    Sicilian Slice
    Melissa N.

Give the well-known Artichoke Pizza a try. They offer big slices at reasonable pricing, and they stay open late into the evening. Their Sicilian pizza, which is in a rectangular shape, is extra cheesy and crispy. I haven't tried their famous artichoke pizza yet. I'll certainly visit them again.

Solid pizza spot in general. No chairs to sit but they do have countertops inside and some tables outside that you can stand at to eat. 2 slices was enough for me to share with 3 other people as a snack and be satisfied but personally not quite enough for a full meal Artichokes pizza: 4/5. Big big fan of this pizza but -1 bc it's def very creamy so I can't finish a whole slice myself. Def eat it as quickly as you can after getting it so the bottom is still crunchy Vodka pizza: 5/5 I really liked this one

Came here for a late night slice and it really hit the spot! I got a margherita slice and it was delicious, very thin and crispy. The sauce was flavorful and it had a good amount of cheese. The sauce covered almost the whole pizza so there wasn't much crust which I prefer! They're open late too (until 5AM) which is nice so the perfect place to stop in for a late night snack/meal.

If you are high, drunk or something along those lines and want something filling, this is it. We got a slice each of the artichoke and pepperoni - both are unusually thick, soft and hence unwieldy. The artichoke was saltier than usual. I would not come here sober mostly because I like Neapolitan or Brooklyn style pizza.

The pizza slices are huge and they warm up the pizza when you place the order they have tables in the lobby area. We can stand in each other food. The pizza was okay. I didn't quite like the cheese. It wasn't warm enough. The cheese was thick. It's a staple based on companies and was highly recommended. The staff were friendly and the place was clean. Hope you enjoy.

i tried the crab pizza, and it's such a unique pizza topping that i didn't expect to work as well as it did. the slices are HUGE (bigger than your head) & a little too heavy / oily for my preference. i wouldn't actively crave it, but it's definitely a solid post-night out / drunk kind of meal! not a sit-down place, but there are counters for you to stand & eat your pizza

An ok late night pizza spot - the pizza was pretty fresh tasting, but still quite oily and the crust wasn't that crispy. The spot is pretty spacious, and I appreciate that they had high tables outside.

I don't give out mediocre reviews lightly! I love pizza and have been to Artichoke Basille's at this location and other locations throughout the years. Visited a few weeks ago on a Friday night around 7-7:30pm. I ordered the Staten Island (meatballs, onions, ricotta) for the first time... the pizza tasted stale, dough was funky/gummy from reheating. I tried to return it and get my money back. I reached out privately via social media but never heard back. I would give them a chance to redeem themselves if they reached out.

Artichoke slice was really good, but very very rich. It's also huge. Would recommend splitting one because it basically feels like the equivalent of eating a bowl of Alfredo sauce. Great in the moment but you do feel bad about yourself after.

For some reason, this pizzeria blunted my expectations. Upon entering, it initially felt like the perfect pizzeria with a toasty oven and wholesome decor plus marble furnishings and big cast iron oven. Employees were friendly and allowed me to pay with a credit card despite being under the $15 minimum posted on the signs. The pizza itself, however, was just average at best and did not have the kind of cheesy taste that I'd come to expect based off the display. Crust was crispy and golden brown plus the price was great ($5 per slice), but the taste itself wasn't particularly my favorite.

I was on my way to get lunch with a friend when I saw Artichoke Pizza on my way to the restaurant. I had heard about them before, but never got to try their pizza, so I dropped by. I'm really glad I did. The staff was very friendly and service was quick. I ordered one slice of artichoke pizza and it was huge! At an affordable price of $7.57 with tax). I only noticed the sign on the wall saying they only take card for orders over $15, but the owner allowed me to pay with card. This slice was so unique. Super creamy and savory. Pizza was thick, but crust had a crispy exterior and soft interior. It can easily feed 2 people. I would not order this often because it can be heavy, but I can see myself craving this once in a while.

A taste of New York in a slice of pizza. NY Pizza was on the bucket list and this did not disappoint

No exaggeration, this would be my last meal. When you walk in you get greeted by everyone. It's such a welcoming atmosphere as you're all there for 1 thing; delicious artichoke pizza! I have put so many people on to this pizza. It is my absolute favorite!

