Absolutely one of our favorite restaurants in Myrtle Beach!! The service was spectacular and the atmosphere and the food are top notch! We had three different appetizers and everyone one was delicious! Oysters Rockefeller was one of the best I have ever had! Beef Carpaccio was so awesome and the Seared Ahi Tuna was spectacular! Caesar's Salad was pretty standard and tasty. The two desserts we had were both amazing: blueberry Bread pudding and Lemon cake with lemon zest cream cheese frosting!! Amazing dinner experience. First, I LOVE when a waiter/waitress is willing to offer suggestions based on our questions/interactions, especially when they really know their menu and drink offerings. Whatever you do, ask if Polo is working and to be seated at one of his tables! Can't say enough out this young man! He made several cocktail, wine and food suggestions based on our questions about the menu and comments, and he nailed each one. My wife had the crab cake app and said it was delicious. I had the tuna loin and it was prepared perfectly. We both had the scallops for our mains and they were delicious - the risotto was on point. Kids had the cowboy rib eye and filet, both were cooked perfectly and they loved the mashed potatoes. Our fist time to MB and Aspen, and our kids (13 and 16, quite fussy) both asked to go back - unheard of for them. It's only a five day trip but we are looking forward to one more dinner before leaving! read more

On Tuesday, August 29, 2023, i returned to The Aspen Grille as I have done for some ten years or more! This was the restaurant that my wife and I would celebrate our Marriage Anniversary or birthdays. In the past, we were treated royally as we celebrated our Special Days! I made reservations using the assigned agent with special requests to celebrate my wife's birthday on August 29, 2023. When we arrived, there was a generic card wishing us a Happy Anniversary! Were celebrating her birthday! The waitress was informed. She immediately, removed the card and did not replace it with a corrected one. At the end of the dinner, I expected to have a small celebration dessert to be given to my wife as she celebrated her seventy first birth day . The waitress abruptly informed me that they did not do this at this restaurant! It would have to come out of her pay check! This was in total contrast to our previous experiences! I was so disappointed that this momentous occasion was shoved to the back burner! I was informed that ownership had changed and they give champagne but not a small dessert! WOW! read more

Our daughter arranged for us to have dinner at this restaurant on Tuesday, but because my shoe broke I needed to shop for replacements. They accommodated our reservation change without any fuss. We were in town celebrating our 30th anniversary with a second honeymoon. If this restaurant could get 6 stars from me I would give it. Our server was Precious (her name). German RIesling, Spatlese, Jumbo Carolina Shrimp Cocktail Extra Large Burgundy Escargot Organic Field Green Salad Aspen Grille Wedge Salad Cowboy ribeye (one of the specials of the evening) with Brandy Peppercorn Cream Sauce. Very unassuming on the outside but so worth the $$$! My hubby and I went for our 25 th wedding anniversary. I had the special which was caramelized grouper topped with crabmeat in the most amazing sauce! No pics because it was just that good I couldn't stop to take one. The baguette with soft butter and various salts to dip in were different and so good! Service was impeccable. They gave us a free champagne toast when they found out it was our anniversary. This place is absolutely phenomenal. The French onion soup was one of the best I've ever eaten. The tomatoes in the caprese salad were melt in your mouth, almost as if they just came off the vine. The surf and turf had one of the best dry aged filets I could ever ask for. The lobster was so juicy and full of flavor. But the real gem of this place was the service given to us by Aaron. He was on of the nicest people I've ever met, so knowledge about the menu, made my girlfriend feel extremely special on her birthday. What a great restaurant. We very glad to find upscale dining that lived up to the hype. The food was incredible and our waiter Mark was extremely friendly and on point. I had the the escargot as an app and my wife had the crab cakes both out of this world. We took our 8 year old and our 11 year old children. They had a filet and New York Strip, they both loved them. I had the surf and turf which were phenomenal. My wife got the 6oz filet which cut like butter. We were extremely happy with the menu and the service. We also ordered the bread which was served with unsalted butter and three different salts so you can customize the butter to your liking, it was very very tasty. Myrtle Beach. I've said it my previous reviews, the culinary scene was not what I predicted. We found some real gems down there. Aspen is in a random little strip off a main road. It's not in a fancy complex or an urban development, just a quaint little building next to a couple of shops. When you walk inside, the decor, the professionalism and the menu would make you think you were downtown in D.C or maybe Charleston, not a couple hundred yards from the beach on a little strip of Kings Highway. I'm not sure if this place gets very busy but we made a reservation just in case. It Friday night and we were seated right away. A large party of about 15. Service was impeccable. Never ran out of anything. Needs were always met. Loved the atmosphere too. White table cloths. Silverware I didn't even know how to operate. Food: Started with raw oysters and Rockefeller. Raw were meaty, fresh, and the cocktail was spicy. Thumbs up. Rockefeller were on par. Main course were scallops with mushroom risotto. Scallops were cooked well, tender, buttery. Risotto had the right texture, subtle flavor of the mushroom cut through. Classic, simple but well executed dish. We ordered a bunch of desserts but the only one worth ordering and talking about is the Smith Island Chocolate Cake. Dude....I generally don't even go for chocolate based desserts when I'm at a restaurant but this cake blew me away. I'm not eloquent enough to convey my satisfaction. Go there and order the cake, that's how I'll leave it. Good job guys. read more

