium deposit on the pipe....and said that in a month I will no longer have hot water !!!! he just kept on & on.... My tenant called and said the drain was clogged in the bathroom sink. My regular plumber couldn't get to it for a few days so I called these ARS/Rescue Rooter. They gave me a 4 hour window of time later in the evening when they would arrive. They showed in the last 10 minutes, but were within the window. So I saw the $88 special to unclog the drain on their website. When I called for the appointment I confirmed the price. The plumber does the work with the tenant there (I live 25 miles away). The plumber then reports that the nut on the trap is "bad". Over the phone I say, "I know you guys have to make money and you need to buy the part and then put your mark-up on it. So how much will that be?" $120 for a nut!!!!!!! I asked again and he repeated $120 for a trap nut. I told him stay right there and I would run to Home Depot, BUY A WHOLE TRAP FOR $15 and run it down to him. I was literally in Home Depot Parking lot 5 minutes later when he calls to say he managed to get it to work, even though the nut was "stretched out". Huh? So I ask him the total. $88, he says, but I was really getting a deal because normally it is $250. Well, the advertised price was $88. He claimed that he usually needs a paper coupon to give that price but he will let it go this time. Yup, thank you. I would never use these guys again. Every other Yelp review is a 1-star. They obviously have no issues with over-billing and being deceitful about what you need. If you do decide to use them, get a quote and stick to your guns. James was the plumber. $120 additional for a trap nut. A stretched out trap nut. HA! I was reluctant to pay because I'm saving for a left handed monkey wrench and also new spark plugs for my diesel truck. read more

