As I said before, the food is great. This time, I dined in, no take out. The atmosphere is totally Asian and wonderful. My server was an absolute doll. Super quite, so I missed her name, but she was excellent. I still did not like my take out experience, but I highly recommend dining in at the Asian Vegan Bistro.

You get what you pay for. The food was alright. Maybe I'm just spoiled in Los Angeles. For example, the tofu satay appetizer was basic. The orange chicken portion was only enough for one person. Usually when I go to Asian restaurants they have shareable portions. Service was lacking on a Sunday afternoon even though the restaurant wasn't super busy. Very large dining area with plentiful parking. Overall, maybe it's good for a decent affordable meal, but don't expect too much

This is my once a Week Treat . Finding a great Plant Based restaurant is a joy. Food is fresh organic and delicious. I am picky about no added Sugar. But they can accommodate me . Environment is a dated and not fancy. Wait staff friendly and remember our names when we show up. Love the Fresh Rolls with Tofu.

Great food, great and fast service, great prices, and roomy seating. We love coming here.

Zero enrichment for the poor fish. Not a good look for a vegan restaurant.

It's great to have a vegan restaurant in Bakersfield, but we were disappointed to see a fish tank with zero enrichment at their entrance. It's a very bad look for a vegan restaurant when veganism is against the abuse of animals. And yes, fish do feel, just like us. Imagine being trapped in a tank all day with nothing to do. Other than that, service was good and food was well priced. I will add stars once this issue is improved.

I come here at least once a week. I'm obsessed. Their food has so much flavor, you don't miss meat. Today I got my usual spring rolls with peanut sauce and am trying the teriyaki tofu bowl for the first time. The service is impeccable & friendly. The interior is quirky yet comfortable.

5 stars is not enough! This place is perfection!! The food is phenomenal, truly authentic Thai flavor. Sooo many menu items to choose from, you will definitely find something to enjoy for everyone. Family owned and extremely friendly service. It's a big spot to bring the whole family, very clean and peaceful. It's a pleasure to sit down and enjoy your meal. I recommend the "beef" protein with the fried rice and/or chow mein. The Thai Spicy Fried Rice is my favorite, favorite!

This is hands down THE BEST Vegan restaurant in Bakersfield! The negative reviews make me sad, so Since I've been going here at least 2-3 per month since it's opened I thought I should write a review. The food is absolutely delicious. The curry is my favorite but the gyoza, spring rolls, sushi, ramen, tofu dishes, and enoki are SO good. I'm pretty sure the owners are the only 2 who work here, one cooks and one waits tables. They are super nice! If you come here and you feel like are waiting too long at the door, be mindful of this before you have a fit. Remember this is a small business! I'd rather come here and wait a few minutes extra to support them and get some delicious vegan food than give my money to some chain restaurant. They get the food perfect every time, and that's why we keep going back!

We ordered ahead for pick up and the food was hot and freshly made. The portion size was more than enough because I had leftovers. Everything tasted homemade and was delicious. It was my first time trying the restaurant and will definitely be back. Also, it was very affordable for it being vegan. Definitely must try.

Driving back to LA, we were surprised to see place with such a variety. They have Thai, Japanese and Chinese menu to offer. I will start this review with something that, as an animal rights activist and a vegan person, I definitely could not just pass by and ignore. This place has amazing menu, and even a message in their menu that states that vegan means peace for all, however, as soon as you enter you will face sad, large fish, living in a small tank, without any structure to help replicate the natural habitat or any artificial plants. There was nothing in that tank, just water. That can not be a happy, peaceful life. This really bothered me and it did not give me that great of a experience, even though food and service was good. Now, the menu. Menu is great. Such a great variety. We ordered few different appetizers, main course, green tea and coffee with boba. Everything was delicious. Crispy tofu had perfect crispness on the outside and so soft on the inside. Comes with sweet and sour sauce. Lobster roll was good, chow mein was delicious, very saucy and well cooked. BBQ pork tasted very good as well. Fried enoki was ok, very oily and breaded for my taste, but it was still good. My favorite was fried wontons that were filled with cheese and spinach. So overall it was good experience. Since it is a vegan place, I would highly suggest moving forward, to swap styrofoam with more environmentally friendly takeout packing. Styrofoam is slow to degrade, and if disposed of improperly, the foam can leach chemicals into the environment harming water sources. Other than that, atmosphere was good, definitely could be a bit cleaner, but considering how great of a food it was, if they would improve the condition of the fish, I would definitely change review to 5 star experience. For now, it is in between 3 and 4, since the condition of the fish really left a bad experience for me. I am highly encouraging the management to contact me if they need help with improving the condition for the fish in their restaurant, I will be happy to help.

