Very convenient place in the Asian Art museum. It was easy to grab food throughout my visit at the museum. The pho is decent; I got the pho and though the bowl was small for the valve, the broth was warming and comforting. The chicken was grilled nicely. It's not the typical pho noodles but it was good. Service is quick and friendly. Tables are cleaned. Bus your own trays at the end. Overall, it's convenient and gets the job down. I'm all for supporting this. read more

I'm glad this place should get in our neighborhood but in Civic Center, you could get much better Vietnamese food and fusion Asian food at a better price. I will say the entire staff that was working here from the cooks to the food preparer to the girl at the cash register they were exceptionally nice, professional and friendly And helpful. I had the Mrs. Jones the pork was OK with a very pork pig flavor and it had a aftertaste of and the salmon salad. The salad tasted like ingredients were in it without the soup and the salmon was tasty. I'll be at small portion. This local fast food chain outpost had a small menu without a big selection for vegetarians (you will likely be ordering the one suggested option). In addition to the basic menu, you can create your own box (what would be a bowl if they served it in bowls) with rice or cold noodles, a protein (not very warm and chewy tofu), vegetables (slightly undercooked broccoli), and sauces (very tasty! These bring it together.) They also have boba, kid friendly options, and pre-made grab-and go-selections. The cafe was clean, had friendly staff, and we ate all of our food and felt nourished. It is not a fancy place, and it has museum cafe prices, but it is a good Civic Center option. It was a rainy day, but the terrace looked lovely. read more

The "Miss Jones" is my go-to. I should really try other things but what can I say - I like what I like! I've visited with colleagues who've said their Ox Box and salmon salad were solid. Service is friendly and the food comes pretty quick if they're not slammed with tons of guests. When there are many diners in, the volume can get pretty high and you'll have to raise your voice and listen a little bit harder to have a conversation. There are some drinks on offer with free refills and my go-to is the iced Vietnamese coffee. I drink most of it during my meal and ask for a refill before I leave. read more

It's a good deal $59 4 entrees 2 appetizer rolls 4 cookies Added spicy cucumbers. Everything was good. The sauces for the rolls were a little strange. Visited the AAM and saw this spot inside for a quick snack and caffeine fix. Cashiers were very friendly. Nice and clean inside. We ordered two Viet iced coffees, one with boba, a fresh shrimp roll, and The Workout Box with grilled chicken. The roll was self serve and everything else was delivered very quickly to our table. Shrimp roll was fresh but the peanut sauce wasn't my fave. The Workout Box was really good, with lots of crunchy veggies and brown rice. Workers came out to check on us; great service. We had high hopes for this place, given that it's in the Asian Art Museum but they really need to pay better attention to food quality and cooking. We both got dishes with salmon and the center of the salmon fillets were pink and cold. The rest of the fillet was undercooked and slimy. I'm not usually a huge fan of museum restaurants or cafes, as they're often overpriced with a poor selection. However, my recent experience at Asian Box was quite good. The first thing that really sets it apart from a normal museum eatery is that Asian Box is actually its own chain. This means you're getting a taste of an experience that survives on its own merits. The basic fare here is a variety of bowls, with fresh veggies, rice, etc. You get to mix and match ingredients. Kudos for the curry tofu option! But beyond that the service is more on par with a standalone restaurant. The employee at the counter was really helpful explaining which boba could be made with almond milk. And finally, this is a place where you actually don't mind sitting and enjoying your food. I saw plenty of groups of people eating full on meals. So if you're hungry before or after your visit at the museum, stop on by! read more

Love... Love... Love to see such a great cafe in a museum! We stopped in for lunch while visiting the museum and I'm so glad we did. The staff is wonderful! So cheerful and just really appeared to enjoy their job, I love that. The gentleman who took our order was really sweet and had wonderful customer service, you don't experience that a lot anymore. The lady who delivered our food to our table was so sweet, a smile with service is so missed and I appreciate seeing that again. Now, let's talk about the food. The boba was delicious!!! The food was yummy and perfect portions for the price. You always wonder what size your food will be at a museum AKA tourist attraction and it was perfect. The cafe is very clean and they have reusable bowls and plates which I appreciate. All in all this was a wonderful cafe and we really enjoyed the food and experience while visiting the museum. read more

I miss the old Asian Art Museum Cafe, but this is a great addition to the area. Asian Box serves the same great items as at its other locations, from inside the museum. You don't need to pay entry to the museum to get to the restaurant; just tell them you're going straight to the cafe. read more

Had Door Dash delivery for the chicken with all toppings and was disappointed. It did not look like the door dash pictures and the amount of chicken was really small. Small cut up pieces that didn't amount to much. Flavor is good with peanut sauce and they give pickled vegetables and bean sprouts and I had the brown rice. Not worth the 19.50 price. read more

We were just weary after a long museum session, and didn't expect anything but standard museum cafe fare. But we were so delightfully wrong! This is a very good Vienamese restaurant, well able to hold its own in both the neighborhood and the art context. Had an excellent pho and a stellar banh mi with lemongrass pork, yumm.. Ordered the workout. Chicken is under seasoned and bland. Way too much vinegar is added to the entire dish. Broccoli is undercooked, bland, and is the reason why children across America hate broccoli. Raw bean sprouts in the add nothing to the dish. Cabbage salad also does not pair well. This place is great. My husband had his first taste of Boba and he just loved it. I thought it was a bit salty and the spring roll with the special had pork and I wasn't expecting that. The lunches were great though maybe a bit heavy on the vermicelli. My husband was just crazy about the whole thing and wants to go back again, so take my complaints with a grain of salt. The pork bowl was mostly gristly meat with some under-seasoned noodles, a few florets of undercooked broccoli, vapid pickled cabbage and carrot shreds, and a gruesome attempt at a seasoned boiled egg.
