As others have noted, this is some of the best pizza in New Jersey--absolutely delicious! We enjoyed the margherita, pepperoni, and corn (a seasonal specialty). It can get busy, so go on the early side if you can. Highly recommended!

Delicious food, bright and relaxed atmosphere, and great service all around. Artie's is a fantastic family-friendly restaurant that not only specializes in wood-fired pizzas but also baked goods like breads and pastries. I always love trying something off their seasonal pizza menu; during my most recent visit, I loved their maple bacon pizza, which had the perfect balance of sweet and savory. They don't accept reservations, so expect it to be pretty busy, especially during the weekends. Note that they also only have a limited cold food menu during the off hour between lunch and dinner.

A hidden gem really. A great place to go for a date night. Expect a bit of a wait on the weekends. Great drinks and food. Staff was helpful and I had a great evening here.

The food was amazing we had pizza, sandwiches, and fantastic mozzarella, that we even ordered some to go. The place was definitely busy. Tons of families and kid friendly. Their drinks were good if you like vermouth inspired drinks. The place is huge so plenty of seating. They also have a pasty bar with amazing things we took home cookies, almond loafs, ham and cheese croissants and jalapeños ones too!

Still easily my favorite pizza in NJ, no contest. Since moving to the new location, Artie's is better than ever!! The restaurant itself is spacious and has an inviting atmosphere. Love going in the warmer weather when they open up the doors and have the bar serving on the patio. And let's face it, if you know anything about Arite's you know that there will always be a wait on the weekends. Having the bar and the patio makes waiting a breeze! The food is seriously better than ever. I actually think the pizza is even better at this new spot than the previous location. The sleeper favorite for me is the maple bacon pizza. Takes the white pie to another level and has become a go to for me. Always, I repeat always, order the meatballs and save the sauce for your pizza crust. The farmers salad is always a must for me as well. No one does a salad like Artie's. Give this place a shot because trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Love the atmosphere and there is ample parking in the back if it is not packed. Side note, the parking lot is all rocks- does anyone else love the sound of tires driving slowly on rocks? No? Just me I guess. This place was pricey for lunch. 50+ bucks for splitting a pie, one app and 2 sodas. The pizza was just a little more charred than I like- and I love crispy things. The burnt bubbles on top disintegrated into powder if touched. Okay pizza, better atmosphere but still overpriced for us to return.

Be prepared to wait because they don't take reservations, but it's worth it. It was an hour wait on a Friday night. They have an outside area where you can hang out and order drinks while you wait. 10/10 for vibes, food and drinks. Their pizza is one of the best. I can't wait to go back.

I enjoyed EVERYTHING about Artie's. Driving to the restaurant, you'd swear that it would be at someone's residence, but after passing a few homes on that block, it catches your attention. The restaurant's interior is spacious, I loved the separated layout of their tables, and the contemporary warehouse vibe was awesome. Known for its wood-fired pizzas, Italian dishes, baked goods, and operating in a larger space that was formerly Arturo's. It offers a full bar with wine and cocktails, and is praised for its fresh ingredients and unique pizza toppings. For the first time, I ordered a Brussels Sprout Pizza (Brussels sprouts, bagna cauda, leeks, fresh mozzarella, parmigiano) and it was EXCEPTIONAL. The crust was thin, the undercarriage was lightly charred, all of the ingredients remained firmly on the crust with every bite, and I cannot recommend this pie, enough. The Meatball appetizer was just as good as the pizza. Each meatball was totally covered with the sweet and savory sauce and it's the perfect starter. We also ordered the Orecchiette Piccante (spicy tomato sauce, herbed breadcrumbs, ricotta). Each forkful was pleasantly spicy and the pasta was firm, fresh, and delicious. For the first time, I ordered a Hibiscus Iced Tea and it was refreshing, sweet, and served in a large glass. The service was extraordinary. Andres tended to us with a smile, was attentive, and made us comfortable throughout every course. I became a huge fan of Artie's and it will be on the top of my list when visiting this area. Ohhhhh.... and is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Artie's was an accidental discovery when I saw a coffee shop a sign saying "proudly serving croissants from Artie's." Anywhere proudly serving a croissant from a bakery is a place I need to know about. I figured I needed to drop in to see the source and very glad I did. Artie's is a huge buildout in a warehouse with two floors. There is a bakery section with pastries and coffee in addition to a sit down restaurant serving sandwiches, pizzas, pastas and cocktails. The we got the maple bacon pizza and it was delicious. I loved the crust and would definitely reorder. We also got the mortadella sandwich with Comte.. amazing. The bread was especially excellent. There is no doubt I want to return to Artie's for more pizzas and sandwiches. We got a table without a wait on a dreary Saturday afternoon, but I read this place has a pretty long wait for dinners and I imagine it's even longer on a beautiful summer day.

Cannot believe how busy it was on a Monday night! They have a waiting area outside and allow you to order drinks while you wait which was nice. As a party of four, we ordered two large pies: Zucca (zucchini and ricotta white pizza) and Caciocavallo (red sauce, shaved caciocavallo cheese, EVOO) and added jalapeños. Both were a hit, but I'd swap the Caciocavallo for a Margarita next time. Crust was super crusty. Small park lot in the back.

    Ask the Community - Artie's

Does Artie's have any gluten free options?

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think so. I've gone in before hoping for gluten free or even vegan cheese pizza's but they don't have anything unless the pm menu has changed recently. I'm hoping it's something they think about adding to their menu.

Is pizza served during their lunch hour? I remember coming here a couple of years ago and was only able to order from a small lunch selection.

Yes it is. And you can order it to go if the wait for a table is too long.

Best plan to secure table for 6 on a Saturday night?

Just go 30 minutes prior. U can wait outside and have drinks. All party must be present or you will not be seated.

Is this still Dan Richer's recipe? And does he still own the place?

Dan does not own it anymore but it is where he learned how to make great pizza

    Is this place byob?

    Sure is!

Do you not serve any chicken?

From what I saw on the menu.. the answer is no.

I've driven…read moreby this pizza shop many times over the years but it was always at an odd hour when they were closed, so I took this as an opportunity to check it out. Johnny Napkins is a chain of pizza shops (they recently opened a location in Cranford) and it definitely has a sense of humor about itself. When you walk in the walls are painted with various characters including their mascot "Johnny Napkins". It really adds a fun feel to the space. They have plenty of seating including large tables with about 6-8 tall seats around them and a bar where individuals can sit and eat. Shakers with garlic salt, pepper and more are spread throughout the eatery so you can spice up your slices. The main counter has a glass case with a bunch of square and round pies on display. I wound up getting a slice with mushrooms and a BBQ chicken slice. Service was super friendly and efficient. These folks were *busy* with a constant stream of walk-ins and phone calls at the same time. I was very impressed. My slices came quickly and I sat at the counter to enjoy my food. The slice with mushrooms was excellent. Nicely heated up, a good crust and just the right amount of cheese. It was not too salty and had plenty of flavor. The BBQ chicken slice however featured a thicker crust (even though it was a slice from a round pie). I prefer a thinner crust but this was still good with a nice chew. The only reservation I had were the chunks of chicken themselves. They were a *tad* dry but this was the last slice on the platter, so I imagine it had been there for a minute (and I knew this, so this one's on me). I'm really glad I stopped into Johnny Napkins. Now I know it's a good slice and will definitely visit any of their locations in the future.
