We didn't go all the way in but there seems to be plenty of space for family and on a Saturday, it didn't seem that packed. Not pictured is the cinnamon roll and the reason is because IT WAS SO GOOD IT DIDN'T MAKE IT! Probably the best cinnamon roll we've had in a long time! Solid brunch restaurant that serve both Mexican and American food. They have a cinnamon roll that is popular and can be served as a French Toast plate option. They have a specials sign up front and it's worth taking a look I opted for the cinnamon roll with a side of hash browns and a coffee. Everything was pretty good and you'll be happy picking this spot as a solid breakfast option. Service was top notch here , the interior is well decorated and when we visited they were playing indie/ alternative rock music which was a nice vibe. They have a bar area and serve a variety of beers on taps and popular drinks like micheladas and mimosas. Price is really good everything is sized with large portions. It can get packed on the weekends and parking is limited in the area. I suggest coming early or be willing to wait a while for a table. read more

In my breakfast era and trying all the Ventura spots. Art's is at the top. Went on a busy Saturday. We sat the bar to get a quick seat and indulged in maybe the best breakfast ever. Everything was on point. Ordered the California egg white omelette, three breaky + pancake! Hash browns were crisp, good biscuit, and sourdough, but leave room for the German pancake! The pancake is legit. Thin, flavorful and what dreams are made of. Service is the best. Since we were at the bar we saw lots of action but were frequently checked on as well as coffee refills. Order this as you will have plenty to take home for to-go as your second meal. Also grabbed the special strawberry margarita. Flavor definitely had more tequila than strawberry which got the morning going! Parking: There's a dedicated lot for the diner around the side and back. Lots of spaces! However, it was packed! Went to Art's on a Saturday morning. Parking wasn't an issue, they have a parking lot and there's plenty of street parking around. Went in and there was about a 20 min wait but there were seats open at the bar so we sat there. We were ready to order but the waitress didn't come for a while but it was also a busy time for them. We got our chilaquiles and cinnamon roll pretty quickly after ordering. Chilaquiles were solid but the cinnamon roll was so disappointing. Only the middle part was soft, the outer part was hard to cut with the knife and was too hard. I stopped eating it. The overall vibe was good, lots of families and friends meeting up. I'm really beside myself with this one. A piece of glass was found tucked between the two pancakes I ordered. I'd eaten only less than half and took the leftovers home. Went for a snack of them, and lifted one to pour real maple syrup on the bottom pancake I have at home and there it was tucked in the middle. How does a shard of glass tucks itself in between two pancakes like that. This was edited per Yelp request. Complaints will be filed with health department and police. Also to note for those who are sober: i witnessed bartender using drink shakers between drink mixing, unrinsed and unwashed, to get ice from the well, which contaminates ice with alcohol. (I'm certified, retired bartender, and this is a huge no no). Adding another edit: also witnessed bartender set a glass under beer tap, turned on beer tap, and walked away. Guests next to me called their attention to it. Then denied even opening the tap and claimed the tap was broken. That inability of a staff member to admit doing something wrong is not going to inspire me to reach out to the owner to complain about finding a shard of glass tucked between two pancakes. read more

The place itself was very popular even at 9am on a Saturday! We got the breakfast burrito, huevos rancheros, and the cinnamon bun. Portion sizes are HUGE (we couldn't finish). If we visit again I'd share a main. The cinnamon bun was definitely the star of the show!! If you get a mimosa, you get a pretty big glass so beware of your driving. I drive up & down Thompson Blvd in Ventura a lot, for business & pleasure & I have never paid much attention to all the businesses that are on this street since I'm so busy. Well, this Sunday my Hubby & I were on our way to Ventura Music Hall so he could pick-up some food for the week from Ruff House BBQ, but I DO NOT EAT MEAT! So my hubby promised to get me food close by, since another business on the street was closed, but had accepted my take out order thru Yelp. My hubby & I noticed the long line of people waiting at Art's Corner Cafe, so I told him I'll settle for breakfast there. Unfortunately, I could not order through their website, as their ordering system was down for maintenance. I called twice before I reached a person because they were extremely busy. I ordered a veggie scramble, with plain sour dough toast, and extra crispy O'Brien potatoes. My Hubby walked over to get my food, while he waited for his BBQ order. I opened up my food packages & the food was still hot. The scramble was good, it could be better, it just needed more salt, IMO. The potatoes were good. I dumped the whole thing of salsa & pico de gallo on my food. IT WAS SO GOOD! Then I had the toast & dipped it into this delicious berry preserve! Omg! I have no idea if it was house made or store bought, or maybe I was just that FRKN HUNGRY, but it was AMAZING! I used 2-3 pieces of my toast as a vehicle to get those preserves in my mouth! I could drink it! I'm only giving this place 4 stars because of the omelet & I am sure it's a much better dining experience if I ate my breakfast there, so that just means I'll have to go back! read more

I was so excited because I heard reviews. It took awhile for them to come to our table to take our order but I thought the food would make up for the poor customer service. We had asked for the "famous" cinnamon roll to come out first because we were hungry and it was passed lunch time. When the food arrived my fries were completely cold. We never got the cinnamon roll and I told the waitress since we didn't get it we no longer wanted it but it was still on our bill. This is clearly one of the "in" places for locals - what we often look for. They use the Toast check-in system for their waitlist. This is fine, except that we somehow got dropped from the list. Fortunately, we got a text letting us know so we could correct the error with the hostess. Service was really good, but we were never sure who our server was (one person took drink order, another took food order, another brought food, another checked in, another took our payment). The reason for the drop in stars? These were the absolute worst gluten free pancakes we've ever experienced. They were dense, hard, and flavorless. The person who ordered them never uses much syrup, but she poured the entire ramekin of syrup on them trying to give them moisture and flavor. At the end, she gave up eating them only 1/4 of the way through. Their potatoes were seasoned very well, but each of us who had them found that more than half were almost raw. One other thing to note - there is almost no parking here. We ended up having to park two blocks away. This is likely one spot in Ventura that we will not return to. read more

Went here with our relatives who are from Ventura, who recommended this breakfast spot. I am glad they brought us here here. I never had a breakfast sope, so I tried it was fantastic. It was served with chorizo and eggs. My wife had a chile verde omelette, it was a little bit salty but she enjoyed too. The service is great, all the staff is friendly and treat you like family. I can tell that this place is a favorite among the locals. I think they have two locations, but they are named differently. It was busy, but not too loud or overwhelming. The service was phenomenal. We were greeted with kindness by the waitresses and immediately got us seating despite it being a busy morning/afternoon. Looking back at the pictures from Google reviews, the layout looked old but surprisingly they renovated everything and looks new and vibey. One small problem is the parking and how crowded it feels inside. The food itself was pretty good. I was hoping the burrito would be really tasty but the eggs were a bit dry and I didn't taste much chorizo. The hash browns were super crispy though. My boyfriend got the Famous Corner Cakes and those do NOT disappoint, I wish I got those instead.
