I am so glad to see what Asadero has become. The nicest couple opened the first location in a rundown building on West Hill of Kent. They served such great food that success was only just. They now have two very upscale Mexican Steakhouses in Ballard and Kent. The meat quality and the cooking skills rank them with the best steakhouses around. Things like the handmade tortillas, salsas, pickled onions,, and beans elevate their tacos to heavenly perfection. You cannot find a better Carne Asada anywhere. read more

Hands down one of the best places to get steak around. We came here for a little anniversary dinner, and though we didn't know what to expect it was a great experience! Our server was amazing. Quite knowledgeable of the menu and had some great recommendations to get us started. The drinks menu was really good and the old-fashioned cartel was exactly what I needed. Ambience. It was pretty loud in there, and outside of the crying baby and allowed kiddos (Halloween weekend) it wasn't loud enough to where we couldn't hear each other's conversation. This restaurant was recommended by one of the bartenders at our hotel, and it was such a great choice! My boyfriend and I absolutely loved this place. Unfortunately, we were visiting from California, but have been talking about this place ever since! We ordered the New York Strip Wagu with a side of the Papa Loca and Broccolini. FIVE STARS! The food was so delicious and amazing! The ambiance was great! We went on a Thursday night and it was very busy, but they still managed to seat us fairly quick. Our waitress was also so amazing and kind! She was also super helpful in explaining the menu to us. Probably the best steak experience I've had. One of my all time favorite restaurants.

Delicious food and excellent service. I go to Cuerno Bravo often in Tacoma so was expecting the same experience. Food came out great but my only complaint was the American cheese that came on the burger when the menu clearly says cheddar. Why have such a great burger and ruin it with processed cheese? Not to mention the burger is $20 and comes with no sides. It should be one of the best burgers with that high price point but failed with cheap fast food cheese in my opinion. Other than that small misleading detail food was great. I liked this location but I think I'll stick with Cuerno Bravo. The restaurant was small dark and cozy. Celebrated my Son's 30th Birthday there yesterday. Our reservation was 3:15pm, by the time we found parking, it was 3:45. To my Surprise, was the phone call I received while driving trying to find parking. Thank you for doing that Asadero! However, when we did finally arrive, and told the greeter why we we were late, she told us that they were booked, and that we would need to finish our dinner by 5:00 pm. Major Downer! That really put me in a bad mood. No, I'm so sorry that happened. No compassion what so ever! Very rude on her part, but we sat anyway because I didn't want to eat at another spot in busy Ballard on a Saturday night. Lucky for her, our waiter kind of saved the evening. He was courteous, kind, and compassionate after hearing our story of frustration trying to find parking. He offered us some Mint Tea on the house and was very attentive, professional, and served us quickly since our time was short due to being late for our reservation. Long story short. If you choose Asadero's in Ballard, and it's your 1st time to this location, and you drive all the way from Sumner, WA to dine at this place. We went to Asadero on Sunday as a party of 3 with a 12:45 reservation. We had a wonderful time here. While we normally frequent Asadero in Kent, this location is wonderful as well. We started our dining with a Spicy Mezcalita (margarita with mezcal-this packs a decent punch of spice!) and their Pear Brûlée drink-we think this was a seasonal drink. This drink surprised us-it was light and delicate. For our appetizers, we split their house bone marrow, Halibut tacos and Popa Jasper. Their bone marrow is our go to appetizer-it is always so savory, buttery and delectable. It was hard not to lick the bones clean! The Papa Jasper was a new one for us-this baked potato came with cream, green onions and bacon bits. This was HUGE-very comfortable to split between three hungry people. This was really good with their house salsas and pickled onions that they provided on the side. The halibut tacos were fresh and delightful. We were unsure of whether to try seafood at a steakhouse, and we are so glad we did. These were refreshing and delightful. We split our three entrees amongst our party. The La Carne Asada-good as always. I love that this entree is more like a flight. There are so many flavors here-the beef, the chorizo, the green onion stalk and the cactus paddle. 100% A5 Kagoshima-we were slicing pieces and cooking them to our individual preferences at the table. We liked the ritual of pressing the rosemary in, salting it and then putting it on the hot stone to cook. Between this and the Miyazaki cut, we would choose the Miyazaki. But this was very good. El Zabuton-we had this medium rare and it was excellent. The quality of their food, their location and their choices were outstanding. This was an experience for us of pure indulgence. Best steaks in Seattle with even better service! Lovely restaurant with a great vibe.

