Cute place in downtown, good beer, good pizza and other food. We enjoyed coming here.

It may be less crowded than normal but it was very comfortable and roomy- the bartender is super friendly and she introduced us to this insane local hot sauce (pictured). The nachos were good, cheese could use a little more layering but I have yet to master this. Jalapeños are super spicy which is great. Amazing gimlet... The beer is average at best but here is a spot if you want bartenders that act like they have something better to do then serve beer or answer questions about the beer this is for sure the spot for overpriced beer that is average at best. I liked this place's beers years ago when it was just a taproom, and still like the place today. Very tasty local beers - flights are served on a ski for a fun photo op. My favorite of this trip is the Excess in Moderartion Hazy IPA. Pizza is shockingly good - highly recommend the Soprisza. Based on the reviews, I figured food was an afterthought but I enjoyed everything we tried. Servers all in masks and friendly. It's a seat yourself situation so you may have to wait a minute on a pretty day. read more

They might have been scared when we had 10 9 yr old hockey players and 12 parents walk in but the kids stayed occupied with the games, the soccer was on, pizza was awesome (I loved the buffalo chicken dip) beer great and most of all service (JP) very accommodating! I'm sad to have to write this review, went to Aspen Tap for a few beers. We buy t-shirts from a company who promotes beer companies in Colorado, which is why we went to Aspen Tap. In this package for that month there was a free beer card. Yay score. There were 5 of us. The manager promptly tells us he has never approved the coupon so no free beer. You mean free advertising for you, lost a big sale. We got up paid and left. Never again. Was it worth an $10 beer? Crazy. read more

After visiting the old Aspen Brewing Company tasting room many times over the years we did not know what to expect from the new Aspen Tap. Let me just say that our expectations were blown away! This place is great! Great location, great service, great atmosphere and most importantly great beer! My friend and I both had a flight of beers and found each one to be excellent in its own right. Rude bartender. I had the same rude female bartender as others apparently. Valerie. So rude. Came in to study, have food/a drink, asked for the bathrooms and got the most attitude I've had in a long time! Practically bit my head off and gave a solid eye roll. "It's not for public use" so I said I'm planning on staying and buying stuff just want to use the bathroom first. "Yeah sure I guess go ahead but 50% of people think it's for public use and it's not and I'm sick of people bitching about it"... I wasn't bitching and I was about to be a paying customer just don't want to have my beer sitting unattended while I use it. I bartend right down the street. If I treated my customers that way I'd be out of a job. Also, why assume like that? I asked and she said "because it happens all the time"...can't treat all customers in a rude way first thing out of your mouth or like they did something wrong... not how customer service works.. Sometimes guys grab me or get belligerent and yeah it sucks but its not like I snap at every guy who walks through the door next... And this was asking to use a bathroom. Not terribly inappropriate. "I'm just sick of it"... come work at any of the bars I've worked at and see if you get away with treating all customers rude based off the bad instances. maybe be proactive and make a sign so you don't just assume there isn't a purchase about to be made? End of the day we've gotta make tips to live here and not gonna like that. Loses the business $ too. Controlling, entitled, and should not be in a customer facing position ever. read more

If I could give a 0 star I would be happy to do so. My 3 friends and I came in at 10:30pm to get a round of beers since it said online that they were closing at midnight. The beer tender was completely disrespectful and rude to us from the moment we walked in. We were not even greeted with a "hello." My sister even tried talking to her about selling some Aspen brewing beer at our moms taphouse in Castle Rock, CO.. giving some business to them. The beer tender was super short and rude. We were told we could only have one beer then needed to go since we came in "last minute"... it was 1.5 hours before closing. When my boyfriend didn't tip for the one beer she poured him, she slammed his receipt down and said "this is not okay. You didn't tip me. You're in Aspen. You can leave." This is after she was disrespectful to us, our beers were poured, and we all already paid. I am FLOORED. I work at my moms taphouse and we would never in a million years demand a tip, especially after we had a piss poor attitude with a customer. I cannot fathom how entitled and childish youd have to be to approach customers like this. I am completely disgusted by this interaction. It's a bummer since this establishment seems decent. The beers were good, the place was nice, etc. The customer service really makes it or breaks it. I hope this employee gets fired because she is going to hurt business. Wow from the rude way we were greeted by PAUL.. who tried to get us to go somewhere else. Then when we told him to go ahead and put our name on wait list (30 min wait time, not a problem we understood they were busy and under staffed) Paul seemed irritated. We walked around and came back when we were alerted our table was ready. Paul sat us at a large table. They sat another couple at the end of our table (which was no prob). The prob was how Paul spoke to the nice couple when they asked if they could sit somewhere out of the sun. PAUL's RUDE response was an abrupt and loud "No!" He tossed their menus on the table and walked away. Especially when there were other open tables in the shade. Way to go PAUL. Unbelievable! Food looked good on menu.. if you don't mind $28 small pizzas. Cesar salad was large and the dressing was really good. We ordered the Aspenite and an Arugula and prosciutto pizza. Both very good. But it took forever to get our food. Which we understand bcuz of staff issues. The waiter (young kid brown hair and mustache, didn't get his name) was super friendly and apologetic. The waitress that brought our beer was also nice but messed whose beer was whose. Good thing we were with family bcuz all of us played musical beers to figure out which beer was ours. Took 45 min to get served while sitting at a table. Awful service.

