GAH!! This is the most wonderful situation - vegan food truck located inside local brewery! Although I don't drink, I do enjoy vegan food and siting inside (Chetco brewery does have non-alcoholic options including kombucha). Open entering we were helpfully directed to the back where the magic happens. The menu options are varied, including sandwiches, wraps, salads, specialty items, and specials. Ordering process: approach truck, peruse menu, order at window. Food is delivered to your table. You can also sit first and order from the table via a helpful QR code. The soup special was a truly outstanding walnut pesto sweet potato soup, which I subbed as a side. I tried the soup first, and was blown away, certain that nothing could be more spectacular. Then I tried my Grilled Ruuuben. Oh. Holy smokes. This thing is magical. I've tried quite a few vegan Reubens in my day, and Off the Wagon has the best - hands down. Something about the combination of house-made seitan, grilled onions, sauerkraut, melty cheese, and dressing transforms this sandwich into pure heaven. My dining companions enjoyed their choices which included the burger (substituting the chicken patty for the Beyond patty) and the Tofurky Club. I'm considering a campaign to encourage Off the Wagon to move to Kentucky so I can enjoy this Ruuuben with some frequency. Truly the stuff dreams are made of. read more

We came here from out of town because we are vegan and it caught our eye. 1st- the people very very kind. 2nd- the food was amazing and the price was great. 3rd- my vachos had an excessive amount of black beans more, a lot more than all the other ingredients. A food truck parked inside a brewery & tap room ... why not? The very nice woman patiently waited until we figured out what we wanted. We split a Vegan Wrap, a Vachos Wrap, and a bowl of the Soup of the Day (Smoky Pumpkin & Tomato Bisque). The soup was really tasty, and the smoky flavor was not overwhelming (my husband hates that). The Vegan Wrap was "wetter" than the Vachos Wrap, but they were both really delicious and filled with bean & veggie goodies. My one wish was for a side of spicy salsa. It would have really added a nice kick to the otherwise delicious but toned down flavors. (This is more true of the Vegan Wrap than the Vachos Wrap, as the Vachos already had some sort of interesting flavor to it). Both wraps have salsa listed as an ingredient, but neither of us realized it was anything other than some diced tomatoes.) A few things to note: For takeout, they charge 50c per container, so we paid $2 for 2 wrap containers, a soup container, and a bag to hold them. The Vachos Wrap includes Cilantro Slaw, but we said yes to 'Cilantro Lime Cream', sort of a Vegan Sour Cream, not knowing (or caring) that it cost $1 extra. Except we didn't see anything like that, so we think she forgot to add it; oops. We think the Cilantro Slaw was there, but there are so many ingredients it's hard to pick that one out. Service was great, and it took only about 10 minutes from ordering until we had our food. Prices seem reasonable, though my husband felt the soup was a bit high for the size. For just $2 more, we could have instead split another wrap, or the tacos. 4.5*, rounded up because the service was so friendly. Edit: Learned the secret of the Cilantro Lime Cream during my next visit. It's in the name, stupid: LIME. So it's not white, it's a light green. It was indeed in my Vachos Wrap last visit, too, but this time I got it on the side (along with more salsa). The "cream" adds a nice tangy flavor to the wrap that I really enjoy. Also tried the tempeh tacos. Delish, to be sure, but messy to eat compared to the wraps. read more

While on vacation in Gold Beach I quickly found out that unless I wanted a weekend of French fries there was really nothing for a vegan to eat in the area. Then I found Off the Wagon and angels rejoiced, heavens sang and my trip was redeemed! The Vachos were just excellent. The cheeze sauce is made by the owner and is a cashew based cheeze that is packed with flavor and covered with black beans, salsa, jalapenos and olives. I also tried the pretzel bites and they were super tasty but the cheeze dip was the same as the vacho cheeze so the flavor profile didn't quite match. Finally, I had the cheesecake. I haven't had a cheesecake in over 3 years and this was soooooo good. Thanks for having a gem in the middle of a vegan food desert! read more

I am so grateful for these people!!! This is our top choice when we come to Brookings. Ate here three times in the last week and my wife and I just love it. I recommend calling in your order. They are currently open 5 days a week and close early so find their current hours and plan ahead. Every time I picked up food, people were bustling around working hard because this type of food is very prep heavy. We are not pure vegans but find it SO HARD to find food while traveling that has a ton of veggies and is not super carb heavy. Everything on the menu we tried was great. This is a vegetarian's DREAM when on the Oregon coast where it's exceedingly difficult to find anything vegetarian friendly let alone vegan. My husband and I had the lasagna, mock duck curry and the pretzel bites. Everything was made fresh and was well worth the Eleanor while we sipped on some good beers. In a world where omnivores are catered to everywhere, it's nice to see one place that everyone can eat at. Our lasagna was gluten free and incredible. The mock duck curry was probably our favorite. Total comfort food without being heavy. And the service was so lovely. Maybe it's because I'm from Los Angeles where most waitstaff would much rather be the next Tom Cruise than give you a smile, but everyone was SO kind and helpful here. We ran into one of the servers at a beer bar the next day and ended up spending most of the evening with him. It just felt like a special place with lovely food and warm people. Maybe more animal-free food and good beer could make the world a happier, kinder place if Off The Wagon & Chetco Brewing are any indication. read more

First let me start with saying this place itself is super cool. You can sit in the Chetco brew house and watch guys make beer. And now the food... We had the best nachos ever, vegan or not. The chili was delicious and the pretzel bites were fire! Bar has an amazing selection of beers on tap. Last but not least, the staff is awesome. John and Big Hoss made us feel very welcome. Being a mixed couple, it seems to be a difficult thing to do in many areas. Everyone here seemed to be very genuine and kind-hearted. My husband and I stopped at Off the Wagon on our way through Brookings, and we couldn't be more glad that we did! We shared the Vachos and Focaccia Panini, both of which were absolutely delicious and filling. We contemplated grabbing another Panini to go. The beer and cider from the brewery next door paired perfectly with our meals. This place is very dog friendly! The food truck and brewery employees offered our dog water and spoiled her with treats. The food truck is located within the Chetco Brewery. It is great food at reasonable but not cheap prices. I'm on an ultra low fat, vegetarian diet and they were happy to suggest menu items that fit my diet. Food was extra-ordinary. We had a wrap and the enchilada casserole. Food was prepared quickly and served hot. Staff was very friendly and helpful. COVID precautions were followed. We look forward to returning the next time we pass through Brookings! read more

They top red and blue tortilla chips their house made cashew cheese sauce and mounds of delicious toppings including fresh salsa, jalapenos, and green onions; a perfect pairing with a pint of Chetco Effect Pale Ale!
