Ever since I moved from the Bay Area to Houston, I've been searching for chow mein that tastes like what I grew up eating. If you're from the Bay, you know it's just...different. I've tried chow mein and lo mein from a lot of places, but nothing has really scratched that itch. Most of the time, when I'm craving it, I end up settling for Panda Express. While visiting the area, I found Jasmine Garden, and it definitely hit the spot. It's your classic neighborhood Chinese restaurant with all the familiar favorites, and sometimes that's exactly what you need. The food was fresh, flavorful, and satisfied my craving. We went during lunch, and I was pleasantly surprised by how generous the lunch portions were--they're huge, so definitely come hungry or plan on taking leftovers home. The service was friendly, and I appreciated that they served hot tea. We also tried the dumplings. They were okay--not my favorite--but they certainly weren't bad if you're in the mood for them. Overall, Jasmine Garden is a solid spot for comforting Chinese food with generous portions and good service. If you're looking for a reliable place to satisfy your Chinese food cravings, I'd happily recommend it. Nice cozy spot! read more

Prior to the pandemic, my coworkers and I would have lunch at Jasmine Garden a few times a month because it was the best Vietnamese food in the area...and a few of my coworkers were Vietnamese. I had since retired and was no longer in the area until I happened to be in the neighborhood again. I was so happy they were open because I really missed their claypots. One of my all time favorites is the super moist catfish. The sauce that is drizzled over the rice is simply insane!! And when you get to the bottom of the claypot, the remaining crispy and crunchy browned rice is to die for! The best I've had anywhere!! It's better than the claypot rice dishes at the Vietnamese places in San Jose on Story Road...and that's saying a lot!! I only wish they were open for lunch on the weekdays. read more

I really enjoy this place. It's a no frills very authentic Vietnamese spot in the heart of Duboce triangle. The restaurant is very much a family owned/run spot which I enjoy. I gravitate towards their chicken pho but their brisket is also very tasty. Will keep coming back. read more

Nice local viet spot, I'd go back. Food was overall pretty good, I especially like their nuoc mom, it's punchy and sweet, has the addictive quality and can put it on anything. Been wanting to try this spot for a while since I love pho, and it definitely didn't disappoint. I ordered the bun bo hue because I like my broth with some heat, and they were more than happy to accommodate adding freshly cut Thai chili peppers and extra jalapeños just how I asked. The broth was rich, flavorful, and had the perfect spicy kick. Service was very friendly and quick, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Jasmine Garden! The 5 Spice Chicken Pho is some of the best pho in the city. Their fresh spring rolls also are very good if you're looking for an appetizer. It's never busy enough for there to be a long wait which is a shame because I love this spot so much. The servers are also so nice and friendly. Checked out Jasmine Garden with a party of 6 for prime Monday dinner time! We didn't have to wait at all and were seated super promptly. We got the Jasmine Garden Noodle Soup, the BBQ Pork Noodle Soup, as well as the Hue Noodle Soup. We also got the garlic noodles and imperial rolls. The basic pho was super solid and hearty, the broth was flavorful, and the noodles were cooked perfectly! Highly recommend if you're feeling a pho urge. The BBQ Pork Noodle Soup was also super solid, with a more chicken based broth, with the added bonus of coming with a huge amount of BBQ Pork. Would highly recommend for the value alone! The Garlic Noodles and Imperial Rolls were also really yummy, with the garlic noodles coming out a bit on top. Being unexpectedly early for a nearby show, I went looking for food. The first restaurant had a long wait, so I wandered around the corner, and found - Jasmine Garden! No wait, a friendly welcome, and quick service. The fresh spring rolls (Goi cuon) come in a sweet double basket, with a delicious rich peanut sauce. It was a nice low-key start to the evening (especially after gnarly drive into city); now I know where to go before the next show. Looking forward to trying more of the tempting menu! Delicious food, serene ambiance and lovely service. We dined at Jasmine Garden early on Saturday night, about 6:30. By 7:15, it was nicely populated by groups of friends, two moms and their four well-behaved kids, couples and a man dining alone. It was a chilly night so we both had delicious, hot bowls of pho. I had spicy Bo Bun Hue ($15.50) and my son, Pho Dac Biet ($14.50) with a deeply flavorful beef broth, noodles and lots of beef and brisket. We loved the Imperial rolls but the hands down favorite dish we ordered was the beef carpaccio appetizer ($13). Thin slices of beef generously plated with sweet onion, peanuts and herbs. We texted a neighbor to see if he wanted take-away and the two dinners he ordered for himself and his girlfriend said were outstanding (he ordered BBQ pork and seafood clay pot). I came here around 8pm on a Thursday night as a group of 3 and was seated right away. Service was great in general, it was fast and the servers came to give us water quite often. I tried their spring rolls and the BBQ pork and imperial rolls vermicelli bowl. The spring rolls came in a cute little basket and was presented so nicely. The vermicelli bowl was delicious and really large! The pork was seasoned well and the imperial rolls were super crunchy! The imperial rolls were lacking flavor just a little bit but with the fish sauce it's perfect. The portion sizes for all their dishes are pretty large so it is great value. read more

