Combo and roasted pork sandwiches
Binh P.

The only place I've seen that serves coconut noodles in California. Theirs is a surprisingly large serving. You can add lemongrass beef for an extra $5 and I highly suggest that addition. The noodles are chewy, and the combination of coconut cream and fish sauce is as addictive as it gets. Their beef is so flavorful, so I can imagine their lemongrass beef sandwich will be equally delicious. The noodles are large enough to serve 3 comfortably. I also got their combo and roasted pork sandwich. The roasted pork was better, but it was pretty sweet.

Super small and rough around the edges. But in Little Saigon, I feel like that's a good thing. Some really tasty sandwiches here! Spring Roll: Wrapped fresh to order. Quick long with lots of shrimp. So satisfying! Lemongrass Beef Sandwich: I know pork-based bánh mì are the most traditional, but I always love a beef bánh mì. While most beef versions are grilled beef, theirs was more like a wetter sitr fry. Still very tasty, especially against the crispy veggies and herbs. Nice crusty French bread too. Coconut Noodles: Not listed on their in-person menu, but you can see it online. If you ask in person, they'll make it for you. It was reminiscent of a vermicelli bowl, except with udon-thick noodles and coconut cream mixed in. Still lots of veggies and herbs. And the meat was shredded pork and pork skin. Overall, lots of flavors and textures. I mostly liked it, except for the limp pork skin pieces (prefer crispy pork skin). Vietnamese Iced Coffee: Seemingly brewed to order. Very strong coffee with nice sweetened condensed milk, just what I wanted.

Meatballs Sandwich

This spot makes some seriously good banh mi and the ladies working inside were really friendly. I stopped by because my usual go-to had already closed for the day and I needed a sandwich fix. Glad I gave this place a shot because the food hit the spot. The prices are very reasonable and the banh mi was on point. The sandwich had a great balance of meat and veggies, and the baguette was perfectly toasted. There are a couple of small tables inside if you want to eat there. The space is a little rough around the edges, but that doesn't matter to me when the food is good. I'll definitely be back again. This spot came through when I needed it and honestly impressed me. It's solid, affordable, and just does the job right. Nothing fancy, just good food made well.

Roast chicken bhan mi

I saw that line at Saigon Sandwich... no reason to wait when B&B is right across the street! Friendly service, tasty bhan mi (I had the roast chicken), really hit the spot. Price super reasonable and I could kick myself for not getting the combo!! Just a few tables which is ample as there are a lot of outdoor seating options in the area (in front of 450 Golden Gate is really nice/clean). If you're in LittleSaigon stop in :)

I ordered the tofu bahn mi with extra jalapeños and no mayo. The service was fast -less than 5 minutes -and very friendly, and the sandwich was delicious; warm good sized perfectly crunchy/soft baguette, fresh produce, great proportions. It was exactly the flavors I was craving. Highly recommend!

Absolutely incredible banh mi - easily one of the best I've ever had! I got the combo, and the bread was perfectly toasted: soft on the inside with a satisfying crunch outside. The meats were tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. They've got competitors just a few doors down, but clearly, they're not worried - their food speaks for itself. Delivery was lightning fast too - arrived in just 15 minutes.

I've been scouring the city for some mean tofu bahn mi sandwiches, and behold I come across another one. I've been to L&G next door and am I huge fan, but this place has really good reviews and is open later, so thought I would give it a try. The outside looked unwelcoming, and when I walked in it looked like they were about the close, but they were really nice. It was served hot and and fresh, but lacked crunch so I put it in the toaster oven when I got back. However if you like it softer it's great. The flavors worked, and the tofu was seasoned well with the sauce. I really needed Sriracha and was surprised they don't give any hot sauce, but the guy was nice to offer some leftover ones they had from their own meals, though I felt weird taking them so I just had the Sriracha at home. It was also reasonably sized, but for $8 it was a tad pricey for a sandwich. However not really much to complain about it other than the tofu side of the sandwich being blander than the veggie side of it. For something open late night, not a bad option. They are very nice and has a casual feel to it, but the quality is definitely there. Looking forward to trying it again some time!

I have no complaints! I was just trying to find some food. Found this hole in the spot nearby other banh mi spots ive been to. It is a couple dollar more than some of the neighboring ones but idk after one sandwich here and multiple at the neighboring ones, I might take Bo&Beurre over them. Greeted upon entry; low-key looks confusing on where to order but the workers came out quick and took my order, so they cleared up. Theres some seating and it looks clean to sit. Just know what area this spot is in and what is outside. Other than that, the roasted pork was warm and goood.

Bánh Tằm Bì: Thick Noodles in Coconut Cream Sauce w/ shredded pork skin | $11 (off the menu special)
Cherylynn N.