Came here on a weekend late in the evening and it was surprisingly busy. We had a reservation so there wasn't any wait time. Waiters and staff overall were friendly. I decided to get the vacio and the seasonal vegetables. I ordered the steak rare and it came as rare as I expected. The stone plate it came on was sizzling hot though so small bits of oil were flying around. The steak was pretty good, I liked having the salsa with it. Felt like it was a little larger than the 14 oz that I was expecting. But not complaining. The seasonal vegetable was just asparagus and it was okay. I think I should have gone with their special which was carrots. read more

We had a waiter, male - facial hair - stocky build, that was out of line with an unnecessary aggression and unwanted physical contact towards me. I was waiting while my wife used the restroom with my 2 month old daughter at our table. I had just received the check. The waiter comes up from behind me, grabs my shoulder aggressively and says "next table is here" and then walks away. We were polite the whole time and never rushed him even when our drinks took a while. I assume his anger was because we had appetizers and drinks during happy hour and not a full meal (we got the ok to do this beforehand from the other service staff). We didn't finish the cauliflower because it was too spicy and that seemed to make him unhappy as well. I reached out to Asadero management via their website submission form to request help addressing the issue. They never responded. read more

The baked potato with brisket is INCREDIBLE! We keep returning just for that. Always crowded since the tables are small but a good energy.

Outstanding value and a great vibe, esp. mid-week when things aren't as crazy busy (though you should still make reservations). Service was top-notch. On the meats front, there really isn't anything for me to add above and beyond the existing reviews. They know their stuff and have something for everyone, even those who don't want to go overboard with excess quantity: just order some of the highest quality (Japanese A5) Wagyu. Yes, it's exquisitely heavy, but the portion sizes are much smaller and you won't have to deal with the overwhelming thought of a 48oz long bone tomahawk for one staring back at you from the table (this is what I normally order when available at any steakhouse BTW). They are a bit weak - intentionally - on the veggies. But that's not a problem for most folks. I was told there was a point in the past where they actually didn't serve any veggies at all. We ordered the A5 table side Japanese ribeye which you cook on a hot stone at your table. It was a butterbomb - melt in your mouth absolutely delicious (if that's you're thing). Pro tip: ask for a new hot stone if yours cools down! The carne asada was delicious as well. My only qualm is that we didn't really have enough tortillas. Would've loved two more. Asadero Ballard is a cute lil spot in Ballard, about a 20 minute Uber ride from downtown Seattle. They have reservations available online and it was pretty available for weekday dinners. I received a recc here for their wagyu/steaks and it truly did not disappoint. Service was amazing. I ordered the ribeye medium rare & it came out on a sizzling plate. Super juicy, cooked perfectly. Visiting from Bay Area and trying some steakhouses on our vacation in Seattle. This is hands down my favorite steak if not restaurants during my visit. It's an energetic, yet darker, casual environment with the skeleton girl who I assume is La Catrina evidently taking center stage of recognition in this restaurant. Our server was amazing in the attention and detail she gave, but also with such a friendly, conversational tone. Make sure you get your reservations in as it can get extremely busy fast. For appetizers we ordered the Guacamole Casero that came with tostadas and crostinis. For the mains we ordered the 30oz Delmonico, which was rich, tender, fatty, and delicious all at once. The accompanying salsa and sides of Arroz De La Abuela and Rajitas Poblanas tied everything together in a splendid symphony of flavors. The flan was a bit disappointing in texture similar to cheesecake, but everything else was perfect. Whenever I come back, I will come here again. We made a reservation at 8 and got there 15 minutes late due to traffic. The lady was nice to get us seating, though she said she would timebox it for about 50 minutes. This sounded fine except that the servers took maybe 20 minutes before taking our order, we ended up being there for an hour and a half anyways since we waited another 20 minutes after finishing our food before being able to pull someone over to get the check. Felt like unnecessary pressure was there, which dampened the meal a bit. We ordered the Papas Locos, Tableside Ribeye A5 Wagyu and one of the American wagyu cuts, and a couple of drinks. Everything was good, and it was nice to be able to cook on the hot plates ourselves. The American cut was nothing impressive, but the A5 wagyu stood out, as it should. I had a grand time eating slices of the buttery goodness. The drinks were well made with interesting flavors, and the potato was good to clear out the greasiness from the meat. Also really liked the pico, other salsas were not my favorite (but I have high standards from Texas), but the presentation was nice. read more

As far as steakhouses go, this place is hard to beat - The quality is incredible, i can't think of a steak I've ever that's better than the Ultra Filet. This along with the fantastic sides, fantastic drinks, and the overall high quality service, this place is extremely welcoming as long as you are comfortable with $100 - $150 for a typical dinner. Do keep in mind that this place is basically impossible to get into without a reservation, but if you don't mind planning a bit in advance it's worth the price! My wife and I stopped here for a birthday dinner. Overall it was okay, I probably would not repeat. Parking was difficult to find as is common in the city, but we found a good spot towards the water a couple blocks away. For an appetizer we got the guac and chips, which was great. For steaks we opted for a new york strip and a ribeye. The server was very knowledgeable on the steaks and all of the sauces that come with the steak. The steak come on a hot stone that stays hot the whole time so you can cook the steak to you liking if it's not done enough. As far as the steaks go, they were okay. Nothing special about them, for the price I would have expected some higher quality meat. I actually enjoy steaks I buy at the butcher better.
