The burgers was soggy af. It was your basic burger with the bottom bun was so soggy. I also had the parm garlic wings, which were were dry. Been coming here since I was 7 years old as my family has vacationed here at the Homestead Resort for all that time. Now that I have my own children it's reminiscently poetical to bring my family here as well. This has always been the "go-to" for a delicious breakfast and great bar grub in GA. Its expensive, but what isn't in Glen Arbor?! I will say the 3 star rating stems from It's been lacking in Customer Service and food quality the last few times in for us. Art's will always hold a significance for me. I have plenty of tee shirts and merchandise to demonstrate my loyalty to this establishment throughout the last 30 plus years. Heck, even my daughters and wife have multiple shirts and hoodies to wear with pride. Also, I have no problem with their no credit card policy and in many ways support this business decision. But for the love of all that is wholly and precious, can we please get some friendlier, less entitled, genuine folks to work here!! "Dave" who works the front outdoor tent and takes names on the tablet, why so grouchy? I get it, as I overheard you telling the grill cooks inside, when sharing with visiting patrons to "not go far" and then they disappear only to comeback and complain they were never notified, is completely frustrating!! But come on, man! Crack a smile now and again or just fake it. Everyone seems so put out to work there and the complaining I overheard from other waitstaff about fellow dining patrons while eating was unprofessional and just plain hateful. To owner: Tim Barr, please change some of these attitudes. I guess, that's all. Food can be "hit or miss" and even considering the Covid times, consistency in ones craft, especially in food services is key. For those who have earlier commented about good gluten free options, there much have been a change in the business as they informed us upon arrival that there are zero actual gluten free options except a plain salad, no meat. Related, I was not told there is a separate more limited menu for outdoor dining, even after we willingly waited an hour for a table based on the online evidence of gluten free options. By only mentioning it was an allergy, here on yelp there are reportedly accommodating with gf, I was informed by the waitress that they grill all of the meat on the same exact spot on the grill as the buns and there was no way they could give it a basic wipe. SO, celiacs beware that there is nothing you can eat in this restaurant except salad greens and don't even think about adding any meat to it. First, they deal with cash which is fine by me. Second, I only had breakfast here. Three dollars for coffee is very steep. I can roast, grind, and brew my own for cheaper and get a better cup of coffee. Shame for gouging as that is what it is. I deal with coffee and this coffee isn't anything special. The eggs, fried potatoes were okay. My son enjoyed the potatoes he stole from me. The sausage was fatty and tasted good but nothing special. The toast was nice. My wife enjoyed the different jams. The Pig Cakes were a disappointment for us. The malted pancakes tasted no different than normal cakes and the sausage in the pancakes, though novel for us, wasn't anything special. The biscuits with sausage gravy were met with mixed reviews ranging from meh to not bad. The waitress was wonderful. I loved checking out Art's Tavern while we were in Glen Arbor. We stayed at The Homestead for our anniversary and decided to hop around to different places. We wanted beer and burgers so that's what we decided on. I ordered the Bacon Cheese Burger, my Husband ordered the Reuben. We had a small appetizer of wings as well with cold beer. It was a perfect anniversary night in my opinion! Food was served in a timely manner and the staff were very friendly and welcoming as we had never been there before. Pretty delicious diner food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and with a great atmosphere inside and out. I have had all three meals here (not in the same day!) due to the fact they are one of the only shops in town. I have yet to find better pancakes for breakfast, the mimosas are made perfectly (not too much juice and a healthy pour of champagne), the house-made jams are all fantastic, and the eggs are perfect. Lunch/dinner you can't go wrong with a burger; I also have had decent salads (though this is not where they shine) and I do enjoy the onion rings. Great beer selection, wine isn't bad. Service is typically good, nothing special. As many have noted, they are cash only but have an ATM on site. We will continue to dine here when we visit Glen Arbor! read more

Stopped at Art's last Friday for a mid-day drink and app. The food is great, as always! We tried the bean burger and, added the chipotle mayo. I highly recommend, if you want to do something different than the original burger. The bean burger is packed with flavor. I have had the famous meat burger almost every time, so I had to do something different. Drinks were also great. Had the Bloody Mary and it has the perfect amount of spice. COVID Update: My wife and I decided to journey out to a restaurant since quarantine started. Art's was open so it was a no-brainer. When we arrived they had patio and indoor seating, all social distant compliant. Only have to wear a mask when you are not seated. Also, everything is single use except the silverware. We ate here three times on our week long stay in the area. It was perfect ever time! Boober was funny and friendly and thankfully they really take Covid precautions seriously! The outside seating was comfy and they had warmers in the back tent. But the food! Everything we ate was great. Over all the meals we had the Cheeseburger with onion rings, the turkey BLT with the chipotle aioli, tater tots, Swiss mushroom burger, Bacon cheeseburger, Blonde Burger, and the chicken jalapeño soup. Seriously the best burgers I've had, but my favorite was the soup and the people who work there. While traveling through north, we consulted Yelp and decided to have dinner here. We walked in and it was jammed packed and only one table left, seating for four... unfortunately there was six of us... Luckily, this family of six just finished, after waiting about five minutes we set down and reviewed the menu. They had Labatt Blue's on tap... so got that... we started out with tater tots and loaded fries... once we got our beer, we placed our orders... I went with Bacon cheeseburger with mushroom, added grill onion to it with onion rings. Then as a group, we ordered the 12in pizza. After they took our order, they asked if we wanted to move to bigger table, which was nice of them... From our new table, we had our starters... the loaded fries were good, but they the meat sauce they put on there was very watery. The fries were all soggy, but it was still good. You can't go wrong with tots! As for the burger, it wasn't anything special... it got it's job done, which was to fill me up :) The onion ring... pre-made frozen onion rings fried up, can't complain, goes well with the beer. As for the pizza - well, when someone heats up a frozen pizza and charges $13 for it... there's something wrong with that... It was Saturday when we went and there was a 'live' band that was playing there, not sure if the do this on the weekdays... but it was loud inside. So happy art's is still open during covid. We had 4 people and got seated about 20-30 minutes after putting our names in. They had some great beers on draft! We put in our order for 4 main dishes and we're going to order a basket of onion rings and a basket of fries. The waiter said that a basket is pretty big so he wasn't sure if we wanted all of those. We followed his suggestion and he gave us a basket with 1/2 onion rings and 1/2 fries which ended up being enough. He saves us from ourselves! We arrived at a good time, because when we left, the place was filled with people and there were people waiting for tables. We ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and a hamburger, which they are known for. The burger was really good. There were lots of local beer options and a few cocktails on the menu. I've had BETTER BURGERS served to me for HALF the price at a swim club snack stand (who would've given me FRIES with it) ... It takes another 15 minutes after finishing to get the check ... BUT, they need to get rid of the plastic or we will not come back. There are so many paper options for take out these days and they need to get with the program, being a block from pristine Lake Michigan.
