This review is long overdue. I've been coming here for 8+ years and I come back because the food is amazing and the staff is exceptional. Portions are big and everything I have ordered is exceptional. My favorite is the kornish hen but the ground beef and ground chicken kebabs are great as well. I like to order for the table and share. Arturo Junior and Senior are the absolute dream team with their authentic food. Truly the most amazing and tender combination rice plate. I came with my dad and boyfriend, and it was my boyfriend's first time eating Persian food and he couldn't even choose which dish was tastiest since everything was top tier. We got their two kebab combo with the beef and skinless chicken which was a nice bright orange and all dark meat! Juicy and flavorful are understatements and we were such a fan of the rice. After too many cold lunches for so long, a bulb went off in my head when I had to go drop off something at a customer today. I could get some Arthur's since just off the path! Been so long since the Covid heights, but good to see the place is running well. I remembered there was 2 parking in front of the restaurant for pick ups and that made it very easy to get the food and go. Order took about 15 mins to be ready. Very filling and it made for a great Friday lunch to have hot food instead of my usual cold lunches day in day out, lol. Now I know I have kabob option if need to make some deliveries in this direction, hopefully I don't forget or get lazy like I've become to not move from office for lunch. Always seem to be eating the chicken kabobs. Snapped a pic of the menu and noticed they have Ghormeh Sabzi! Gotta try that since I loved it when I ate multiple servings at a wedding once. But there was some meat in that one and this menu says vegetarian so maybe it doesn't have any meat? Or maybe I need to get the Gheimeh (beef stew)? But Gheimeh doesn't seem like it's the parsley stew base like the Ghormeh Sabzi, will have to clarify next time if I want to try:) read more

Finally my overdue review to my favorite Persian food restaurant in Los Angeles. I try to make it a habit to drop by and eat at this place whenever I'm around the area. My favorite plate to order is the Beef Koobideh and my wife's favorite plate is the Grilled Salmon Kabob. And for my to go order, I always get the Shish Kabob (Filet Mignon Kabob) which is always tender, juicy and good. The price is very reasonable and the portions are big. Not only is the food delicious, but the service and friendliness of the staff goes way beyond any expectations anyone should have at a restaurant. This a small shack like building on the corner and I was hesitant to enter because of the location/looks, however I'm so happy I got over my ego to eat here. They try really hard for a very small kitchen but using decent recipes. Take the advice of others, if you're not into having a relaxing wait for your meal (the garden actually is quite nice on days that it's not too hot outside) do just call ahead and let them know at least 20 minutes before arrival. We get a combination luleh plate, which is sort of off-menu and called a "protein plate", which is one beef luleh and one chicken luleh. Tried the substitute Albalou Polo (sour cherry rice) but it comes out actually much sweeter than it probably should (would make a good pairing with roast duck or roast pork, for example.) And usually I would order a Zereshk Polo (barberry rice) instead, but that's not available here. Mixed green salad provided with the plates is nice and refreshing, and as with many Persian establishments, they are generous with portions (you could probably split a plate with two as a light meal easily.) I can see where if there are more than about 5 tables filled in the restaurant, the staffing becomes immediately inadequate, but such is the nature of a small bistro sized restaurant. For the area, it's a nice change of pace from the regular fare, and equally because the rents are going up in the bordering Arts District, the prices have had to go up - probably more than people in South Bay would be used to for the same fare. I think if ordering what you like, and noting the small variances in what you can expect recipe-wise, this is a fine establishment bringing otherwise exotic foods into the mix of the growing DTLA/Arts District offerings. read more

I call ahead to make sure I get my order in time since they're always very busy and it may take a while for your food to be made. I drove past this place on a zig-zagging drive through LA to avoid traffic. "Aurthurs Garden - Home of Fine Persian and Mexican Food". I thought, "Ha, what an interesting combination!" I made a mental note to bring back some of my Persian friends for the true test. Well, we went, and not only did I think the food was great, but the true Iranians also thought is was great! They said it was authentic (both of them have only been in the states for about a year). The restaurant is owned by Persians, with the cooks and staff being Mexican, but they are definitely trained well in the art of Persian cooking. (We did not try anything from the Mexican part of the menu.) The ambiance is minimal, it kind of feels like a Mom & Pop Fast Food restaurant, but it did have a side patio, which we could not enjoy on that rainy day. Street parking. If you're looking for somewhere new and different to have lunch near downtown, this is the spot. I hope it's still there! I kind of thought, "How will anyone find this place?", which is why I'm taking the time to add it. It deserves to be known. read more

I drive by pass this place almost everyday on my way to work and wondered if it was good. The advertise fine Persian and Mexican food...? Anyhow lucky for me I left my lunch at home and didn't feel much like driving or putting thought into where I would eat so I went for it. I saw how busy this place gets for lunch so I tried to get ahead of it. I called 45 minutes ahead. Showed up and they are running around frantically filling huge orders for delivery. Mine was not ready so I sat down to wait. It only took them a few minutes and my food was piping hot. Definitely key to order ahead and have some patience. THis is a small place with big demand. The food is fantastic. The service is great, considering their demand. Overall a great place for take out, as long as you don't have a super strict schedule to stick to. Not an authentic tasting persian place. The outdoor seating is very nice. The rice is too moist and soggy. The chicken texture tasted off and the seasoning didn't give it a special taste.