I hate to give this place a 3. It's a very nice set up, everyone was so friendly, and the staff was super fast, knowledgeable, and attentive. However, it is insanely overpriced for what it is: $140 with tip for lamb, shrimp and grits, fried goat cheese, and one martini... and they salted every food item like they were trying to kill a snail infestation in the garden out back. In fact, I could feel my doctor stirring in their sleep as my blood pressure rose. Lots of potential here if they simply cut back on the salt. Then it easily could have been a 4. P.s. The owners martini was the highlight of the meal, as a big martini drinker this was easily in the top 5 of all time. read more

We asked 2 locals for steak/seafood recommendations and were told to go to buffets, yuck! So we came on yelp and found this great restaurant. My sisters and I ate here on a Sunday night. We each ordered a cocktail prior to dinner. I liked that they brought a chilled martini glass and poured the drink in the glass at the table. The french onion was great, a lot of cheese and good flavor! I had the filet mignon with roasted potatoes. Steak was cooked perfectly. My sisters had the surf and turf Aspen style and the scallops. They both enjoyed their entrees. Our server informed us there was one slice of 10 layer cake left in house, so we ordered the cake to share. The slice of cake was huge and very good! Service was great. I only have good things to say about our meal and would highly recommend to others! The restaurant needs to get rid of that cart they use to wheel back and forth to serve food and drinks.... It's cheap looking and noisy! read more

This is a classic example of not judging a book by its cover! It really is a hidden gem! As soon as you walk in the door, you totally forget you are in a shopping plaza restaurant. The location is so unassuming. It was so nice to support a local business and not a franchise! The dining room is dim and welcoming. Perfect for date night, or a nice evening with friends. We were a bit worried about being under-dressed (we were on vacation and didn't bring "nice" clothes, but it wasn't a problem. There were people dressed very nice, but quite a few people were dressed casually. So do not let that scare you away if you are on vacation!!! My friend and husband had the french onion soup and LOVED it! They both killed their bowls pretty quick and really enjoyed it! All 3 of us ordered steaks. We had New York Strip, Rib-eye, and Filet. None of us left a morsel on the plate. They were all cooked perfectly to each persons liking and so tender. I had the New York Strip, cooked medium. There was a perfectly seasoned "crust" on the steak and it was wonderful! My husband and I had the pea and corn risotto. It was very creamy, and the corn added a nice, light, sweetness to it. My friend had the mashed potatoes and she said they were very nice. We all had the Bernaise with our steaks and it was so good! For dessert we had the Fig & Pear Bread Pudding. OH WOW! Bread pudding isn't usually the first dessert I go for, but our servers said it was great. Her recommendation did not disappoint! It was great. The portion was enough for 2, maybe more. read more

Fine dining is limited in MB so we thought we would try Aspen Grille to add a new restaurant to the rotation. We were disappointed from the start. The server stumbled through the intros and specials. We tried a Goat Cheese appetizer which was underwhelming. Ordered an 8 Oz Filet and the server informed me they over cooked the steak so the chef insisted he cook another one. After 15 min of watching everyone eat my filet never made it to the table. I finally informed the manager to just keep the filet. He tried to make it right by boxing up the steak and taking it off the bill. Nice gesture but it ruined the experience. When I got home I discovered the steak was over cooked regardless! - $10 charge for splitting a $70 steak - 3% charge for not paying cash - uncomfortable small table Go to NY Prime if you want a good steak! read more

4.5 stars. I went here last minute at 6 pm on a Saturday night with my boyfriend. They seated us right away. The staff was excellent. I enjoyed a Negroni to start. It was made perfectly. Appetizer was crab stuffed mushrooms. Hog snapper fish and Stuffed Carolina flounder were the entree choices - both were delicious. I had a glass of Pinot Grigio with dinner. We shared the blueberry caramel bread pudding for dessert. . I could have eaten it on my own, haha. Highly recommend!! read more