I contacted ARS because it is $88 internet price include the drain. My estimate turned out to be $243.00. A classic case of bait and switch. From the minute Ed got here, he was trying to sell more services. I am disabled and my wife was dealing with them. He then said that a pipe had to be replaced because of a hole. This was true. The pipe next to it he claimed was cracked. He then gave us an outrageous estimates. $1,400.00. I told him to leave. The next day I got Bill Howe plumbing. They traced the pipe underneath the house and found that it was broken beyond the garage. Ed of ARS, told my wife the pipe was good beyond the garage. Bill Howe fixed the pipe and installed a toilet for $450. The toilet installation was 150. Ed(ARS) wanted $300 to install the toilet. After ARS answed my review, I tried to call them, as they asked. They answed and went into an ad for Direct TV. My advise is to stay clear of this company. You gamble on the plumber they send. They are a corporate umbrella for many plumbers, some good, some bad. Called ARS who initially said they'd come out and clear the line, then called back and said it must be septic and wouldn't come out. Our plumber showed up late in the afternoon without calling (was supposed to arrive by 1 PM). He started to come into our home with no protective shoe coverings, and my husband reminded him that during our quarantine for Covid 19 we were told he would be wearing them. He took off his shoes with no apology. He then proceeded to be disrespectful to my husband as he was trying to tell him about the problem with the drip under the kitchen sink. I overheard him saying twice: "NO! Sir, that is NOT what the problem is." It was unprofessional. After he determined that the connection was "poorly made" under our sink, he said, "I don't even KNOW what to charge you," as he didn't have the part he needed to do the repair! He then started talking about our water pressure being too high, and he wanted to see the regulator. On the way through our garage he looked at our water heater (which isn't new but is still functioning fine) and he said "LOOK at the corrosion on that pipe! That is your next Murphy's Law. And no pan under the tank! Well, no surprise there." When he saw our shutoff valve he proclaimed it very old and our water pressure was probably way too high. He tested it with our garden hose faucet and it was normal. I couldn't wait for Wesley to leave so we could report him and write this review. Both the dispatcher and the plumber were very helpful with me and my mothers plumbing issues. They were both courteous and made sure we understood everything they were doing. We needed our showers drained and cleaned. Eddy suggested after the cleaning that we buy a chemical to put down our drains every 2 weeks, to keep it clean. The dispatcher made sure we were up to date on when the plumber was going to show up. We had an appointment for 10-2:00pm. Unfortunately, they were running very far behind. Professional and they know what they are doing. We had a main line clog and had 2 plumbers out before these guys that could not fix the problem and didn't even know what they were doing. The first plumber charged me $400 and did not fix the problem. The second plumber wanted $1200!! These guys came out and ran a high tech video camera through our entire sewer system and found the problem and fixed it. They were there for about 5 hours and only charged me $225. They also found other issues with our plumbing that needed to be addressed such as old leaky cast iron pipes and quoted me a price to get that job fixed. I had 2 back to back toilets that were backed up. I contacted ARS rescue Rooter as they advertised a fair price. Their customer service was very good, however when they estimated someone would be at my home within an hour, that was not the case. I was called back at least 2 times with new estimated time of arrivals. After many hours, a very nice plumber arrived however his estimate of repair was over $500! He did state if we were to remove both toilets then I could call again for the $88 drain service. I agreed and removed both toilets, which is a timely and back breaking project. I called again for another plumber to arrive. Again, same problem with delays of arrival, told an hour and then many hours later a plumber arrived. . He was not courteous and rather rude! He did try to get a camera down the drain, but to no avail. He quoted a job to install a clean out for over $400. This company does not go on roofs, so could not auger through the roof vent. I did end up contacting another company who did go on the roof and completed the job within 30 minutes. They also were very punctual, considerate and came out on a Sunday morning! Their fees were very reasonable. The first plumber should have suggested contacting another company that would go on the roof, rather than leading us to believe the job could be done if we had removed the toilets. Now we are in the process of resetting the toilets, another timely project! This company created additional unnecessary work for us and could not do a simple job of snaking the roof vent! I needed our kitchen sewer line snaked , so I gave ARS a call. Their service provider arrived and was very courteous. He snaked the line and did a great job. I requested a camera be sent down the line to ensure we had no issues (tree roots, buildup, etc.). Beecher Prak (field supervisor) arrived with the camera and ran the camera down our sewer line. Beecher ran the camera down the sewer line approximately 30-40 feet and then stopped. Beecher told us we had a tree root problem, our sewer line was cracked, and there was severe corrosion past the break. So bad, that Beecher told me he could not send the camera down any further because he may break the light and lens of the camera. Beecher told us we needed to replace the kitchen sewer line leading from the kitchen/laundry, and the job would cost us $9,500.00. Beecher even had enough balls to provide an additional estimate to replace both our bathroom sewer lines, total combined estimate of that would have been $18,000. Well, a second plumbing estimate and camera inspection on the same sewer line revealed THERE WAS NO TREE ROOT INTRUSION, NO PIPE BREAK, NO CORROSION AND NO BLOCKAGE!!. Through my complaint process with ARS, Beecher was suspended for three days. He should have been fired for his EXTREMELY UNETHICAL BEHAVIOR. I even called him directly, told him I saw a second video and told him I knew there was no tree root blockage and no pipe breakage. Beecher stuck to his guns and maintained his unethical behavior. An experience I will not want to repeat ever! This company uses what I consider deceptive practices. I had a slab leak in my garage and was told I needed to have a leak detection company find the leak before they would give an estimate. The leak detection company did find the leak. The plumbing company representative had asked me if I wanted to make the phone call to the leak detection company or if I wanted him to do it. Since he had the connections, I told him to proceed with the phone call. When the leak detection company finish is inspection, the tech left and I opted to pay for that part separately from any other work that I needed performed. When I spoke with a neighbor/friend I told him I paid $525, he told me I should only have paid $250! I contacted the leak detection company directly, and they explained to me how they charge $250 to have a tech come out and find and map the leak. The tech came back later and told me he had just forgotten to do it the first time. I called the plumbing company and spoke with several people, the last one telling me that is a separate charge 4 mapping the leak. Made no sense since the tech had to follow the flow of water throughout the entire process. Why would they charge extra for something that was already accomplished? Then the plumber when I called him said that his company was charged $400 from the leak detection company for their services when they only would charge me $250. So where did that last $175 go? Turns out that the phone call that the plumber made to the leak detection company was considered administrative fees! For a phone call!!! I come to find out after internet research, that you need to know what you're asking for when you're getting an estimate for anything. Do the math first. This company is a scam! read more