This has always been a reliable neighborhood spot for me since I moved to SF 6 years ago. Not overpriced, great portions, and most of all, the service is amazing! Service was fast. - 4.5/5: one of the best summer rolls I had; the crunch rolls were delicious and they were served in a cute/cool contraption - 3/5: average; had 12. pho ga, with grilled chicken on side and beef broth. The chicken was good and the pho was solid. Noodles seemed overcooked though, but the broth was steaming when served. Supposedly the chicken broth is better though, so I will come back to try. read more

I have been getting my pho here since 2017. This wonderful restaurant has unknowingly nursed me back to health a few times. I used to not eat out much, but the last 2 years especially since my boyfriend and I spend a lot of time in the gym we order from Jasmin Garden at least once a week or more. We usually get 2 pho ga with extra chicken and the crunch roll. These items are where happiness and pure joy live. Pho ga: all the ingredients are fresh, it arrives hot, they separate things so the noodles don't over cook. The broth though! Oh my goodness it is so good! They make real pho bone broth with the star anise and the ginger and it tastes like someone has spent all day pouring their heart and soul into making it. Crunch roll: the most delightful texture, of course fresh ingredients as well. It's like a spring roll but bbq'd pork instead of shrimp. It is one of the best things I've ever ate. (Side note: not on the menu at the moment but please tell me that is temporary? They are sooooooo good!) Other items we have tried that are all fantastic and I recommend: the green beans, five spice chicken, hue noodle soup, garlic noodles and of course the imperial rolls. The top restaurant find so far this year, Jasmine Garden has excellent food served in a low-key neighborhood atmosphere. One of our Vietnamese friends suggested that we try his favorite spot, and we happily let him pick his favorites from the menu. Wow! Good choice. The concensus favorite was the chicken clay pot dish, and the Vietnamese Crepe Banh Xeo was also spectacular. But, picking just those two dishes slights the excellent spring rolls and other dishes that we shared family style. Yes, the food is cooked perfectly. However the standout taste memory is the spices. They were present and active, but never the sole focus of a dish. All of this comes with a friendly, humorous staff and a low-key neighborhood dining space. I give this a strong recommendation and also suggest eating there and not ordering door dash or even take-away. Enjoy eating in a place that feels low-key but slightly different! read more

Came in to dine by myself last week. It was always one of my favorite pho spots in the city and I am so glad it is still around 10 years later. I loved that there were a few other diners who came in by themselves, made me feel less alone and not odd at all. I had the option to order a half order of the spring rolls, which was the perfect starter to go with my soup. Just enough food to be happy and not over full. It's been too long since I've eaten here but after all the mediocre pho in my neighborhood, I needed something I knew was good to fulfill my pho craving. I got the beef pho, side of imperial rolls, and the bbq pork vermicelli plate for my bf for pickup. They were really nice at pickup and my bf said they even wipe your credit card with an alcohol wipe! The beef pho was very well packaged for takeout, with the raw beef, brisket, and onions in one bag and the usual basil, bean sprouts etc. in another. The noodles were separated from the hot broth. Finally a pho broth with flavor, vs. the bland one-note stuff in my hood. I only wish they had more choices for beef pho but it's still a satisfying bowl and pretty large portion. The imperial rolls were still very crispy and well-filled, full of taro which I love. My boyfriend DEVOURED the bbq pork vermicelli, he said it's the best he's had so far in the city. I only got one bite of it but the char taste on the pork was good. He literally couldn't stop talking about it, saying "why haven't you taken me here before?" and "can we go back tomorrow?" Lol. Why have I not been here before? The spring rolls are sandwich thick, and the peanut sauce tastes homemade rather than that syrupy goop you get elsewhere. The five spice chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the noodles were silky smooth, and the vegetables literally could not have been more fresh for both the chicken and the spring rolls. Plus you practically get twice the amount of food you'd get for probably more money elsewhere. And the nice lady and the younger girl who were working the place were so friendly and attentive even tho it was hella busy.
