It's been a few years since I've been here and I can say they have gone downhill. The chicken was dry and stringy and just as another reviewer stated tasted "fishy" - time to change the deep fryer oil people. Egg roll was overcooked dry and shriveled up with no flavor. Funny they had plexiglass put up for Covid protocol at the register and it was greasy and disgusting. If that's the face of the restaurant how dirty is the kitchen? This is our second time here and the food is delicious!! Tonight I ordered a noodle dish with tofu and it came out with chicken. It turns out waitress made a mistake ordering. She felt so bad that she offered to pay for a new dish with tofu to take with me. I refused and told her it was no big deal I would eat the chicken. She then tried to give me money for the mistake which I refused. It says a lot that she was willing to go above and beyond to fix the problem. We will be back!! read more

This place is seriously a sushi gem in Lake County. The prices are good it's rarely super busy and they will surprise you every time with something tasty and beautiful. I love their sweet potato rolls, and always am met with the most genuine and sincere kindness when I have any questions about trying a new roll. I love this place so much. I wholeheartedly trust all of their sushi items and have never even felt close to being sick. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for a few other places in the area but Asian Harbor is so worth it. Came back a second time and ohhh my! This visit blew away the first time! Food was absolutely amazing! Started off with an appetizer of Vietnamese rolls they were strange to look at but tasted wonderful! We then shared a roll. We decided on the pink lady roll, it was the best roll I've ever had! Amazing place and so close to home! This is not just another Chinese restaurant, it's a blend of everything Asian. Our third time back we had the Vietnamese rolls - very light and flavorful. Makes a great appetizer! The Godzilla roll is fast becoming a regular eat for us! Amazing flavor combo and plenty to share. Well worth the price! Went here with my boyfriend today, we were incredibly disappointed. We got terrible service, we we treated like we were a nuisance by the women who brought us our food and took our orders. Everything was served in the togo containers, plastic bag and all. Sashimi was tough and terrible tasting. Vegetable fried rice was over cooked and flavorless. Only part we enjoyed were the cans of soda that we ordered and the tempura (which even that wasn't all that good). Will not be going back, they lost our business. read more

4.5 stars!!! Asian Harbor went up and over my expectations! And because my gf does not eat sushi, we have found a happy medium! The sashimi deluxe was HUGE! 20 pcs. The Dragon on Fire was great! The Manhattan Roll was pure fish which is awesome for us sashimi lovers!! My gf got the fried rice with chicken (she didn't want shrimp) and she loved it. The crab Rangoons where huge and very good! Most of the time at other places, I don't bother because they're little and dried out, not here. I even got the gf to try the Dragon on Fire. Big Plus!! My kids had Edamame and they loved those like usual. The babies ate cucumber, rice, no fish yet. They're not ready! Too little. The only part about the service is I brought kids in and had to ask for extra napkins. But...the multiple waitresses brought the babies out some colorful toys that made happy and the waitresses where very nice and playful. And when we did ask for napkins, they had them right there. The service was wonderful and they were on top of everything!!! We will return!!! 4.5 stars Now some might ask what it would take for me to give a 5 star rating and its perfection! Very rude staff with poor customer service and substandard ingredients. If you are calling in to order for pick-up, get ready for a battle. First, staff doesn't even identify the name of the restaurant nor does she even say hello. Only after you stare at your phone for 2-3 minutes and wondering if you called the right place, you will hear a female barking "What do you want!?!" You will have to repeat the order several times until you lose your own train of thoughts and question your own sanity. She will then read-back the wrong order (only if you are fast enough to request read-back before she hangs up). If you try to make corrections, you will get very irritated and angry "YOU ARE SO CRAZY". Pls don't bother asking for name. She will tell you her name is Tina. According to staff at Asian Harbor, "No Tina here". Oh and don't bother asking for manager. You will be told "No Manger. Wanna complain.. come back tomorrow". For those who want to ask for managers contact number? Don't bother. If you get the number and call as I did, a man will tell you "Why call me?? I worked there only once". Was all this worth it? Absolutely not. Frozen and thawed tuna (apparently more than once) is definitely NOT sushi grade and obviously kept at near room temperature in open too long. Worse yet, it was cheap tuna that is obviously dyed in red and dye was bleeding into plastic-like cold rice. Same goes for the rest of the sushi...No self-respecting Japanese would even identify that as "Sushi", but would question the safety and health hazard due to total lack of freshness. If you have excellent health insurance and bored out of mind while quarantined at home... might want to try Asian Harbor at your own risk read more

Sashimi and sushi are very good. Unlike other sushi resturants, the servings are good sized. The sashimi cuts are not thinly sliced, in fact quite the opposite. Very impressed with the with overall quality of the food, plus very affordable. Friendly wait staff. While located out if the way and at the end of a relatively dead strip mall, its well worth the visit. A nice alterative to the standard 'bar' fare in the area. read more

Full disclosure I'm a picky eater especially when it comes to Thai and Sushi. Since moving from Chicago I have been repeatedly disappointed with the selection in Lake County. I thought I'd give this spot a chance. Deep fried Sweet potato sushi rolls were delicious. It's a pretty small portion but still worth the price. The spicy tuna roll was gross. It was not spicy, barely any sauce and very mushy texture. I ordered tofu pad thai with no egg. They still put the egg on it which immediately annoyed me. The portion was very large though. The tofu was good and nice texture. The pad thai sauce (which is what it's all about for me) was sour and not pleasant. This is where I'm extra picky. I like mine sweet and tangy. This wasn't. My fiancé enjoyed it though. I gave it to him. So I guess it depends on your tastes, but I'm not a fan of this place. Must say they were quick and clean and pleasant though so I'll give a 3 star. read more

I usually order spicy tuna to get an idea as to how the rest of the line-up is. If they cannot make a decent spicy tuna than I'm not even going to try the rest. I asked what is in it. The guy said a spicy mayo and some deep-fried crunchy stuff. I asked what is this crunchy stuff. He said just pieces of dough. I watched him make the roll. Even though the addition of rice to a half sheet was typical, he proceeded to pull out a bowl from underneath the counter and spooned this pink looking stuff into the roll. The color resembled the pinkness that a hotdog has not the usual deep red tuna look. It kind of looked like it was in a food processor. I left and ate it on my way somewhere else. The taste was not even close as far as a real tuna taste and feel. The spicy mayo was average. Overall I would not go there again. I've had some really good spicy tuna and this is not one of them. It was about as good as the crap you buy at Jewel in the cooler case pre-made. I have no comment on the other parts of the menu. read more

My family comes here all the time and we love it, but tonight we went and got are usual order of the Love Boat and asked if they can replace the Red Snapper with Tuna. The waitress walked away and put it through when it came out there was no red snapper or tuna. We got very confused as to why there was not one or the other. The manager came over and said no substitutions, but why didn't the waitress come over and tell us. We were willing to pay extra, but no. This manager was so rude and was yelling at my parents. I can say we would go there twice a month and in a year we have never been treated in such a disrespectful way and we are PAYING customers willing to pay for the substitution. read more

Husband and niece were craving Chinese food- as it tends to be very carb-heavy I tend to avoid it. I ordered here because it is my husband's birthday, and I found options on the menu that I could enjoy as well that had less carbs. DELICIOUS. Every bit of food we ordered was soooo good.