I was very excited to find out about this new vegan Asian fusion restaurant from Bakersfield vegan Facebook group and knew I had to visit and show support. The new restaurant is located in the from Shangri-La Asian Bistro & Bar building but luckily, there is signage with the new restaurant name on the windows to make it easy for customers to find. Upon entering the restaurant, we were warmly greeted by a staff member who asked if we were dining in or taking our food to go. Since we had a prior engagement, we decided to take our food to go. As I opened the menu. I was in awe of the variety of Chinese, Japanese, and Thai Asian cuisine as well as desserts and smoothie bowls. After taking time to review the menu, I decided to order appetizers of fried wontons with vegan cream cheese and spinach. Although I had planned to order an appetizer of Enoki with bacon which is grilled Enoki mushroom wrapped with vegan bacon but unfortunately, the bacon they used wasn't vegan so they've pulled it from the menu at this time. For my main dish, I had pad see ew with tofu, hubby ordered yellow curry, and he got beef and broccoli and vegetable fried rice for my mom-in-law. The staff member told that they're out of orange chicken since because they were extremely busy last night which is a good thing considering this restaurant is newly open. Hubby asked if they was nuts in his curry and was told there was no nut in the curry. Our food order was quickly rung up and the staff member said the food would be ready in fifteen minutes. I especially liked that when we returned to the restaurant to pick up our food, the staff member brought the food to our car which was a nice and unexpected example of great customer service. The food was given in good portions, was flavorful, and delicious. Of all the food we had, I especially liked the vegan cream cheese wontons since I haven't found a place that make them since becoming vegan in 2009. In addition, although I love eating pad see ew from other restaurants, Asian Vegan Bistro sets itself apart in reference to the big chunks of tofu they add to the dish. I love that this restaurant is 100% vegan and that the staff are so transparent with their mission to have a fully vegan restaurant and not have any ingredients that contains animals on their menu or in their food items. Although they're currently accepting cash only while they get their cash handling system set up and have recently run out of food due to an influx of customers, I'm sure once these issues are resolved, Asian Vegan Bistro will become a popular vegan restaurant mainstay in Bakersfield.

Incredible vegan food, we ate here twice today!! The menu has incredible variety and everything we ate was so good. We also had the yakisoba, Tom yum, veggie dumplings, Hong Kong noodles, boba smoothies, and the lab nah. We wish we could stay longer in Bakersfield and try more but we will definitely be back next time we are in town! Service was also great and fast and the restaurant is super cute. Amazing spot in Bakersfield

We had dinner here and it was both of our first-time. I really hate that I have to give this place a 4 but it's because the spicy edamame was not to my liking and they do not carry pineapple soju. The food is definitely a must try, especially the beautiful yellowtail sashimi. The seafood yakisoba was so delicious. I did not care much for the baked salmon roll, Love Sushi takes first place for that roll and Prime Sushi take first place for spicy edamame. The crazy tuna roll I ordered was so big! The crunchy pieces on top can stand to sit in some absorbing paper towels because they were a bit oily but went well with the Tuna dance. I personally did not care for the bluefin tuna. Overall my babe and I enjoyed our dinner and will most definitely return for more.