Hi I have a few questions. Is there is gluten free pizza?…

No, personally I have never seem any of these choices offered.

Is the crab pizza not available any more? Saw it on the website but couldn't find it on the menu.

Yes, I went last week and they had crab pizza.

Which locations provide the pepperoni option? I have been going to Artichokes for years and am now seeing pics of pep. slices. Never see them in their stores. Help me please....

All of them have pepperoni and other toppings now.

The best of everything at any hour does anyone else agree?

The arancini was a standout: perfectly crisp on the outside, creamy inside, and served with a rich, delicious sauce that tied it all together. We ended on the tiramisu, which was absolutely worth saving room. It was light, flavorful, and a perfect finish to the meal. What really elevated the experience, though, was the staff. Everyone was genuinely kind and helpful--especially notable for New York--and it made the whole evening feel relaxed and welcoming. A small heads-up: it's a bit tricky to find, so give yourself extra time. That said, the hidden, underground subway setting is part of the charm and makes the whole experience feel unique. I'd love to see more restaurants creatively use these kinds of spaces in the future.

To start with the good: the arancini were perfectly passable, and the Sicilian pie was enjoyed by all. I would describe it as more of a Detroit style actually, with a super crispy crust and nice textural contrast. On the other hand, we did not enjoy the seasonal vegetable pie or the nepo pie. I generally really like this sort of no-cheese, umami-heavy pizza, but the nepo was so salty! I'm not sure what specific ingredient was missing, but missing it was. My hopes for a recreation of the rossa pie I enjoyed at Farina prior to their closure were dashed. As for the vegetable pie, the vegetables tasted like the frozen veggies one might find in what was once marketed as a "TV dinner". It was a shame, since the sauce of the white pie was otherwise pretty good.

RIGHT BY THE DOOR. Do people not realize that putting a bar near a door on a freezing cold night benefits no one? Good thing I did not order alcohol or I would have froze to death. Seriously, none of the pies stood out in grand memory. All I can think of is, well, nothing. Nothing positive anyway. The names of the pies are funny, and the staff is friendly, but besides that, the quality of the food for lack of a better word, dare I say it, sucks. Hoping to salvage the meal, I ordered their Chicken Parmesan. It was the Hail Mary pass that unfortunately did not connect. The cutlets are overcooked and dry, and the red sauce cooked with it has minimal tomato flavor. At least the spaghetti is cooked to a nice al dente and mellow garlic butter flavor, but like the sauce cooked in, it is also minimal. Part of the problem I feel is they are trying to go for a vibe that has a New York and modern feel. It does not work. Stay true to one or the other. Or at least look at other business models. I will use another pizzeria in Bushwick that exemplifies it perfectly. It is a hipster pizzeria in a hipster neighborhood. Through balance, it creates an ambiance both welcoming and warm without losing any of its Bushwick character. It does this by not beating you over the head with hipster vibes, just enough to let you know that you are in Bushwick. The band Franz Ferdinand was playing as I was wrapping up. Rather than take the pizza out, I suggest you throw it out. Overall pizza rating: 1.7/5

The first thing you notice is the main bar wall, with its exposed centuries-old brick that has survived every bit of chaos this city could throw at it. I have to say the centerpiece of the entire narrow room is the bar itself, and let me tell you, it is an absolute stunner of a contrast. Instead of the usual dark, sticky tavern wood, they've dropped in a long, continuous slab of pristine, elegantly smooth white stone. It glows under the soft lighting like a block of polished marble. There are no strobe lights and no obnoxious, skull-rattling bass in this joint. Instead, the room is wrapped in a blanket of incredibly chill music that matches the pulse of the room perfectly. It's just loud enough to drown out the noise in your own head, but quiet enough that you don't have to scream over the smooth white counter to be heard. People aren't here to be seen on TikTok; they're here to disappear for an hour or three. You slide into a chair, order a proper Old Fashioned from a bartender who doesn't rush the pour, and watch the ice melt against the amber-lit brick. It's the ultimate underground exhale--a perfect, narrow slice of peace in a city that never shuts up. Cheers!