Not impressed. Don't waste your time. Terrible service. They don't care about customers or customers' time. My HOA contracted them to come in and make inspections of my building's units for cartridge and valve replacements. I was scheduled for today between 3 and 5. I received a call at 2:33 confirming the appt so I left my workplace at that time because I didn't want to miss my appt. I've called in twice- last time was 5:55pm. I was told they'd call me back with an e.t.a. It's 6:43 and I have yet to receive a call. I called in at 6:45, spoke to Freddy and was told she would call me within 5 min. I called back at 7pm and rescheduled with Jill. Freddy never did call me back. My appt tomorrow is between 10 and 12, which is when my bf is available. If they don't come in, it's not our fault, but we cannot be missing work hours because they can't seem to be able to manage their schedules. Sadly, they're probably cheaper for the mass and this is what the HOA will pay for... but there would be NO WAY that my repairs, if any, will be done by them. read more

I wish I had of read the reviews for this rip-off company. I had all cast iron plumbing under my house that was over 60 years that needed to be replaced. I used Rescue Rooter and they replaced all the plumbing EXCEPT for the connectors which of still causes me trouble to this day 4 years later. They charged me $6600.00. I feel quite sure that as a woman, not knowing about the connector pipes and them not telling me, I was ripped off. They knew I was desperate and took advantage of that. This is by far the worst plumbing I have ever dealt with. Well I called for a appointment there tech came about 1130 am to clear the bathroom sink. I was at work so it's my mom's house so I told her I couldn't be there but we can get a 10 percent discount on the bill I also informed her if any problems to call me. Well I called to see how things are going and how much was the bill its $288.00 I told her to tell them to stop working and I was on my way there. So I talked to the techs and explained there add on line was $88.00 to clear 1 drain and that they were taking advantage of my mom that is 84 years old. They were going to camera the main drain for no reason because all the other sinks showers and toilets were working fine so no need to camera the main drain Then they wanted to put a new sink trap which is plastic nothing wrong with it and he wanted $88.00 for doing that. So I informed him that I was going to call his supervisor he changed his mind and changed the bill to $88.00 if I wouldn't have called my mother they would have charged her that full amount of $288.00. Today I had ARS rescue rooter come out to unclog my main sewer line which was clogged with toilet paper and whatever. I took a vantage of their special they advertised online which was a wonderful value to get acquainted with a great company. Diego and Tim did an outstanding job today. My main sewer line was a little challenging but they came up with a great idea of using the camera to send down the drain which actually unclogged my blockage as well. Their supervisor Wesley brought this camera over special just to help with the job. Wesley also explained some good ways to take care of my plumbing issues which I may take advantage of in the future. Unfortunately we did not find Jimmy Hoffa in my blocked sewer line today. If you're looking for a great rooter service and plumbers definitely go with ARS they were absolutely outstanding. I can't thank them enough. I had just moved into my new home and was looking to fix things up a bit. I was at Home Depot and decided to sign up for ARS Heating furnace check up (they were advertising a discounted rate). The tech was very professional and knowlegable, however he was giving me the hard sale on replacing my furnace with their top of the line model. I told him I would have to think about it so, he disconnected the power, secured the gas line and put a tag stating that my furnace was unsafe. I admit that my furnace is 19 years old and probably needs replacing, My biggest grip is there was no make or model associated with their "5 Star model", when I called other furnace companies, I was quoted specifics on brands and the costs were less than half for the same level of performance. (95% eff, 2 stage) Cost was $7,000 from ARS and only $3,000 from ASI. I told ASI the quote I was given from ARS and they were not suprised by ARS high price / high pressure techniques. Anyone that reads reviews should quickly find that ARS will attempt to rip you off. read more