Bánh Tằm Bì. That's all. The end! J/k! It's not a review unless I'm hitting 5000 max characters and putting peeps to sleep. Bo&Beurre ("beef" in Viet & "butter" in French) opened in August 2024 in a corridor with heavy hitters like Saigon Sandwich and L&G Vietnamese Sandwich but this newcomer is offering a rare, off-the-menu item: Bánh Tằm Bì. A Southern Viet dish of thicccc rice/tapioca noodles in coconut milk + nước chấm (fish sauce) topped w/ shredded pork skin, herbs, and pickled veggies. Based on my search, I believe Bo&Beurre may be the first and only place to bring this dish to the bay (apparently, it's not even available in SoCal). Bo&Beurre is currently open for takeout and limited indoor dining. No outdoor dining. M E N U Array of bánh mì with some housemade meats ($8-$11), gỏi cuốn (spring rolls), and off-the-menu specials: bò kho (beef stew), bún riêu (crab noodle soup), and/or bánh tằm bì (thick noodles in coconut cream sauce). NOTE: For off-the-menu specials, they're not available everyday. Check their IG or send a DM to inquire about availability. There's bottled drinks in the cold case. Iced coffee (cà phê sữa đá), iced thai tea, and spritzers are available off the menu. Free bottled water or soda with a purchase of a bánh mì. CC's and Apple Pay accepted. F O O D * Bánh Tằm Bì: Thick noodles w/ coconut cream sauce, shredded pork skin ($11) - Before mixing: https://tinyurl.com/bdef6una - After mixing: https://tinyurl.com/4h3xmxjj Channeling summer, this is a great cold noodle dish with a medley of flavors and textures. The chewy, bouncy noodles were a nice contrast to the gelatinous pork skin, crisp cucumbers + carrots, refreshing mint + cilantro, and crunchy peanuts + shallots. The coconut sauce is deliciously creamy, sweet, and coconutty balanced by the nước chấm and chili sauce, giving some funk, tang, and heat. The latter is served on the side to doctor up the bánh tằm bì to your liking. The flavor was so unique and addictive...and the leftovers held up well. * Bánh Mì Dặc Biệt: Combo Viet Sandwich ($10): https://tinyurl.com/3m3csyap -Add extra pâté Good ratio of fillings to carbs, the toasted baguette was crunchy and soft with a light flaky crumb (doesn't cut the roof of your mouth) with layers of ham, chả (pork loaf), housemade pork belly, housemade chinese bbq pork, smear of mayo, light smear of rich pâté, punchy pickled veggies, cool cucumbers, cilantro and jalapeno slices (not spicy). The warm fatty bits from the pork belly made it extra tasty. I think they forgot the extra pâté but it's fine (wasn't charged for it). To nitpick, the pickled veggies could have been better distributed so you get acid in each bite. Otherwise, the bánh mì was solid and well-balanced, hitting all the quintessential notes of salty, savory, tangy, sweet, spicy, and umami. If I had to compare it to the other two bánh mì neighboring competitors...they're all different so it depends on your preferences. Using the dặc biệt for comparison basis: Bo&Beurre is the priciest but crafted with housemade meats. Saigon Sandwich is the best value, fully loaded but not traditional with its hard + dense "baguette" and sauciness. L&G is traditional with a light, crackly baguette but with cold cuts only, no chinese bbq pork or pork belly. You can always do a bánh mì crawl to see which one is your fav. S E R V I C E Danny, the owner (?) was very kind. Polite, hardworking aunties (speak little english). I was the only customer at the time so food was ready in 5 minutes. A M B I A N C E Small hole-in-the-wall shop with two café tables. Yes, it's in the TL but this part of Little Saigon is not that bad since it's near government buildings. P A R K I N G Metered street parking. Overall, I really enjoyed my lunch at Bo&Beurre. If you work/live in the area, def check this new local business out. I'm hoping the bánh tằm bì will put them on the map!

Curry Chicken Sandwich
Ben

Absolutely delicious Vietnamese sandwich shop downtown. I've come here multiple times and the food does not disappoint. The banh mi here are so flavorful and I highly recommend the coconut curry chicken and the lemon grass beef. They toast fresh bread everyday so they always have a great crunch to them when eating them. Every time I come here, the spring rolls are a must! These are by far the best and fulfilling spring rolls that I've had in San Francisco. They are definitely worth the try if you haven't!

Insanely good banh mi sandwiches! I tried the lemon grass beef and curry chicken sandwiches. The beef is very flavorful and the chicken is so tender. I am definitely going back for more soon. Danny, the owner, is super sweet. He's been working on hard the restaurant and helping to revitalize the Tenderloin. The inside is comfortable to dine in. I'm excited to see where Bo&Beurre goes!

Pork Belly Sandwich
Abby C.

So good so good so good!!! Gotta be the best sandwiches and spring rolls I've ever had in San Francisco. I ordered both shrimp and pork belly in the spring rolls with their own homemade sweet and savory sauce that I've never had at other places, but it's so good with the spring rolls. The sandwiches are really good as well. They are warm and freshly made and very flavorful. Small, clean space and staffs are nice. Foods totally worth the money! Will come back again.

Tofu Sandwich
Irina N.

Ordered the tofu sandwich and Vietnamese iced coffee. Delivery was super quick. The sandwich was still hot when I got it. Fresh bread and ingredients. Only small thing was that they didn't fill up the coffee to the top. It was still delicious.

Size of bun me!

On the bright side, they still have our favorites: soft-shell crab tomato noodle soup, brisket beef pho, papaya salad, and rice rolls. Overall, the food was tasty. The only miss was the rice rolls--the skin was slightly broken, possibly from being pre-prepped or a small issue with the rice flour ratio. Otherwise, service was great and the space is cozy and enjoyable.