The host was rude. Food was okay. When I asked for the check, our server punched in a bunch of info into her hand held device while standing at our table. She then rattled off a total without presenting any detailed bill. I asked for a detailed bill and the host returned and slapped it on our table. Of course there was a charge for an item we'd never ordered and we had to ask for it to be removed. read more

Food was great, beer was adequate, and the staff was THE WORST (on 10/21/2020). Would never visit here again. We walk in and are informed it's self seating. We choose the window seat outside. No one comes to give a menu or take an order. We flag down the dude with the brown man bun and ask for menus. He drops them off and then doesn't come back again until we stop him to take our order. We start with food, and he walks away before we can request beer, or water. I stop him again for beer. Had to ask for water, when I watched him walk some up to other customers who arrived 15 mins after us. Drinks never came. Blonde girl comes out with our drinks and attempts to give them to other customers. Then asks us if we ordered a second round. My friend informs her we never got our first round, ordered 20+ mins earlier. She sets drinks down and walks away. No apology. Girl keeps touching her face, won't wear her mask, and ignores and customers who "aren't hers" while man bun struggles to manage his customer load. I ask man bun for check. Does not come back with check. I get up, go inside, and ask bartender to pay my bill. He tells me he can't run my card and man bun has to do it. I say man bun hasn't come back since I've asked and is busy. Bartender asks blonde girl to do it. She says "only cause you said please," then takes drinks to other customers and walks back inside. She reappears with payment portal, then stops, takes off her mask, pets her friend's dog, shows her pictures on her phone, starts a conversation and ignores me. I finally throw my hands in the air and am like "you guys are killing me!" She comes out processes payment and tells me they automatically add 20% gratuity. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? I always tip 20% minimum but was so disgusted by this entire experience I would have only left 10%. This place is a hot mess. Get it the fuck together. P.S. the Caprese pizza is delicious. read more

Food was okay, but they forgot to cut one of our pizzas so we had to cut it with a butter knife . We could not get a hold of our server because she was too busy flirting with the other tables. We nicely asked another server to order a drink and she was rude and wouldn't help us, even though we were very friendly to her. It took a long time to get our check which was frustrating because our server was giving all the tables around us so much attention. We are a pleasant group and very friendly but did not get good service. When we did get our check they charged us for a pizza that we did not order and could not track someone down to get a refund. I had the Club Sandwich & a few Blonde beers. The club sandwich was astonishingly good! I've never had such a good club sandwich, not even close! Their meal pizzas were fantastic, beer was good! Better service could've made this a 5 star review. My newlywed wife and I were enjoying ourselves in here about 1.5hrs before listed closing time. At an hour before close, after waiting 15min for our server to finish flirting with the customer next to us so he could ask if we needed anything, we tried to order the dessert pizza to go, and we were told no, kitchen is done. Clean fresh food in a casual atmosphere. I was surprised to find that it was rather difficult to find simple fresh food while in Aspen and we were pleasantly surprised by Aspen Tap as a last resort. After a day of hiking I really didn't want a 5-star fancy restaurant but definitely not a greasy pub...Aspen Tap offered the perfect combination of cold beer, clean crisp atmosphere and healthy menu items. I had the kale ceasar, which could have used some tomatoes but alone stood out as very good and my partner had the tacos which he loved (an avid taco lover).
