I'm a huge boba fan so I decided to try out this place. I'm so glad I did because they have the best boba in town! I got the Milk Tea Froze with regular boba. It was so tasty! ONLINE ORDERS: make sure you specify you want straws for your boba tea. Even then you have a 20% chance they will actually add a straw in the bag for you. So once it gets delivered you can't drink your boba tea since you now don't have the straw. Reviewing this as a visitor from California. The boba scene is better out here but I have to say I was relatively impressed by this place! The boba was soft and chewy, not over or under cooked which was already a good sign. The jasmine milk tea was a bit weak as far as tea flavors go but overall fairly decent drink. I have tried multiple places and they don't come close to the quality of Artea. They just opened a location closer to me that has a really cool interior design with Murals and lighting that pops. Visited this place on a recommendation by someone we know. So we decided to try it and see about the recommendation we had been given. So we decided to try the creme brûlée tea and winter melon black tea. They were both pretty good but still think the teas from nearby Gongcha are better. Then we tried the fried rice and the popcorn chicken. The rice is amazing. Some of the best fried rice I have ever tasted. In fact my guest got mad because I practically ate it all when we were supposed to share. Then we had the pop corn chicken. The chicken had a good flavor to it. It started off really good but then eventually the flavor was too much for me. The popcorn chicken tastes like it has a mix of cinnamon and other seasoning. So while it tastes different and good at the beginning, after a few bites it stares to taste differently, well at least to me. So if you are in the area, the rice is definitely a must eat dish and you won't be disappointed. The popcorn chicken is ok but not as a meal. The flavor to me was a little overwhelming. The teas are good and will pair well with some foods but for my money, and if I'm not going to eat, would rather get them at Gong cha within the same shopping center. read more

This location is HUGE compared to the DeZavala location. It has a separate kitchen from drink station so it's MUCH faster service. My experience from the other location is that it's good but slow so I downloaded the app and ordered online before coming over. The app said it would be ready in 35 min and I had a 12 min drive. So I waited 10 min and then packed up the kids to go. So I was probably 13 min early and my food was waiting for me! I was quite pleased but that gives you an idea on speed of service for Culebra Commons vs DeZavala. Food wise I wasn't very hungry and wanted to try the red, white and green drink with matcha and red beans. So I ordered the Artea yum roll. It's deep fried and served hot. The cream cheese was melted and gave a richness to the dish. It was tasty and filling but certainly not traditional but more like a croquet. My daughter got the potstickers and the mango coconut drink. She loved the drink it had lots of fruit and jelly. The potstickers were good but didn't stand out from other potstickers. Solid pork and onion flavor. My son got the chicken teriyaki and it was better than I expected. It had a thick sweet glaze and the pickles complimented it well. He also go the crème brûlée drink. He didn't like it but I think it would have been good with boba. We left the default on it and it didn't automatically have boba. It had a mild sweetness with a charred sugar taste. Which I thought was a good interpretation of a brûlée. My son didn't like it though. So good food and faster service... but food and a bubble tea probably averaged $16 ish per person then add tax and tip ... a bit pricey. read more

FINALLY! We were some of the first costumers to the original Artea and loved them from the start. When we saw they were opening one closer to us we literally freaked out. They have incredible food and their boba is unmatched. They make teas without the syrups or fake flavorings. Everything is fresh, natural and REAL from tea to tapioca. Their potstickers are delish but wait until you try their spicy edamame and the SWEET POTATO FRIES (there is no reason a boba place should have such great sweet potato fries but they are the best I have EVER had anywhere). Staff is amazing. Outdoor seating so dogs are welcome and the perfect place to hang with friends. Favorite local business in San Antonio! Thank you for the clarification Marissa. Please inform your employees. I had gone in and asked. The dogs with me was my service dog and a service dog still in training. I knew my service dog could not be turned away but when I asked the employees they told me dogs were not allowed but since he was a service dog in training they would allow him in. I would not have minded going to the patio, I just took a table in the back corner. They are German shepherd's and my service dog normally tucks under my table as she is trained to do but they both won't fit under those tables and I was appreciative and wanted to keep out of the way. Unless Duke is doing training he is not with us and it wouldn't have been an issue but when he was I specifically looked for restaurants that allowed dogs for that reason, there are several in San Antonio. But it's all good but you might want to make sure your employees know if someone asks about dogs being allowed to refer them to the patio. It just wasn't the experience I had. But it all worked out. While I really like the product that Artea has to offer. I am lactose intolerant and enjoyed being able to have the flavor of milk tea with their nondairy creamer. I frequented the DeZavala location when it was the only location since opening and have since switched to the Culebra Commons location due to it being significantly closer to where I live. This location has been a revolving door for staff. I do not know what's been happening behind the scenes however it is absolutely insane that Marisa Choi is unable to keep employees. The high turnover rate is not normql. I will no longer be supporting artea anymore due to this. read more

This location is bigger than the one in De Zavala but it's a lot busier. Line moved pretty quick and the food came out pretty quick too. Drinks took a bit loner than the food. Food and drink are just as good as the other location. There are not many outdoor seating but there are plenty of parking spots. read more