This company is not honest and charges exorbitant prices. I was on a trip and my wife needed a P-trap under the sink cleaned out because the sink was not draining. The plumber came and unscrewed the trap and cleaned it out. His work took less than 30 minutes and he charged her $281. I called to complain and they did not care nor offer to reduce their exorbitant charge. Please use another company that does not take advantage of people and charges fairly based on the time the job takes. read more

I called ARS and spoke to a very friendly, knowledgeable woman who said she could have someone come out within the hour. Mike Colletta showed up and was great! He explained my options on how to remediate the situation and took the time to explain to me the cause and how to prevent future clogs. We had to have restoration people come out and ARS recommended a company that possibly overcharged and definitely under delivered. If I could give a zero rating I would! Plumber came out 2 weeks ago to rebuild our guest toilet. After spending over $400 we noticed that the toilet is running intermittently. We called ARS on 12/24 and were told someone would be out today between 12-2pm. I got a call at 1pm to say the plumber is running 2-3 hours late. I told the guy that called that he should have let me know sooner so that I could have done more of my errands before rushing home (on my day off work) to be around by 12pm. He told me I could go out now (1pm) and run my errands. How dare he plan my day for me. If ARS is unable to stick to a two hour window then give a longer one but do not call me one hour into my window and add 3 hours onto the time!!!!!! It is now 4:03pm and no sign or call from the company. I think I may have to dispute the charge on my credit card since I paid for a service (a working toilet) that I haven't received. Do yourself a favor and find a reputable plumbing company. There is a reason why they only have a 2 & 1/2 star rating on Yelp! read more

This company, like other companies who sell water treatment systems, would do anything to sell you their expensive equipment and NOT install your purchased equipment. Be careful when you call this company to do any work for you and do no fall into the sales mimics. You would always be better off with a company that does not have a product to sell. I called to see if they would install a water softener that I purchased from HomeDepot for $400. When the technician showed up 3 hours late, he said it is illegal to do that and tried to sell me one of their treatment systems the first question he asked: have you already purchased a water softener? Can you return? right away, I realized I have another scamming company. I told him immediately I do not need an expensive water treatment system and that I was convened that I only need a water softener. He went on and on trying to convene me that water softeners are longer being used he even went far to claim that they are illegal. when I asked him to just go ahead to write me an estimate to install my water softener, he write an estimate for $1800 to install it and put next to side by side the cost of their system, which $2000. These people are really scamming customers to convene them it is cheaper to buy their expensive systems. I was upset that he really insulted my intelligence in this manner and asked him to leave. BY the way, I got my water softener installed by a plumber who had done work for us before for only $300. read more

A clog in the main line prompted me to call Rescue Rooter. The clog was cleared by a very friendly technician. But that's where the good news stops. A supervisor was sent out to check the work and he had nothing but horrifying things to say about my plumbing. Showing a camera image of the lines he claimed I had holes throughout the line and needed $ 8-12,000 in repairs. It was very scary. Thank goodness I called another company and repairs were one-tenth the price. And there were no holes in the line. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Horrible customer service and timing. Originally called at 1130am, was quoted an arrival time of a hour to a hour and a half. They called us back at 130pm and told us it would be another 1-2 hours. We asked about the original quote time and they dismissed us. Last call of the day came in at 7pm and stated all their service people were still 2-3 hours away. We were informed then asked if we could get scheduled for a time tomorrow, very upset, angry and frustrated that our shower does not work, we told them we would go elsewhere for service. We feel as though we were brushed off throughout the day and could have called another company at anytime if we would have originally known it would take so long to NOT receive any service!
